Last min errands...

Do you ever have one of those days when you go to lunch and then run lots and lots of errands then you pull in the driveway only to see that your lunch has spilled all down your shirt?
I just did...

Congrats!!

Dane received an upgrade today to be an FO (first officer) on the 328!! He starts training tomorrow which puts a little crimp in our Christmas plans but for this, who cares!?! He will have to go to Canada for a week to train (probably the first of January) so I told him I was going to go with him and see the sights while he is in training :)
Congrats Dane! WOOT WOOT!!

Thanksgiving

Ok so I know I am really far behind on my Thanksgiving post but I just got around to downloading the pictures. This year Dane was on call on Thanksgiving so I went to Vegas so we could at least be together for the Holiday. His parents ended up going to SLC so this was our first Thanksgiving all alone to cook up a delicious meal. The night before we made the sweet potatoes so we didn't have quite so much to do the next day. Then Thanksgiving morning I decided I should make homemade rolls since it is Thanksgiving and all so I make the dough and then a few hours later, I noticed it hasn't risen at all. I decided I better pull out the Rhodes just in case. Then the turkey is about 30 mins away and we have no rolls ready to go so I tell Dane, sorry we are not going to have rolls with dinner but we will have fresh ones for leftovers later. Other then our rolls, our dinner turned out incredible!!! I love Thanksgiving!

There's nothing like clean feet...

So I was just in the bathroom at my work which let me put a side note in...our bathrooms are not the cleanest. erin and I cringe when we have to go but we manage to make it through. Let me give you an example of the clean level of our bathrooms, in one of the sinks someone had brushed their teeth and left a little toothpaste spit dribble in the sink. I kid you not it was there a MONTH before the sink was washed enough to clean it off. Anyway back to my story, I was just finishing up in the stall when two girls come in and one says, I was too lazy to put on my shoes. I was immediately disgusted but thought oh well to each their own but then when I was washing my hands I saw that she was not only shoe-less she was also sock-less! She was bare foot in a public bathroom! It was so gross and it just reminded me of when Britney Spears walked into the nasty gas station bathroom barefoot. BLAH!!!

Halloween Fun!!

The Halloween celebrations for me started on Thursday night. erin, James, John and Susan were headed up to Lindsay and Haydn's for scary movie night and we decided to have an easy dinner of pizza. I used the online ordering system because it has never failed me in the past but when the confirmation didn't come through I got a little worried so I called the store to see if they had received my order. When the guy answered I simply said,
"I just put an order in online and I wanted to make sure you received it because I haven't gotten a confirmation"
his response..."Didn't I just talk to you?"
"no this is the first time I have called." Then he looked in their computer and they didn't have our order so I asked if I could place it with him now,
his response..."I guess". (at this point I should have just hung up and headed to Little Cesears but alas, I pressed on) I proceeded to order the pizzas,
"1 pepperoni"
"did you know this comes with up to three toppings would you like any others"
"No we just want a plain pepperoni"
"Would you like to triple the pepperoni then"
"fine triple the pepperoni"
"1 pepperoni and sausage"
"which topping would you like to double"
"Sausage"
"For the last one I would like Pineapple, Tomato & Mushroom"
"ewe that sounds disgusting" (granted I do get that response a lot)
"It sounds weird but it is really good"
"it sounds like a girly pizza...what is it, your time of the month"
I kid you not, those are the words that came out of his mouth. I told him that I actually wasn't even though I should have said I will be taking our order elsewhere. Anyway we finally got our pizzas, enjoyed a nice dinner and then erin, Lindsay and I started working on our Halloween costumes for the next days activities.

On Friday I had a costume contest at work so I woke up early with Lindsay to help me get ready. Can you guess who I am...

Image

On Friday night Brynn and Mac had a Halloween party so Lindsay, Haydn and I dressed up again and headed out the door. Although most people didn't know who we were, we had the most creative costumes!

Image

Saturday morning everyone got together at my mom's for pumpkin carving! (my personal favorite part of Halloween) this year I made two pumpkins, I guess as a way to make up for Dane's missing pumpkin :) I made Oogie-Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas and the Kool-aid man. Both turned out pretty good. The one crappy thing about our pumpkin carving this year is that it was during the day so we didn't get a good night picture with all our pumpkins glowing.

