LibreOffice 26.2.0 (2026-02-04) - Latest Release
The latest release of LibreOffice, recommended for technology enthusiasts, early adopters and power users, which contains new features and program enhancements. This version may contain a few annoying bugs which will be fixed in the next minor releases to come, although it is stable enough for most basic tasks.

Great community assistance. There is a native stable M1/ARM (aarch64), but not available on the typical LibreOffice.org site (look to download.documentfoundation.org)...

It is amazingly easy to use out the box if you have used Word before, and has all the functionality 99% of users will need. After a couple of years of using this I now find Word harder to use than Libreoffice. I cannot understand why anyone would pay for a word processor when something this good is free

v24.2.2 is a BETA release (at least by my definition). "If you're a technology enthusiast, early adopter or power user, this version is for you!" - - I.E. that's why it doesn't show up in LibreOffice as an update. Don't bother with it unless you want to beta test it.

Version: 24.2.2
Suffers from the same design faults as Office, which it strives to imitate. The ribbon occupies valuable real estate. Since a window is wider than it is tall, it makes much better sense to have this function at the sides. If anything, LibreOffice suffers worse from bloat than Office. Way too many features. Truly an app designed by a committee.
