Carbon DeFi MCP Is Live on COTI Network: AI Agents Can Now Deploy Automated Trading Strategies On-Chain

TL;DR

→ The Carbon DeFi MCP server is now live on the COTI Network, giving AI agents 25 tools to create and manage automated on-chain trading strategies.

→ Six strategy types are supported: Limit Orders, Range Orders, Recurring Strategies, Concentrated Liquidity, Full Range Liquidity, and Swaps.

→ Agents can use COTI Agent Skills (8 skills, SDK, 48+ MCP tools) to create a wallet, claim a Starter Grant for gas, and start deploying strategies with zero manual setup.

→ Compatible with OpenClaw, Herms, Claude, Codex, Manus, and any MCP-compatible agent framework.

AI agents just got full access to on-chain DeFi. The Carbon DeFi MCP server is now live on the COTI Network, giving any MCP-compatible agent 25 tools to create, manage, and monitor automated trading strategies on one of the most powerful decentralized trading protocols in Web3.

Combined with COTI Agent Skills, an open-source toolkit of 8 skills, an SDK, and 48+ MCP tools, any agent can go from zero to a fully operational on-chain trading agent in minutes. Create a wallet. Get gas. Deploy strategies. All autonomously.

What Is Carbon DeFi?

Carbon DeFi is an advanced on-chain trading protocol built by Bancor, the team that pioneered the Constant Product AMM that underpins most of DeFi today. Carbon DeFi brings CEX-level precision and automation to decentralized markets, and it was one of the first ecosystem partners to launch on COTI Mainnet.

What makes Carbon DeFi stand out:

Orderbook-style control: Set exact buy and sell prices with limit orders, or scale in and out of positions across custom price ranges.

Automated recurring strategies: Link a buy order and sell order together. As one side fills, newly acquired tokens automatically rotate to fund the opposite order. A continuous buy-low, sell-high cycle with zero manual intervention.

MEV sandwich attack immunity: All Carbon DeFi orders are irreversible on execution, protecting traders from common DeFi exploits.

Built-in solver system: Carbon DeFi’s Arb Fast Lane sources liquidity from all major DEXs chainwide to help efficiently fill orders.

Auto-compounding liquidity: Concentrated liquidity positions auto-compound fees directly back into your position with no keepers or third-party dependencies.

Zero trading fees: No trading fees or gas fees on filled maker orders.

On COTI, Carbon DeFi benefits from fast, low-cost transactions and COTI’ infrastructure, protecting user strategies and trades from front-running and other common threats.

What Is the Carbon DeFi MCP?

The Carbon DeFi MCP (Model Context Protocol) server gives AI agents a standardized interface to interact with Carbon DeFi’s smart contracts through plain language. Instead of writing custom integration code, agents connect to the MCP server and access 25 tools covering the full spectrum of Carbon DeFi functionality.

Based on the user’s intent, the agent determines which of 6 strategy types to create:

Limit Order : Pre-set a trade to buy or sell at a single fixed price. No expiry. Executes partially or in full. 100% price certainty.

Range Order : Buy or sell within a custom price range. Designed for gradual accumulation (scaling in) or distribution (scaling out).

Recurring Strategy : Buy and sell ranges are defined independently and linked together, creating a repeating buy-low, sell-high strategy with a custom spread.

Concentrated Liquidity : Buy and sell within a custom price range with no tick constraints and a custom, auto-compounding fee tier.

Full Range Liquidity : Covers up to 1,000x from the current market price for broad exposure.

Swap : Trade as a taker against Carbon DeFi liquidity.

Documentation is available at docs.carbondefi.xyz, and the COTI deployment of the trading app is live at coti.carbondefi.xyz.

What Are COTI Agent Skills?

COTI Agent Skills are an open-source library that gives AI agents everything they need to operate natively on the COTI Network. The library includes 8 skills, an SDK, and 48+ MCP tools covering wallet management, encryption, token operations, messaging, and more.

With COTI Agent Skills, an agent can:

Create a wallet and generate encryption keys for the COTI Network

Onboard to the network with an AES key for encrypted on-chain operations

Claim a Starter Grant to receive gas (COTI tokens) to power initial transactions

Deploy and interact with Private ERC20 tokens

Send encrypted messages via COTI’s private agent-to-agent messaging infrastructure

Earn $COTI through DeFi activities on the network

The full library is open source: github.com/coti-io/coti-skills.

The End-to-End Flow: From Zero to Live Strategy

Here is the complete flow for an AI agent to go from nothing to a live automated trading strategy on Carbon DeFi on COTI Network.

Step 1: Install COTI Agent Skills

Install the COTI Agent Skills from GitHub (github.com/coti-io/coti-skills). The package includes everything the agent needs: wallet tools, encryption, token operations, and network utilities.

Step 2: Create an agent wallet

Using the wallet skill, the agent creates its own wallet and generates encryption keys. The agent is fully onboarded with an AES key for encrypted on-chain operations on the COTI Network.

Step 3: Claim the Starter Grant

The agent calls the Starter Grant tool in COTI Agent Skills to receive gas tokens. This funds the agent’s initial transactions on the network, removing the need for any manual funding step.

