Christmas 2011

Well Christmas came and went and now we are getting ready for the new year and the new baby. We had a great Christmas with just us this year. The kids got a lot of great things from my family and Colby's. There big gift was a 14ft trampoline and they have played on it ever since they got it. The other big gift was a hamster. They names him Sonic and he is very cute and very good.
This year has gone very fast and I can not believe that its going to be 2012 and we will be having another baby in just a few months. We are still picking a name and we can't pick one we are both set on. It will be fun to have 2 boys and 2 girls though. I always wanted a sister so I am so glade that LaiLauna will have one. Plus I get to use all the cute clothes we used for LaiLauna again:)
The winter has been mild so far and Colby hopes everyday that it will snow. I on the other had am happy with out. Only because I have to take Noah to and from school twice a week and I hate icy roads.
We hope that everyone had a great Christmas and that you will also have a Happy New Year!

Gingerbread houses and Preschool Party

We have had a busy month this month with lots of Christmas party's and shopping the season.
On Monday for FHE we made gingerbread houses and the kids all loved it. LaiLauna just ate her candy but the boys really had fun.
The boys and I have made cookies for Christmas a few times. They are very exited for Christmas even our older boy Colby:)

Noah had his very first Preschool Christmas party on Tuesday night. He loved it but is a little shy so he didn't do to much singing. It was so cute though to watch him with all the other kids. He sings all the songs and home and knows them all very well. I guess he gets nervous in front of people just like his mom. It is doing soooo good in school and he loves going every day. He has the best teachers and I can't wait to Elijah to get to enjoy it next year.

Update

We used to do so good at this blog thing...well, Trisha used to do so good at this blog thing. With additional kids to please, church callings, weekend fun and the need to just relax sometimes we've slacked a bit. Here are a few updates:
Colby - Busy with work all week, arriving at work earlier and earlier to keep up with the work load. The 'economic stimulus money' did a great job of delaying the economic recession but we're starting to see it catch up as several layoffs at work with more to come unless work picks up have got us spending a little more time on our knees, and got me spending a little more time at work. We know we are so blessed and will continue to be no matter what the Lord may have planned for us. I've worked it out with Trisha to get every other Saturday doing some sort of hunting/shooting. Between pheasant, quail, coyotes, and new guns I've been enjoying spending time with my dad, brothers, and friends. Trisha's constantly accusing me of not being able to go a day without talking hunting. I assure her I can't go a day without talking about her or the kids too!
Trisha - Becoming more and more excited about our little addition coming next April. For those of you who haven't heard it's a girl. I knew it was going to be but Trisha suspected a boy so when we found out I was right I had to sit and soak in the moment, doesn't happen too often. Girl names are so hard to decide on and we haven't come to a consensus on what it will be. She spends her days keeping the house clean, and recleaning, and recleaning throughout the day. She recently got called to the relief society activities committee so when she was explaining to me she would HAVE to spend more time doing crafts with the relief society sisters I could sense her excitement. I just told her as long as there's baby sitting that wouldn't be a problem. She just rolled her eyes at me:). She's great at getting together with friends and doing activities with the kids. On Friday she and a friend were making sugar cookies for the kids to decorate and LaiLauna was sampling the cookies in her booster chair when she decided to get her feet up to the table and push back as hard as she could. Her chair tipped backwards resulting in a trip to the ER and 5 staples in a gash on the back of her head! Poor girl. It's a big surprise that she was the first to need staples/stitches. Knowing the boys and they're brilliant ideas you'd think they would have been first.
Noah - Doing great with school. We're surprised every day at the information he picks up at pre-school. He goes 3 days a week and looks forward to getting the show-and-tell bag to bring something from home. I thought it was cute the other day when he was counting and when he got to forty nine the next number was forty-ten, forty-eleven. I corrected him to say fifty, then when he got to fifty nine it was right back to fifty-ten. He's getting older and CAN NOT WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS. He's been asking to set up the Christmas tree for a month now, but we're trying to mitigate the damage from LaiLauna by waiting until a couple weeks prior. Trisha brought home a few ads for black Friday and he must have looked through the Kohls toy ads 15 different times with a new comment to make about the toys every time. It's so fun to see his excitement, such a great age! His list is:
Race car
Books
Airplane
Kenex
Legos
Semi truck for race cars
Elijah - Growing older every day but staying just as cute. He's got such a great smile and laugh. Our struggle with him is getting him to understand that crying at the first hint of not getting his way doesn't help anything. He misses his brother when he's at school so he plays with LaiLauna and uses her as his crash test dummy for his 'great' ideas. He can't wait until he can go to pre-school next year. When I asked him what he wanted for Christmas his first response was "Two Christmases", smart boy knows how to work the system! His list is:
Stick Horse
Bow and arrow
Transformer
snow boots/pants (we added that)
Leapster
LaiLauna is sugar and spice and everything nice...most of the time. She's starting to talk and will be the first to say whenever there is baby, kitty, or hold her arms in close and shiver and tell you it's cold. She starts nursery today all by herself! For the last month we've been taking her and staying in there with her. She's been dubbed the 'tough' one if she hits her head or falls off something. She could care less if we're in there with her or not. She's such a breath of fresh air and such a pleasure to come home to each day from work. She's first in line for hugs and turns around and backs up into you until you pick her up. I think she's almost as excited as mom and dad for church to move to 9am in Jan, as 1-4pm is right in the middle of nap time. Her list (made by her mother) is:
Soft fold up stroller
24m Clothing
size 5 dress shoes
touch and feel books
baby learning games

