NOOOO!

The Friendly Hero Loves Snow. He calls it "No." Every once in a while, there is a hint of an "s" before the "no." At the Library's Lap Sit this past week, there was a book about sledding. Miss A, asked who liked to go sledding, and the Friendly Hero called out "NOOOO!" He was so excited about the snow, and she thought he was saying no. Adorable.

Today we have watched this short movie almost constantly for the snow. He keeps asking for more no. I think it's cute.

Also, I figure that he's getting subliminal messages about being obedient and loving his bishop. Not bad things at all.

Things I like!

There are a few things that I love about being a Stay at Home Mom.

1. I chose this. It's right for me and my family.

2. Animal noises, like pig snorts, owl hoots, and sheep baa's are funny for a half hour.

3. This Giggle:

4. I have all day to do a load of laundry or two. Sometimes it takes all day, or even two days to get it done. Don't tell the laundry police.

Can't Decide!

I couldn't decide which of the two pictures of the boys were my favorite. Now you get to decide! Let me know which of the pictures you like best. (Please don't tell me which of the boys you like best, because that wouldn't be very nice....)

Beloved Bouncy Chair

Image
This is our beloved bouncy chair. The Peaceful Hero, after three weeks of his life decided that this was the best (read only) place to sleep. If it wasn't vibrating he wouldn't sleep. We were fine with it, and even took the bouncy chair with us on our almost three week jaunt to the West.

While we were in the West, The Bug Hero and I were wondering if it was time to start weaning him of the bouncy chair. The Peaceful Hero was pushing ten weeks while we were there and that meant that it was time to start thinking about sleep training. It's just not safe to sleep train a child if he's sleeping in a bouncy chair. Also, in our favorite sleep bible, I mean book, it said that vibrators gave junk sleep.

The Peaceful Hero also proved that it wasn't necessary, because on all of our plane rides he slept right through them without being vibrated. So once we were home and back to a somewhat normal schedule we tried to wean him of it. It was rough for two days. He woke up every two hours at night and wanted to be held and nursed. That made Mom really tired.

On the third day, he got his two month shots. I decided that because he got his shots, he could sleep in his beloved chair. He slept the rest of the day and the night, waking up every 6 hours eat and get some Tylenol. That was the last time he slept in the chair. After January 6th, he decided that it doesn't give him good sleep, and gets upset if you try to put him to sleep in the chair.

We were amazed at how fast the Peaceful Hero went from needing and loving his chair as a sleep aide, to wanting to use it as a chair so he can see his family. Our sleep bible is right that now the chair provides junk sleep. I think that the Peaceful Hero was making a transition between womb sleep and world sleep. In the womb it must have been a lot like the bouncy chair...I don't hold still and when I'm asleep the blood must have vibrated him a lot. Now he's used to the world, and holding still and has decided that he'll sleep like the rest of us, on a non-vibrating bed. I love the chair and I love that he weaned himself! We'll start sleep training sometime before he's four months old. (That's when we did the Friendly Hero.)

Aunts

I was listening to the Friendly Hero play with his toys. He held up each toy and told me it's name. The names change, but there is always a Kis, Drea, Aria. There has been a Apew, (Uncle M.) and Grandma and Grandpa. He loves his family!

We miss you guys! Yes, everyone has taken turns being the pig. He loves that pig.

Swordfighting in San Diego

Honey and Papa have awesome swords. They are foam and the Friendly Hero loved playing with the Bug Hero. They had this whole routine, but when the camera came out it took three short tries to get it on film.

The best part of all the short films? When he stabs himself. The Second Best Part? You get to see him pointing out airplanes!
