In an industry where things literally sell out in minutes, it’s hard to wrap your mind around the fact that it has been 365 days since GOATz launched and etched its place in the annals of the NFT Boom. 1 year ago, I remember being so tired I could barely keep my eyes open and at the same time hands shaking with anxiousness and anticipation. With the support and hope of a thriving new community I pressed deploy and 43 minutes later all 10,000 original GOATz had found their new home. Back in the days of instant reveals, holders flocked to Opensea to see if they were lucky enough to get an ethereal fur or astronaut outfit. It was euphoric seeing GOATz climb up the ranking charts and the buzz on twitter was electric.

Fast forward a year later and we have held 10 Forge SZNs, rewarded our community with over 30eth in forge prizes, deflated our supply to 6872 GOATz, released our KIDz companion, donated to multiple charities, rewarded 20eth in founder’s challenge prizes, gave away over 8eth in weekly poker prizes, doled out 100s of NFTs through giveaway Sunday, outfitted our community with tons of Merch, pioneered trait matching rewards with legacy challenges, purchased multiple plots of land across multiple metaverses, attended 2 NFT NYCs, hosted multiple IRL get togethers, shot a music video together, got over 1M views on youtube, innovated LOTW technology, developed our staking platform, released our GMILK token, opened an online marketplace, collaborated with multiple communities on projects, events, and giveaways, been featured on a dozen media outlets, and most importantly have grown a tight knit community of like-minded individuals that want to create meaningful relationships and succeed together in this web3 space.

While we have accomplished so much in this first year, we are just getting started! This next year, we will focus on establishing partnerships that will broaden our capabilities and widen our reach. Community, entertainment, and innovation is where we will pour our resources and effort! Let’s build the GOATz Universe together.

Today we are excited to announce the beginning of Project Jericho which can now be publicly known as GOATz Trait Transformation. Over this last year, it has become clear that our holders take creating and forging GOATz very seriously! Whether it’s to tell a story, create a full themed GOATz, or just an epic color matching clean GOATz, appearance is important to this community. We always love to say our collection is constantly aesthetically improving and with the release of Trait Transformation (TT) we are taking that a step further.

All 164 of our original traits are getting a new alternative style/look. We are NOT adding new traits, we are simply giving our holders the option to choose visually between 2 options that represent the same trait. For example, there will now be two different visual astronaut outfit traits. They will both be labeled astronaut traits on opensea and the number of total astronaut traits will not change. We will be releasing the option to switch your trait visual through our GMILK Marketplace. We will slowly over the next couple of months be releasing the different traits starting with the eye traits. Simply purchase an Eye TT from the marketplace and within 24 hours your eye trait on your SELECTED GOATz will be transformed from the original version to the new alternative version.

SZN 10 Forge

We are so pumped to break into double digits with SZN 10 this weekend! The Forge is at the very core of our identity as GOATz and to think that after this weekend we will have completed 10 SZNs and reduced the supply by more than 30% is extraordinary. None of this would be possible without this community’s commitment to creating meaningful personalized GOATz. To celebrate this milestone, we have gone deep into our bag and have come out with some amazing prizes. Our last announced prize will be an Adidas Originals: Phase 2 however, this prize will only be available to those GOATz that are forged this SZN and are Forged III and above. The Great Forge begins this Friday 9am PDT!

Founder’s Exemption

You are probably aware that some GOATz are unforgeable due to claiming an AUT token. It was our intention to release the ability to remove the unforgeable trait prior to SZN 10 to allow the most Forges possible, however it could not be done. Instead we have decided to offer a 1 time exemption for SZN 10. What this means is that all GOATz will be forgeable despite having the unforgeable trait or not. After SZN 10 any GOAT ID that was previously unforgeable will remain unforgeable and for SZN 11 will need to be made Forgeable through purchasing a Forge-Pass via our marketplace.

Marketplace

Our Marketplace is the most critical piece to our long-term vision for GMILK and our GOATz ecosystem. It is our intention to build an adaptable marketplace that will allow the team to list limited qty items, auctioned items, a variety of types of items and even allow holders to list items in the future. Creating the infrastructure for this has not been easy on the dev team, however, at the team meeting this week, they believe they have the right architecture now to build it into our website. We are still planning on releasing our marketplace prior to the close of Q2.

AUT Token

A lot of people have suggested that we implement a burn function with the Access Utility Token. While we are not ruling that out entirely there is something we will want to release using the AUT as a gating token. The 3 original uses for the AUT were 1. Giveaways 2. Premium Merch Items at Cost 3. Metaverse Wearables. We have partnered with Uniqly.io to deliver on number 2 and 3. We will be releasing 3 items that will be physical clothing, but also double as digital wearables within DCL. The 3 items are a Developer Hoodie, an NFTC T-Shirt and a Golf Polo. The items may be purchased individually. In an effort to simply our ecosystem, post this launch, we will consider releasing a burn function with the AUT.

Metaverse

The Lands that GOATz currently owns are 36 connected plots in The Sandbox, 2 NFT Worlds, 1 XL Arcade Land, and 1 Decentraland estate. We, just like all other projects, are waiting for Sandbox to release their open beta version to allow us to open GOATzVille. We have not been provided any new target dates for this release, however, we have heard the next Alpha release will be coming soon.

We planned to release 3 games with NFT Worlds, GOATz Skies a game focused on GOATz racing airplanes through an aerocourse, GOATz Boats a battle royale style game with GOATz in cruisers, and GOATz Mountain, a climbing racing game where you battle the elements. We partnered with an NFT Worlds Verified Builder named Metacrafters. They loved our unique vision and were excited about building the project. We entered into an agreement with them at the end of March and they began development sending us updates of the designs of our vehicles and land previews. Approx. 2 weeks ago we lost communication with them due to the founder claiming “Personal Family Issues” however the lack of communication grew worse. This week we were informed by fellow project founders and verified by NFT Worlds’ co-founders that their Verified Builder had in fact discontinued communication with all their clients. There are over 10 projects and 10 plus staff members that have not be paid or had work delivered. It has become clear that the founder, Callum Nichols, has rugged his entire team and all the projects that are in contract. This guy is the absolute worst type of scum in this space and I want justice badly. We are currently in a discord group with all the affected parties as well as the co-founder of NFT Worlds figuring out the best legal course of action going forward. We are also trying to recover all the work that has been done by the team to leverage a future build. All costs associated with development will be personally replaced by myself to the GOATz budget, however the greatest loss is the loss of time. While I believed I was being prudent using a verified developer via NFT Worlds, I sincerely apologize for what has happened. We are now assessing our options to continue the build and vision for NFT worlds with our new metaverse partner. We will provide an update as soon as we have it!

We will continue to diversify our Metaverse footprint and have begun looking into developing out our presence in DCL as a social platform for our members in the short term.

NFT NYC

GOATz excel at IRL events and getting together is one of the most rewarding aspects of this community. We are excited to see so many of you at NFT NYC in just 3 weeks. We will continue to release more information about our plans to get together but the 3 main events right now are as follows.