If you've made it this far through the reading I apologize, this ended up being a lot longer than I planned on. We feel so blessed for the things our Father in Heaven has given us. A great job that provides for our family, our beautiful little home that's perfect for our family, cousins so close, and wonderful children to remind us to enjoy the little things. We hope you have a great holiday season!

4 is the Luckiest number right?

Well it's true baby number 4 is on it's way. I'm only 8 weeks which means I hopefully only have a week or 2 more of being sick. Lets hope! We found out last Friday and I have to be honest I was not very exited. 1- I didn't want to be sick. 2-I was not ready. I wanted to wait till the end of next year so LaiLauna would be 3 when we had another one. 3-I felt bad that my kids would have to fend for themselves sometimes. 4- I was starting to feel better about doing 400 crunches a day. I am sure I could come up with other things. But why? I should be so grateful for the miracle. How salfesh to think only about myself. I know that this is something that our Heavenly Father wanted and now I have to be thankful! I am trying everything I can to keep food and water in my system and things haven't been to bad. I have tried 3 different nausea medications and had a UTI. Blah! This pregnancy is by far better then LaiLauna's and Elijah's even though Noah was the best. But at least I am not laid up on the couch all day feel sorry for myself.
We have already been thinking about names which comes natrualy I think. Even though we are not very far along. But nothing sounds good right now. Colby thinks it's a girl and I don't really care this time. I have one of each so whatever we get blessed with and as long as it is healthy we are good.

On other news. Noah starts Pre-school on the 7th. Where has my baby baby gone? I hope that he dose well in school and can learn more then what I can teach him here at home. He always wants to go to school so now that he is going to be starting I just hope that he still loves it:) I love Noah with all my heart and he is such a good helper around the house with LaiLauna and being a big brother. He even asks if I need water if I ever get sick. So thoughtful.

Elijah is also trying to be a helper even though he is our more vocal (whiny) child. BUt he is very soft hearted and likes to cuddle. He will miss Noah M_W_F when he is in school I think. I also think that he might cry sometimes when we take Noah because he also really want to go to school. He is getting big and I can not believe that he is already 3.

LaiLauna is such a HAM! She is so silly and loves to any kind of music you make or that she hears. Her hair is growing slowly but it's getting there. She has such cute curly hair in the back and when it's wet it starts going down her back. It's kind of a mullet I would say. But we lover her any ways. SHe only has 8 teeth still and she loves lemons and limes. She eats pretty good for the most part. And when she is done in her chair she will climb on the table to see what else she can get into.

