Dressed to impress

This was all her.  I wasn't going to stop her from dressing to impress.  Thankfully she was just going out back to use her binoculars for bird watching.  I made her change out of her pajamas before we left the house

Here comes the bride...

While in rest time little one asked if she could dress up.  When she came down she was wearing her play wedding dressed.  She asked me if she could wear that thing I put on my head.  After realizing what she wanted I knew I needed to take a picture fast because she would not want to keep my veil on very long.  She allowed for two quick pics before pulling it off.  Afterwards I sent the pics to Jason and his response was to that I needed to stop watching those wedding shows.  Ha!

Who Rocks?!?

Today we had her first soccer game ever.  I am not going to lie, I was a nervous wreck.  It is one thing to practice but to try and do what they taught you on the field is nerve racking. Thankfully the other parents had warned me all of the kids would be confused and it will get better through out the season.

Kaylie is one of two new girls to this team.  The other five girls have played together for three other seasons which has actually proven to be a positive thing for Kaylie to see them in action.  It helps her see what they are asking and helps take away the clueless component.

Overall I was pleased.  I had expected the worst, which was an all out melt down, and thankfully it didn't happen.  Still trying to figure out what was expected she didn't go for the ball but followed the pack.  She hung in the game and was exhausted by the end.  My favorite thing from the game was when the ball got kicked out of bounds.  Every single girl on the field ran off in the pack after it with the exception of one who was two busy picking flowers in the middle to notice.  Awesome!!!

The very last picture is of Kaylie with the girls.  Ashley's game started a little after ours so they watched a little of K's and we then watched a little of hers.

Peaceful Sleeper

I know what you are thinking...how can she sleep with all of this on her bed?!?  At times Jason and I wonder the same thing.  The one thing we have discovered is that she doesn't move around much in her sleep.  She is a very peaceful sleeper and pretty much stays in the same spot otherwise this could never happen.  The best part is this pic shows us so much about her personality.  After we tuck her in she usually gets up and finds other things to "put to bed" with her.  Baby puppy might be in the doggy bed and her babies might be under the covers with a pillow.  We always find it funny the things we walk in to find as we  check in on her before going to bed .

Go Stars Go

We decided to try our luck and take her to her first Star's hockey game.  If it didn't go well it wasn't a huge deal because two out of three of the tickets were given to us for free.  For our first game our seats were high but the best possible placement for us.  We were the first row of our section and had a piece of plexiglass in front for her to lean on taking my fear of her falling over away.  Any other seat would have forced us to keep her sitting down and would have changed the out come of our first game.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Every year the city puts together a daddy/daughter dance for kids four and up.  Months before tickets had even gone on sale Jason had put it on his calendar so they didn't miss out.  His love for our daughter makes me love him even more.

After getting her hair done and dress on she had a blast running around the house and twirling around in her dress.  He got her a flower that she didn't want to put down.  For lunch he took her to chick Fil A and then parked at the mall to ride the bus over to the hotel.  Riding the bus was Kaylie's favorite part of the entire experience.  Once in it took about an hour of watching before she started to dance and then she didn't want to stop.  For a treat on the way home the daddy/daughter duo stopped to get some M&M's.

Even though it took an hour for her to warm up she came home singing songs the rest of the night.  She even surprised us by singing/dancing to songs she hadn't danced to to begin with.  Her two favorites were the Cha Cha Slide and YMCA.

Beware their are a lot of pictures but I couldn't pick a few because I loved them all.

Getting beautiful

In preperation for the daddy/daughter dance Kaylie and I went to Sweet and Sassy for a hair cut and an updo.  I wasn't sure how this would go considering I chase her around the house when it is time to brush her hair and she screamed every time I mentioned they might curl her hair but with the help of baby puppy she pulled through and was brave.  At one point she quietly told the lady she hurt her but did not scream.  It wasn't until we added the flowers that the melt down began but was happy to have them once she was done.  The lady finished it off with what we thought was silver glitter but turned out to be gold.  I freaked and had her spray silver over it to try and fix it.  At first I wanted to cry over the amount of glitter on her head but got over it as the day went on.  By the time they left for the dance it had evened out some.

As a reward for a job well done she got to enjoy a brownie with me.  I am thrilled I was able to enjoy part of the experience with her.  I had a hard time not being able to be there with them. Thankfully, Jason kept me up to date with pictures and videos.

You can't tell by this pic but she was super mad at me for having the lady put the silver flowers in her hair.  That part really hurt her.  She perked up once we went downstairs to get a brownie.
