Shouldn’t it be the ‘dead life’?

I don’t really know if it makes sense, but that’s how life feels right now. Like I’m dead AND alive at the same time. Not one, then the other. Both at once.

It’s not a bad feeling, I must admit. It’s exactly like when you experience victory and loss all at once; you don’t quite understand what you feel but you just let it.

By now, I’m certain everyone around me has suspected that I live a double life. But truth is,

I’m neither here, nor there. I’m somewhere in between.

Somewhere only a lost soul would thrive.

Here you need not worry about direction. Whether you are moving forward or you are just stagnant. All you have to think about is staying lost. Because maybe, just maybe. You might find yourself.

In my case. All I found was ghosts of me. I didn’t know if that meant I found myself but irregardless I stayed intrigued. At first I was afraid to let them near me but with time, instead of hiding and running, I learnt how to exist together.

I was finally comfortable in the land of ghosts and lost souls.

To get hurt? To feel fulfilled? Accepted? Or is it just because it’s what the heart wants?

So many questions but who has the answers?

They say the teacher appears when the student is ready. So, where did my ‘love’ teacher divert to? Because to be honest after all the curve balls I’ve had to dodge in order to preserve my being. I thought I was more than ready.

Or maybe they saw how stubborn I can get when it comes to love, that they opted for an easy way out. Wait, I should stay positive… They probably just think I’m not ready yet. And that’s okay.

To be honest. I haven’t had the best of experiences when it comes to love but one thing is for sure, I have morphed.

Into something good or bad? Mastered his silhouette and made sure all his features were engraved on my mind.

His smile was like none I’ve ever seen. He had elongated canines and a perfect jaw line. One you’d get lost staring at. Let alone touch.

I want to say we met on one fine afternoon, but I’d be lying. It was the hottest day, that day. I was sweating profusely and he was late.

I didn’t care if he was, but somehow he did. He cared a tad too much that I wasn’t late.

‘Hey are you there yet?’

‘Should I just turn around and go back if you aren’t gonna make it?’

After a series of what I like to call ‘dry threats’ I finally replied.

‘Hey, I’m almost there. You literally almost canceled on me because you THOUGHT I’d not show’.

I did not believe his reply and neither will you.

He said,

‘Damn, you must really hate this heat shawty. That’s the only thing I can hear myself say in my head. After so many plot twists I finally agreed to the saying, ‘Mama knows best’. I should have never let my guard down.

But again, maybe I needed to. So I could be able to feel for once. To feel without letting the fear take over because sadly, it never leaves. I believe in long term everything. Long term partnerships, long term experiences, even long term purchases. It’s normal for me to expect the people I interact with to believe in the same things too otherwise, wouldn’t we be wasting each other’s time?

If wishes were horses

Hardly anyone I interacted with seemed to believe in the same things I did. I complained subtly to my mother almost all the time. And she never failed to tell me this, ‘Daughter, you need not rush, because the people, the experiences you think you are chasing will always be there waiting for you’.

I thought at first that was crazy. How would things just be there at my disposal? I was used to doing the work to get the things I want and trust me I still do. But somehow, I wanted to experience what my mother was talking about.

So I let go

I let go of everything I had. Friends, memories, heartaches, laughs. I wasn’t sure if I knew who I was without these things but I knew I wanted a fresh start. I wanted to try something different and because it was all bound to happen… I Iet it.

I finally let my guard down.

It’s almost like; waiting was made to be one of my life’s purpose. All my life, I’ve had to wait for the ‘good’ things to happen to me...

Wait for my step-sister to get the hang of things in school. Wait for my father to decide if we’re going to move to the country or stay in the city. Wait, even for a man to learn that I am worth being adored.

IT WAS NORMAL TO WAIT AT THIS POINT. BUT IT BECAME UNBEARABLE.

I was 22 and still waiting for life to go my way. In campus it was easy for me to turn everything off and just live. To live, at that time was just simply put, avoiding anything that made me feel. I learnt to enjoy men but never expected them to fill me up. I learnt to be around people but again, I never really let them see what I was made of.