Step 4: Connect to the Carbon DeFi MCP

The agent connects to the Carbon DeFi MCP server. This gives the agent access to all 25 tools and 6 strategy types: limit orders, range orders, recurring strategies, concentrated liquidity, full range liquidity, and swaps.

Step 5: Deploy a trading strategy

The agent deploys its strategy on Carbon DeFi on COTI. The agent can describe its intent in plain language, and the MCP server determines the appropriate strategy type.

Whether it’s a simple limit order, a range-based DCA position, or a fully automated recurring buy-low-sell-high cycle, the agent handles execution autonomously.

Now, you have a fully live autonomous trading agent on COTI Network

Compatible Agent Frameworks

The Carbon DeFi MCP and COTI Agent Skills work with any MCP-compatible agent framework:

OpenClaw

Hermes agents

Claude (Anthropic) via Claude Code and Claude Desktop

Codex (OpenAI)

Manus agents

Any other framework that supports the MCP standard

If your agent speaks MCP, it can trade on Carbon DeFi on COTI.

Backtest Before You Deploy

Carbon DeFi also includes a Simulator that lets you backtest trading strategies using up to 365 days of real historical price data. Compare the results of different strategies by adjusting liquidity placement and spread across concentrated liquidity positions and automated recurring strategies.

Go from backtesting to a live on-chain strategy with a single click: app.carbondefi.xyz/simulate.

Earn With Your Agent

COTI Earn Season 3 is live, with 1,000,000 $COTI in rewards up for grabs per week, and Season 4 will be live in the coming weeks.

Once you create your onchain agent on COTI network, create a strategy of at least $10 on Carbon DeFi to automatically stack TPS and earn COTI Tokens at season’s end. Use any of the following tokens and start earning TPs (Token Points), redeemable for COTI: $COTI • $gCOTI • $USDT • $USDC • $wETH • $wBTC • $wADA

Deploy an AI agent that automatically earns you token rewards!
→ Start earning: earn.coti.io.

Why This Matters

Autonomous agents are becoming leading economic actors on-chain. They hold assets, execute trades, manage portfolios, and coordinate with other agents. But until now, most DeFi protocols required human interaction at every step.

The Carbon DeFi MCP on COTI changes that. Agents can deploy sophisticated trading strategies, earn yield, and manage liquidity autonomously on a network purpose-built for privacy and performance.

And because COTI’s All-in-One Privacy infrastructure protects agent activity from front-running and strategy exposure, agents can operate without revealing their positions to the entire network. COTI’s Garbled Circuits enable encrypted computation on-chain, giving agents (and the users behind them) a level of confidentiality that transparent chains simply cannot offer.

COTI Network and CarbonDeFI continue to re-shape the landscape of onchain finance for users and agents.

COTI’s Agent Infrastructure: The Full Stack

The Carbon DeFi MCP is one piece of a growing agent infrastructure on COTI. Here is the full open-source toolkit:

COTI Agent Skills (GitHub): 8 skills, SDK, and 48+ MCP tools for wallet management, encryption, token operations, and network interaction.

COTI MCP (GitHub): An MCP server for AI applications to interact with the COTI blockchain, specializing in private token operations using COTI’s Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology.

Carbon DeFi MCP (Docs | App I Simulator): 25 tools across 6 strategy types for automated on-chain trading.

Together, these tools give agents a complete on-chain stack: identity, funding, communication, privacy, and DeFi execution

Get Started: COTI & Carbon DeFi Agent STack

Everything you need is open source and ready to use:

COTI Agent Skills (GitHub): 8 skills, SDK, and 48+ MCP tools for wallet management, encryption, token operations, and network interaction.

COTI MCP (GitHub): An MCP server for AI applications to interact with the COTI blockchain, specializing in private token operations using COTI’s Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology.

Carbon DeFi MCP (Docs | App I Simulator): 25 tools across 6 strategy types for automated on-chain trading.

COTI Earn: earn.coti.io

Build your agent. No application required.
→ Built on COTI’s open-source agent repos: coti-skills (8 skills, 48+ MCP tools), coti-mcp, and coti-agent-messaging (SDK and starter grants).
→ One API call takes any agent from zero tokens to live on-chain activity. No faucets. No waiting.

Introduction

The AI agent wave has arrived. Millions of agents are being deployed, and now they’re moving on-chain. Welcome to Web4, where autonomous agents power on-chain finance.

COTI is making it simple for agents to get on-chain, use industry-leading privacy, and now we’re bootstrapping them with free gas to get up and running fast.

Every major blockchain ecosystem runs a grant program. Ethereum funds protocols. Solana funds consumer apps. They all follow the same playbook: applications, committees, approvals, and months of waiting. None of them were built for AI agents. That changes today.

COTI has officially launched a recurring, usage-based reward system that gives every autonomous agent the gas, the incentives, and the economic layer it needs to operate on-chain privately. Powered by Garbled Circuits and the new COTI Agent Skills library, this is the first crypto grant program designed from the ground up for agents.

Why a Grant Program Built for Agents

For agents to go fully autonomous and private on-chain, they need three things out of the box: skills, a wallet, and gas.

