“Passion Project” revolves around love, romance, and relationships. Originally conceived as a lovey-dovey, warm-sounding mixtape, the album began to write itself after combing through old instrumentals from my friend “SERVPH!!” one summer night. 

Played front-to-back, it follows the natural progression of meeting someone for the first time, to breaking up with them, to moving on to someone new, to breaking up with that person, to moving on on your own.  

Breaking down the title, the main through-line is this: You can have a love for someone (Passion) and you can have a love for your craft (Project).

My debut album and the second installment of my 「ハーフ」series. 

SHIKATAGANAI means "It can't be helped" in Japanese and can be taken in a positive or negative light, depending on how you look at things, which plays into the overall theme of the album -- duality. With the album taking inspiration from the second act of three-act story structure, it is a little dark and has touches of melancholy here and there from the beats to the lyrics, but like everything in life, it's not all bad!  Even the most powerful storm dies down, eventually.
