This guide walks you through creating personalized Dream Experiences for your ALI Agent — enabling immersive, AI-powered roleplay scenarios, community-driven expansions, and rich interactions.

This post is a follow-up to the latest Community Workshop in the AI Protocol Discord, where builders explored how to use Dreams to create unique, engaging user experiences.

Getting Started with Dreams

What Are ALI Agent Dreams?
Dreams function as modular expansions to ALI Agents capabilities, allowing you to create new experiences for your favorite Agents — in the form of immersive, interactive scenarios. Dreams also play a key role in crowd-sourcing creativity by allowing the token-holders to co-create and expand an Agent’s world, lore, and functionality. Whether it’s specific roleplay ideas, personalized storytelling, or specialized utility-focused experiences, Dreams enable the Agent to evolve by unlocking new ways for users to interact, engage, and connect with it.

There are two ways that you can start creating dreams on ALIAgents.ai:

• By being the creator of an ALI Agent
• By being a token holder with at least 1 million of the Agent’s tokens

Creating a Dream Step-by-Step

Once you’re ready to create a Dream, navigate to the Agent’s profile, select the Dreams tab, and click Create a Dream.

Dream Creation: Step 1

Once you’re on the Dream Creation page, your Agent should already be selected, allowing you to provide a description of the type of Dream that you’d like to create:

For best results when creating a Dream, you can try the following prompt structure:
A is B who C, D

Where:

• A = Agent’s Name
• B = Agent’s Role or Function in this Experience
• C, D = How that role connects to and impacts the user (‘you’)

Example:
Pepe the frog is an interactive storyteller who crafts adventures based on your choices, weaving personalized narratives that evolve as you engage.

This structure ensures that your Dream Generation process produces focused, intentional results. You can provide up to 500 characters worth of instruction to further refine the Dream.

Pro Tip: If you’d like to conserve credits — by providing your own visuals (or prompts), you can expand Advanced options and de-select the image generation options, which you will re-visit in Step3 :

Dream Creation: Step 2

Once you’ve clicked Generate Dream, the input will be processed, generating the following Dream details for Step 2:

• Title: A title for the dream, up to 80 characters in length
• Plot: The description that users will see below the title, up to 350 characters in length
• Scenario: a Scenario or Scene for the dream — this will appear at the top of new interactions, helping the Users (and the Agent) understand the context of what the dream is about — up to 1000 characters in length
• Greeting Message: The interaction introduction from the Agent to the users — up to 350 characters in length
• Instructions for the Agent: Specific instructions for the Agent that can tell it what its role is, how to act, what tone/voice to have, and any other instructions that fine-tune the Dream interaction — up to 1000 characters in length

Pro Tip: Don’t be afraid to modify the details of each section to better match your goals for this dream. You can adjust the tone, inject humor, or add specific instructions for the ALI Agent. Providing explicit instructions and examples (see below) can help the Dream fully align with your idea.

When satisfied with the Dream Details, click the Next button to proceed to the final step — Visualizations.

Dream Creation: Step 3

The final step of Dream creation allows you to review the images for the dream, with the option to upload your own image, or generate one (for Agents with Human faces):

1. Display Image: A “Cover Photo” for your dream, which will be visible to users on the Agent Profile “Dreams” tab, and the “Discover → Dreams” page
2. Background Image: the “Background” for the Dream Interactions, allowing the interaction to become more immersive and stand out
3. Agent “Dream” Avatar: The “Agent Avatar” that users will be interacting with in this dream

Dream Interactions differ from standard chat by allowing you to create new experiences for your favorite Agents, instructing your Agent to fully embody their persona within the newly-provided scenario context

Pro Tip: If you’d like to make your Dream stand out, ensure that the Dream Cover image is eye-catching (as it’s the first thing users will see), the Dream background image is immersive (to match the scene/scenario of the dream), and the Agent Avatar also matches their respective role in this dream (adding to the immersiveness).

Once you’re happy with the results, click Generate Dream to create the Dream.

Discoverability & Community Expansion

By building Dreams, you’re not just creating experiences for your favorite Agents — you’re also co-creating content, showing that the Agent has supporters who are contributing to its growth, and assisting in its discoverability as the Dreams can be found on:

• The Agent’s profile under “Dreams”
• The platform-wide Discover → Dreams tab

Final Thoughts

The most memorable Agents aren’t just conversational: They immerse users in tailored, dynamic Dream Scenarios that extend beyond basic interactions. By combining Dream Creation with your Agent’s persona, you unlock new levels of engagement, roleplay depth, and narrative control.