The Sweet Smell of Exercise

Lindsay, Haydn and I have started P90X and it has been kicking our butts. Speaking of butts, exercise has a tendency to make Lindsay and Haydn both have a high amount of flatulence. Every lunge (pfft) every jumping jack (pfft) about every other sit up (pfft...pfft...pfft) The other night while we were working so hard and our muscles were on fire because they were so tired, Haydn let out a particularly loud PFFT and we chuckled then the smell reached my nose! I had to run out of the room to keep from dry heaving and had to continue my jumping jacks down the hall! It was terrible! So be warned if you come near the house while we are exercising there might be a stench leaking out of the house!

Disneyland!

We started our adventures in Disneyland on Monday and our first ride...Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy!! This was the first year they made the ride Halloweeny and it was so fun! As you're climbing the hill and the music is playing in your ears all of a sudden you hear a cackle and the ride turns spooky! They had laser images for ghosts and skeletons and at one point it looks like a giant hand is reaching out to swipe you right out of the ride! It was really neat!

Image

Then since Dane and I have never been to Disneyland for Halloween we headed to the Haunted Mansion and I loved it!! I liked it better then how it is normally decorated! (dane like the original way better) I tried to take some pics during the ride but I don't think they turned out very good

Image

The next day we headed to California Adventure. It was so fun to see it decorated for Halloween, right at the entrance they had Candycorn Acres and there was candycorn galore! They had candycorn pumpkins, candycorn tomatos, candycorn corn, candycorn grapes everything you can think of growing on a farm and they turned it into candycorn!

Image

The last day we woke up early and got lots of pictures with the characters, they were all right at the entrance dressed up for Halloween, it was really fun to see them.

Image
I just love Halloween and Disneyland so we had a BLAST!!! We will have to go again soon...maybe next year :)

Fan or Not...

When it comes to cheering for BYU or Utah I don't really have a preference, to be honest I don't like either (I just like to cheer for BYU to harass Dane :) ) I just found this video on YouTube and I don't care if you are a Y fan or not, this will make you throw up in your mouth a little!

Sad but True...

Our little family of three is now a family of two. Last Monday (8/31) our little Herbie went for a walk and never came home. I have been hoping for the past week that we will be outside one day and she will be there just hanging out but I have given up the search. Luckily my sisters house has a lot of brush and trees around so I honestly thing Herbie is loving life somewhere and I still hope that next spring when they are working in their garden they will find her. Until then, we will miss Herbie, she has been in our family for over 10 years and if we don't ever find her, I hope that she finds a family who will take care of her.

It's Official....

I AM A SEWING MACHINE OWNER!!!!

Image

I have been saving my money since Christmas (thank you to all those who contributed) and then a couple of weeks ago I went with Lynette, Keri and my mom to test drive a few and I fell in love with this one that was luckily in my price range. It is still sitting in the box but with the purchase I get three classes to learn how to use it and I can't wait to get started!! My first project might have to be something for baby Max! (no we are not making an announcement, that is my nephew that is going to be born at the end of this month :) )

Bearlake

We were able to spend last weekend at bearlake! Since Lynette is ready to have a baby, she sent Chad and the boys to the lake along with my parents and G-ma Bonnie. We had so much fun! We were able to get G-ma Bonnie to the beach for the first time in at least 20 years and then we got her to go on a boat ride! I think she loved it!

BIG Week!!

Last week my family was able to go up to the cabin at bearlake for the 4th. Dane and I knew there was no way he would be able to go so I took some time off work and headed up with my parents and my sister. We left on Wednesday and had a little bit of a rough start, with a blown tire on the boat trailer but once that was fixed it was smooth sailin'! (just a quick side note, I found my Mt Dew Throwback at the Walmart in Evenston and my mom wouldn't let me buy the whole shelf, but I still stocked up!) On Thursday, Chad's family came up and it was really fun to see Zoie, Bryce and Tyler playing on the beach, I think they loved every minute of it! Dane surprised me on Thursday by telling me that he was able to switch his schedule around and he will be able to fly into SLC on Friday morning. Haydn was planning on driving up on Friday so it worked out perfectly and our whole family was at the cabin at the same time...I don't think that has ever happened! Oh and I don't want to forget, Herbie came with us and she loved it too!

