Christmas Party

We had so much fun at our church Christmas party! The young women helped the kids make reindeer ornaments and beaded jingle ornaments.  It was a major hit with the kids!

After dinner and another set of games, Santa came!! Kyle wasn't sure what to think at first.  But, Wendy was smitten! She was so so excited to see Santa! She was sure he had her Minnie Mouse doll with him. Eventually Kyle gave into Wendy's excitement and got into the Santa visit.

Santa!!!!

Santa came to our church Christmas party!!! Wendy was ecstatic!!!  On the drive home, she said "I asked Santa for a Minnie Mouse doll, but he gave me cookies instead." We had no idea that she thought Santa distributed his gifts from his bag at the party.  Good thing she still likes him! And that he will find her on Christmas morning!

Angels we have heard on high

Wendy LOVES to sing! With the Christmas season, I have started singing Christmas songs to her again. She asks me to sing them again and again until she gets most of the words down.  Then she sings with me....and sings them again and again by herself.  Such a fun girl!

King's Birthday

Happy 85th Birthday to His Majesty the King of Thailand! We were encouraged to wear yellow in honor of the King for this local holiday.  We brought some friends to our favorite place....Safari World.  We were in the shade and sweating like crazy! But we had fun!

Kyle's haircut

I love Kyle's curls!!! But, they are humidity induced.  In preparation to go the the states with less humidity where Kyle's hair would be a straight mop, we decided to give him a buzz.

Somehow Wendy got the idea that this is the cheese pose.

Luckily the smile is the same for our happy little guy! He looks all grown up and skinnier.  I'm sure he's cooler in this heat too!

Swing daddy

Sometimes when Chris passes the table and counter, he grabs on to both and swings his legs.  One day, Kyle gave him a good cheer after his trick.  The next day, Kyle grabbed on to the couch and table and worked at it.  When he finally got his legs up, he said "Swing. Daddy."  Yup, you are swinging like daddy, Buddy! He was so proud of himself!

Sharing

Maxwell is getting so big! It's crazy how fast babies develop.  He loves to play with toys, look at himself in the mirror on his carseat, and watch everything that goes on.
Image

One of his new favorite places is the bumbo.  He can watch the kids and play with a toy all by himself.

Kyle is teaching him sharing....just as Wendy taught Kyle.

Luckily Maxwell is very good at sharing!

Decorating

I love Christmas! Chris rolls his eyes at me every year as I struggle to wait until the evening of Thanksgiving before pulling out my Christmas decorations.  I love having reminders of the Christmas spirit of love, giving, and the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ in my home.  Here are some of my nativities: from Rome, Sweden, Alaska, and Jerusalem.

The kids had a blast decorating the tree....and redecorating the tree... They especially love the bells and will often take bells from the tree to go around the house singing Jingle Bells.  I love it!  We got our precious angel for the top from a local holiday manufacture.  We can get very fancy Christmas decorations for a fraction of the price we could get them in America.

Another nativity from Jerusalem and two nativities from Zimbabwe.

This nativity is about the size of Kyle and I love it! I moved the table behind the couch a week before Thanksgiving in preparation.  It became the new play zone for the kids.  I was nervous, but I broke out the nativity (a few days early) and the kids only go over there to talk to baby Jesus.  They stay on this side of the couch.  Phew!

My gorgeous Santa from the local Christmas shop.

Wendy loves our Elf.  And she was very excited to get on the little table behind our other couch to take a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

When my mom was here, she helped me decorate my kids rooms a bit more.  I kind of ran out of steam when I got here.  Then my friend Michele gave me these amazing name photos for my kids as a baby gift to Maxwell.  They look so great and my kids love them!

This was allot of work! I just didn't have the heart to put it on the floor or have a baby throw up on it.  So, it is now a wall hanging in Maxwell's ABC room.  YAY!

My mom helped me with these ABC pillows.  They turned out to be more work than I thought, so I'm grateful my mom was here to finish them!

Such a big boy!

Kyle's cowboy room still needs some work, but it's a start.