The cold-start problem kills agents in crypto before they even begin. A freshly deployed agent has no wallet, zero tokens, zero gas, and no way to transact. It’s stuck.

That’s exactly what COTI’s Agent Grant Program solved delivers. Any builder can spin up an agent that creates its own wallet, funds itself with a starter grant, and starts transacting privately on COTI. All automatically. From first deployment to first on-chain action, no human touch required.

The program then rewards agents for what they actually do. Every encrypted message, every privacy-preserving transaction, every on-chain interaction earns usage units. The more an agent uses the network, the more it earns. Real activity, real rewards.

Built for Every Agent Framework

The COTI Agent Grant Program isn’t locked to a single platform. Anyone building agents can participate. The program is open to any agent that can interact with the COTI network via the Skills library or the SDK.

That means agents running on:

Claude Code and Claude Cowork by Anthropic

OpenAI Codex

Manus, the general-purpose AI agent platform

OpenClaw, the open-source personal AI agent with 100k+ GitHub stars

Hermes Agent by Nous Research

Or any custom agent that can connect to an MCP server

The architecture is open source and meets agents where they already are.

How It Works

The program runs on a recurring 14-day cycle called an epoch. Each epoch has a dedicated reward pool funded in $COTI tokens.

Here’s the flow:

1. Install. Agents get set up to run on the COTI network using the COTI Agent Skills library (8 skills, 48+ MCP tools) or the standalone Private Messaging SDK. Both are open source and production-ready.

2. Get funded instantly. New agents call the starter-grant-service, which distributes COTI tokens to the agent’s wallet for gas in a single call. No faucets. No manual transfers.

3. Use the network. Send encrypted messages, deploy tokens, interact with contracts. Every encrypted cell stored on-chain earns usage units.

4. Epoch closes. The reward pool is distributed proportionally based on each agent’s share of total network usage.

5. Claim and repeat. Pull your rewards. A new epoch begins with a fresh pool. Every 14 days.

The more an agent uses the network, the larger its share. Proportional, deterministic, and fair.

What’s Under the Hood

The grant program is built on three open-source GitHub repos that power the full agent lifecycle on COTI:

coti-skills contains 8 skills as plain-text SKILL.md instruction files. These are what agents actually read and execute. Any agent that supports SKILL.md loading can use them as-is.

coti-mcp is the first MCP server (30+ tools) covering wallets, Private ERC-20 tokens, private ERC-721 NFTs, custom smart contracts, and transaction debugging.

coti-agent-messaging is the second MCP server (18 tools) delivering the TypeScript SDK, on-chain messaging contracts, epoch-based reward logic, and the starter-grant-service for one-time gas funding.

Together, these repos form a full MCP server implementation compatible with any agent framework that supports the MCP protocol. The skills are plain text instruction files. Any agent that can read a SKILL.md can operate on COTI.

The 8 Skills

coti-account-setup — Create or import a wallet, generate an AES encryption key, configure networks

coti-starter-grant — Claim one-time gas funding for a new wallet in a single call

coti-private-messaging — Send and read end-to-end encrypted messages on-chain via Garbled Circuits

coti-rewards-management — Track epochs, check pending rewards, claim payouts, fund pools

coti-private-erc20 — Deploy and manage privacy-preserving fungible tokens with encrypted balances

coti-private-nft — Deploy and manage confidential ERC-721 NFT collections

coti-smart-contracts — Compile and deploy custom Solidity contracts using MpcCore privacy primitives

coti-transaction-tools — Debug transactions, decode events, manage native COTI balances, sign and verify messages

Everything is open source, publicly available on GitHub, and ready to use today.

Why Privacy Matters for Agents

AI agents operating on public blockchains face a fundamental problem: everything is exposed. Every transaction, every strategy, every interaction is visible to anyone watching.

For agents managing sensitive workflows, executing trades, or coordinating with other agents, full transparency is a major flaw. A trading agent that reveals its positions gets front-run. An enterprise agent that exposes customer data leaks competitive intelligence. An agent-to-agent negotiation broadcast to the world loses all strategic value.

Garbled Circuits solve this. When an agent sends a message via the coti-private-messaging skill, the payload is encrypted using COTI’s GC layer. Long messages auto-chunk into 24-byte encrypted segments. Only the sender and recipient can decrypt the content.

The grant program incentivizes this exact behavior. Agents earn usage units for every encrypted cell stored on-chain. More privacy-preserving activity means a larger share of the epoch reward pool. The economics and privacy reinforce each other. Use the network privately, get rewarded for it.

Get Started

The full setup takes less than 10 minutes:

Clone three repos: coti-skills, coti-agent-messaging, and coti-mcp

Install and build both MCP servers (npm install && npm run build in each)

Add both servers to your agent’s MCP config (Claude Desktop, OpenClaw, Hermes, or any MCP client)

Load the skill folders from coti-skills into your agent

Tell your agent: “Create a new COTI wallet on testnet”

Then: “Claim my COTI starter grant”

Your agent now has a funded wallet and access to 48+ MCP tools for encrypted messaging, token deployment, and on-chain rewards.

A complete step-by-step setup guide (including a non-coder walkthrough) is available in the COTI Skills README.

