Vienna-based live electronic artist ChrisdeBug is back with her second EP "Manege frei!". This release marks the beginning of her new series "Chrisdebug & her humanoid Companions", in which she collaborates with artists from different genres and backrounds.
Chrisdebug's new EP "Manege frei!" offers with five track a broad spectrum of musical genres that defies easy categorization by embracing influences of electronic music, goa, house, pop, jazz, downtempo, hip-hop, Latin and other genres. The first title "Holding on" features a colloberation with the Austrian producer, saxophone player and composer Markus Pagitsch, shows a dancy 80is-feel song dealing with the sometimes simple but never easy ways of desires.
The track "Manege frei!" sets the tone to a sound that remindes some of a stressed out circus clown at a GOA performance, creating a playful but surrealistic atmosphere.
Then "Money Fame," featuring modular_HALL is intended to show the inner conflict between partly externally imposed cravings and the often numbing opportunities of true reality which is served with influences of bass house and hip hop.
"Some other Day" introduces Boerni, a Vienna-based female singer, performer and zither player and reinvents a song written by ChrisdeBug.
The last title on the EP "What? - Verquere Sache" plays with the possibilities of the old and new fashion of sound and features the classic Casio SK1 sound.

"Manege Frei!" - ChrisdeBug & her humanoid Companions

The word Spompanadln is Austrian slang and refers to "circumstances or behaviors that cause (unnecessary) delays." In six tracks, ChrisdeBug weaves both electronic elements and live instruments like flute into melodies and beats that take you away to unexpected sonic experiences.

Besides four solo songs, there are also two collaborations to discover. The first collaboration, "Strolling" with modular_HALL (also known from Coolnick & HALL) shows the encounter of old and new. Electronic instruments/sound generators like modularset meet the omnichord, invented in the 80s and almost forgotten in the meantime.

In the second collaboration, "RoundTrip", the mastermind of the beat (modular_HALL) is joined by a master on the keys, Aronizer (known from the formation theEkindeR & Glowing Eyes), weaves another layer into the ChrisdeBug world with his epic piano and organ sounds.

"Spompanadln" - ChrisdeBug

"Bitte NEU!" is the third EP by multi-instrumentalist and producer ChrisdeBug from Vienna, Austria. Back on the road with her companions, she once again turns every kind of genre on its head and always offers surprising listening experiences by mixing electronic and live elements. There are echoes of jazz, goa, game music, electronica, techno, pop, downtempo, Latin and much more. Four of the five tracks have been created with musical accompanists who bring their skills and experience to add colour to this new journey.

On the first track ‘Nothing Special going on here! Op.001 in P major' ChrisdeBug has teamed up with her great companion and master of beats modular_HALL for a summery music mix with modular synthesizers, some older synthesizer models, flute and voice.

This is followed by 'Gestern' (translated: Yesterday), a revived track that was originally created by members of the world music orchestra Oficina Art Vienna during a jam session (2010) and was soon almost forgotten again. ChrisdeBug has now resurrected this number with an old Oficina Art accompanists of hers E.f.Breslau on saxophone, combining a mixture of electronic sounds and world music/jazz.

The next song features the Viennese singer, e-zither player and performer Boerni and is intended to show the torn sides of every human being like a collage. The song shows the wonderful alto voice of Boerni and the e-zither, a traditional Austrian instrument in an electronic version.

In fourth song of the EP called ‘G. Dillbern’ ChrisdeBug collaborates with the Birtish producer and vocalist from Essex @dasgoods to create a new version of his song ‘Referenxe’.

The last track 'Antonio the Goldfish' with its bit tune feel is perhaps best described as pixel blues. You can hear a mixture of bit tune, flute and synthesizers.

After her colourful 2024 EP Bitte NEU!, Viennese multi-instrumentalist, producer and sonic explorer ChrisdeBug returns with a new chapter: Take your Chances. 
Once again, ChrisdeBug joined by her humanoid Companions – musical partners who bring their own worlds of sound into a shared playground of electronic textures, live instruments and musical storytelling.
This six-track journey blends electronic and organic soundscapes with Latin, jazz and downtempo influences, exploring the hypnotic line between dream and reality, control and surrender. It challenges listeners to find and take their chances in a seemingly chaotic world. 
The opening track “Don’t Get Lost”, a collaboration with Texan producer Luisa Housworks, combines playful Latin rhythms with subtle German phrasing and a persistent electronic pulse.
The follow-up “Chances” is a darkly grooving Latin-electronica track that sets the emotional tone of the EP.
Its reimagined version “Take your Chances” adds live saxophone by Markus Pagitsch, flute and ChrisdeBug’s voice, expanding the sonic universe into a cinematic melancholic space between dream and dance.
The track “Almost a Pleasant Dream”, featuring Dominik Fuß on trumpet and flugelhorn and Eva Brandner on keys, explores a dreamlike, ambient-leaning atmosphere that subtly blurs the boundary between electronic and acoustic elements.
The final track “Shut Up” takes a more personal turn – reflecting on relationships and shifting worlds – again coloured by light Latin elements and emotive synths. There is also a Remix by the producer Edictum, who transforms the song into a bright Synthwave remix, turning melancholy into movement.

If you ask what is happening here ;-) Well, I switched from a Cubase-based product to Ableton live some time ago and am trying to learn more ;-) 

So I made a mini circus-goa-tech-whatever-you-say-it-is-song that was actually meant for beat practicing.  It's a bit circus-like, so: Manege frei! subtitled: "Stressed out clowns" ;-)  

For this little one I made some colourful video again with a little bit of AI and some rushy footage of a small trip to Innsbruck and some sportive bikers in Vienna :-) If you wanna listen to the whole track you can hear/see on my youtube /@chrisdebug or on my soundcloud /chrisdebug

Since I am not sure if I mixed it the right way (usually don't do so bassy music) , so I guess earphones maybe an upgrade for the experience ;-)

There is a song with a great new collaboration partner of mine: Boerni, who has a wonderful voice and also plays electric zither (which is actually an traditional Austrian instrument and seldomly found as an electronic 🔌 version). We met rather by chance, but sometimes it's just from such coincidences that something new arises. 🌞 So I'm proud to show you a small snippet of the new track "Grasshopper"

The song is meant to show collage-like the torn sides of (I guess) each person. It is meant to show on one side the lostness/helplessness that can overtake you in everyday life. In the second half you can hopefully hear that it always goes up again ;-)

‘Money Fame’ is the single release from the EP ‘Manege Frei’ by Viennese multi-instrumentalist and producer Chrisdebug & her humanoid Companions.

This release contains a clean version of the single originally released in March 23 and is the result of a collaboration with Viennese beatmaker, producer and vocalist modular_HALL.

There is also a pure beat version of the song as well as a Remix by ChrisdeBug called "I feel numb".
The song "Money Fame" is meant to show the inner conflict between desires that are sometimes imposed from the outside and the often numbing possibilities of true reality, served up with influences from bass house and hip hop.

The track “Don’t Get Lost”, a collaboration with Texan producer Luisa Housworks, combines playful Latin rhythms with subtle German phrasing and a persistent electronic pulse.

The reimagined version of "Chances" is “Take your Chances” which adds live saxophone by Markus Pagitsch, flute and ChrisdeBug’s voice, expanding the sonic universe into a cinematic melancholic space between dream and dance.


The track “Almost a Pleasant Dream”, featuring Dominik Fuß on trumpet and flugelhorn and Eva Brandner on keys, explores a dreamlike, ambient-leaning atmosphere that subtly blurs the boundary between electronic and acoustic elements.
