Writing a catch up post is exhausting so, I'm not going to...

Instead of trying to bring you up to speed I am just going to assume you know the following:
  • I moved into my new house, to which I immediately broke my toilet paper holder...
  • I now have furniture
  • I still don't have blinds... and I think people can still see me naked through sheets...
  • I recorded on Jenny Phillips new Christmas CD, which was a big deal to me.
  • Shortly after, I recorded on my friend, Shannon McConkies', CD that comes out soon, which was also a big deal to me.
  • Mitt Romney lost, which wasn't a big deal to me.
  • I gave a talk in church for the first time probably since I got home from my mission.
  • I was called to the Elders Quorum presidency, I guess that means I need to stop cussing...
  • Went to Newport Beach and, as usual, considered living there for a brief minute until I saw the gas prices..
  • I considered adopting a Hornbill from the aviary, but then didn't because I don't want the other birds to think I have favorites... they know..
  • I sang at yet another friends wedding, which makes me officially a wedding singer that never gets paid.
  • Almost quit my job until I realized that I need money to live.
  • Saw Little Women, the play, and didn't cry. Does that make me a robot?
  • Saw my first ballet and now have tickets to see it again.. it doesn't make me less of a man.
  • I had a birthday and realized birthdays are like New Years Eve, a lot of hype leading to disapointment.
  • I now drink Coke Zero instead of Mountain Dew, something about pre-diabetes or something..
Oh wait, did I just sneak update you!? You know I did! Suckas!

Ladies and Gentlemen... My new home.
Image
The top pics are the framework for the house and the bottom are the very beginnings, the foundation.
Image
Left top is the garage, Left middle is the upstairs bedrooms, Left bottom is my kitchen.
Top Right is the front door and hallway, Next is the master bed and bath,
Next is a far away look of the living room and at the bottom is the dining area.
It's happening.. now all I need is stuff to go inside the house, but one thing at a time right?
More pictures to come!

A Dose of Happiness

I have found it really important lately to find simple joys in life, like Coke Zero and YouTube videos.

These are a couple of videos that I found that make me laugh, cry, and just make me happy!

Ben Rector singing I wanna dance with somebody, oh not only singing, but playing the piano, guitar, drums, back-ups vocals, etc.. Amazing. Genius. Fun. You better believe I am going to try and learn this version on the guitar...

I think Kristen Wiig is probably one of the funniest women on the planet. This is one of my favorites.

My good friend, Audrey Bandley, has come out with a new single and a music video to go along with it. It makes me so happy to see my friends doing great things and inspiring people to be themselves. Way to go Audrey!

Beautiful You

My two favorite people collaborating on one of my favorite songs... Yes! Sometimes I pretend that everyone on my iPod knows each other and are friends.. This gives me hope that I'm not completely crazy.. PS Jon McLaughlin is coming to town anyone want to come with me?

Take these with Coke Zero and call me in the morning..
If these things don't bring a little happiness into your life then I don't know what will...

Spring Playlist

By raise of hand, who is trying to get in shape for the summer?
Oh wait, I forget that I am like Helen Keller on this thing...

Let's just assume that you are, shall we? I mean, I know that winter to me is like a huge excuse to pretty much eat as much as possible and sometimes as quickly as possible.. I'm not proud of that, but that's the truth. Then spring creeps up out of nowhere, which sends my sinuses into a hissy because of my horrendous allergies, and I suddenly remember that it's probably not a good idea to eat mixed Trix and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal for breakfast... After I realize that winter has made me pre-diabetic, I am ready to shake it off and conquer the world, one sit-up at a time...

In order for me to do this, I need fun and really upbeat music so, I thought I would share my spring into action playlist just in case you need a little motivation...

Warning:  I emphasize the word "really" because if you have been keeping up with my other music suggestions, this playlist might be... well... shocking. For some reason, I like to run/walk/workout to inappropriate music.. I know this is bad, but it's what makes me dynamic and edgy and in the end, this is probably why we are friends because you except my wide range of musical taste... and just because I know every single word to Get Ur Freak On does not make me a bad person, it just makes me really fun at any karaoke party... So, keep in mind that when you are searching for these songs, you will probably want to search the "clean" versions... my apologies.

Sail - AWOLNATION
My Body - Young the Giant
Control (Gigi Barocco Radio Edit) - Benny Benassi
I Don't Wanna Care Right Now- Lupe Fiasco
Gossip Folks - Missy Elliott (you will need to clean this one up..)
Up All Night - Alex Clare
Something to Die for - The Sounds
Radioactive - Imagine Dragons
Someday's Gone - The All American Rejects
Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)- Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Punching a Dream - The Naked and Famous
Fast Lane - Bad Meets Evil
Bangarang - Skrillex
White Flag - Dave Barnes
On Top of the World - Imagine Dragons

And if you need to cool down after these intense songs, I got ya covered...

Run Away With Me - Tyrone Wells
Heavy and the Slow - Andy Grammer
Dark Days - Punch Brothers
Just a Game - Birdy
Save Me - Nicki Minaj

I warned you, but I am also warning you that your exercise routine just might dig this new music. So, if you want to be like me, put down the sugar cereal mix, grab your inhaler and your iPod loaded with this new music and go for a jog. You can judge me later..

Dear Ke$ha (pronounced kesha...),

Do you or do you not live in a club somewhere in downtown L.A?
You don't have to answer that, but you do, right?
Now that I have that out of the way.. We need to talk about something...

Baby seals..

How did you even know that baby seals existed living in a club?
Did you Google "clubbing" and stumble upon the baby seal footage used in the video?
Be honest..

I just thought your list of priorities went as follows:
1. Booze
2. Clubbing
3. Glitter
4. More booze..
5. Bling

So, you can see that when I saw baby seals on your list of priorities, I was shocked and also a little proud of you for standing for something else besides drugs and alcohol. Good for you. I'm not sure how Canada will feel about this, but good for you.

Yours truly,
Lamb

PS. This video was shot in a backroom of a club, right?
