Halloween!

For Halloween this year, we went with a mini theme.  Brenika LOVED the newest Tinkerbell movie, The Pirate Fairy.  It's about a fairy that turns pirate and her name is Zarina.  She wanted to be her, so I thought it would be perfect to have Dirk be Captain Hook and Kash be little Crocky the Crocodile.  I turned an Ariel costume into Zarina and added wings and found a pirate costume for cheap at Costco and ordered Kash's online.  It was awesome.

Trent's work scheduled at conference in Idaho the week of Halloween.  He wasn't going to be able to get back until late Halloween night if we were home, so I had a brilliant idea of going to Utah.  That way his drive was on a few hours instead of all day and he'd be able to make it to some Halloween festivities, and I wouldn't be alone with 3 kids for the holiday.

We left a few days early and I just hung out at my mom's while he was at meetings in Idaho.  It was nice to be able to have some help.  My mom and dad carved some pumpkins with my kids and Dallis the night before Halloween.  They loved it.

The morning of Halloween, Dallis had preschool.  Her teacher is her Grandma Cheryl, and she said it was fine if Brenika wanted to come along too!  So nice!  So, Brenika got dressed up in her costume and went to preschool with Dallis.  They had so much fun playing games and doing Halloween crafts.

When she got home we headed to Danica's because I wanted her to help me do their hair and make up, and to see her and visit her of course!!  They looked so awesome.  Dirk was obsessed with his Jack Sparrow make up, even though he was technically supposed to be Captain Hook.  He is obsessed with Jack, so it's okay, he was Jack. HAHA

We always go up to my Dad's work for Halloween and all the people in his building give out candy.  You get so much that there really is no need to go anywhere else.  It's a fun tradition, and I love seeing the look in my dad's eyes when all his grandkids are there in their costumes.

After we had a little potluck dinner at my mom's and the kids played for a bit.  Then we hit up her trunk or treat down the street.

Chase had been out of town too and didn't get to do any of the festivities, so we decided when he got there that we would knock on a few doors around his mom's neighborhood.  It was kinda late and no one else was out, but it was still so fun.

It was such a fun Halloween.  When we bathed the kids later that night, Dirk started crying when he realized his Jack make up was coming off.  He was seriously heart broken. HEHE  Such a funny kid.  It was a great weekend in Utah, loved spending it with family.
