The night before surgery was a little tricky he could not eat past 1:30am and his surgery was at 7:30am in the morning. We also did not want to out him to bed We just wanted to hold him.
Morning of surgery (we are at St. Joes out patient) we were so nervous so many emotions were running wild!
I was worried to hand him over but fortunately they made it so easy and he will go with anyone! The surgery was a total of 2 hours I read magazines bit my nails, played games on my phone, but my nails! My heart was pounding when we saw the surgeon and he said everything went great and he is waiting for us in recovery. He informed us that his nose was a little flat and that he was super swollen and that he would probably need another surgery of his nose doesn't form a peek. He then walked us down the hall and one of the nurses were holding him.
When I saw him I was fighting back tears I didn't want his surgeon to think I was not happy with his work he just didn't look or act like the baby I had handed over. I told Neil I can't do this his lip started to bleed and he was spitting up blood. I didn't know how I was gonna take care of him this week! We stayed for a bout a half our and them they sent us home. I was scared to death!
When we got we first tried to feed him he couldn't have pain medicine if he couldn't eat. He had a hard time eating with his bottle so I decided to try a syringe it took along time to get even an ounce down him!
This picture was taken about 5 hours after surgery I cannot believe how much the sweeping had already gone down.
Day 2
Our first night was rough we took turns with him in the middle of the night unfortunately we were already both so tired from no sleep the night before surgery. He loves to be pushed in the stroller so Neil took him out for a walk at 2:30am and then I took him for a walk at 5:00am.
Day 3 he also slept in the swing cause he loves sleeping on his stomach so luckily we were able to keep him happy swinging.
Day 4 he was starting to feel like himself he was able to roll over with is splints on
Day 5
A few ways we tried feeding him!
The bulb was clean!
Our baby hitler mustache was coming in! He finally was starting to smile by the second day but when he would start he would automatically stop cause it probably didn't feel to good he was soo happy when the kids came home especially paisley!
After 11 days we went back into the surgeon and he removed the scab off his lip! It's so fun to see him smile we love this lil guy so much!
