Hey Mom Look what I can do!!

Image
The Baby Hero is sporting a new trick: Holding up his massive head! He loves his little seat and is really grateful that he can now look around and see what's going on.
Image His Other favortie new thing: This toy pictured here. I call it his man purse or his bit. He takes the orange handle and when he shoves it into his mouth it looks like a bit he's trying to put on himself. Other times, he lets it slide up his arm and then the rest of the toy looks like a man purse he carrys around with him.

Image Our neighbor really likes our bike that sits on our porch. He also likes to run underneath the cars.

Here is a video of the Baby Hero. We just love having him around!!

Library Cards

The Evil Librarians* are conspiring against me. I have gone three times to the Public Library with my identification, and proof of residency to get a library card...and the first time--closed. The second time, the letter I had didn't have my first name, so I went home and got all the identification I could possibly bring. I also cried. The Evil Librarians were making me sad. I didn't have a letter with my first and last name, so I brought in a letter to my husband, a letter to the parents of the baby hero--AND the Baby Hero's birth certificate to prove I really was the baby hero's Mom. It was awful! They all laughed hystarically at all the efforts I went to obtain a library card. But it's a success. Now I just need to see if they have the book I really want to read!

ImageBH: "Much Better Mom! I'll even smile for the camera!"

Settling in

We're back at the library, but this computer terminal doesn't have access to the USB drives, so I can't show the wonderful pictures of our clean apartment! We have worked hard over the weekend and got all our boxes put away into closets or under the kitchen table or behind the crib. There are open spaces and we feel like we're settled in.

The other really big news, I wish I could show the proof, but the Baby Hero Rolled over today! I watched him do it in disbelief, and then he started to cry. And ever since then he has worked hard to try to recreate the event. He contorts himself into the coolest positions and I really wish I could show him off, but such is life.

We just want everyone to know we are doing well, and loving Indiana!

INDIANA!!!

ImageThis is the Baby Hero enjoying a chain of animals Grandma C. gave him. He loves reaching for things and all that jazz.

We MADE IT!!!

It was an adventure--mostly in the fact that we drove for three days straight, and that The Baby Hero decided Carseats are not for napping and that it takes a full time job to keep him happy. So if you weren't the parent Driving, you were the Parent Keeping Baby Happy. Consequently, all my great plans for making movies of the Baby Hero, and taking pictures of every state, were foiled.

Many thanks to the Honey Heros, (Bug Hero's parents) for they drove out the moving van and helped us start get settled. The other big thank you is to the Maas Hero. She is my cousin's wife's twin sister. (Yes, a great close relation) She has helped us find the housing, has helped us find our way around and also helped us get different applications, like food stamps and medicade. We are excited for all the changes.

We have a great many boxes, as we are subleasing an apartment for the summer. Due to the fact that in about two months we are moving to another location, we are not unpacking but just living in boxes as shown.

It's not quite as bad as it looks, because we are tucking things in everywhere. I'll post pictures once everything is safely tucked away.

The Bug Hero is really excited to start working over the summer on Monday. We're happy and busy. Life is great!!

4 month check up

Now, I know that the Baby Hero is not quite 4 months old...he's 3 1/2 months. But we're on our way to Indiana (If you didn't know) and we arrive there about two or three days before his 4 month birthday, and our doctor here said it would be easier to do the 4 month visit before instead of panicing and trying to find a good pediatrician in a few days.

So here's his stats: Weight 15 lbs 5 ozs. 75th percentile. Go Baby Hero!! Length: 24.5 inches. 50th percentile. Head: 75th percentile. (I can't remember the exact size.) We're not surprised that he's not super long, because we're average sized ourselves. So to have an average length baby and an overly heavy baby. It just adds to his budda look. He really is our chunky monkey.

Sorry, I'm at school, so there's no picture of him here, I'll post a picture of him soon, as in before we leave on Saturday.