Image

We got home from the lake on Sunday night but luckily Dane didn't have to be back at work until Wednesday so we had two more days together. On Monday we decided to make a day of it so while I was at work Dane went with his Grandpa to the farm and got to drive the tractor. Dane absolutely loved it and had so much fun at the farm. I think he would move there if he could :)

Image

After I got off work, we decided to head up to Park City and ride the Alpine Slide. We got there fairly early so the slide and the coaster weren't crowded at all! We tried out the new Alpine Coaster and I really liked it. I liked that you could go as fast as possible without the fear of flying off the track but Dane liked the Alpine Slide better just for the reason that you have the chance of flying off the track. Dane did lose his hat half way down the Alpine Slide so we bought a new one that he is sporting in one of the pictures. I tried not to make this too long but we had a really good time this last week and as Lindsay pointed out to me today, this was the longest Dane and I have seen each other since March...CRAZY!!

Can I hear a WOOT WOOT!!!

That's right we have a BIG day to celebrate! Dane accomplished something HUGE today...he hit

1000 HOURS!!!

Hooray!!! Congrats Dane!!

Winner, Winner!!

Last weekend I was able to go to Vegas to see Dane and when I got there on Friday afternoon, he surprised me with a little romantic dinner at Panevino, it was so nice!! We got a table right next to the window and could see the sunset and had a nice view of the strip when the lights were on. The food was absolutely delicious! We even spoiled ourselves and ordered Creme Brulee for dessert and it was so good!

Image

The next day we went to Transformers 2 and it was good, I had heard a lot of bad things about it so then when I saw it, I thought it wasn't as bad as everyone said. After that we headed over to Mike & Becky's for a surprise party. We ate lots of delicious food and played Rock Band, it was a really fun time. Later that night we decided to play some Bingo, cause let's be honest, it had been awhile since we last played. Then during game two Dane taps me and says I'm one number away from winning and then O-61 was called and he was the BIG WINNER!!! He yelled Bingo and they announced 'possible winner' then the lady came over to verify it and sure enough it was valid so he won $100!! HOORAY!! We love bingo!

Check out this pure beauty...

You know those dumb injuries that we all get but are so annoying? Granted I think I get a few more then the average person; paper cuts, bruises from running into things, stubbed toes (the number of times I have done that has easily doubled since living with Lindsay and her make-shift gate for her stairs) tonight I had a doosie! I was closing the bi-fold closet door in my room and I pinched my finger and now I have this beauty:

Image

That's right a massive ugly blood blister!! Of course it’s on my pointer finger on my right hand so I have to be careful so it won’t pop! What an ugly yet ridiculous wound, there's not even a good story behind it!!

The Holding Pattern Continues...(hee hee pun intended)

For those of you who know Dane and I are kind of in limbo about our future plans, there is a possibility of moving to Vegas, Miami or even as bad as it is, another furlough. Last night Dane had a meeting and it was decided for the next two months Miami would be part of all the pilots schedule so Dane will be working one week in Vegas, two weeks in Miami and have one week off. That's how it stands as of now. Hopefully we will have another update in August!

Shooting...

Dane and I decided to go shooting with his friend Rob while I was in Vegas on Saturday. Note, for those of you who don't know me that well, the only time I have held a real gun was when I was in Alaska and our fishing guide needed both hands to fix my line so he handed me the shotgun. I held it as far away from me as possible and he couldn't be done fixing my line fast enough. Since meeting Dane, he has wanted to buy a gun but I have been pretty persistant in saying no, mostly because we don't own a house or have a safe to put it in but this weekend he successfully talked me into going shooting for the first time ever. Rob was a really good teacher and didn't push me too much, just let me shoot what I wanted (which wasn't a lot but it was a first step for me). It turns out the one I liked to shoot the most was the first one he had me try and of course it was one he got when he was a kid so I doubt Dane and I will ever find one like it to buy. The one Dane liked to shoot the best (I bet you can't guess :) ) but it was one you have to lay on your stomach to shoot! It was MASSIVE! I would tell you the names of the guns in the pictures but I have no idea what they are :)

Ahh...Bear Lake!

