SURPRISE! NEW POSTS!

I know, I know: the world is coming to an end because I finally got a new post on the blog. Just thought we'd update y'all on what we did for thanksgiving. We just stayed at home and had my Grandma and Grandpa Savage and my aunt and uncle from Colorado visit. We ate, played basketball, went swimming, and even attempted to get Christmas trees (we actually didn't end up getting any until later on)

ImageThis is the "adult" part of the crew getting ready to eat dinner. It took us all morning to prepare and only about 30 minutes to eat it all.

ImageThese are the younger cousins. It's Lacy Kasiah and Hayden with Garrett and Hilary

ImageWe took group pictures in 20 degree weather up at Pomerelle. I couldn't feel my feet. But, we all put on smiles anyway :-)

Image

And....I didn't upload any of the basketball pictures because it was too dark in our church gym to really see anything. Maybe I'll edit those and post them later.

We hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving and are looking forward to Christmas - I know we are!!!

Carlie

I have a pretty intense schedule. I get up, go to school, go to work, come home, do my homework, eat, do my chores and go to bed. Then I get up and do it all over again. I got a job at Kodiak Northwest, which is a company that makes snow machines. Don't worry, I'm not in the shop endangering anybody's health. I do filing and accounting work. And I get paid about $9/hr.

At our school veterans day assembly (sorry, no pictures of that) I got to sing Lee Greenwood's God Bless the U.S.A., and I got a standing ovation. It was pretty neat. I also just got done with the Sadie Hawkin's dance earlier this month, which was also fun. After the dance we watched Poltergeist in the mortuary *imitates Pyscho theme music*.
Image It's always fun when you get to do things at school that don't have anything to do with school. During homecoming week (I know it was all a long time ago) I played in the powderpuff football game. I was a middle linebacker. We came so close to winning, and we would have beat the seniors except they started playing dirty (they punched a couple of our girls in the face, we threw one of their player's knees out of place -- it was an intense game). I gained a new admiration for football players. By the way - good job to Oakley on their winning season. It's almost basketball time now, which means Burley gets a chance to dominate (AGAIN)
Image And then, if you didn't see a picture of me in my homecoming outfit, here it is. I didn't get to go to Burley's homecoming because a guy from Minico asked me, but it was still....interesting.
Image And that's the update of our family. Keep checking back because I'll try to keep things updated from here on out. Much love to everyone.

Lacy

Image Lacy sure is a busy girl. She got done with her volleyball season not too long ago, and is now almost done with basketball. I would put volleyball pictures on here, but they're so dark you can't even see what's going on. These pictures are from her last basketball game. She's usually number 22, to honor my dad (*HAH!*) and Danny Ainge, but this year she couldn't get 22 so she settled for the next best -- she's number 2.Image
Below, Lacy and her friends at a field trip to the City of Rocks (at least that's what I think it was) She has a really sweet group of girls that she hangs out with - they're all younger siblings of people I know, sort of like minime's...Image This is picture of Lacy and her friends at her birthday party. They went on a video scavenger hunt (courtesy of me) and it was a HOOT! Most of the girls said it was the best party they had ever been to. They watched the videos they made for each other as they ate cake and ice cream
Image And, as busy as Lacy is with being the star of the basketball team and keeping straight A's in school, plus putting up with all of us crazies, she still has time to mess around. You don't even want to know how many pictures like this one there are on our camera....

Kasiah

Kasiah is also doing very well. She's really involved in sports - she got through playing volleyball not too long ago. When she can, she loves to ride horses. I also have to fight her CONSTANTLY for the internet, because she likes to get on dinky little toy websites and play their games. She loves to play with animals, and another one of her hobbies, as you can see, is posing for the camera. Smile! :-D

Hayden

Image

Hayden has been doing great. He's an awesome athelete and just an all around cutie pie! We love him so much - most of the time. I especially love it when he's not trying to beat me up (I know it's hard to believe that someone could be tougher than me, but it's true)!!! He's doing great in school, but gets a little stressed out about his adverbs, adjectives, and nouns. But he's a very smart boy, and he gets great grades. The highlight of Hayden's month was the hunting trip with Dad that he went on....even though we couldn't keep the deer.

UPDATES!

I thought I would give an update on how each member of the family was doing. I'm doing this partly because I feel guilty not having updated the blog in so long, and partly because I'm sick of getting bugged (just kidding, guys) :-)

Mom's doing well. She's busy, as usual, helping all of us kids with all of the stuff we have to do, but somehow she still manages to keep the family together. She'll probably hate me for posting these pictures (even though they're a little outdated). The first one is her on a typical morning, except maybe without the smile. The next one is with her best friend from high school at a class reunion. We got to go to that with her, and boy was it an experience

Image
Dad is still busy working, hunting, and pretending that he rides his horse enough. And, as you can see by the picture - no matter how busy he is, he always finds time for good food :-)

FIRST DEER HUNT

Image
This was Hayden's first deer hunt. It was a great experience. We went with a guy I used to work with and his son. As you can see by the shape the deer is in, everyone that had a gun, got to put a hole in the deer. We let them keep the deer beings he was the first to shoot at it. This was the deer that came running right for Hayden. When you see him you will have to hear the story. You know how deer stories are better told than written. We really had a lot of fun. Still keeping busy with kids and school etc. Lacy and Kasiah are doing great with basketball. Carlie is still busy with school clubs dating etc. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. And as much as I do on this blog and as much as I read them, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year also. Oh and Happy Valentines day, Easter, 4th of July, etc, etc.

