Voting Module

AGI token holders can stake their AGI tokens to receive esAGI tokens, which have the voting power to vote for vault emissions in each epoch. The voted vaults will emit more esAGI tokens to liquidity providers who offer ETH or LSD.

Voters can earn 70% yield of the selected vaults.

Every Epoch, Agility Protocol will allocate emission of esAGI tokens to qualified vaults.

Current Mercenary Capital

Agility has attracted a huge TVL of $500,000,000, which is a huge achievement that has brought attention and reputation to Agility. However, we soon realized that this model is not sustainable, so we immediately reduced emissions by about 40% in the proposal of AIPE-3.

Snapshot

Although the current methods of attracting liquidity are effective in bringing it in, they are not as effective in retaining it over long periods. Liquidity Providers seeking the best return on investment, also known as “mercenary capital,” are motivated by high APRs and tend to move their capital to the protocols that generate the highest returns. This makes liquidity not “sticky,” and it becomes difficult for protocols to predict their liquidity needs and offer the necessary incentives to achieve their goals as APRs change from one epoch to the next.

When the token price falls, LP incentives are lower, and TVL flees, chasing other yield opportunities elsewhere. And this will lead to further price drops, ultimately resulting in a death spiral. Most DeFi protocols end up like this, and this is the problem that Agility wants to solve.

Simply put, liquidity providers receive significantly higher returns without bearing the responsibility of providing sticky liquidity.

That’s why Agility has proposed the Maturity-Boosted Liquidity Mechanism (MBLM).

Let’s imagine three scenarios first.

Scenario One

Imagine AAVE is going to start its own ETH staking service. And AAVE issues its LSD, i.e., aaveETH. Then AAVE will need massive liquidity to support aaveETH. Too expensive for AAVE to provide all liquidity for aaveETH-ETH pair.

Scenario Two
