Park, Dentist and 2nd Grade!

Image Once again, I am behind in posting some pics so here are some updates of things we have been up to! I took the kids to this cute park that had train rides, a petting zoo and places for them to splash around in this little stream.....we could spend all day here with so much to do! Here they are waiting for the train....love how Savana has her legs crossed. :)
Image Touring around the park on this cute lil' red train
Image Snapping a pic with the conductor after our ride!
Image Petting Zoo and watching some baby ducks experience their first swim....the mama duck was very protective and started freaking out if any of us got too close....so we stood back by the other animals. :)
Image There was this cute bridge with a little stream running under it and the kids loved splashing through it.
ImageLil' Marshall had his dentist appt. and I took Savana for her first little "welcome visit". Yes, it may look like she loves going to the dentist, but after this pic was taken.....it all went downhill from there and she wouldn't let them do anything else!:) Hey, it was her first time- so I didn't even think we'd get her to sit in the chair!
Image I love his face here....he was nervous that they were going to find cavities!....Nope---no cavities-----all good to go!:)
Image Our lil' Marshall started 2nd grade today! I thought it seemed so early for school to be starting already, but since we just moved here he was anxious to start school again to meet some new kids! Both he and Savana got up sooooo early and he went in to tell his dad that he got up early enough so that big Marsh could tell him good luck on his first day.....so cute!
Lil' Marshall was all showered, dressed and had his backpack on even before I could get dressed! It's so fun to see him be so excited to go to school and I really wish I could be (in my mom's words) a "fly on the wall" in his classroom. He has about 30 kids in his class so it is going to be BUSY year! Love you lots buddy and Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!:)
Image Savana really wanted to go to school with her "Mah Hah"....and I told her in another month she starts Preschool and can have a backpack too. :) So, she started cooperating for pictures after that.
Image Waiting in line....he insisted on standing here even though we were pretty early. :)

Overdue Update-Goodbye Utah, Hello Colorado!

Image Before we left Utah and moved to Colorado, we decided to throw Marshall a b-day party with all of his friends from school and his cousins.....missed ya Belle and Gabe. :( The boys all played with water guns and the weather was perfect! We had snacks, treats and cake pops......summer fun at its finest and a great way for him to say goodbye to everyone! Thanks to everyone who came and all of the wonderful gifts you gave! He is sooooo spoiled!:)
Image So happy to be at her "Mah hah's" party....that is her name for him right now.
Image We decided to do cake pops instead of a cake and I was thrilled because they all got eaten and I didn't waste another half-eaten birthday cake again!
Image He was so sad to leave everyone and I felt so bad taking him away from his friends.....but on to a new place, new school and new friends!:)
Image
Hangin' out at the Splash Park by our new house in Colorado.....it has been so hot lately, so anytime we can cool off is great!
Image Love when they do their "mad faces" at picture time.
Image This girl would LIVE outside if we let her.....she never wants to come in!:)

Savana's Dance Class

Image Our little Savana had her 1st dance class today and loved every minute of it! It was so fun for me to take her since it was the same place that I danced at when I was younger.....and even the same teacher is still there!:) She did pretty well following the teacher....mostly because there were lots of props for the kids to dance with. I think by the end though, she just wanted to do her own thing because she just started dancing around the room.....until it was time for treats of course. :) Anyway, here are a few pics that my mom took since the moms had to dance with the girls for the first part.

Random Pics

Image Happy Birthday Mom! All of us kids gave her a little "Spa package" for her birthday and then Care and I took her out to dinner at Z Tejas......really missed you Thernie!:(
Image The kids and I decided to enjoy the warm weather on Friday and go to the park. Savana was busy climbing up and down the slide while Marshall was getting quite the workout running away from some flirty older girls.
Marshall kept asking me why these girls keep chasing him and I said " Probably because they think you are cute" and he said "I think you're right mom cause' I must be cute at school too because girls chase me at recess!"
Image 50th time climbing up to the slide. :)
Image Finally got a pic of him without the girls. :)

It's been a YEAR!!!!