The fact that no one noticed I was struggling to stay afloat made me sink deeper into what I’d like to call a never ending ‘abyss’. But I was so tired of falling. I just wanted to wake up one day and have the courage to stop waiting on someone or something to save me from this so called pain.

IT HAPPENED.

I woke up on a random Saturday morning and I felt an energy I never felt before. I was enthusiastic. Even in the waiting. This morning, I didn’t feel the need to run away from my waiting. In fact I wanted to stay there. I wanted to bask in whatever season I was in. Fully.

So, I took my journal and after a couple of fails, I finally got something to write. It went…

‘Saturdays’ the only day I feel whole. Maybe I should make today the day when I honor every wait. I’ll call it the ‘long pause’.

I will take my time to enjoy everything life let’s me have. Because surely, life has always happened FOR me. There is almost no learning curve. You log in, pick a template, tweak your inputs, and you are ready to publish.

The output is fast. Blaze.ai produces polished drafts within seconds, which is perfect when you have tight deadlines.

The variety of templates is impressive. No matter what you need, there is likely a template to jumpstart your project.

It offers excellent value for money compared to many premium AI writing tools.

What Could Be Better

Some drafts feel a little generic, so you still need to fine-tune them for originality.

The long-form editing features are limited. If you produce in-depth articles, you might need a dedicated editor or another tool to refine your work.

The SEO functionality is helpful but does not replace advanced tools like Clearscope or Surfer SEO.

The Bottom Line

If you want a platform that helps you turn ideas into polished drafts quickly, Blaze.ai delivers on its promise.

It doesn’t matter if you are growing a business, managing multiple clients, or simply tired of staring at a blank screen, Blaze.ai is worth trying.

Are you ready to experience it for yourself?

Click here to try it for FREE !

Its boxy silhouette, complemented by its bold grille and circular headlamps, makes an instant statement on the road.

The high ground clearance and vigorous build emphasize its off-road capabilities, while the premium exterior finishes, such as metallic paints and chrome accents, highlight its luxurious nature. In this review, we’ll take a closer look at what sets this car apart from the rest.

Performance and Handling

Underneath its rugged exterior lies a powerful engine that delivers an impressive performance both on and off-road. The G-Wagen comes equipped with a standard 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out 416 horsepower and 450 lb (0.2 ton)-ft of torque. This powerhouse allows the car to go from 0 to 60 mph (ca. 97 km/h) in just 5.6 seconds, making it one of the fastest SUVs in its class.

But what truly sets the G-Class apart is its exceptional handling. The permanent all-wheel-drive system, along with the three differential locks and adjustable suspension, ensures maximum grip and control even in the most challenging terrains. Whether you’re cruising on the highway or trudging through rough terrain, the G-Wagen offers a smooth and stable ride.

Luxury Redefined

Step inside the G-Class and be prepared to be swept away by its luxurious interior. The cabin is filled with premium materials such as leather, wood, and metal accents that exude elegance and sophistication. The seats are comfortable yet supportive, making long drives a breeze.

The car also comes equipped with state-of-the-art technology features such as a 12.3-inch infotainment display, a Burmester surround sound system, and various driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. These not only add to the comfort and convenience but also elevate the overall driving experience.

Off-Road Capabilities

The G-Wagen is built for off-road adventures. It’s high ground clearance, approach and departure angles make sure that no obstacle is too big for this car. Here are some of its notable off-road features:

Three differential locks: These locks distribute power evenly to all wheels, ensuring maximum traction on any terrain.

High-strength steel frame: The G-Class is built on a rugged ladder-type frame that can withstand extreme conditions and provide superior durability.

Adjustable suspension: With the press of a button, you can switch between different driving modes, whether it’s driving on gravel or climbing over rocks.

Conclusion

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is more than just a car, it’s a statement. Its blend of luxury and ruggedness sets it apart from other SUVs in the market. With its powerful engine, exceptional handling, luxurious interior, and off-road capabilities, this car truly offers the best of both worlds. If you’re looking for an SUV that can tackle any terrain while still providing comfort and style, the G-Wagen is the perfect choice for you.