Stung by a bee

On Friday July 8th we found out Noah was allergic to bees.
He was playing outside in the dirt by the garden all by himself and I was in side doing dishes when I heard him scream. I new what had happend and he ran inside to tell me. He cried for about 5 min and then stopped. About 5 min after that he started crying from over in the couch and I told him he would be ok. After about 5 more minutes he came into the kitchen and stared crying again. I turned around and went to tell him that he is going to be fine it was just a bee sting and that they hurt for a little while. But to my surprise his was was swelling up along with his hand. I grabbed the kids and we started out to the van. LaiLauna was still in her pj shirt and a diaper and Elijah was maybe in his pj's as well. By the time that we all got in the car Noah could hardly see out of his eyes and his was getting bigger and bigger by the seconds. I have a friend that lives on the corner and so I dropped the kids off there and took Noah to the urgent care about 2 min from the house. When we got there he was crying but couldn't open his eyes. I felt so bad and my hear twas racing the whole time. I had to sign him in and then we were told that the nurse would come get us in a minute. Well we waited and things were only getting worse. Finally I told the lady that it was taking to long. So she grabbed the nurse and they took us back. They checked him out and the doctor decided on a shot and liquid to help Noah out. His whole body was red and he had hives all over. His poor eyes were red from crying but he couldn't even see anything. We had to hold him down to give him all the medication which was a pain but after about 5-10min he could kinda see out of his eyes. Then the itching was gone so he started to be his silly self again. I started to feel better after that but was still so shaken up. So now we have to carry an epi pen with us when ever we are out. I just hope we dont have to go threw this again.
ImageHis hand. It took 3 days for the swelling to go down.

Shooting

We have made some new friends that just live around the corner and we went shooting with them last minute one evening. It was much fun. It even rained pretty good. We all got some shots in and the kids even got to shoot with there dad's. We are having such a fun summer with ALL of our friends and family. I wish I didn't have to end. Noah will start preschool in a few weeks and then my life will be even more busy then it has been just staying home with the 3 kids. Bring it on!

80's night

Our Relief Society put on an 80's night. We had an Ice Cream social and we all brought our fav toppings. They had quilt tying, card making, beads that you could make things with, hair crimping and curling, finger nail painting and a hula hoop contest. AHHH it was seriously so much! I even won best dressed:) I got goodies that they had in the 80's. Such as ring pops, a hair pick and some other cool things. I went with my new Jezi and we had a blast. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

4th of July weekend

We started out the weekend by heading out to Colby's parents house to go camping. We got out there Friday night and shortly after his sister Kira and her family came up for a surprise weekend visit. We all roasted hot dogs and the kids were off playing. There was of course horse riding and 4 wheeler rides and lots of chatting. We set up the tent and camped out in the yard. We even had Keenan sleep in the tent with us. Everyone did well except Noah wanted to go inside around 1 in the morning because he was to cold. Lets say neither one of us slept well that night.

On Saturday we got up and had a great breakfast and Colby and his dad went hunting. After they got back we set up the brickets and hung a turkey in them to cook. We had more 4 wheeler rides and then just our family went on a horse back ride together. Dinner ended up being really yummy but the bag and burned in one spot so we grilled the Turkey an hour. We had a big dinner and it was fun to have Turkey other then on Thanksgiving. After dinner we packed up and headed home for the night and church the next day.
Sunday we just hung out at home and relaxed.
Monday we were up early and headed out for the annual 4th of July parade. It was so much fun. We got ice cream bars and lots of candy. Almost all the Grand kids were in the parade. Even Grandma and Grandpa McGary were in it. Tamlee drove the van with all the kids while they threw candy and Scot road his dirt bike around with Tyson and his boys on there dirt bikes. It was so fun to see everyone riding around. Even Alise a few weeks from having her baby was riding a mini dirt bike. It was a sight to see!

After the parade we had lunch were the kids played with water balloons and some of us adults got in on the fun and then we headed out to the lake for boating and playing the sun and water. I stayed on the shore with LaiLauna and we played in the water. The boys and Colby went on the boat and road around for about an hour and a half. By the time we left our kids were so tired they all fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep even when we got home. We had plans to go have dinner at a friends house with some others from our ward but our kids were just to tired. So after a little while we made last minute plans with another family the Griffith's who didn't have plans and we got together for a bbq and then we played games and were off to see the fireworks. All in all we were tired from a great weekend and we loved every minute of it:)