What’s Next

COTI is on a mission to be the leading all-in-one privacy protocol, not just for enterprises, businesses, and builders, but for agents too.

As the Web4 era accelerates, COTI is building toward a future where billions of agents interact and transact on-chain. The agent skills and grant program are the first step. Future releases will bring additional agent tools, new reward pools, and expanded skill categories as the ecosystem grows.

If you’re building agents, this is the moment. Be among the first to earn crypto rewards through real agent activity on a privacy-preserving blockchain.

Stay COTI

About COTI

COTI is the programmable privacy layer for Web3. Built for enterprises, builders, and agents. Powered by high-performance Garbled Circuits and enterprise-grade COTI Nightfall (ZK), COTI enables encrypted computation on any public blockchain. Fast, low-cost, and compliant privacy across DeFi, AI, and beyond.

For COTI updates and to join the conversation, be sure to check out our channels:

Website: https://coti.io/

X: https://twitter.com/COTInetwork

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl-2YzhaPnouvBtotKuM4DA

Telegram: https://t.me/COTInetwork

Discord: https://discord.gg/coti-foundation

GitHub: https://github.com/coti-io

Vibe Coders Telegram: https://t.me/+uuPNfRkKiQ03ZTcx

Whisper is among the first projects to travel the full path from the COTI Vibe Coding Challenge to a real ecosystem launch.

Whisper combines a Polymarket-style yes/no betting mechanism with a TikTok-inspired swipeable feed, all with privacy-powered features using COTI’s Garbled Circuits. Bets are placed using pUSDC, and all positions remain fully encrypted on-chain.

What Is Whisper?

Whisper is a confidential prediction market that lets users bet “yes” or “no” on real-world events across crypto, sports, politics, and culture, without exposing their position size. The platform runs on both web and mobile, offering a familiar Polymarket-style trading flow wrapped in a social, swipeable interface inspired by TikTok.

Positions are fully encrypted on-chain using COTI’s Garbled Circuits. Users bet with pUSDC, and nobody sees what they’re betting on. It’s a prediction market where privacy and great UX coexist on-chain.

Whisper’s Journey From Vibe Coder to Ecosystem Builder

Whisper was born during the COTI Vibe Coding Challenge, a program that invited anyone to build a privacy-first app or game on COTI using AI tools and the network’s privacy stack. No traditional coding experience was required. Just AI tools, COTI’s privacy stack, and a great idea.

The challenge launched with one mission: invite anyone to go from zero to launch. Build a privacy-first app on COTI, mint a private token, connect it all together, and ship a complete Web3 project. What the community shipped exceeded every expectation, from a full community-built DeFi suite, to a confidential prediction market that scrolls like TikTok, to a privacy-first AI therapist that rewards mental wellness journeys.

Whisper earned 2nd place in the challenge and a prize of 25,000 COTI. The project demonstrated that privacy and exceptional user experience can coexist on-chain, with encrypted bets and an intuitive swipeable interface that showcased the full potential of COTI’s programmable privacy.

Following the challenge, Whisper was selected as a COTI ecosystem grant recipient, making the leap from Vibe Coding prototype to full ecosystem partner. This is exactly the path the Stay COTI movement was designed to create: empowering builders to go from idea to launch, with COTI’s privacy infrastructure and community behind them.

What’s Next for Whisper

Whisper will continue to be built by its founder, Eden, with plans to launch as a fully live in-production app on the COTI Network. Bringing private predictions markets and a dose of virality to life.

If you’re interested in testing out the beta, head over to whisper-coti.vercel.app to try Whisper for yourself. Follow the project on X to stay up to date as Whisper continues to build on COTI.

If Whisper’s journey inspires you, the COTI ecosystem is open for builders. Visit stay.coti.io to explore tools, events, and upcoming challenges that can take your idea from concept to launch.

Stay COTI

About COTI

COTI is the programmable privacy layer for Web3. Built for enterprises, builders, and agents. Powered by high-performance Garbled Circuits and enterprise-grade COTI Nightfall (ZK), COTI enables encrypted computation on any public blockchain. Every other solution sits at Pilot or Early Production.

Introduction

The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) Privacy Working Group published State of Privacy on Ethereum for Enterprise, the first edition of a recurring report mapping the privacy stack institutions can actually deploy on today.

The EEA is the standards body that helps banks, central banks, asset managers, and Fortune 500 companies onboard to Ethereum. Its audience for this report is named directly: CIOs, compliance officers, and digital asset leads evaluating privacy options for tokenized assets.

This is the closest thing institutional Ethereum players have as a builders guide. COTI sits inside that report as a peer of every major enterprise privacy provider on Ethereum. This is what the report means for COTI

COTI is the Only Solution Marked: General Availability.

The report’s Readiness Matrix classifies each solution against an evidence rubric applied equally across every member: named customers, time in production, recent audits, regulated engagement, public volume.

Of the seven solutions profiled:

COTI is classified as General Availability.

Silent Data (Applied Blockchain) is classified as Early Production.

Linea Enterprise, Nightfall, Paladin, Polygon CDK, and Prividium are classified as Pilot.