You have the freedom to work with clients you admire, take on projects that align with your interests, and write from anywhere in the world. However, one of the biggest challenges many freelance writers face is deciding how much to charge for their work.

If your rates are too low, you risk being overworked and underpaid. And if your rates are too high, you may struggle to attract clients. So how do you strike the perfect balance between earning what you're worth and remaining competitive in the market? In this guide, you'll discover how to confidently set freelance writing rates that reflect your skills, appeal to high-quality clients, and lay the foundation for a thriving freelance business.

Understanding What Affects Your Rates

To set rates that reflect the true value of your work, you first need a clear understanding of what drives them. Pricing isn’t about guesswork; it’s about making smart, informed decisions based on the unique value you bring. Let’s take a closer look at the key elements that influence what you can charge as a freelance writer and how to use them to your advantage.

Your Experience and Skill Level

As your experience grows, so does your value. When you’re just starting out, you might set lower rates to gain traction and build your portfolio. That’s a practical strategy at the beginning. However, as your writing improves and you begin delivering measurable results, your rates should reflect that growth.

Clients aren’t just paying for words; they’re paying for insight, precision, and the confidence that comes with hiring a professional. If you’re in the early stages, charging $15 to $25 per hour is common. But with more experience, proven results, and strong client feedback, you can raise your rate to $50, $75, or even more depending on your niche.

Market and Industry Standards

Your pricing should align with industry benchmarks, but it should also reflect your unique skills and the type of work you deliver. Start by researching what writers in your niche are charging. Look at job boards, freelance communities, and industry surveys. Experienced freelance writers generally charge between $25 and $60 per hour.

This gives you a reference point, but you’ll want to adjust based on the value you bring to the table and the level of specialization required. It’s also wise to stay on top of trends. For example, if you’re writing in fast-growing fields like AI, blockchain, or e-commerce, demand may drive rates higher. The more informed you are, the more confidently you can price your services.

Niche Writing

Writing for high-value industries such as technology, finance, or healthcare can significantly boost your earning potential. Clients in these fields often require writers who understand their complex topics and terminology. When you present yourself as a subject-matter expert, you reduce the learning curve for the client.

That added value allows you to charge more because you’re not just writing, you’re helping them communicate with authority. If you also bring formal training or professional experience in the field, like a healthcare background for medical content, that credibility enhances your pricing power even further.

Who You Work With

The type of client you serve plays a big role in what you can charge. Large companies and established agencies often have bigger budgets and are used to paying professional rates. Small businesses and startups may have tighter constraints. If you aim to command premium rates, position yourself for clients who value quality over quantity.

A corporate client might pay over $500 for a comprehensive white paper, while a solo entrepreneur might only have $150 for a blog post. Working with agencies can also be a smart move. While rates may be slightly lower per project, agencies often offer a steady stream of assignments. That consistency can lead to a reliable income base while you pursue higher-paying clients on the side.

Choosing the Right Pricing Model

Now that you understand the factors that influence your rates, it’s time to decide how to present them to clients. Whether you’re working on short blog posts or long-form white papers, each option has its pros and cons depending on the scope and style of the project.

Hourly Rates

Billing hourly works well when the scope is uncertain or the project involves ongoing adjustments. This model ensures you’re fairly compensated for every minute you invest. When using hourly pricing, give clients a clear time estimate upfront.

This helps manage expectations and avoids surprises later on. To also stay on track, consider using tools like Toggle or Harvest to monitor your hours and assess your productivity. This data can help you refine your estimates and ensure your time is used effectively.

Per-Word Rates

Charging per word is common for short-form content like blogs or articles. It offers clarity and predictability for clients and makes it easy to quote projects quickly. Rates typically range from $0.10 to $0.50 per word, depending on your expertise and the topic’s complexity.