This weekend I was able to go to Bear Lake and the last time I was there was in 2007! I missed a whole summer! Anyway, I left Salt Lake on Friday and the rain was coming down like crazy but then I get to the lake and the sun is out and it is beautiful! Couldn't have planned that any better :) When I pulled out of Logan Canyon to the street that goes around the lake, I got super excited because they have now added a four way stop! For those who have never come that way, you have no idea how long you would have to wait to turn left during those busy summer weekends. I turn left to start heading around the lake when I see on my right....a Cafe Sabor! That's right, the little restaurant in Logan has opened another location in Bear Lake! I will have to take my family next time we are there. I get to the cabin and start walking around to check out all the new things I have missed and this year we added a new front deck, it looks so good!! Below is a wonderful pic so everyone can see...

Image

Also, my main project this week was to work on a quilt. I have really wanted to learn how to quilt but I have been afraid of it but I decided to start with an easy pattern and see how it goes. This weekend, I finished the whole top! Now I just need to add the borders! I will show a picture of the finished project because it might take me awhile to finish it. (just a little sneak-peak though...it is all Halloween! So cute!!)

Also, this weekend was Aiden's blessing, Bones did such a good job with the blessing and it was really nice to see Dane's family again (too bad Dane had to work). We went to the park after for some food and the rain held off just long enough for us to eat. Everything turned out perfectly! Thanks McCall and Bones!

Oxymoron of the day...

So I was driving along on the freeway today when an undercover cop breezes by me (cause I never speed :) ). She was in one of those new chargers, painted all black and it had the gate thing up between the front and back seats but as she passes me, I notice in her rear window that she has, are you ready for this....stuffed animals! There were some teddy bears, stuffed bunnies, a few winnie the pooh characters and though I couldn't see her face I imagined Trudy from Reno 911 behind the wheel :)

Overhead Compartments

Yesterday I flew home from Vegas and with the little bag I had, I decided to just do the 'Carry-On' route instead of checking my bag. I have to put a little side note here that I always check my bag when I am travelling alone because I always have issues storing or de-storing my bag on the plane because of my short stature but I decided it had been awhile since I last tried it so it was time again. (plus, I would have been charged for a checked bag...LAME) Getting on the plane went smoothly, no one was seated in my area yet so I was able to easily climb on the seat to put my bag in the overhead and get seated. Now the tricky part of getting off the plane in a full isle. I get out to the isle and see that my overhead bin had not been open yet and that a rather tall guy chatting on his bluetooth would get his head clunked as soon as I opened it so I said to him, can you move just a little so I don't knock you on the head and I got no response, so I tapped him on the shoulder and said the same thing but he just gave me a crusty for disturbing the bluetooth conversation so I decided to just open the bin, he had been warned...sure enough clunk...it hit him on the head. So then I grabbed my suitcase and slowly pulled it down and in the process I lost my shoe but I couldn't let go of my suitcase cause it would have toppled on me! So I was stretched holding my suitcase and trying to get my shoe back on and the people behind me kept asking what I was doing so then the red cheeks started and it was taking forever to put my shoe on but at last I did it and got my suitcase down and ran as fast as I could off the plane :)

It's Good to Be Green!!!

I have officially been Wickified!! On Friday I got to go with my all my family and friends to see the greatest play of all time...honestly it is easily tied with Les Mis, Aida, Thoroughly Modern Millie & My Fair Lady for me! I absolutely LOVED it!! I don't want to give anything away for those who haven't seen it but I do have to say that the lady in front of me blocked the stage with her big hair during Popular so when I got home I watched it on youtube and loved it! Anyway, I am just excited so I had to blog about it!!

Love at first sight...