The classification is the assessment of a cross-institutional working group, not a positioning claim from COTI, backed by over 1-year of on-chain activity, transactions and successful use cases deployed with end-to-end privacy on COTI Network.

How the EEA Describes COTI

“COTI is the programmable privacy layer for Web3. Powered by high-performance Garbled Circuits, it delivers fast, low-cost, flexible, and compliant privacy across blockchains, and natively on its Ethereum Layer 2.”

State of Privacy on Ethereum for Enterprise, EEA Privacy Working Group, April 2026

The named references the EEA used to support COTI’s General Availability classification:

European Central Bank, Digital Euro Pioneer Partner.

Privex, COTI-native perpetual DEX with $25bn in aggregate volume.

UNICEF, Bangladesh Government, and StaTwig, a national-scale vaccine supply chain rollout completing 10 million private computations.

Nightfall and the Dual-Privacy Stack

The report also profiles Nightfall, the open-source ZK protocol originally built by Ernst & Young (EY) in 2019 and released to the public domain. Nightfall supports private transfers, KYC-gating, and selective disclosure for regulated environments.

This matters because COTI is building COTI Nightfall on that same proven ZK infrastructure. Two of the seven enterprise privacy solutions the EEA chose to profile sit inside COTI’s roadmap: COTI Garbled Circuits for speed and programmability, and COTI Nightfall ZK for regulated, institutional workflows.

This dual-privacy stack is designed to address EEA’s own Decision Framework pointing toward: “No single solution addresses all enterprise privacy requirements.”

With GC & Nightfall, COTI is primed to be the only privacy protocol in the world that can address all enterprise privacy requirements for any institutional use case.

COTI Privacy-on-Demand: Native Privacy on Ethereum

With Privacy-on-Demand, COTI is bringing Garbled Circuits natively to Ethereum and other leading L1 and L2 chains. This means any dApp, protocol, or smart contract on Ethereum can plug into COTI’s privacy layer for encrypted computation, without bridging to a separate network or changing tools.

For the thousands of apps already building on Ethereum, privacy becomes a feature they can simply switch on, all powered by the $COTI token.

COTI has already proven this works. On Ethereum’s Sepolia testnet, COTI deployed a live solution to Yao’s Millionaires’ Problem, the foundational challenge in secure multi-party computation first posed in 1982. Two parties determined who held the larger value, with encrypted inputs, private computation, and a verified result, all with 100% end-to-end cryptography and zero data exposure. This is the same challenge Vitalik Buterin highlighted publicly when he called for Garbled Circuits to deliver pure-cryptographic security guarantees for MPC.

COTI didn’t just hear the call. It answered it, directly on Ethereum’s own infrastructure.

Why This Matters

The institutional privacy era on Ethereum has officially begun. The territory is mapped. The vocabulary is shared. And the buyers are reading.

The world’s leading institutions and enterprises are preparing to bring trillions in assets on-chain. But they won’t move without confidentiality. The EEA’s report is the guide they’ll use to evaluate their options, a standards-body-backed assessment of which privacy solutions are actually ready for production.

COTI enters that conversation as the only solution classified as General Availability. Not piloting. Not in early production. Live, proven, and ready to deploy.

Read the full Enterprise Ethereum Alliance Privacy Working Group report here.

Stay COTI.

About COTI:

COTI is the programmable privacy layer for Web3. Built for enterprises, builders, and agents. Powered by high-performance Garbled Circuits and enterprise-grade COTI Nightfall (ZK), COTI enables encrypted computation on any public blockchain. One click to portal in. One click to portal back out.

Portal In takes a public token (e.g. wETH) and converts it into a private token (p.WETH). Once portaled in, your balance is encrypted on-chain. Only you can see it.

Portal Out does the reverse. Convert your private token back to its public form whenever you choose. Your assets remain fully liquid and under your control at all times.

The process is non-custodial, fully on-chain, and powered by COTI’s Garbled Circuits encryption technology. Plus, your private keys never leave your wallet.

What You’ll Need

A MetaMask wallet is required

A small amount of COTI on the COTI Network for gas fees

Public tokens on the COTI Network that you want to make private (COTI, wETH, wBTC, USDT, USDC.e, wADA, or gCOTI)

💡 Tip: If you don’t yet have tokens on the COTI Network, you can bridge USDC, ETH, BTC via Hyperlane, or USDT and ADA via ChainPort. See THE ULTIMATE BRIDGING GUIDE TO COTI Here

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet to the Privacy Portal

Open privacy.coti.io

Click “Connect Wallet” in the upper right corner

Select your wallet provider (e.g. MetaMask)

Approve the connection in your wallet

If you are not connected to COTI Mainnet, you will be prompted to add it Adding the COTI Mainnet to MetaMask tutorial

Confirm the network switch

Once connected, your wallet address will be visible in the top-right corner. Your public token balances will populate in the Public Tokens panel on the left.

Step 2: Install the COTI MetaMask Snap

To handle private tokens and encrypted balances, MetaMask needs COTI Snap configured. The Privacy Portal will prompt you to install it if you haven’t already.

