Thank Goodness for Daddy's

ImageAs you can see from this picture, the Baby Hero needed a hair cut. So did the Bug Hero, so we decided to give them in one sitting. Yes, now we know not to do that. The Baby Hero did not wait patiently for Mommy to finish cutting Daddy's hair. He wanted me to hold him as I was cutting hair, so we just let him cry as I hurriedly cut Dad's hair. Well, we didn't give him time to calm down, Dad just held the Baby Hero close and I cut his hair. It turned out great for the first time cutting a screaming baby's hair. Not the best hair cut given but an awesome hair cut for the circumstances.Image
Once we were done, Dad and Baby climbed into the bath together and had a blast. Mom was outlawed. Baby Hero would not look at Mom for close to two hours without glaring at her and making upset noises. He clung to his Dad, because Dad didn't ignore him or cut his hair.

We made a prediction a while ago. If the Baby Hero were ever to start choking, once cleared he would immediately put food in his mouth again. Unfortunately today that was also proven true. I was looking the other way and the Bug Hero rushed to the Baby Hero and pulled him out of his high chair. I then realize that the Baby Hero is turning red and can't breathe. The Bug Hero pounds the piece of food out of his mouth and the Baby Hero starts to cry, and gasping for breath, he signs "please food" and tries to shove the food in his other hand into his mouth. We don't let him put it in until he's breathing normally.

We are grateful for Dad today! The Baby Hero loves his dad and today his Dad saved him twice--once from the mom inflicted haircut and once from death. Dad is awesome!

Penguin

There is not much to say right now. We are in the midst of company and playing lots. Baby Hero loves having his cousin over, especially since she's not big enough to take his toys away from him.

I feel the penguin move all the time now and it's making me feel pregnant--in a good, creepy sort of way. I mean, who really wants their intestines kicked, prodded and pushed around? Within a week we will know what the penguin is. So now's the time to place a vote.

We'll have pictures later.

Dinner and a Show

The Baby Hero is quite expressive and humorous all the time. We are used to it, because we see it all the time. We had company over to dinner this week and they were laughing the whole meal due to the Baby Hero's antics. We didn't mind, but it was a reminder how talented he is.

Tonight, we caught this on video. It's a normal dinner night and the Baby Hero is up to the challenge to be charming and adorable.

On a side note: We need a new nickname for The Baby Hero. He's not really a baby any more and there's another baby coming. Any Suggestions?

Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday morning the Bug Hero as me what I wanted for Mother's Day from the Baby Hero. I told the Baby Hero that I wanted him to walk without help. As you may recall, he did that for a little bit about two to three months ago. Then he stopped. He would only walk with a hand, chair, pant leg, wall, or some other support system.

The Baby Hero was walking along the wall when I said that. He looked and me and smiled. Then he let go and started walking around the room laughing at how cool he was. We were so excited! And he just laughed and laughed and then kept at it. He has walked with a hand and then lets go and goes where he wants to for two days now. It was the perfect Mother's Day Gift.

The other thing he learned how to do yesterday was go down the stairs on his belly. We have been working on it since he learned how to go up the stairs...but he didn't want to try until Monday. On Monday he fell down the flight of stairs. So he practiced for the week and now he can go down the stairs, as long as someone turns him around. He's getting so big! He's not going to be the Baby Hero for long.
