Transition timeline (at a glance)

Oct 4 — Access & market changes

• Sign-in via Open Loot stops; inventory sync stops.
• BOSS FIGHTERS is no longer available in the OL launcher. Continue playing via Steam or Meta Quest.
• In-game OL currency balances (FLEX, Variator, Reinforcer, Arena Tickets, Sponsor Marks) will display 0 in-game because sync is off. Your balances still exist on OL during the migration window — check the OL interface for exact values.
• Trading pauses on OL (premium currency trading off; token deposit/withdraw disabled).
• All NFT listings are canceled; ongoing rentals continue until their end date and won’t renew.

Oct 4 → Nov 4 — Migration window
Ownership of your NFTs, tokens, and premium currencies remains recorded on OL. No action needed to preserve anything. Keep playing as usual on Steam/Meta Quest.

Nov 4 — Snapshot
We receive OL’s final ownership snapshot (including mystery boxes and in-game currencies).
Using that snapshot, we’ll gradually mint your NFTs and airdrop them to the MetaMask wallet linked to your BOSS FIGHTERS account, and re-issue in-game currencies.

Bottom line: Nothing you own disappears. Snapshot holdings on OL will be honored and re-issued in our updated system. We are not giving exact timelines for when the migration will be fully finished after Nov 4th, as it will take time, and we are in the process of transitioning toward a single multi-game ecosystem. Ultimately, we want to do things right for players — and by doing so, we believe we’ll increase demand for assets and tokens.

How each asset type is handled

1) Currencies

• Tradable: Arena Tickets, Sponsor Marks, Variators, Reinforcers
• Non-tradable: FLEX, Cash, Fusion Cores

After the Nov 4 snapshot, we will credit OL currency balances to your BOSS FIGHTERS account balances.
Cash & Fusion Cores already operate outside OL’s API, so their balances remain unchanged.

We want to keep tradable currencies in the ecosystem for market/gameplay depth. Right now our backend supports cross-currency swaps only (no order book). We plan to restore trading features later.

We’re also reviewing the design of Sponsor Marks as we move toward a single-token economy and away from inflationary tokenomics. Sponsor Marks currently act like a token derivative; we may change their utility or remove them in the next-gen design. If we proceed, we’ll announce the plan in advance.

2) Cryptocurrency tokens — BFTOKEN

After Nov 4, using the OL snapshot, we’ll airdrop the token balances you held on OL to the ERC-20 wallet (MetaMask linking feature already enabled!) linked to your BOSS FIGHTERS account.
BFTOKEN remains on Ethereum. We’re exploring multichain options for broader adoption in the future.

We also want to note that BFTOKEN itself will evolve. A separate topic of discussion is how it will be handled once our studio transitions toward a single studio-wide token that powers all games across the Pixward ecosystem. We will explore this direction in future articles and share clear plans when ready.

3) NFT assets

Migration is also a chance to refine utility and maximum supply where needed — especially as BOSS FIGHTERS joins a unified economy. Some collections may have their supply adjusted to support long-term sustainability.

• Showrunner Contracts
  There are almost 25,000 in circulation — more than enough for the economy to run in the long run. We will likely limit max issuance and add a merging feature (similar to Badges). Upgrade levels will be preserved after migration.
• Badges
  There aren’t many in circulation, but enough to keep things running. We’re exploring a model where Badges drop tokens from a pre-paid pool funded by player spend (minus applicable fees), similar to how FLEX pools were operating in the Economy 2.0. We also plan to refine this approach as we transition toward a single studio-wide deflationary token for all Pixward games. Covered earlier in the Economy 3.0 article, and more details will follow. Badge charges will be preserved after migration (charge ratio maintained).
• Game Shares
  This asset is one of the most important in the game and we want to keep it valuable. It will still provide drops for staking and participating in gameplay, but we also want to expand features — adding discounts for holders, rewards redistribution tied to new tokenomics, and of course stadium access when they are ready.
• Vouchers
  More complex to migrate since they relied on OL’s custodial API. Attributes will be retained, but new functionality will take some time. Updates will be shared as features come online. Importantly, over time Vouchers will continue to improve their drop potential as originally designed — while they are dormant and not dropping tokens, the drop rate slowly increases.
• Craftable NFTs
  Like Showrunner Contracts, we may revise maximum supplies to maintain a healthy economy and marketplace. For example, some low-rarity assets reached 25–30% minted, which we consider a strong baseline to support secondary market demand.
• NFT Skins
  May receive the same treatment as craftables, but it’s too early to confirm. Final decision after the OL snapshot.

We truly appreciate your support and commitment to our community. Today, we want to recap where we are, what we’ve learned, and most importantly — how we’re evolving into a stronger, sustainable, and connected future.

As a studio, we recognize that the economic model we started with has shown limitations under current market realities. While it allowed us to validate important ideas, we now see the need to adapt and evolve.

That’s why we are presenting a Transition Plan (Pivot) to move away from inflationary structures and toward a balanced, sustainable economy supported by real gameplay, economic & community activity, and transparent mechanics.

