This is the picture that showed up on my phone mid-afternoon today, so the title of the post isn't exactly accurate. If this had been written this morning, it would have been accurate, so I am going with it.
Anyway, Abby has been waiting for this day for 2 years. She has been the only child in her class for at least 6 months that had yet to lose a tooth. We have read loose tooth books, and we have examined her teeth countless times looking for that one to finally become loose. So when she discovered her first real loose tooth a couple of weeks ago she was ecstatic and determined that it would fall out at school. DETERMINED!
In fact, she had me check her tooth Sunday night before bed. Yes, it was loose but I thought to myself that she would probably still have all of her teeth in our vacation pictures this year. Abby, though, had other plans. According to her teacher, Mrs. Byerly, she arrived at school and immediately asked her to check it. "It is not ready yet; it will hurt. Maybe if you keep working on it..." Abby apparently spent the remainder of the day obsessing over and wiggling the little critter. By pure will (and swollen gums), it was loose enough to pull by the end of the day. VICTORY! She arrived home sporting a fancy little tooth necklace and a hole in her mouth.
Now to see if the tooth fairy shows up. Abby wrote her a note asking her to please leave her tooth.
**The tooth fairy did come, left $5 (first teeth are worth their weight in gold), and left the cutest ugliest little tooth you have ever seen.**
