Lagoon...

Or Na-goona-goon, as Abby likes to call it.
During the 2nd week of August we (my mom and I) realized that we had to get on our little Lagoon adventure. She had promised the girls and had some passes she'd bought at the beginning of the summer, and we didn't want to run out of time. We decided Saturday to take them Monday--they were so excited, they couldn't wait!
Ready to start the fun!Image Helicoptor ride...
Image Starting out slow at the whale ride, totally my kids speed! :)

Image The swings, Abby still talks about these.
Image Driving the car. Abby had her eyes closed in most of the pictures where they are moving. But, she's having fun.
Image We searched the pioneer village for a little bit of family history. This is my great grandfather's ice truck. I remember when I was little in my dad's office there was a picture of my grandfather in front of this truck. I looked at it all the time, so it was fun to see the truck in person! My dad has memories of playing on this very truck when he was little. So, I was glad I dragged my girls on a little detour around the park to find it!

First Grader

Megan started first grade today!
Last week her teacher, Mrs. Hatch, invited the whole class to come and take a peek at their classroom so they could see her and the classroom before the first day, and to familiarize themselves with their room.

Image This morning...ready to go!
Today is her first day eating lunch at school. She brought most of it home, so maybe I was a little too excited packing a cute lunchbox purse. We'll figure it out.

Our sweet little Isabelle

Image This is my very favorite picture! And Mark's too. It is the background on our laptop, so we can get a kick out of it often.

At the beginning of July, Megan and Abby had a sleepover at my Mom's. Sometime that night Mark had talked to his mom, and the sleepover came up in conversation. A few days later, Mark's dad calls and told Mark that his mom had been telling someone that Megan and Abby were at a sleepover and Mark and Britt were home with Isabelle.

Isabelle?

We thought it was hilarious. We were trying to think of ways that she got Isabelle from Emily. {Turns out she was reading a book with a character named Isabelle, so that was where it came from.)

Of course, JT said we had to give her a hard time about it.

That weekend when we went out to Sunday Dinner, I threw a name tag on each of the kids.

We love Emily's face in this picture because it just says, "What in the world?????? Who is Isabelle?"

So, we can add Izzy to her nicknames, because we call her that now too.

Hannah Sighting

Image We went to Mark's junior high school to see his classroom before the first day on Monday. As we were walking down the stairs to the car, there were three girls in a little group talking.
Abby said, "Look! It's Hannah Montana!"
So, I asked her what she was looking at, not sure what would be at a junior high with a Hannah Montana picture on it (thinking like a backpack...I don't know).
But, she pointed to the girl with long blonde hair, and said, "Look, it's Hannah Montana, from the show!"--in the tone of Mom, please, how can you NOT notice this??
Later I told Mark I had debated telling her my daughter thought she looked like Hannah Montana, but didn't. Megan told me she would have been SO embarrassed if I'd done that. Ah cute, Megan is old enough to embarrass in public. Didn't expect that this early, but good to know! :)

Back to School?

I was hanging out with Emmy in Megan and Abby's room today. I made the straps super small on Megan's Jonas Brother's backpack and put it on Emmy just for fun. I put a flower in her "hair" and asked her if she was ready to go to school! She went out the room, down the steps, through the kitchen, down the steps to the family room to the garage door and waited for me, saying, "Go? Go?" Image

She's got a new way to walk, walk, walk

Align Left
Emily has taken her sweet 16-month old time, but she's walking! The first one is short video, and the second one is longer for the grandparents! That's a lot of work for a fruit snack!

Here is where the title of the post came from, in honor of our little walker. It's catchy, my other girls love it! So, play this first, and their either of the two of Emmy while the song is playing, to really set the mood.

End of Kindergarten

First Day of KindergartenImage Last day of Kindergarten
Image It went by so fast! Here we go...first grade!
ImageOn Wednesday we went to Megan's class program. It was darling. Megan had the cutest class, so it was fun to see them all together one more time.

My cute little rule-follower, Megan.
A school rule is that you can't wear flip flops to school, and Mrs. Juarez reminded them about it when the nice weather came.
Well, her new shoes are flip flops and matched her skirt perfectly, so I told her she could wear them to the program. She loves her flip flops, I thought she'd be excited. But, the look she gave me..."Mom, Mrs. Juarez said you can't wear flip flops to school."
Poor kid was forced to break the rules, all for the sake of fashion.
(After school, I asked her if Mrs. Juarez said anything about her shoes, and she said she told her it was OK because they had the program and would not be going to recess. Hopefully now her conscience {and mine} can rest easier)
