April 2011

I decided that I would try writing the happenings of each month with pictures and a "journal"ish entry. Hopefully I will be able to find time for once a month (you'd think it would be easy but not so much). Plus I'm hoping to have this be a sort of journal that I can keep for the kids.

Finally a warm "er" day, although we had tons of snow like 2 days after this.

This month we had our first experience with taking one of the kids in for surgery. Nyree had surgery to fix her belly button, which they called a Urachus. I have to say that I was a bit nervous but Mane was very stressed out about it, which was really sweet. He couldnt even stay in the room when they were placing her IV. I have to mention that the nurses that did the IV were awesome, quick and accurate. I was very pleased.

This is post surgery, she just slept right through the anesthesia wearing off and then kept on sleeping. She only woke up to drink her sugar water, which she downed and then was out again.

Still sleeping.

This is pre op, she got her IV and we were waiting to be taken back. This took forever, and although she was really good up to this point she had had enough and was screaming her head off.

Waiting for the nurse to come get us to take us to the next waiting room.

I'm really excited for the Summer to begin. Lots to look forward to.....

Tala:

Starts soccer in the Fall

I hope to sign him up for swimming for a 4 week period in June but we'll see if I get in, there are only 2 classes on Saturday and 4 slots each. I will be online tomorrow at 8 sharp to try to get one of those spots.

Nyree:

Turns 1 this summer

Still has not turned over more than a hand full of times

Will not crawl, which I'm not really comlaining about but there are times, like right now when it would be nice if she could move her self around. She wants up but then once she's there she can't hold still.

Mane:

Starting school up again this week

Shaved his head despite my answer No, but I am gettign used to it, it's growing on me

Has been working out nearly every day and has lost around 20 lbs

Christy:

Looking forward to Thursdays off when I can do "stay at home mom" stuff like play dates and afternoons at the zoo:)

Here are a few pics from the last few weeks. These first 3 are to prove that her hair really is curly when wet. No curls when her hair is dry yet but I still have hope that as it grows it will have curls :)

Nyree Christine 7/21/2010

Nyree was born on July 21st at 4:05 am. She came pretty quickly with no complications. We were very lucky that everything worked out like it did.
My last day of work was that last Friday so I had a relaxing time with Faitala getting the last few things done. We had decided that Mom would come out on Tuesday just to spend a day or two with us before the baby came. Well, that ended up working out perfect because just a couple hours after she arrived my contractions started to get stronger. We sat and visited pretty late and Mane ended up going to bed since he had to work the next day. Although, before he went to bed he reminded me that it would be nice if I went into labor so he didnt have to work. Well we started to time the contractions around 1 and by 1:30 we were on our way to the hospital. Nyree came about 2 1/2 hours later. She is so beautiful and we are so proud of her.

Faitala did really well with her and actually was very resistant to give her up once he got the chance to hold her.

It was a tiring time for us all, I couldnt stand the bed anymore so Mane took his turn.