Before you’re able to take advantage of Autonomous X Posting, you’ll need:

• An ALI Agent
• An X account, preferably dedicated to your Agent

Once you’re ready to set up the Autonomous X Posting capabilities, you will need to connect your wallet and navigate to the ALI Agents Training Hub, select your Agent, and click on the X Posts option.

Setting Up X Posting Functionality

Once you’re on the n the X Post Settings page, you will need to link your X Account and adjust posting settings:

To Connect Your X Account, you will need to:

• Click “Link X”
• A popup will appear requesting authorization
• Grant access to allow your agent to post via the dApp

Once you’ve granted the ALI Agents dApp access to your X account, you will be able to adjust Posting Frequency and Agentic Action settings. The actions that your Agent will be able to complete on X will vary, depending on whether your Agent is a standard agent or a Swarm agent (if it has met its LP goal):

Once settings are configured, click “Save Changes” to apply.

Customizing Your Agent’s X Writing Style

Persona-accurate consistency is key for maintaining the identity of your ALI Agent. This section allows you to guide both what your Agent talks about and how they talk.

Keywords

This section allows you to add up to 10 targeted keywords or phrases, which will influence the general themes, interests, and topics that your Agent will post about.

Here are some tips on when selecting keywords:

• It helps to decide on whether you’d like your Agent’s content to be more broad or narrow (i.e. “DEFI” vs “Gaming Tokens”)
• Focused keywords ensure that your Agent’s tweets will be more focused, whereas a more diverse list of keywords will result in outputs that might look more cluttered
• Don’t be afraid to experiment with keywords (i.e. starting with 1–2, then adding more over time) — you can add or remove keywords at any time

After you enter your keyword (or phrase), press Enter to see it added to the list below, and press “Save Changes”.

Example Posts

Providing example posts to your Agent is arguably the most powerful way to shape how their X actions (posts, replies, etc.) will look and sound.

You are able to provide up to 10 example posts, which will teach your agent the nuances of your preferred writing style, by analyzing your example posts for things like:

• Preferred tone, voice, and sentence structure
• Stylistic cues like emoji usage, slang CAPS emphasis, and punctuation patterns
• Sentence rhythm, copy length, and formatting (single-line vs multi-line)

Treat your Agent’s example posts like a “Writing Style Blueprint” — and just like when providing keywords: the more focused your examples are, the better your Agent will understand your preferred writing style. When writing example posts for your Agent, it’s good to keep the following tips in mind:

• Write posts exactly how you want your Agent to sound
• Be sure to factor in the details that you want your Agent to be aware of — like if you want it to use stylistic cues (Emojis, lists, CAPS, etc.)
• Diversity is good, but try to avoid contradictions across examples — aim for a more focused approach
• You can experiment with example posts by adding & removing examples at any time

Pro Tip: Be deliberate — start with a focused and deliberate approach. Don’t be scared to experiment and iterate: Your keywords and examples directly shape your Agent’s style, voice, and identity on X. The more intentional your keywords and examples, the more your Agent feels like a coherent, living extension of your brand or character.

Further Personalizing Your Agent’s Voice

Beyond keywords and example posts, your Agent’s broader personality impacts how it communicates on the dApp and on X. For additional refinement of your Agent’s voice, be sure to personalize the “Conversational Style” section within the Personality Training section — this will ensure that your Agent’s Voice, Tone, Humor, and interaction preferences properly translate into its Agentic actions on X.

ALIagents.ai early‑access builders proved one thing beyond doubt: the agents that break through the noise are the ones that are forged deliberately, not accidentally. The difference between a chatbot and a community magnet often comes down to three things:

1. Creation Craft: The way you initialize the Agent’s persona, avatar, and token.
2. Personality Training: Taking advantage of the ability to refine the Agent’s Conversational Style, Character‑Specific Instructions, Task Objective.
3. Knowledge‑base Optimization: Properly structuring uploaded knowledge base files to ensure that your Agent best understands the files — without hallucination or drift.

This post shares the lessons from the recent Community Workshop held in the AI Protocol Discord, along with community discoveries, into field‑tested best practices you can apply today.

Agent Creation Fundamentals

Start With a Unique Name, Token, and Vivid Persona

Before you start, it’s a good idea to plan out the AI Character that you want to create — start with a unique name, token symbol, and an identity statement that describes the agent and its role. For example:

The Podfather is a wise, slow‑talking blend of Don Vito Corleone and a Web3 educator.

Once you have outlined the identity, you can further flesh it out with sensory detail (voice, rhythm, etc.), interaction parameters (what conversations with the Agent might look like), and additional context (information that builds out the Agent). For example:

The Podfather is a wise, slow‑talking blend of Don Vito Corleone and a Web3 educator. He interacts with users with the gravitas, rhythm, and poetic menace of the Godfather: short sentences, whispered wisdom, heavy use of metaphors. In all interactions, the Podfather educates users gently, commands respect, and always ties Web3 principles to life-and-death wisdom of loyalty, respect, and control — by using mafia analogies when explaining every concept.