I. Learning from Experience: Why the Current Model Needs Adjustment

Every journey includes tough lessons. The adopted model helped us validate important ideas, but also revealed limitations in a fast-changing market. It was based on selling premium currency, issuing tokens in exchange, and using token-generating NFTs as rechargeable equipment that produced tokens.

1. Structural Economic Challenges

• Inflationary pressure — Token issuance tied only to premium currency sales lacked true price support backed by player spending.
• Hype & Market Sentiment Dependency — Systems that rely on short-term speculation cannot scale sustainably.
• P2E is outdated — We believe the Play-to-Earn model is unsustainable, overly speculative, and conflicts with what players naturally value in games, and must evolve towards models centered around player driven value, gameplay quality, asset utility, and community engagement.

2. Market & Listing Realities

The Web3 market has shifted dramatically, with intense competition and limited narratives around gaming.

• Narrative Gap: At this stage, Web3 gaming lacks a strong market narrative, making it harder to attract new demand.
• Exchange Listings: Listing on exchanges required significant resources, but the expected trading activity often fell short of sustaining long-term liquidity.

3. Operational Constraints

Certain agreements limited flexibility for reinvestment and adaptation.

• Revenue Splits: Publisher terms constrained our cashflow, with only a small portion of revenue reaching the studio, limiting our ability to reinvest in growth.
• Market Maker Setup: Two loan-based MM agreements created a stalemate. They had no incentive to support price — and actively prevented token buybacks, undermining our ability to stabilize the economy.

II. Strengths We’re Building On

Despite these challenges, several elements of the project remain strong and will serve as the foundation for our pivot.

Utility NFT Design
Our Utility NFTs — with mechanics like crafting, merging, and premium-charging — have proven to be innovative and expandable. They give us a solid base to continue developing new layers of utility.

High Staked Mode Principles
The reward mechanics behind High Staked Mode, where outcomes depend on skill, NFT quality, and personal stakes, represent a healthier and more engaging economic model where the prize pool is formed by players themselves — that we plan to expand further.

Gameplay & Community
Our tournaments and events — with over 60 participants and more than 30,000 views — demonstrate the strength of our gameplay and the dedication of our community.

These pillars are proof that the gameplay works, the community is here, and the foundation is strong.

III. The Pivot: Toward a Deflationary & Connected Economy

Our plan is ambitious, but simple: increase demand, reduce inflation, and build a deflationary, multi-game ecosystem.

1. Deflationary Approach & Buybacks

We are moving away from “mint-on-spend” and into a system where player spending directly supports token liquidity.

• Buyback Model: A majority of player spending will go into token buybacks & liquidity provision, with a clear split for example, 10% to operations, 90% to buybacks
• Redistribution: Bought-back tokens will be redistributed to players based on NFT quality, skills, and engagement.
• Smart Transparency: All buybacks and emissions will run through oracle-based smart contracts, removing dependence on opaque MM deals.
• Inspiration: We draw from proven models like Hyperliquid’s revenue-backed treasury.

2. Expanding Token Demand One Token. Many Games.

We believe in the current market single-game tokens are no longer viable. The future is a multi-game, single-token ecosystem, based on a unified and scalable utility NFT model, and deflationary token supported by buybacks driven by player spending across titles.

• One Token, Multiple Games: Build a multi-game ecosystem powered by a single token.
• Partnerships: We are in talks with indie studios to onboard them into our connected game ecosystem, powered by extensive tools we’ve built for BOSS FIGHTERS.
• Mobile Expansion: A mobile version of BOSS FIGHTERS is in development, alongside discussions with publishers to reach wider audiences.
• Cross-Game Value: NFTs and progress will carry across games, fueling a shared economy.

3. Operational Improvements

We are restructuring operations to increase flexibility:

• Revisiting Agreements: We are renegotiating MM and publisher setups; if not possible, we’ll seek alternatives.
• Enhancing NFTs: Expanding NFT utility and, if needed, balancing supply.
• Migration: If platforms change, NFTs will migrate seamlessly to a low-fee chain, with full ownership preserved.

IV. Next Steps

This transition will take time, as it requires new smart-contract mechanics, extensive backend development and coordination with partners.

Our goal is clear: to create a fair, transparent, and sustainable system where player spending & engagement contributes directly to ecosystem health.

🛡️ Badge Slot Locking System

One of the biggest changes in Season 3 is how you’ll manage your Badges.

The problem today:
Right now, players can rapidly swap Badges to maximize token farming. While efficient, it creates heavy inflationary pressure on the economy, forcing us to nerf gear or reduce yields — frustrating for everyone.

The solution:
Working with dedicated community members, we’ve designed the Badge Slot Locking System to protect value, encourage strategy, and keep token flow healthy.

How it will work:

• Lock your chosen Badge loadout in inventory.
• Once locked, Badges stay equipped until their energy runs out.
• When a Badge depletes, it’s removed — but the slot goes on cooldown before you can equip another.
• Each slot has its own cooldown, making choice and timing important.

