I wasn’t really trying to force a comeback moment. I was just going through old files on my hard drive and these songs hit me differently this time. It felt aligned with where my head is currently. So instead of forcing EMPTY CELLULAR, I followed the feeling.

Interviewer:
So EMPTY CELLULAR is postponed?
Hasi Flames:
Yeah, archived for now. Still important to me though. I just realized Find Am Well and Nah Nah! were speaking louder to my current state of mind.

Interviewer:
What does Find Am Well mean to you?
Hasi Flames:
It’s bigger than money. It’s really about intention. Whatever you’re searching for in life; find am well. Don’t move blindly. Don’t lose yourself chasing things. The song talks about survival, pressure, hustle, respect, faith… just trying to navigate everything without losing your core.

Interviewer:
There’s a line:
"If na money you dey find oboi find am well…"
That feels like the center of the record.
Hasi Flames:
Exactly. That line is the heartbeat of the song. Everybody dey chase something. I’m just saying do it properly, consciously.

Interviewer:
Then Nah Nah! feels more energetic and defiant.
Hasi Flames:
Because after reflection comes movement. Nah Nah! is basically saying we can’t stop. Too much life has happened already to quit now. It’s resilience. Especially coming from where we come from.

Interviewer:
One line that stands out is:
"From a city where they wish you well but vex you dey do better."
Hasi Flames:
That line is real life. A lot of people understand that feeling immediately. Sometimes support and envy live in the same place. You just learn to keep moving regardless.

Interviewer:
The project has strong spiritual undertones too.
Hasi Flames:
Yeah because faith is part of how I process life. Even the chaos. Even the pressure. The music isn’t pretending I have everything figured out, but there’s still belief inside it.

Interviewer:
You released this independently on Audiomack instead of the major streaming rollout route. Why?
Hasi Flames:
Some of the beats couldn’t clear for full DSP distribution because they’d already been used before, but I didn’t want the music to die on my hard drive because of that and I didn’t want to recreate the song and beat. So I adapted. Sometimes you move with what you have and keep the art alive.

Interviewer:
How do you feel seeing low streaming numbers from previous work like SEASIDE ESTATE EP?
Hasi Flames:
It low-key hurts, honestly. But I’m learning not to measure the value of the art only through numbers. Sometimes the audience hasn’t reached the music yet. I’m still building, still growing. Still learning how to connect the sound to the people who need it.

What do you want people to feel after listening to Find Am Well / Nah Nah!?
Hasi Flames:
Motion. Reflection. Hope. Hunger. I want it to feel like somebody surviving their own thoughts but still deciding to move forward anyway.

SEASIDE ESTATE COMPLETE DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

Origins:

Hasi Flames is a Nigerian hip-hop artist, songwriter, lyricist, spoken word performer, actor, and voice-over artist from Benin City, Edo State. Long before the name became a movement, Hasi was experimenting with words, rhythm, and sound searching for a way to turn his life experiences into art.

The First Recordings (2013–2016):

Hasi Flames very first recording came in 2013, as a feature on “Power Circle” by Rednaxela. Later that year, he released his debut single, ironically titled “The End” which was the beginning of his story as a recording artist. Around this time, Hasi also dropped a cover of Lil Wayne’s “Mirror”, showing his early lyrical influences and ambition.

Though these early songs were raw, they laid the foundation for the artist he would become.

Finding His Voice Online (2017–2018):

By 2017, Hasi Flames began uploading to Audiomack and SoundCloud, experimenting with singles, covers, and collaborations. This period helped him test his style, connect with listeners online, and prepare for a bigger vision.

The Epiphany & The Music Run (2019–2020):

Everything changed in 2019. After a spiritual epiphany and vision, Hasi Flames decided to take his music more seriously. He called this new phase the Music Run; a documented journey of songs, projects, and growth.

Key singles like Sparky (Released May 12, 2019), Pitch Black (Released October 24, 2019), and LIC (Life I Chose) (Released September 18, 2020) built momentum. Later that year, he dropped his debut EP, “Black Boy Magic” (Released December 4, 2020), a five-track project that declared his presence and set the stage for what was to come.

The Streaming Era & Collaborations (2021–2022):

The following years saw Hasi Flames staying consistent on streaming platforms. He dropped singles such as “Bugs Bunny” and “Blue Iris”, and featured on collaborations with artists like Nonick (Do You, Freestyle) and Vick09Viper (Eleven 21 Freestyle).

This was a time of exploration, sharpening his sound while connecting with other creatives.

The Mixtape Marathon (2023–2025):

From late 2023 to mid-2025, Hasi Flames went on one of the most relentless creative streaks of his career. In just 18 months, he released:

The Marathon:

From December 2023 to mid-2025, I went on one of the most relentless creative streaks of my life. Looking back now, it feels like a marathon of mixtapes, singles, and raw energy poured into the music.

In less than two years, I released 8 projects and 6 singles. 69 songs in total (not even counting guest appearances). At the time, I wasn’t keeping score. Reflection:

When I look back on this period, I see more than just numbers. I see long nights, endless sessions, risks, experiments, and breakthroughs. I see a version of myself that refused to slow down, even when life was heavy.

Sixty-nine songs across 18 months wasn’t about chasing stats — it was about proving to myself that I could go all-in. Every track was a step, every mixtape a checkpoint, every single a piece of the story.

This run showed me the importance of documenting the journey. Because one day, you look back and realize: you weren’t just making songs, you were building a legacy.

Reflection:

This chapter was about collaboration and visibility.
I experimented, lent my voice to other artists’ work, and started to see how my sound could adapt and grow in different spaces. It was about stepping outside the box and proving I could hold my own anywhere.
