July 2010...and some overdue news ;)

I am hoping that by the time baby #3 comes along...which is only 9 weeks away (yikes!)...I'll be a little more caught up on our blog :) Here's what we know...He's a boy (yikes again!), we are naming him Carter Benjamin Smith and we are so excited!!!! I have been pretty yucky most of this pregnancy but trying to enjoy it being my last pregnancy...We are due May 18th and it can't come soon enough! Well let's see what we were up to in July 2010...

The girls are growing up so fast! We got Emily's blessing pictures done along with Madies' 2 year pictures...here are some of my favorites...

We had an awesome birthday party at Coronado Beach with some of our friends and family to celebrate Madeline Claire turning 2...

Ben surprised me with a really fun 30th (ouch!) birthday dinner at Benihana's with some of my good friends...

But I have to say the best part of July was a sweet road trip I took with my mom...we drove to Bishop CA, where we got to meet up with an awesome family friend Steve Felkel. It was really cool for him to hang out with my kids since I remember hanging out with him when I was a kid! He even lived with us for a few years while I was really young...Madie just LOVED him! They played a little golf and we all had a great time laughing & catching up!

From Bishop, we drove north east to Fallon NV where we hung out with my Grandma Billie Jean and my Uncle Bruce and his kids...The drive was so pretty!!! I just love this picture of Soda Lake...it was such cool shot! 

We only stayed in Fallon over night then headed south west to Las Vegas where we visited my Grandma Beverly Lane and my mom's brothers Frank, Ron and their wives...

We also went to a really cool children's museaum there and Madie got to experiment with bubbles, plumbing and an artificial hurricane!

Our trip was so fun! It was really great to hang out with my mom on such a special road trip...we always have a good time together :) She is one of my best friends...It was also great to be with her while I learned some interesting information...Ben lost his job at Alpha Mechanical and he has decided to go full time on his own...Introducing Ben Smith Plumbing!!! I was a little freaked since we had a baby 5 months ago and really liked a steady income...But I know he can do it and it's always been something he wanted to do eventually so I guess it's now or never!

Yep! you read that right...2010!!!! Man I lag! that's okay...this blog is really for me and my family to remember our adventures. You guys are just lucky enough to know about it ;) Well let's see what we were up to over a year ago...

We started out the month avoiding the paparazzi...

Ok not really...Annie's friend Kristen was wearing some hair extensions and Annie thought it would be funny to put them on a 4 month old! Silly girl! I have to admit once we got the following shot...she looked like she could be Cher's daughter!

We took a trip up to Utah where we got to hang out with the Huish's...

Madie LOVED hanging out with her older cousins Mae and Elle. They probably wore these dresses everyday we were there! They were so sweet to her and let her wear their precious princess dresses. Madie was like Elle's shadow...whatever Elle was doing, Madie had to be right there with her :)

We went to the Springville Days Carnival and rode some cool rides...

We also got together with my brother Justin and his wife Jessica. It was their first time meeting Emily :)

We went to Incredible Pizza where we played arcade games and won fun prizes...everyone had some fun with the moustache...

...and Madie got to experience her first whoopie cushion...

It was also fun to see Grandma Laurel and Grandpa Jack Adams...

Madie started her fascination with mommy's shoes around this time too but I didn't mind...She is so stickin' cute in my red pumps that I think she wears them better than me!

Both of these girls are growing up too fast and turning into such sweet sisters :) We love the fun they bring into our home and can't imagine a day without either of them :)

We finished out the month at the Mormon Battlion visitors center and got this cool picture of us girls...

Of course we rarely make it through a month without some lovely self portraits of Madie...she always seems to get the cutest shots of herself when we are not looking....gotta love this girl...

Somewhere between Emmie (who now goes by Mimi, self called) becoming a member of the family & Madie turning 2, I found that blogging no longer fit into my life :( It has been about 15 months since my last post. Suffice it to say I have ALOT of catching up to do :0) Here are a few pictures of our first family photoshoot with Mimi in April 2010 (ouch!). It was really neat that my mom was able to come with us so we got some cool shots with Nana :)
