Wonderful trip! Took my girls snorkeling for the first time and the crew was amazing! So fun and helpful. The boat captain was great and most of the crew got in the water with them. The trip goes quite a long distance out on the ocean to the reef. The waves were huge so a lot of people got seasick but that’s just nature, can’t control it. My girls had an unforgettable first time and were amazed at all of the exotic fish they saw including a nurse shark!
Would absolutely go out with this crew again, they made it so fun! Oh and pay extra for wetsuits, my girls didn’t freeze like many others bcuz they had full wetsuits on. WELL worth the extra small charge.

We went out with Captain Hook snorkeling on the Holiday Princess and it’s amazing crew! Great location, easy to park, they even supply sunscreen and all snorkeling equipment if you need it! We brought our own. What is nice about this outfit is after 45 minutes snorkeling at one mooring on Looe Key they move to a different spot for another 45 minutes of snorkeling! A couple pro tips: bring snacks bc snorkeling makes ya hungry! Bring cash to tip the amazing crew that made your day so fun!

Amazing time snorkeling with Captain Hooks! The captain and crew were all wonderful and very attentive to everyone on board. Both locations on the reef we went to were absolutely beautiful! My little guy didn’t end up wanting to get in the water and Lisa let him hang out on board while the rest of us snorkeled. They even let him steer the boat on the way back! Amazing time will 100% go again next time we visit.

Big Pine

During my visit I planned on diving at Marathon Key Florida, but was not sure who to choose as there are many dive shops available. I decided to travel around and check out some of them. I settled on Captain Hook and was very pleased with the outcome. They have a very professional staff And they are very knowledgeable and have been handling dives for well over two decades. They have all the gear that you need, which is good since I forgot some of my own.

On our dive, we had four divers and about 10 snorkelers and there’s plenty to do and see for everybody. Our dive master was excellent and she did a fine job. The captain was a seasoned veteran and handled the boat expertly and his crew was right on top of things and they knew exactly what to do every step of the way. One thing that would’ve been a nice treat would be to have some orange slices available after our dive. Between the dry air from the tanks and the seawater having something to get rid of the taste, would’ve been welcome.

The next time I plan a visit to Marathon Key, I will look up Captain Hook and plan on diving with them in the future. The price was very reasonable at about $100 for a two tank dive and I rented all of the gear including a wetsuit for about $39. I did not have a dive computer, but for these short dives and not very deep to visit the coral reefs, it was really not needed.

5 star day. Just got back from a phenomenal day of diving. I’ve had a lot of dives in the Keys, and my experiences have varied from “excellent” to “why am I doing this?” (and everything in between.) Today was one of the best dive days I can remember. Full disclosure, I’m embarrassed to admit that I didn’t realize diving in the Mid-Keys could be this good.
The folks at Captain Hooks are awesome. I was a walk-in yesterday, (Marathon) just wanting to get a little info and a feel for the place. The woman who helped me gave some great insight, so I booked online last night. (That whole process was super easy.) Prices are very reasonable. The same person checked me in today. (I don’t remember her name, but she deserves a shout-out.)

Captain Ron (yes, like the movie) and his crew: Jared, Gary aaaand…shoot, Alicia? (🤦‍♂️sorry!!)… were top-notch. The crew was all very helpful and knowledgeable. We were fortunate with weather conditions- clear visibility, low wind, not choppy, mild currants, and plenty of beauty to see. The crew-to-diver ratio was minimal. (The boat was not overly packed.)

I’ll take their recommendation, and check out the BPK location next weekend.

Pleased to know I don’t have to go up to Key Largo or down to KW to get this kind of experience. Thank you!

I can’t say enough great things about my experience with Captain Hooks and their incredible instructors, Joey and David! From start to finish, everything was absolutely top-notch.