💡 You’ll still be able to equip up to 5 Badges, but your decisions will matter more. Higher-rarity Badges yield more tokens, while newcomers can still farm reliably with entry-level ones.

Benefits:

• Reduces inflation
• Protects long-term asset value
• Keeps rewards meaningful for both new and veteran players

🔧 Other Planned Economy Tweaks for Season 3

Alongside these bigger systems, we’re preparing smaller but impactful changes:

• Lower Badge Slot Unlock Costs — easier entry for new players.

On 19 July, after weeks of negotiations with a recommended contact, we executed a fully collateralized, legally binding agreement with a new market maker and transferred the first tranche of $BFTOKEN to kick-start operations.

This wasn’t routine liquidity support — the contract spelled out algorithmic buy-backs to deepen the book, stabilize price, and reward holders.

Three days later, everything unraveled.

By 22 July, the market maker had gone dark. No reports. No metrics. No proper communication.

On 23 July, we issued a formal termination notice and demanded the immediate return of the tokens. They acknowledged the breach in writing and promised to send everything back.

But by the next morning — 24 July — the token started dumping, and all communication channels were cut off.

A painful reminder that even referred partners with impeccable-looking credentials can abandon a signed contract without hesitation — and leave you to pick up the pieces.

We Acted Immediately

Once we realized what was happening, we responded without delay:

• Reached out to our partner exchanges.
• Shared our contract agreements and the formal breach & termination notice.
• Demanded the freezing of any remaining assets on wallets associated with the malicious contractor.
• Requested a temporary halt to all $BFTOKEN deposits and withdrawals.

Over the next two weeks, we worked closely with the exchanges to protect the token’s integrity and prevent additional tokens from entering circulation.

Unfortunately, by the time the freezes took effect, most of the tokens had already been dumped on the market. The damage was done — but we did manage to secure a small remainder that hadn’t been sold. A partial win in a painful situation.

The Damage

According to our internal tracking and reports from our two verified market makers, roughly 29 million $BFTOKEN were sold.

Most of these tokens landed outside of our verified MM accounts, meaning they were picked up by external traders and community members. The impact was wide-reaching, but it didn’t consolidate power in one pair of hands.

What’s Next: Lifting the Freeze

Starting today, exchanges will lift the temporary restriction on deposits and withdrawals. You’ll be able to move $BFTOKEN again, access its full utility, and participate in the game ecosystem as intended.

Recovery Plan

We can’t reverse the damage, but we can rebuild and adapt — and that’s exactly what we’re doing now:

• Stabilize the token. We’re working with trusted liquidity partners to restore healthy order books, reviewing our market-maker vetting standards, and opening direct lines of communication with exchanges to catch anomalies faster.
• Expanding its utility. Our priority is to open up more ways for $BFTOKEN to function — both across the Boss Fighters ecosystem and, potentially, beyond it. Every holder should have multiple, meaningful places to put their tokens to work.
• Onboarding new players. We’re still committed to a large-scale marketing campaign with a major industry partner. The recent token turbulence forced us to pause and re-shape the rollout, but once the surrounding pieces are in place, we’ll launch the campaign and welcome a fresh wave of fighters into the arena.

This has been a tough — and expensive — lesson. We made the wrong call, and the crypto space reminded us that bad actors are everywhere.

🔥 How It Works

Before each match, players select how many Arena Tickets to stake.

• 1 Boss faces off against 1–4 Fighters
• Fighter bots can join the match, but only human players can stake and earn rewards
• At least one Fighter and one Boss must stake tickets for the match to qualify for payouts

🏆 If your team wins:

• The Boss takes the post-entry fee prize pool (with caps in some cases)
• Fighters split the reward pool based on individual performance

🔥 If your team loses:

• Your staked Arena Tickets are burned — no refunds

All rewards are paid in $BFTOKEN, and their value comes directly from the total tickets staked in the match.

High Stakes Mode is deflationary by design.

• Second: 30 %
• Third: 20 %
• Fourth: 10 %

The better you perform, the bigger your cut.

🎁 Jackpot System

Every match contributes 5 % of the total stake pool to a growing Jackpot.
Upon any victory (Boss or Fighters), there’s a chance the entire Jackpot is instantly awarded to one random player on the winning team.

The Token Burnout Leaderboard introduces a new type of competition where the only metric that matters is how many tokens you sink. No perks. No random rolls. Just pure commitment.

How It Works

Every 1 $BFTOKEN you spend = 1 point on the leaderboard.

You earn points through any in-game token sink, including:

⚒️ Crafting Items
🎲 Boosted Rolls
🛍️ Game Shop Purchases

Your total token sink across these actions determines your position.
The more you sink — the higher you go.

Only the Top 100 players will place on the board.

💰 Reward Pool Details

The reward pool grows dynamically — the more tokens the community sinks, the bigger the pool becomes.

As the community sinks more tokens, new tiers unlock, increasing the total prize pool and the quality of Mystery Boxes.
