How Was Masteriyo Born?
The Covid-19 pandemic changed how education worked, pushing schools, colleges, and instructors to adopt online learning tools. This led to a surge in demand for LMS platforms, and WordPress, known for easy website building, became a popular choice thanks to its LMS plugins.
At the time, only a few free LMS options were available, creating a gap for budget-friendly solutions. This gave rise to new free LMS plugins—Masteriyo being one of them.
But Masteriyo aimed to go further. Most LMS plugins relied on WordPress’s default post system, making course creation a repetitive and frustrating process.
Masteriyo changed that with a ReactJS-based LMS using SPA (Single Page Application) technology. It allowed users to create courses, add lessons, and quizzes—all from a single interface without page reloads.
This simplified and easier course building process helped instructors work faster and more efficiently.