The team was professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, patient. As a new diver (Second time diving with Captain Hooks), I felt completely safe and supported throughout the entire process. They took the time to explain everything in detail, ensuring I was comfortable and confident before getting in the water. Their passion for diving and marine life was contagious, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Once underwater, it was truly magical. The instructors guided us seamlessly, pointing out incredible marine life and making sure we had an unforgettable dive. Their expertise and calm demeanor made it easy to relax and fully enjoy the experience.

Whether you’re a first-time diver or a seasoned pro, I can’t recommend Captain Hooks and their amazing team enough. If you’re looking for an adventure that is both thrilling and safe, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back for more dives in the future!

I chose Captain Hooks because of the reviews.  I looked for things like great experience, going the extra mile, friendly customer service, and reliability (of the dive boat and equipment).

I couldn't have been happier.  Hayden, Max, and Troy were exceptional dive masters.  They are not only friendly, they go out of their way to make sure you are getting the most out of it.  Hayden gave an excellent dive brief, Max went out of his way to look for a better dive on day 2 at Looe Key due to conditions, and Troy is a fun DM who really had an eye for marine life and looking for the coolest things to see.  Max even offered to take my GoPro and I was treated to being filmed for once!

Boat Captains Billy and Joe were very nice and helpful.  The staff really goes out of their way, offering snacks, looking for dolphins, etc.  I liked the attention to safety, logging air pressure, making sure people dive within their limits.

I will ONLY go with these guys if I return to Key West for diving,  because they lived up to the reviews.  Thank you!

Over the last 4 months, I have had the pleasure of  diving and forming friendships with the staff and local divers at Captain Hooks. The professionalism and welcoming personalities form a family that stretches from the middle to the end of the keys. The  three locations (Marathon,  Big Pine, and Key West) enable divers to experience unique sections of the reef ecosystems. Since this network offers many opportunities to explore the diverse locations, you really get to know the divemasters, boat captains, deck mates/rescue divers, and support staff in the stores. Everyone is eager to share how magical the reef ecosystems are and every trip is customer focused on providing the best experience possible. (They took us out on the town and showed us the best local hangouts! David even invited us to a chef's specialty Thanksgiving at his house!) We love this diving family so much, we signed up to go on a Little Cayman's dive trip and my daughter's Christmas present was a week to come down and dive with everyone. If you are in town, come dive with us and leave with unforgettable memories.

Captain Hooks is absolutely amazing. Did “Dive in a Day” for myself and my 10 year old. They made it easy with the online training and then the day started with going over some important learning points and then we went to the pool to get used to the equipment and practice. After lunch we did two beautiful open water dives. Sam and Lisa were our Dive Masters and they were incredible. Very kind and patient and were incredible with my 10 year old. They made sure we were safe and comfortable and could really enjoy the dives. It was perfect. I’d go back to them in a second for any diving needs, courses, etc in Key West.

If you’re looking to snorkel or dive? THIS IS the crew to do it with!!
We did a snorkel trip out to Looe Reef and this was a highlight of my trip. I saw incredible fish, coral, and eels. We did a snorkel tour in key west and it was nothing compared to our trip with Captain Hook. We visited two spots with divers and the crew was super friendly, the boat wasn’t overly full and the captain gave great tips on where to snorkel while also hosting lots of divers who were various groups. I loved the whole vibe and can’t recommend this outfit enough.

What a fantastic trip! I snorkeled but it was about 50/50 on the boat with snorkelers/SCUBA training. Their prices are fantastic! The reef was beautiful! The crew and trainers were personable yet professional. I'll definitely be back!

This was my first time snorkeling and I had SUCH a blast. We saw so many fish, a few sharks, some stingrays, and even a HAMMERHEAD!

The crew, Jenna and Malcolm were very knowledgeable about snorkeling and the reef we visited. Both were very helpful, always pointing out the cool stuff other snorkelers were seeing to make sure we got the best out of our time. Jenna even went out of her way to take pictures for us on our phones so we could look back as soon as we left.

Looe Key is the place to be and these folks are the group to go with. Do it, do it, do it.