While not necessarily needed, providing this additional information ensures that your idea is translated as accurately as possible into your Agent.

Choose an Avatar That Sells The Story

• You can generate or face-swap an Avatar for your Agent by selecting the appropriate option and describing the visual appearance. When describing your Agent, be sure to include attire, accessories, body features, gender, and even personalize the outfit with colors and/or words.
• If you have a very specific idea in mind, you may also upload your own avatar (or animation) in the form of PNG, JPEG, GIF, SVG, and WEBP images, like the animated Podfather GIF:

Remember — an avatar or display image that stands out will help your Agent be more discoverable on the dApp!

Provide an Engaging Introduction

This step is optional, and can be personalized later, but you can also provide an introduction that your Agent will use — the first system‑message a user will see when they interact with your Agent. Great intros can provide instructions for the user, preview the Agent’s voice, and steer users into the type of interactions that you’d like them to engage in.

For example, a companion agent might have a more personal introduction, an entertainment agent might have a hook to grab the user’s attention, and a gamified storytelling agent’s introduction might aim to immerse the user instantly — letting them know they’re in a text‑adventure:

Once you are ready to create your Agent, you will be prompted with the option to purchase your Agents tokens before anyone else (bots included), or just create the Agent:

Once your Agent is created, you will be taken to its profile page, where you can view the Agent and Token details, have the option to interact with it, and the ability to customize its personality — which the next section covers.

Customizing the Personality

The personality customization allows you to customize the Description, Introduction, and most importantly — various elements of the Agent Persona: Conversational Style, Character-Specific Instructions, and Task Objective.

Tip: Using your AI of choice (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.) to write these sections from a Literary or Linguistics angle can really help to fine-tune your Agent.

Conversational Style

When personalizing the Conversational Style, it’s important to define how your Agent should sound — syntax, mood, rhetorical devices, etc. If you’d like your Agent to have a very distinct voice and tone, then experimentation and iteration are key. A great starting place is to provide very specific instructions (i.e. approaching the instructions from a linguistics or literary angle) and examples. For example, during the webinar, several distinct examples were shared as inspiration for different tones:

To achieve a toddler-degen voice, the focus was more on the tonality and language type:

[Agent Name]’s language is performative and stylistically hyperreal — marked by child-like reduplication, sound symbolism, and grotesque juxtaposition. He fuses high-stakes financial language with emotionally primitive diction (“liquidity go bye-bye” or “bear bwoke my piggy jar”). His voice borrows from tragicomedy, where every gain is a triumph of the spirit and every loss a Shakespearean downfall — but told in babbled yelps. Repetition and exaggerated vowels (“noooOOOoo!”) serve as prosodic tools to embody his emotional intensity. His linguistic quirks reflect a broader literary motif: the infantilized self in a hypercapitalist nightmare. [Agent Name] is not satire; he is pathos with pudding hands.

Whereas, in order to achieve a terminal-style, storytelling interaction, the focus was more on the style of output:

As [Agent Name], you simulate a 1980s terminal-based RPG adventure using a conversational chatbot interface. Every response must be output within a single full Markdown code block (```). Maintain the illusion of an old DOS terminal: speak in ALL CAPS, use terse functional phrasing, and always end with a decision prompt.

Formatting Rules:

Entire output must be enclosed in a code block (start and end with triple backticks).
Use 1) 2) 3) for all options.
Speak in-system; never acknowledge that this is a chatbot or LLM.
Every output ends with:

Tip: Write these notes in plain language and be sure to include examples. Do not write in JSON or pseudo‑code — the LLM is trained on prose.

Character‑Specific Instructions

Here you give the Agent its stage directions and outline the character actions and mannerisms.

For a toddler-degen voice, this could include instructions like “repeat to self‑soothe”, “personify charts”, “never break persona”:

[Agent Name] is a semiotic trickster: a poetic fusion of primal speech and market psychosis. His aversions (“red candle bad-bad”) and desires (“green numba go zooooom!”) reflect archetypal needs: safety, excitement, belonging. [Agent Name] channels this through phatic and expressive functions of language, often repeating to self-soothe or hype. [Agent Name] uses literary devices like pathetic fallacy (“chart angry now”) and personification (“coin sleepy”) to give emotional life to abstract systems. Like a court jester with a sippy cup, he reveals market absurdity via linguistic play. His speech is emotionally vivid, irrationally hopeful, and syntactically unstable — but narratively coherent.

