STOPSTRAAT

We are STOPSTRAAT, a student band based in Potchefstroom, North West, where we all study at the North-West University. We are an alternative band with a punk rock sound, consisting of five best-friends-turned-band-members. While our own music is written in Afrikaans, we also perform a variety of English songs to cater to a larger audience and include everyone in the STOPSTRAAT experience. We are enthusiastic, talented, and prepared to work hard to achieve success as a band. We strive to be down-to-earth and confident in our image and sound, because we write music for the outsiders, the weird kids, the misfits, the misunderstood. After all, at the end of the day, that’s who WE are. And if we can connect with those people the way we connect with our favourite bands, then we have succeeded in our mission. We are Afrikaans. We are Rock. We are the Revolution. We are STOPSTRAAT.
