Picture Contest

We have local magazine called Idaho Falls Magazine (go figure). Every year they do an amateur photo contest. This year I decided to enter some of my photos, and one my mother in law took a few years back (I've been looking for a contest to enter it in). There are 6 categories and you can enter 3 pics in each. They only pick 4 in each category to make it in the magazine and get the prizes. I entered in 5 of the categories, however none of my pictures got selected. I think the magazine said there were over 4,000 entries. They do have what they call the editors pick, which is 20 that the judges didn't select for prizes, but that the editor liked and thought they should be recognized so they get published in the magazine as well. No I didn't make it in that either, however my mother in-law's picture did. We were excited, it's the picture that sparked the whole thing anyway. You can read the magazine online at idahofallsmagazine.com and see the pictures that won. I thought I would go ahead and share the pictures I entered, and a few extra I love. I have a whole bunch, but there's just not enough room. It was so hard for me to narrow them down.
To start this is the picture Joliene took that got the editors pick. Image

2 Loves: Family and Hunting

This post is pretty self explanatory but just to highlight a few things. This summer and fall, we spent a lot of time in Grays Lake.Image It's so fun to just relax with my kiddosImage and and watch them play together.Image We took our family pics for the Christmas card.ImageImage Right before Halloween grandma Cindy stayed with us and helped carve pumpkins.Image Tyree was really good at getting the guts out.ImageImage For Halloween Tyree was a butterfly and she helped make her own costume.Image Clancy is obviously a puppy.Image I love his cheesy face.
Now on to the hunting. We had such a great hunting season. Kelly took some time off. It was so great to be able to spend the week with him and the kids. Kelly got his deer the first weekend.Image Not quite as big as last year but still a nice buck. This year it seemed like we saw more moose than usual. Some of them we got kind of close to.ImageImage The next week I was able to get me a buck. It was a great hunt. Definitely one of our favorites.ImageImage I absolutely love hunting with my husband. It's always such an amazing experience. My sister in law Sam was able to fill her tag as well.Image Another added bonus to hunting season was that my mom got to come and stay for a couple of days. Maybe that's part of the reason I have such a love for hunting, is my love of family.Image I'm so glad my kids can be apart of it, and have an understanding of what hunting means to our family and our life. It's such a great opportunity for us to just relax and enjoy each other's company and be greatful for all our blessings.Image

Tyree's Birthday

Yes, Yes, I am way far behind. So back in September we had Tyree's birthday. Since her birthday and Parker's are only 2 days apart we celebrated them together. I can't believe Parker is already 5 and my little Tyree is 4. It's crazy! We had a joint party at Cali's house, and of course we had to get the girls matching outfits.Image We all know how Cali is, when she throws a party it's all out. She's a great party planner and host. She had everything mermaid themed.ImageImageImage The decorations, food, and cake were awesome, and she rented a bouncy house! ImageIt was loads of fun. The 4 of us girls tried it out before anyone else got there.ImageImageImage It was a great party, and we had fun.ImageImageImageImage Just to top it all off there was a pinata at the end.ImageImageImage Thanks Cali for hosting such a great time.