Tonight I went to the mall and decided to park by the new Nordstrom so I could just walk through it and check it out. Of course in order to get to the mall from Nordstrom you have to pass the shoe department (aka: my weakness). I saw the first table and stopped to take a gander picking up a few to look at them and right next to my hand were the most perfect shoes I had ever seen and they made my heart do a little flutter...

Image
Sadly as you can see they are Jimmy Choo's and were quite spendy so I quickly put them down and dashed from the store. On my way out though, I took another longing look at them and wished they were on my feet. So my sweet Jimmy Choo's that I fell in love with tonight, perhaps I will get to wear you in my dreams because if I tried you on in real life, that would be the end of me!!

Stinky Feet Continued...

Today I went to pick up my pants from Banana and of course the same guy that helped me with the alterations (and smelled my feet) was the one to help me again and he remembered me!! My worst nightmares did come true! I just want to wrap this thing up so I could dash! Of course he asked me if I wanted to try them on since he remembered this was the pair of pants he guessed on the alteration since I didn't have my shoes but I just said Nope and headed for the door as quick as possible. Of course on my way out I spotted the cutest spring colored cardigans on sale but I wasn't about to stop!

PS - American Idol again tonight made me continue to love Adam. I just want to see Adam and Allison in the final. I don't know how to post youtube videos on the blog so my links will have to do...

The talk at Banana...

About a month ago I was in Banana Republic looking at the sale rack for something good and a pair of dress pants appeared! They were on sale but still a little pricey but I had a $15 off coupon and I thought to myself, they are dress pants I will wear to work and they will last a few years so it will be ok to spend the money. I get to the counter to check out and they rang up as $25 less then they were marked and the girl informed me that everything in the store was an additional 15% off! Pretty much I scored!! Anyway, I get home and try them on and of course they are about 3 inches too long (sometimes it really stinks being so short) so they have sat in my closet unworn since. Today, however I went back to Banana to get them hemmed. I go into the changing room to put them on and I kept smelling stinky feet smell and I thought no way do my feet stink so I lifted my foot to my face and took a whiff and my foot was stink-free but I kept getting the smell so I picked up my shoe and WOOSH!! My shoes reeked!!! I was so embarrassed at this point and thought I know my feet don't stink so as long as I leave my shoes in the dressing room, I will be ok. The guy comes back and has me stand on the stool thing and asks if I have the shoes I plan on wearing with the pants and of course I didn't so he said, put on the shoes you had on today just so we can get a feel. OH DEAR!! I just kept telling myself if I keep the shoe on we will be ok because the smell will be trapped. So we were measuring and pinning but he was still not getting a good feel for it so he asked that I take off my shoe since it was too bulky. At this point I slipped off my shoe and I could feel the red hotness enter my face! I could smell the nastiness so I knew with him leaning right by my foot pinning that he was probably dying from the smell. I was trapped, there was no getting out of this and all I could think is that I can never come back to this store. Needless to say, he quickly finished pinning and directed me out of the store and I am sure as soon as I left he told all the other workers, because let's face it, I would have!

Should we have a choice...

Image
So today in my class we learned about how boys become boys and girls become girls...very fascinating :) During part of the lecture though he said there are drugs that are currently being researched by the FDA that the mother can take to either kill off the female or male sperm so there is a guarantee of having whichever gender the parents want. When he told us about this, I was really bothered by it and I have been thinking about it since class and it just keeps bothering me. Should we have the power to choose if we want a boy or a girl child? To me it seems really 'The Giver'ish and I don't like thinking that we have control over that in our lives and if this drug is released will the world become lopsided to have more men then women or vice-versa?

My love while Dane's away :)

I have to admit I am not a huge fan of American Idol. I think I can honestly say the only season I watched religiously was the first with Kelly Clarkson. This season however I have caught two episodes fully; Michael Jackson & Mo' Town and all I have to say is...

I HEART ADAM!!

Bobsledding

You would think that the week of Spring Break I would have all the time in the world and I would have posted all about our bobsledding extravaganza by now but sadly the week flew by and my Spring Break was over before I knew it!!