LIFE AT THE FAIR

Well the fair has come and gone. We were pretty busy with pigs, kiwanis, posse, 4H, and Carlie as the fair princess. It seemed as if we lived at the fair. We did well with our pigs, the prices were great. Carlie did a wonderful job as princess this year. At the Queens breakfast she sang a medly of songs as part of the program. After the program the Fairbord president and some other people asked her if she would like to sing the National Anthem at all three nights at the Rodeo and do it from horseback. She also sang the National Anthem at the concert. This first picture is of her with Little Texas. Restless Heart was also there. All in all was a great week.

Oklahoma!

This is a picture of us
girls during "Out of my dreams"
Lacy & I get to sing a
solo line.Image
Image

This [right] is Leland. Lacy and Kelby are the envy of most of the girls in the play because they get to kiss him during "All or Nothin'". Lucky, lucky them.

Image

Hayden is sure one cute little cowboy. He dances really well

in "The Farmer and the Cowman"

This is a picture of some of the members of the self proclaimed "Leland Fan Club". Just what is that? Ask Kori or Kasiah. They'll be happy to tell you all about how they stalk him - and how happy they were when they got his autograph yesterday :-)

Many faces of Hayden

When our family went up to
Boise to see our Burley
Boys play in the state
basketball tournament
(which they won!) Hayden
went on a basketball craze.
He's here in the Idaho Center
showing the camera his follow through.
The team and all of the fans are down below.Image
Image

He also likes to pretend that he is a BYU football player. He's putting on his game face here.

And of course, he's just plain cute. We love him.

Hayden "Cowboys Up"

Image
Image
These pictures were taken.......sometime last week. I had woke up to go riding, and Hayden decided that he wanted to go with me. I told him that he didn't have to, but he got all dressed up in his cowboy gear anyway. He was just so cute on B.V., that we had to get him to pose for a picture! This is one of his "cowboy" days. During different days, he decides that he wants to be different things. Sometimes he's a cowboy, sometimes he's a basketball player, gymnast....we've even had him be Batman. "To the Batmobile!"

Partial Update

Image
Image
I figure that it's time that this blog got a little action. We need to get this sucker updated more frequently, so I decided to make myself a contributer to this blog. I'll probably be doing most of the updating, because, you know, I pretty much don't have a life. I'm pretty much busy with Rodeo and, of course, with Oklahoma. I got to be on Zeb Bell's Radio Show on Monday, July 2nd. I had an interview where I talked about myself, my experiences as princess, etc. It was really fun. He told me that I was a girl who had "all my ducks in a line"...or something about birds in a line. I think they liked me. Grandpa says that I'll need a bigger hat. I told him that I'm my dad's hat size, and you'd think that his hats would be large enough :-D I also got to be in the 4th of July Parade, which was a ton of fun. I was kind of disappointed, though, that I didn't get to be on the Oklahoma float. I got to go first - they had to go dead last. I have pictures of that that I'll have to get up later...I'm sort of just figuring out how to use this thing. We also had a party at Kevin and Wendy's for the 4th - that was also a LOT of fun! (My favorite part was when Kevin couldn't figure out why the fireworks weren't going off......he had lit one and forgotten to take it out of the box!)

RENO TRIP

Image
I just got back from Reno where I spent three days watching Rodeo and over 1400 team roping runs. I went to the Reno Rodeo and the BFI team roping and the PDL team roping invitational. The best of the best were there. Had a lot of fun. All is well here I guess, Natalie is preparing for a garage sale this weekend, Carlie is busy with rodeo stuff and her horse, Lacy seems to be baby sitting every day of the summer for someone, Kasiah and Hayden are about finished with baseball. Now they just want to go to play practice and swim. Hope all is well with everyone in blog land.

REIGNING 2007 CASSIA COUNTY RODEO PRINCESS

Image
Carlie just got her picture back for the 2007 rodeo book. She is pretty excited for her reign this year as rodeo princess. She will be trying for Queen next year.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

Image
This has become a last day of school tridition. This is Kasiah and some of her friends who I picked up at the school and drove down the main drag to Dairy Queen for lunch. Kasiah thought she was pretty neat stuff. I then went to the Jr. High to pick up Lacy and her friends. Needless to say, there are no photos of her. I don't think it was as "cool" for a teenager as it was for a 5th grader.

MORE PHOTOS

Image I only had time to post photos today. I will try to explain photos. Hayden was in charge of the camera. Out of 50 some odd photos we only managed to savc a few. This is only half of our camp. I was camped on the other side. Very pretty 4 wheeler trails. I may have some other pictures of the canyons I can post.
Image This is Hayden shooting at something.
Image Ready for my turn for the clay targets. Yes I won out of my group. 5 for 5. I thought I heard they had run out of targets so I went back to camp. Later they asked why I didn't stay for the shoot off. Uncle K one the shoot.
Image Hayden down by the creek. He is holding a can of minows he was catching. They died befor we made it home.
Image This is DelRoy and Dee and Ralph? Adam and Jared behind Dee.
ImageCan't have a junk hunt with out snakes. There was one 2ft snake they caught but this is about the size of the snakes this year.