WOW! I can't believe it has been a year since I have blogged! I think since we moved back to Utah and see our families all of the time, I just didn't make it a priority to blog.

Anyway, here is a (very brief) synopsis of what we have been up to lately. The holidays were fun and crazy as always of course, and we loved having Catherine and Grant come visit. :) I found out I was pregnant with baby # 3 at the beginning of the year and have felt sick ever since....go figure- I have a boy and a girl and wasn't this sick with either.....what am I having? puppies?jk

Marshall just took his Step 3 Boards and we are getting ready to move to Colorado in June. The kids are getting big and Lil Marshall is doing great in First grade and he is wrestling and playing basketball. Above is a (really short) version of his first wrestling match---I had to keep cutting the video to make it fit. He won his match and we were all so excited..(especially dad)!

I just signed Savana up for dance classes and she is super excited to start---she keeps doing ballerina turns every time I mention it. I am going to try and be better this year about keeping up with the blogging. Hope you all are doing well out there! :)

Circus and DC Trip

Nice that I haven't posted anything for about a month but I was actually enjoying the "glad it's finally here" warmer weather with my family!:) One of my clients works for Ringling Bros. and gave us tickets to the Circus----so we took the kids and our seats were right up front! Lil Marshall was so excited to see the elephants and tigers and Savana just got excited anytime the music played. :)
Then, this past week Marshall had some time off from school, so we up and left to DC for a couple of days. It was so fun to just pack up and drive a couple of hours and not have to worry about work, school, cooking dinner or doing laundry. :) This truly is a trip I feel that everyone who has a chance to, should take. We saw the original flag from Fort McHenry that the Star Spangled Banner was written after as well as the original Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. No picture taking was allowed in these sections of course, but we all will remember this experience forever. We toured around the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and the Smithsonian----all MUST SEES! We couldn't have asked for better weather and even had fun jumping on and off the subway between sites. As much fun as we had though, somehow it always feels good to come home.......(and not look at the pile of laundry, unpacked food and bags that need to be put away) and just sit for a minute and talk about the great things that happened on our trip.....and then draw straws as to who is gonna unpack and clean up!jk There are no straws---just me telling Marsh what to do!:)

Image We really had such great seats! Image Just hoping those tigers can't get out of that cage!jk....but seriously Image These motorcycles were Lil Marsh's favorite Image And these cute elephants were Savana's favorite....well everyone's actually. :) Image Union Station....hands down the prettiest train station I've ever seen....well, so far anyway. Image The one and only "Hope Diamond"...it was really hard to get a good pic since it is so shiny and over 40 carats!!! Yes, Harry Winston is brilliant. Image This was at the Natural History museum and this cute giraffe pic is for my niece Belle who just loves giraffes!

Image Marshall loved all of the sea creatures. :) Image The Marshalls entering the Natural History museumImage One of my favorite parts was going into the culinary goddess (Julia Child's) kitchen! Image I love this woman and the movie was not bad either! Image In every picture she just looks so happy and is having so much fun! Now I love cooking, but I'll be honest that it stresses me out sometimes.....maybe I just need to cook with more butter?:) Image Snapping a pic with our first president of the United States
Image Learning about the history of locomotives and why Savana won't look at the camera
Image Sitting on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial
Image Restless kids playing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial
Image We are actually in the WWII Memorial and I love the Monument in the background
Image WWII Memorial with all of the countries and states represented that were involved in the warImage Here is outside Union Station.....our favorite train station---so clean since no smoking, food or beverage is allowed
Image So this was the closest we could get to the White House but we were pretty sure that the president and his entourage passed us on the way there.....maybe not but it sure was someone important with all of those cars and sirens cruisin' down the street!
Image Another shot of The "Casa de Blanca" Image Playin' tag outside the station waiting for our shuttle
Image Messy face, wet shoes and pants from jumping into puddles, and no nap all day---gotta love this girl!
Image Our first day there was a little warmer and sunnier but clouds still allow photo ops!:)
Image And standing in front of the famous "Spirit of St. Louis"!!