Dane and I were lucky enough a couple of weeks ago to go bobsledding with a former Olympiad from the SLC games on the Olympic Track in Park City! We got there about an hour early so we took a walk around the grounds and saw a lot of the track. We got to see the skeleton start and the Luge start which I hadn't put it together before but they all merge onto the same track. That was really exciting to see it all before we actually went down it. About an hour before our start time, we headed into the building to get checked in and go through the safely orientation. We were told what to do in case of a roll over and all the precautions we should take. The funny thing was during all of this, I was just getting more and more exciting - I had no nerves and neither did Dane! I think something might be wrong with us! Or our mom's just had all the nerves for us :)

We got our helmets fitted and headed out to the top of the track to wait our turn. In our group we were sled number 3 so they called us to the platform when sled 1 was going and reviewed all the safety stuff again and had us put on our helmets and take off my wedding ring - who would have thought but he said the handles are so close to the side of the sled that it would rub the whole time against the metal sled and that's no good.

We then got into the sled and awaited push off, again no nerves for me, I just had a perma-grin on my face and was ready to go! We headed down the track and at first it was a little 'slow' going and the first few turns weren't bad then we hit 'Turn 4' the first G-Force turn and all I can say is WOW!! It was so incredible! I was sitting right behind the driver and I had been told more then once that when you are in that seat you have to be careful that your head doesn't fly forward in those turns and hit the driver cause that would be a little disastrous so on that turn sure enough my head flew forward from the force but I quickly recovered and concentrated really hard for the rest of the ride to not let it happen again! During the ride down my head kept ricocheting back and forth between the two sides of the sled (thank goodness for the helmet) and I thought for sure it was because I am short but then Dane told me he had the same problem. (I guess it could still be because we are short :) ) We zoomed so fast and all the turns were so fun!! We got to the bottom before I could even believe and the thrill ride of our lives was over!!

During the ride, I somehow got my shoe wedged by the brakes where the driver sits, luckily it didn't affect the brakes whatsoever but I still had to get out of the sled shoeless until the driver could un-wedge it. I couldn't lose my flamingo shoe! I am just glad it didn't fly out of the sled! :)

Sorry this post is so long but I couldn't leave out any detail!! Enjoy our pics...

As balanced as a ballarina

Today the snow that came yesterday left the roads and sidewalks and grass quite slick but the sun was out and it was clear after my classes so I assumed that it should have been melting already and wouldn't be slick anymore. Well I got to work and as you can see my missing hubcap car from the picture, I park behind a little snowy mound and walk to the building the picture is being taken from (yes that is my desk). ImageAnyway, I start my trek down the hill and on the second step, WHOOSH my feet slide out from under me and my bum hits the grass then slides to the curb, then not stopping there, I slid right off the curb onto the parking lot asphalt. I can feel that my bum is bruised and my pants are wet but I can't help but start rolling with laughter at myself. Then about two seconds after I start laughing I realize that anyone in the office I work in and the neighboring office could have seen me fall and could now see some random girl sitting on her bum in the middle of the parking lot laughing hysterically and that thought was even more embarrassing then my fall. I quickly stood up and hightailed it to the building where I sat down in my chair and I realized just how sore and wet by bum was! I didn't dare stand up again until I knew it was dry, luckily I had on dark pants today!

PS-Dane and I get to do a bobsled run on Saturday with an ex-Olympiad himself and we are super excited - hence my little countdown on the sidebar

Ode to Cadbury

Why do you tempt me with your chocolaty goodness right before swimsuit season? I have already downed 2 bags by my lonesome and just bought a third. I blame my jiggly bottom on you but I will continue consuming your goodness!

I was supposed to order where...

A couple of night's ago, dane, erin and I went to Iceberg because we were craving some delicious icecream! (James is lame and ditched us for the Jazz game :) ) Anyone that has been to this Iceberg knows that the drive through is a little shaddy and if you aren't paying attention you will miss the important order stop all together! We were waiting in line patiently, because it was a packed night even though it was snowing outside, moving up slowly through the drive though then dane turned the corner and missed the place you are supposed to stop and order. The funny thing is as soon as he made the turn the kid working the window looked out at us and dane realized it right then but there was no going back since the car behind us had already moved up. We ended up just ordering right at the pay window and we were all afraid our shakes were going to be spit in! Alas, they turned out delicious though and we were able to satisfy our tastebuds!

