​Cillian Murphy was great as the "straight man" slowly going a little crazy. Seeing him outside of his usual intense roles was refreshing, and he delivered some total meme-worthy moments of pure confusion. ​I really liked Triangle of Sadness, so it makes sense that I also really liked Force Majeure. Ruben Östlund is a master of awkward, primal human behaviour and has this incredible way of balancing total absurdity with genuine human nature. The premise here of a father running away from an avalanche and the subsequent breakdown of the family unit is just *chef's kiss.

My favourite part of La Haine is when I took my first breath in 90 minutes at the end.

A visually arresting film, showcasing incredible panning, swivel, and overhead shots over the streets, creating a powerful sense of observation.
