When in Plymouth….eat seafood! And Tavern on the wharf is a great place to go. Casual ice atmosphere with a live band on Fridays ( they were good). The service overall was very good except they forgot our soup and then brought it with our meal . BUT the clam chowder was very tasty. I had stuffed quahog for the first time and it was delicious! I could have made it the meal😎. My stuffed haddock was awesome. Light and flavorful. Nice touch on the side salad was granting my request for crumbly blue cheese on it. Overall I really enjoyed my meal!
The food overall was quite good, with the raw bar being a standout highlight—both the tuna and oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful, showcasing the restaurant’s attention to quality seafood. However, I was slightly disappointed with the cod risotto. While the presentation was appealing, the dish didn’t quite meet my expectations in terms of flavor balance or texture. It felt like it could have used a bit more seasoning or a touch of creativity to match the excellence of the other menu items That said, the ambience and service were outstanding. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming vibe, perfect for a relaxed evening by the water. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about the dining experience. Overall, I’d happily recommend Tavern on the Wharf, especially for seafood lovers. I’d return for the raw bar and the great atmosphere, but might explore other main courses next time
Went for brunch, and the food was awesome. We had the meatlovers omelets and Bananas Foster and Lobster Benny. The servings are so big we all took half our food home and left full. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Our server was on top of everything and kept checking on us until the very end where they disappeared, and we didn't see them for a while. It took probably 15-20 mins for her to reappear to ask her for the check. Other than that, awesome brunch all around. Definitely going back and would recommend.