So EXCITED!!

I don't know if you have heard yet but sweet little Miley Cyrus has released her first autobiography at the mere age of 16! I can't believe how inspiring she has been in her few years of life that she already has her own autobiography! It released last Tuesday (Lindsay I think I know exactly what to get you for your birthday! I'm sure her advice will help direct you on how to live the remaining 2/3's of your life!)

Decisions...Decisions

This weekend Dane and I had a hard decision to make. On Friday afternoon Vision (remember them? the company that furloughed Dane last August) anyway, they called Dane and asked him to come back. For his career, it's an opportunity that he can't pass up but for us that means another move, living apart and taking another gamble on a company that already furloughed him once. We decided last night that Dane will take the job and I will stay in good ol' SLC until we feel comfortable about how the company is doing financially. It will be at least until my school is out in May but it might end up being through the summer, which is their busy time for business. Dane and I have run into lots of bumps in the road over the past year but we both think this is a good decision that will help us in the end. Dane starts next Monday so that means we have one more week together - I hope we get lots of date nights :)Image

Sad Day for USU...

This weekend to celebrate Valentine's Day we watched the Aggies battle royal against Boise State to claim a school record of a 20-game winning streak. (yes, dane and I are very romantic :) ) The game ended sadly though with a loss to Boise and my favorite player (and he is my alma mater twice!) Gary Wilkinson fouling out :(

We still LOVE our Aggies though and will continue to cheer them on to the NCAA tournament!

PS-Dane gave me the most delicious chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's! My favorite! Thanks Dane!!

Waxing...

Last night Dane and I went to get our hair done at Andrea's. I got a nice 'color-remover' job (which I am still getting used to because it has been a really long time since I have had light colored hair) and Dane got a styling new haircut. While we were there Andrea waxed our brows because she is so good at it and it is a lot less painful then tweezing! erin and James came over while we were waxing to deliver some delicious shakes to us from the Iceberg (mmm delicious cholocate oreo) Later, I told James about one of Andrea's clients that waxes his nose hairs. (I think that is how it all started anyway, erin correct me if I am wrong) Anyway, after lots of daring back and forth of who will try the waxing James stepped up to the plate! Let me explain how this type of waxing works before I post any pics. You dip the stick they use to smear the wax in the hot wax then roll it around into a ball shape then stick it up your nostril, wait for it to dry then...RIP, you pull that thing out. I am sure everyone just cringed a little thinking about it and thinking how bad it hurts when anything happens in the nose area, even those pesky little zits that cause so much pain!
Image
James was first up and he said it wasn't too bad to rip out but we were all cringing as he counted to three before he ripped it free! Then I went next and I was really nervous when I could feel the wax had dried and it was starting to pull stray hairs cause it was hurting but I bucked up and counted to three then ripped it out!
Image
Truly it wasn't that bad, I am not even trying to make it sound better, I think the under side of your eye-brow hurts worse and if you have ever had another waxing south of the border, this is nothing in comparison to that pain! Anyway, Dane was next to go and Andrea put both sticks up both notrils at once so I think he was the real trooper for having to pull them both out at the same time! Image erin was the only pansy among us and wouldn't give it a try - lame-o!!

Back to School...

This week as been insanely busy but I wanted to update everyone on how we have been since it has been awhile. Dane and I both started school this week. Dane's schedule and mine feel like complete opposites, there were a couple of days this week that we didn't even see each other, other then leaving in the morning and going to bed at night but it will all be worth it when all is said and done. I just finished my second week at my new job and it is busy in itself, I have been trying to get the stuff I am working on, somewhat organized and have a system worked out so it won't be quite so crazy in the future. I LOVE being back in school. I know I probably sound like a dork but it is so exciting being in classes and learning again. All of my classes are so interesting and I have to tell Dane every day about what I learned (He is probably sick of it already :) )
We are still waiting for the 'phone call' from McCall and Bones to let us know their little guy has been born, hopefully any day now, I'm just keep my fingers crossed :)
