Let’s Go Zero is the national campaign for all schools, colleges and nurseries to be zero carbon by 2030.
Let’s Go Zero brings support, guidance and opportunities to more than 7,000 schools, representing more than two million young people. We’re a fast growing movement – more than 2,000 schools have signed up since September 2024.
Our work with individual schools makes them healthier, happier, greener places to work and learn. It lowers energy bills, as well as emissions. And it empowers school staff and young people, as well as their communities, to get involved in climate action.
Support includes free, tailored guidance from our Climate Action Advisors, who help schools monitor their carbon impact, create plans for change, and deliver green projects and upgrades. We also spark change with competitions, webinars and newsletters, inspiring success stories, and events that schools around the UK can get involved in.
“Let’s Go Zero is so flexible about working to schools’ needs – I can say it’s one of the best organisations I’ve worked with in 30 years of education – non-judgmental, supportive, hugely productive and constructive in terms of the guidance you can get.”
Will Keddie, headteacher, Finham Park 2 School, Warwickshire
We are proud delivery partners in the Feasibility and Pathfinders stages of the Department for Education’s Net Zero Accelerator Project – working to support 25 schools with intensive energy behaviour change. In July 2025, we were formally appointed as delivery partners for the government’s Great British Energy Solar Partnership – supporting over 50 schools in the North West of England with intensive energy behaviour change.
Our Innovative Finance Project, in partnership with the Green Finance Institute, is exploring new ways to unlock public and private funding to scale the decarbonisation of schools.
Our Zero Carbon Fund has granted a total of £500,000 to five regional and national projects with the power to lower emissions at multiple schools.
We’re calling on government to take four steps that will create healthier, happier, net zero schools.
Our Zero Carbon Fund has given five innovative organisations £100,000 each, to develop tools and initiativies that will scale up net zero schools around the UK.
Financing building upgrades is a major barrier for tens of thousands of schools. The Innovative Finance Project explores systemic change that could create national impact.
Let’s Go Zero was launched in 2020. Since 2023, our primary funder has been Green Future Investments Limited (GFIL). GFIL’s enthusiastic commitment has grown Let’s Go Zero to be the biggest, most impactful school sustainability movement in the UK. We’ve also been supported by OVO Foundation and IKEA.
We work collaboratively with government, the private sector and a wide range of education and sustainability organisations.

We’re proud to work with impactful climate and education organisations, who share our ambition to cut carbon emissions and make schools better places to learn and work.