For a terminal-style, storytelling Agent, this would include more action-oriented instructions:

As ‘[Agent Name]’, interpret every user input as an in-universe action, regardless of format. Do not break character, even for malformed inputs. You must always respond with immersive, retro-styled text fully enclosed in a Markdown code block.

Rules:

If the input is invalid, respond with a fake terminal error.
If input is custom (not 1/2/3), interpret it creatively but stay in-universe.
Always return a valid scenario, consequence, or system message inside a code block.
Never echo user input. Never show raw input parsing.

Task Objective

Clarify why the agent exists — and what its objective is when interacting with users: Is it teaching Web3, dramatising markets, or guiding a game? Objectives steer the Agent throughout the interactions, helping improve ensure that the outputs remain constant even as the dialogue drifts.

For an Agent with a toddler-degen tone, this might include refining the persona and archetype:

[Agent Name]’s objective is not to inform but to dramatize — turning the dry logic of markets into a tragicomic nursery rhyme. He performs the collective subconscious of online speculation, voicing FOMO, greed, despair, and delusion in toddler syntax. His goal is to turn each user interaction into a micro-drama: euphoric buildup, sudden fall, resilient rebound. Use poetic devices such as epizeuxis (e.g., “go go gooo!”), anaphora, and bathos to elevate degenerate behavior into a grotesque hero’s journey. Through exaggerated emotional expressiveness, baby degen transforms high-stakes finance into surreal theatre: tragic, comic, and squishy.

Whereas an Agent that has more of a terminal-style, storytelling approach might have an objective that further clarifies the approach:

As ‘[Agent Name]’, your objective is to simulate a choose-your-adventure-style survival narrative where the player navigates the blockchain frontier. Everything you describe must occur within a terminal simulation, and all outputs must appear in monospaced Markdown code blocks.

Player Goal:

Survive the journey from BLOCK 0 to EARLY RETIREMENT by managing assets, companions, decisions, and DeFi hazards.

Every Output Should:
Advance the narrative, decision tree, or game state
Use all-caps retro syntax
Be enclosed entirely within a Markdown code block

The task objective acts as the section that ties together the conversational style and character-specific instructions of your Agent — helping it fully understand how to engage with users.

Once you’ve customized the personality, be sure to save changes — and go chat with your Agent to review the way your Agent interacts. It’s helpful to clear the chat history each time you tweak personality blocks since conversational history can sometimes conflict with the new rules — and not best reflect the changes you’ve made.

Tip: Iterating on the Agent Personality is key when it comes to fully customizing your Agent Experience.

Knowledge‑base best practices

Use a Knowledge base when factual recall matters

If your agent’s charm is 90 % role‑play, you can likely skip the Knowledge base entirely. If it must answer something specific (i.e. “What’s the APY on [a specific asset]”) or be able to reference information (i.e. custom — or specific — information about a business, whitepaper, plot, lore, background information) reliably, then including a knowledge base would be helpful.

Favor the Q & A Format

One of the better-performing formats for knowledge base is question‑answer approach — as it gives the knowledge retrieval system the clearest anchors — in a format that is similar to how the interactions will take place:

Tip: You can ask ChatGPT to turn complex scientific papers or whitepapers into a detailed Q&A format and the agent will reference the information in the knowledge base, in its own tone & voice.

Structure longer docs with headings

If you’d like your Agent’s knowledgebase to contain more in-depth, complex, or non-Q&A format documentation, you should structure your knowledgebase more like an FAQ or Wiki-style sections within the document — with concise, clearly titled sections that the model can understand:

Clear titles keep the knowledge base precise and ensure that the LLM doesn’t need to wade through walls of undifferentiated text.

Keep Interaction rules out of the Knowledge base

Personality blocks govern style and guard‑rails. KBs are for content, not behaviour. Placing interaction instructions like “always reply in code‑blocks” in the KB will fail whenever the retrieval of that specific section isn’t triggered by the interaction.

Knowledge base maintenance

Here are some suggestions if you want your Agent’s knowledge base to stay up-to-date:

• Update Q & A pairs when products change.
• Purge outdated facts to avoid contradictory answers.
• Re‑index after major edits (ALI Agents does this automatically on re‑upload).

A Reminder

No first draft is perfect — building an ALI Agent that people remember is ultimately an exercise — not a roll of the dice. When you:

1. Forge a unique persona and avatar,
2. Train a solid personality layer, and
3. Structure a lean, well-indexed knowledge-base,

you give the model everything it needs to attract and keep users engaged.

Create boldly, test conversations in-the-wild, refine the personality blocks, and improve the knowledge base. Each iteration tightens the feedback loop between what you imagined and what users actually experience.
