Om Tom is the Indonesian Studies and International Relations persona of Thomas Begg.

Om Tom travels the Indo Pacific seeking stories that cross borders and help us understand each other and ourselves.

Om Tom was born in Papua New Guinea, grew up in Australia, studied in Indonesia and worked in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Timor Leste.

Om Tom is the culmination of many years working, studying and volunteering in International Relations. It is intended as a positive contribution to regional Cultural Diplomacy through entertainment that informs and creates conversation.

This work was developed as the creative research portion of a Masters in Creative Industries, and builds on a previously completed Bachelor of Arts in Indonesian Studies and International Relations.