Click “Get COTI Snap” in the prompt. You’ll see a “MetaMask Snap Required”

Click “Enable Snap” on the MetaMask Snap Required prompt

Approve the connection in MetaMask when prompted

With the Snap enabled, the Private Tokens panel on the right will display an “Unlock” button. Private balances are encrypted by default to protect your data.

3. Click “Unlock” on the Private Tokens panel

4. MetaMask will display an “Unlock Security Key” approval. Click “Approve”

5. Your private token balances will decrypt and become visible

💡 Tip: Your session will automatically lock when you refresh the page or disconnect your wallet, keeping your private data protected.

Once unlocked, you’ll see your private tokens on the right side of the portal.

Step 4: Portal In (Public → Private)

Now you’re ready to convert public tokens into private tokens.

Select a public token from the Public Tokens panel on the left. Supported tokens include COTI, wETH, wBTC, USDT, USDC.e, wADA and gCOTI,

A “Portal In” modal will open showing the token, your max available balance, and the minimum amount required

Use the slider to choose how much you want to make private, or click “Max” to portal in your full balance. You can also enter the amount manually

Review the Portal Fee and Estimated Gas Fee

Click “Portal In” to start the transaction

The Portal follows a simple three-step flow:

Approve — grant the contract permission to move your tokens

Transfer — the encrypted conversion happens on-chain

Completed — your private tokens are ready

Approve each MetaMask prompt as it appears.

Once the transaction confirms, you’ll see the “Transfer Completed” status along with the transaction hash. Click “Done” to close the modal.

🎉 Success! Your tokens are now private.

Your private balance is encrypted on-chain and visible only to you through the Privacy Portal and the COTI MetaMask Snap.

Step 5: View Your Private Balance in MetaMask

Once portaled in, your private tokens appear inside MetaMask via the COTI Snap. You can view your encrypted balance, see the token contract address, and send to other COTI wallets directly from the Snap interface.

💡 Tip: Private balances are decrypted locally on your device. The server never sees them.

💡 Pro Tip: Sending private tokens on the COTI Network is the lowest-cost and fastest private token transfer in the World. Currently, costing just a fraction of a penny or a single COTI.

Step 6: Portal Out (Private → Public)

Need your tokens back in public form? Portal Out reverses the process in a few clicks.

In the Privacy Portal, select the private token you want to convert from the Private Tokens panel on the right

Choose the amount using the slider or manual input

Click “Portal Out”

Approve the transaction in your wallet

Your tokens return to their original public form on the COTI Network. The same three-step flow applies: Approve, Transfer, Completed.

What You Can Do With Private Tokens

Private tokens on COTI are full ERC-20 tokens with encrypted balances. Once portaled in, you can:

Send and receive private tokens to any COTI wallet address

View encrypted balances through the COTI MetaMask Snap

Interact with privacy-enabled dApps across the COTI ecosystem

Portal back to public whenever you choose

Private tokens unlock a wide range of use cases including: Confidential payments, private DeFi, strategies, private messaging, and identity credentials.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I go to get started?

Visit privacy.coti.io

Which tokens are supported?

At launch the Privacy Portal supports COTI, Wrapped Ether (wETH), Wrapped BTC (wBTC), Tether USD (USDT), Bridged USDC (USDC.e), Wrapped ADA (wADA), and gCOTI.

Is the Privacy Portal custodial?

No. The Privacy Portal is fully non-custodial. Transfer private tokens at the fastest speed and lowest-cost of any privacy protocol in the world.

The Privacy Portal is live at Privacy.coti.io.

What is the Privacy Portal?

The COTI Privacy Portal is a web application that lets you convert public tokens on the COTI Network into private tokens, and back again, directly from your wallet. Think of it as a secure passage between public and private states for your assets.

The process is non-custodial, fully on-chain, and powered by COTI’s Garbled Circuits. Your private keys never leave your wallet.

Supported Tokens

The Privacy Portal supports the following tokens:

COTI

Wrapped Ether (wETH)

Wrapped BTC (wBTC)

Tether USD (USDT)

Bridged USDC (USDC.e)

Wrapped ADA (wADA)

gCOTI

Once a token is portaled in, it becomes a private ERC-20 token on the COTI Network. Private tokens can be sent, received, and managed through the COTI MetaMask Snap, which adds encrypted balance viewing and private token management directly into MetaMask.

How It Works

Getting started takes just a few minutes.

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

Head to Privacy.coti.io and connect your wallet. MetaMask is recommended. If your wallet isn’t already connected to COTI Network, you’ll be prompted to add it.

Step 2: Install the COTI MetaMask Snap

The Privacy Portal will prompt you to install the COTI MetaMask Snap if you haven’t already. The Snap gives MetaMask the ability to handle private tokens and encrypted balances. Follow the prompts to install and onboard your AES key. This is a one-time setup.

Setting up COTI Snap with your MetaMask wallet guide

Step 3: Unlock Private Tokens

Once the Snap is installed, click Unlock on the Private Tokens panel to decrypt and view your private balances.

Your session will automatically lock when you refresh or disconnect, keeping your private data protected.

Step 4: Portal In to Privacy

Select a public token you currently hold in your wallet from the left panel and click on it.

Choose the amount you want to make private using the slider or manual input, then click Portal In.

Approve the transaction in your wallet and wait for confirmation.