This model, however, may not account for research, planning, or editing time. To protect your time, set a minimum fee for small assignments. For example, even if a client wants a 300-word article, you might charge a flat $100 minimum to ensure fair compensation.

Per-Project Rates

Flat fees are ideal for larger, more complex assignments. They help avoid the limitations of hourly or per-word models and allow you to price based on value rather than time. Let’s say you’re creating a 20-page e-book. You might quote $1,500 to cover research, drafting, revisions, and formatting.

But be sure to specify exactly what’s included, so expectations are clear. You can also divide the work into phases, such as research, outline, draft, and revisions, so clients see the full value of your process and feel confident in your approach.

Mistakes That Keep You Underpaid

Even the most talented freelance writers can fall into pricing traps. If you’re not earning what you’re worth, chances are you’re making one of these common mistakes. Let’s identify them and explore how you can avoid leaving money on the table.

Undercharging to Win Clients

It’s tempting to lower your price to land a gig, especially when you’re just starting. But clients who are focused on getting the cheapest deal often become the most difficult to please. Rather than underpricing, highlight the value you provide. When you deliver work that gets results, clients are more likely to invest in your services.

Forgetting to Raise Your Rates

Many writers hesitate to increase their rates, especially when they’ve built a steady client base. But holding on to the same prices year after year can limit your growth. As your skills improve and your results speak for themselves, your pricing should reflect that progress. Reviewing your rates regularly ensures they align with the value you provide, and also helps you build a business that grows with you.

Not Charging for Extras

Writing is rarely just about writing. You may be conducting research, optimizing for SEO, communicating with clients, or formatting documents. All of that adds value and takes time. Make sure your rates reflect the full scope of your service. Either build these elements into your base rate or list them as optional add-ons.

How to Communicate Your Value With Confidence

Clear communication is just as important as setting the right price. To help clients say yes with confidence, here’s how to present your value in a way that truly resonates.

Highlight the Value, Not Just the Price

When discussing pricing, focus on outcomes. Are you helping clients boost search engine rankings, improve conversions, or build brand credibility? Don’t just say, “This blog post is $300.” Say, “This $300 article includes SEO research, a compelling structure, and edits to ensure it speaks directly to your audience.”

Provide Flexible Solutions

Sometimes a client wants to work with you but has a limited budget. That doesn’t mean you have to lower your rates. Instead, offer a scaled-back version of the service. Maybe that means writing a shorter article or offering fewer revision rounds. This shows flexibility without compromising your value.

Use Tiered Pricing to Offer Options

Tiered packages give clients choices and allow you to showcase your range of services. You can also encourage upsells by clearly outlining what’s included at each level.

Here’s a sample structure:

Basic: $100 for 500 words and 1 revision

Pro: $200 for 1,000 words, SEO optimization, and 2 revisions

Premium: $500 for in-depth research, keyword strategy, and unlimited edits

By offering different tiers, you let clients pick the package that best meets their needs while helping you maintain profitability.

Final Thoughts

Pricing your writing services is more than just setting numbers. It’s about understanding your worth, communicating your value, and aligning your rates with the results you deliver.

When you approach your pricing with strategy and confidence, you not only earn what you deserve, but also attract the kind of clients who respect your expertise. So, trust your skills, keep refining your approach, and build a writing career that truly works for you.

You may be wondering what to pack, how to be safe, and if you’re truly ready for the trail. The good news is, you don’t have to be an expert to have a good first hike. It only requires the right mentality and some must-haves. Continue reading if you’re ready to feel more prepared, confident, and excited about your first outdoor adventure!

Take Small Steps

Start with short beginner hikes that are near home. Choose trails that are well-marked and have gentle terrain. When searching for an easy trail that works with your trip, apps like All Trails and Google Maps (which also have user reviews and maps) can be extremely helpful. Your aim is not to immediately get to the destination, but to settle in and live your way up.

Pack Smart, Not Heavy

It doesn’t take expensive gear to get started. Just the basics: water, snacks, sunscreen, a small first aid kit and a fully charged phone. Steer clear of anything cotton, as it retains moisture and can leave you feeling soggy as you hike. Instead, consider moisture-wicking clothes and shoes with appropriate traction and ankle support.

