I met Glen at Medidata customer in 2005 and became a friend. He will always be missed. RIP!

I was friends with Glen at Carnegie Mellon. When I heard of his success, it did not surprise me. Glen had a very warm and engaging personality. I wish to extend my sincere condolences to his family.

I joined Medidata in July 2017. Right after I joined, on a bright and sunny day, I went up to the ninth floor to say hello to Glen and Tar. I saw Glen was standing in front of his laptop and concentrating at work. I walked into his office and introduced myself. Glen smiled at me and was so friendly asked me about which department and what project that I was working on. That was the first time I talked with Glen. To me, Glen is a charming leader. He attracts everybody's attention when he was talking. He knew the Medidata business inside out. On top of it, he was so technical savvy, he kept his eyes on all the new technologies and what happened in the industry. I feel deeply sad when I heard the tragedy. He will be remembered forever!!!

I also don't know Mr. de Vries personally but I am inspired after reading about his story, accomplishments and visions. Thank you for your contributions to the science, IT and clinical.

I did not personally know Mr. de Vries but I am moved after reading about his accomplishments, visions, and drive. Thank you for all your contributions toward a better world for all of us.

I met Glen at Columbia Presbyterian in the 90's. He and Ed Ikeguchi brought me over to Medidata. He provided an opportunity and was there for me during it all. I seek solace in that I did tell Glen before the Blue Horizon flight how proud I was of him and how he was a true innovator and so inpirational. I will truly miss Glen and that smile. My condolences to the family.

I still remember my Welcome party when I joined Medidata. You were talking about going to space, and I just heard that you made it happen, but I can't believe you're gone now. Never forget Gren, I had a great time with you.

Glen and I had just reconnected through a mutual love of technology and aviation. I still remember the epic after party when Glen received the E&Y entrepreneur of the year award. You will be missed, fair skies and tailwinds.

Knowing and working with Glen was a privilege and an honor; I cherish every moment we had together. He was an extraordinary human in every way, who made a difference in so many lives. We will honor his memory by focusing on our mission. May his memory be a blessing. I miss you so, Glen.

I didn't have the chance to meet him personally but working in the same company I eared a lot about his dreams and visions and we will keep them alive!

I remember seeing you going to space in New hire orientation. You inspired me to always work hard and do big and think big. Wanted to atleast shake hands with you once.

It has been a joy knowing Glen for the 17 years I have been working in Medidata. A human being who brought light and joy wherever he went. I will never forget his smile - it stayed on his face and made everyone welcome. He lived his life the way he wanted to but kept a pulse on serving humanity and bringing education and cure to a large population that desperately needed it. Glen was both a leader and a visionary. His dreams will live on. My sincere condolences to his bereaved family, parents, sisters, friends, and the larger Medidata family.

I will dearly miss Glen with one consolation. He has left behind such a treasure of memories, they will tide my way in days to come.

Rest In Peace Mr. de Vries. The universe lost a great contributor, but heaven gain a faithful child who uses all the talent and skills that he was provided with for the good of all mankind.

I like wish my deepest condolence to family, Tarek and all his co-workers. Glen was always reachable and available to discuss any topics, plus always had a positive outlook in life. He will be dearly missed in the pharma industry and in life. RIP

So sad to hear. I'm glad he was able to journey to space, as I know it was a dream for him. Prayers and blessings to those close to him. What an inspiration. I didn't know Glen but I found out who he was when he went into orbit. Our company uses Medidata so that caught my eye. So nice to see someone at his level wanting to do so much more for others and our planet.

So sad to hear just now the loss of this genius guy who push the life science industry moving forward so strong and I was so inspired by his passion and devotion even during the one conversation in the open-air balcony after attending the first annual user meeting in China.

As a medidation, I can´t even describe the impact Glen had on me. So many others have so much more to say but I met him often and he left a real impact on my life and what I do every day. Missed is an understatement. A shining light. J

Glen was always smiling and cheerful while leading Medidata through numerous changes..he lived life to the fullest and had an infectious energy. Glen was a true leader - genius visionary, charismatic, caring & compassionate, full of never-ending energy. He left a truly amazing legacy and a big hole in Medidata's heart.

Just over 4 weeks ago I was so glad to reconnect, from a distance, with everything that Glen was up to. When I heard he would FINALLY meet his goal of being in space, even for such a short time, I was so joyful. In high school everyone knew how much he loved science and space. What I want people to know is how much he loved life. If you were his friend you were seen and appreciated. HIs laugh was infectious and he cared for people in his sphere. Clearly his work showed he cared for all people. 4 weeks later and I am struck numb. This tragedy is so hard to manage. I send Glen's family and all of our high school friends enormous hugs. He will be missed and I hope his memory is eternal.

Condolences to the family!

My heart goes out to Glen's family and friends. Glen is an an inspirational leader, who we will continue to be a legend even after.

Glen was the best roommate one could have and an even better friend. I was blessed to have shared a room or apartment with him for 3 years. He indeed and literally lit up any room he entered with a huge personality that was both gregarious and humble at the same time. I've spent the weekend being bombarded with memories of our times together. I've smiled and laughed and cried a lot. I've felt a lot. And that's what Glen's effect was on nearly everyone he met. An infectious influence to feel emotion. You would "feel more" after interacting with him, and you'd come away being a better person as a result. I'm going to miss my dear friend, and I thank him for making me a better person having known him. - Brad

While I did not know him that well, he was always approachable and conversational when I would run into him in the New York Office. To me he was and is the essence of Medidata and all it strives to be.

My deepest condolences to Glen´s parents, sisters, family, friends, fellow colleagues, and to his best friend-brother-Tarek. Glen´s legacy and vision will live on and be carried by the countless people he touched and benefitted during his time on this planet.

A month ago we cheered Glen on and counted down from the 6th floor when he blasted off into space, with Captain Kirk!! And who of all people drives Glen and his crew mates to the rocket...Jeff Bezos!! Talk about epic! My kids remembered Glen and Tarek from bring your children to work day at Medidata a few years back and they couldn´t wait to watch the launch video when they got back from school. It was actually the first day-maybe ever-that my kids asked me how work was today. We are all so happy that Glen got to live his dream of going to space. He got his astronaut wings from Jeff Bezos last month and now he has his heavenly wings from the Lord.

So much has been said about Glen from people who knew him much more closely than I did. I am proud to say that I had the privilege of working with him.

To the man who didn´t need a script for an earnings call and was always the most passionate about our great company-Medidata. Godspeed, and fly high @Captainclinical

Glen was a great person - a down-to-earth genius who believed in a better world. It´s a blessing that he got to see that world from beyond the clouds. Condolences to the family. Medidata has truly lost a friend, a leader and someone who stood for all of us.

Glen was an inspiring, joyful visionary. It was always a pleasure to be in any room with Glen, whether it was real (the legendary parties!) or virtual (the many All Hands meetings). None of us ever left an encounter with Glen feeling less than inspired and enthusiastic about furthering his and Tarek's vision of making clinical trials better, helping patients through their journeys. For Glen, the only direction was forward; for all of us who had the honor of working with him, we'll return the honor by forging ahead, striving for excellence as he modeled it. He was unforgettable and epic. May his family, friends, and loved ones find peace, comfort, and strength in memories and in knowing so many colleagues are also mourning for a life well-lived, albeit far too short. Rest in peace, Glen.

Sending so much love to you all. I was Katie´s nanny and used to hang out with Glen and his friends. He took me to my first nyc midnight movie ....." Batman". We laughed a lot and shared some great memories. What an amazing character. What a light he was and I loved him.