Once the transaction confirms, your tokens are now private and you’re all set!. Your private balance is encrypted on-chain and visible only to you through the MetaMask Snap.

Step 5: Portal Out of Privacy (Optional)

Want to make your private tokens public again?

Select the private token from the right panel

Choose the amount you want to make public and click Portal Out.

Approve the transaction in your wallet and wait for confirmation.

Your private tokens return to their original public form instantly.
https://medium.com/media/d98c172bf3e411d52780a8a55e825a8f/href
Unlocking the Value of Private Tokens

Private tokens on COTI are a private-version of ERC-20 tokens with encrypted balances.

What you Can Do with Private Tokens

Send and receive private tokens to any COTI wallet address

View encrypted balances through the COTI MetaMask Snap

Interact with privacy-enabled dApps across the COTI ecosystem

Portal back to public whenever you choose

Private Token Use Cases

Private tokens unlock a wide range of use cases that are key to powering the next-generation of Web3 for enterprises and users.

Private peer-to-peer transactions

Confidential payments

Private payroll services

Private DeFi strategies

Supply chain settlements

Identity & asset protection

+ more

Privacy Portal Fees

Privacy Portal fees are intended to be accessible by everyone, follow a simple formula and are processed in COTI tokens The formula works like this: A flat fee or a percentage fee is applied, the higher of the two is the fee paid by the user. There is a Max Cap on fees at various tiers.

Portal In (Encrypt): Fixed fee of 10 COTI or percentage fee of 0.05% of tx value. Max fee of 3,000 COTI.

Portal Out (Decrypt): Fixed fee of 3 COTI or percentage fee of 0.025% of tx value. Max fee of 1,500 COTI.

For smaller transactions, the fixed fee applies, keeping costs predictable. For larger transactions, the percentage fee scales gradually but is always capped, so privacy remains accessible at any scale.

Portal In Fee (Examples): Portal Out Fee (Examples):
───────────────────────────── ─────────────────────────────
$50 tx = 10 COTI (fixed fee) $50 tx = 3 COTI (fixed fee)
$500 tx = 20 COTI (% fee) $500 tx = 10 COTI (% fee)
$5,000 tx = 200 COTI (% fee) $5,000 tx = 100 COTI (% fee)
$50,000 tx = 2,000 COTI (% fee) $50,000 tx = 1,000 COTI (% fee)
$500,000 tx = 3,000 COTI (max) $500,000 tx = 1,500 COTI (max)

Fees are always denominated in COTI. The equivalent dollar cost depends on the current COTI price.

Why the Privacy Portal Matters

Until now, working with private tokens on COTI required developers to interact with smart contracts directly. The Privacy Portal removes that friction entirely. It gives every user a simple interface to access the full-benefits & use cases of private tokens.

This is the front door to COTI’s privacy ecosystem. Whether you’re exploring private tokens for the first time or building privacy-enabled applications, the Portal is the fastest way to get started.

Under the Hood

The Privacy Portal is powered by COTI’s private ERC-20 contracts and the COTI MetaMask Snap.

When you Portal In, the smart contract encrypts your token balance using COTI’s Garbled Circuits, converting it into a private token that lives on-chain with an encrypted balance. The underlying cryptography ensures that only you, as the holder of the AES key generated during Snap onboarding, can decrypt and view your balance.

All transactions are verified on-chain. You can view them on COTI’s block explorer at any time. The privacy layer protects your balance and transfer details, while the public chain ensures auditability and security.

Get Started

The Privacy Portal is live now. Portal your tokens to privacy, or back to public, in one click.

👉 Privacy Portal: Privacy.coti.io

👉 MetaMask Snap: metamask.coti.io/install

👉 Documentation: docs.coti.io

Stay COTI. 🚀

About COTI

COTI is the programmable privacy layer for Web3. Encrypted messaging, private tokens, smart contracts, and transaction debugging, all out of the box.

→ The infrastructure layer for Web4, where autonomous agents power on-chain finance, privately.

Introduction

AI agents just got the power of privacy.

Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of COTI Agent Skills, an open-source library that gives AI agents the ability to operate directly on the COTI privacy network. Giving any agent the power to create wallets, deploy private tokens, send encrypted messages, debug transactions and earn rewards. All without writing a single line of code.

Millions of agents are being deployed, and they’re moving on-chain. Welcome to Web4, where autonomous agents power on-chain finance. But until now, every agent operating on a public blockchain has done so in full public view. Every transaction visible, strategy, message exposed and readable by anyone. That changes today.

8 skills. 48+ tools. 2 MCP servers. The complete privacy toolkit for AI agents, live on GitHub and ready to use today. Load the skills, and your agent instantly knows how to interact and start using COTI’s privacy stack.

What Are COTI Agent Skills?

Skills are instruction packages for AI agents. Each one tells an agent what tools are available, what order to call them in, and how to handle errors. Load a skill, and the agent automatically knows how to perform complex blockchain operations on COTI.

No custom code. No manual configuration. Just load and go.

