Beauty Parlor

Not the most flattering picture of little one but I wanted to show you her keen sense of style when dressing her and baby puppy.  Baby puppy is in the beauty chair which is one of Kaylie's favorite toys.  Many of her dolls get their hair done here in her salon.

Pretty Pretty Princess

I like to play games that I do not have to "fake" a loss on.  I know it is important for kids to experience what it feels like to win and lose but you don't want to break a child's spirit by beating them every time.  On this particular day we decided to play Pretty Pretty Princesses.  This is a game of chance and needless to say she won fair and square.  I love my Pretty Pretty Princess!  In case you were wondering...mommy isn't a gracious loser.  :)

Safety First

When not in her arms, Baby Puppy is usually strapped in.  Safety first!!!

Last-first day of preschool

With everything we have gone through in Kaylie's five short years we decided it would be beneficial to hold her back instead of starting Kindergarten.  By doing this we are hoping to have her mature as well as gain the confidence (as well as some height ) she may need to not always be chasing after the ones that are just a little bit older than her.  Quite often she is being "mother henned" and not doing things for herself.  These are the things we would like to have disappear before she goes off to the "big girl" school.

Once we made that decision we decided to keep her in the same preschool we had her in last year.  It is two days a week which works well for our schedule.  The focus for her this year will be to practice reading, writing, and growing.  Her class is full of five year olds that were kept back to grow as well making this transition that much easier.

I didn't cry until she decided she was a big girl and could go into the class without me.  She held my hand and then let it go so she could do it by herself....tear!  I don't know if I can handle this growing up thing!

Cousin Time

I love when we get to watch these two little ones.  Kaylie is super entertained.  She gets along super well with Garrett and tries to play mommy with Nolan.  I am thrilled they are getting to spend some time growing up together.

First fall soccer

Our first fall soccer game of 2012 was absolutely gorgeous.  The only thing that stood in our way was the earrings.  It took a good two hours to get them out and as I am sure you have guessed they never went back in.  In the second picture she was very quick and proud to let the ref know she didn't have any earrings in.  Sigh...I was sad but decided it wasn't worth the fight.  I couldn't imagine fighting her from week to week.  Now she can wait until she is old enough to buy them herself to get them again.

Stairs...the new form of entertainment

This afternoon I spent frantically cleaning before we had company over.  I knew she was playing but I really wasn't sure what she was doing.  After awhile I realized I should check and to my surprise this is what I found.  If you have ever questioned me about how many stuffed animals my child "really" plays with you can now stop.  As you can see she plays with them all.  :)  My gut instinct was to get upset for making a mess but all I could do was laugh, take the picture, and send it to her daddy.