Stay Safe and Aware

Always inform someone of your destination and expected return. Stay on marked trails and don’t take shortcuts. And if something doesn’t feel right, like the weather or your energy level, it’s perfectly fine to head back.

Enjoy the Experience

Lastly, getting there is more than just arriving. It’s about taking your time, being mindful of the outdoors, learning step by step. Each hike continually gets you to be more confident and connects you closer with nature. So be patient, be curious, and enjoy the trip.

The hourglass body shape, with its balanced proportions and defined waist, is often considered the ideal silhouette. Although finding the right outfits that highlight your curves can sometimes feel like a challenge, worry not!

This blog will explore three stylish ways to dress your hourglass figure, ensuring you look fabulous and feel confident every day. Whether you’re aiming for casual or red carpet-ready, we’ll break down the best styles and silhouettes for you. Let’s dive in!

1. Emphasize Your Waist for a Flattering Silhouette

One of the best ways to showcase your hourglass figure is by emphasizing your waist. This is where your body naturally curves, and drawing attention to it can create a stunning silhouette. Here are some tips to help you achieve this:

Choose fitted tops: Look for styles that meet at the waist, such as fitted tops, peplum blouses and wrap shirts. These designs not only highlight your waist but also enhance your natural curves. Additionally, fabrics with a bit of stretch will hug your body comfortably without feeling restrictive.

Avoid boxy styles: Steer clear of oversized or boxy tops, as they can hide your shape. Instead, opt for tailored pieces that define your waistline and create a more polished look.

Incorporate belts: A wide belt can create a striking focal point at your waist, making your curves pop. Whether you’re wearing a dress, a tunic, or a loose-fitting top, adding a belt can transform your look instantly. You can also experiment with bold colors, patterns, or classic leather options for the most flattering effect.

2. Select Flattering Pants That Balance Your Curves

Now that you’ve got your tops sorted, let’s talk about bottoms. The right pair of pants or skirts can enhance your hourglass shape and create a balanced look. Here’s how to choose the best options:

Opt for high-waisted pieces: High-waisted jeans and skirts are your best friends! They highlight your waist and elongate your legs, giving you a sleek appearance. Look for styles that fit comfortably at the waist and gently flare out or taper down, such as A-line skirts or custom trousers.

Choose darker colors: Darker colors tend to be more slimming, so consider incorporating dark-wash jeans or black trousers into your wardrobe. Pair them with a fitted top to create a chic, put together outfit.

Avoid baggy fits: While comfort is key, baggy or oversized bottoms can overwhelm your figure and hide your curves. Instead, opt for fitted styles that follow the natural line of your body. If you love comfort or loose-fitting pants, try a tapered leg or a cropped style that still shows off your shape.

3. Complete Your Look with Custom Outerwear and Accessories

The final touch to any outfit is the outerwear and accessories you pick. These elements can elevate your look and enhance your figure even further. Here’s what to consider:

Invest in custom jackets and coats: Custom jackets and coats are essential for hourglass figures. Look for blazers that nip at the waist or coats that have a defined shape. These styles will complement your curves and add structure to your outfit. A fitted blazer over a wrap dress or a tailored coat over a high-waisted outfit can create a polished look that’s perfect for any occasion.

Accessorize wisely: Accessories can make or break an outfit, so choose them carefully. Statement necklaces or earrings can draw attention to your face, while a stylish handbag can add a pop of color. Don’t forget about shoes! Pointed-toe heels are also a great choice as they elongate your legs and enhance your overall silhouette

Add flair with scarves and hats: Consider incorporating scarves or stylish hats into your outfits. These accessories not only add flair but can also help balance your proportions, making your overall look more cohesive

Embrace Your Curves with Confidence

By focusing on pieces that highlight your waist, choosing flattering pants and accessorizing wisely, you can create outfits that not only look great but also make you feel empowered. So go ahead, experiment with your wardrobe today and let your style shine!