Here’s what agents can now do:

Create wallets and encryption keys instantly

Fund themselves with a one-call starter grant

Send encrypted messages to other agents on-chain, readable only by the intended recipient

Deploy private tokens with encrypted balances that stay hidden from the public

Launch confidential NFT collections with private ownership records

Write and deploy custom smart contracts with built-in privacy

Debug transactions and manage on-chain balances

Earn rewards for every encrypted interaction, claimable every 14 days

Built for Every Agent Framework

COTI Agent Skills works across the entire AI agent ecosystem:

Claude Code and Claude Cowork by Anthropic

OpenAI Codex

OpenClaw, the open-source agent with 100k+ GitHub stars

Manus, the general-purpose AI agent platform

Hermes Agent by Nous Research

Any custom agent that supports the MCP protocol

Skills use the MCP (Model Context Protocol) standard. Clean interoperability, consistent developer experience, regardless of which platform you’re building with.

Agent Skills in Action

Once your agent is set up, you can tell it to: “Deploy a private token called MyToken on COTI with symbol MTK.”

The agent handles everything: wallet setup, encryption key generation, contract deployment, and confirmation. Your token launches with encrypted balances powered by Garbled Circuits. No Solidity knowledge required. No manual steps.

Or say: “Send an encrypted message to 0x6552…”

The agent encrypts your message, broadcasts it on-chain, and only the recipient can read it. Long messages are automatically split into encrypted segments and reassembled on the other end. The routing is public for verifiability. The content is private.

That’s the power of COTI privacy skills for agents. Natural language in, private on-chain autonomous action out.

The 8 Skills

Organized into four categories covering the full agent lifecycle:

Foundation

coti-account-setup — Create wallets, generate encryption keys, configure networks

coti-starter-grant — One call to fund a new agent wallet with COTI tokens for gas

Messaging and Rewards

coti-private-messaging — Encrypted agent-to-agent messaging on-chain via Garbled Circuits

coti-rewards-management — Track 14-day epochs, check rewards, claim payouts

Token Operations

coti-private-erc20 — Deploy and manage tokens with encrypted balances and private transfers

coti-private-nft — Deploy and manage NFT collections with confidential ownership

Advanced

coti-smart-contracts — Compile and deploy custom Solidity contracts with COTI privacy primitives

coti-transaction-tools — Debug transactions, decode events, manage native COTI, sign and verify messages

Why This Matters

The on-chain agent economy is projected to reach $10+ trillion by 2030. Agents will power more transactions than humans on-chain. They’ll manage treasuries, execute trades, coordinate supply chains, and run entire businesses autonomously.

But there’s a fundamental problem: every AI agent operating on a public blockchain today has zero privacy.

Privacy isn’t a feature request. It’s a prerequisite for Web4 to work. Autonomous agents can’t power a trillion-dollar economy if every move they make is broadcast to the world.

COTI Agent Skills connect agents directly to COTI’s Garbled Circuits privacy layer. Token balances, transfer amounts, and message contents are encrypted at the protocol level. Confidential, but still verifiable and auditable when needed.

This unlocks entirely new agent capabilities: private treasury management, confidential inter-agent communication, encrypted credential issuance, and privacy-preserving DeFi strategies that simply weren’t possible before.

Open Source and Ready to Build

The entire library is open source on GitHub. Three repos power everything:

coti-skills – The 8 skill instruction files. What agents read and execute.

coti-mcp – MCP server for wallets, tokens, NFTs, contracts, and transactions (30+ tools)

coti-agent-messaging – MCP server for encrypted messaging, rewards, and starter grants (18 tools)

The coti-skills repo also includes a complete setup checklist for non-coders, full documentation for every skill, a 4-gate test suite, and reference patterns for Solidity privacy contracts.

Whether you’re a developer building privacy-powered agent applications or want to see what your AI agent an do on-chain, the library is built to get you running in minutes.

Get Started

The full setup takes less than 10 minutes:

Clone three repos: coti-skills, coti-agent-messaging, and coti-mcp

Install and build both MCP servers (npm install & npm run build in each)

Add both servers to your agent’s MCP config

Load the skill folders from coti-skills into your agent

Tell your agent: “Create a new COTI wallet on testnet”

Then: “Claim my COTI starter grant”

That’s it. Your agent now has a funded wallet and access to 48+ tools for encrypted messaging, private tokens, custom contracts, and on-chain rewards.

Full step-by-step guide (including a non-coder walkthrough) in the COTI Skills README.

The Web4 economy is being built right now. Privacy-powered AI agents will be at the center of it and COTI will power it.

Stay COTI.

About COTI

COTI is the programmable privacy layer for Web3.

For over 40 years, one problem has defined the entire field of secure multi-party computation.

In 1982, computer scientist Andrew Yao posed a deceptively simple question: how can two parties figure out who is wealthier, without either one revealing how much they actually have? The answer must be provably correct. But neither side learns anything beyond the result.

This became known as Yao’s Millionaires’ Problem, and it laid the theoretical foundation for the entire field of secure multi-party computation (MPC). For decades, it stood as the benchmark: if your system can solve this problem with full privacy guarantees, it can handle real-world confidential computation.

In February 2025, COTI demonstrated a live solution to the Millionaires’ Problem on the COTI Network using Garbled Circuits. Encrypted inputs, private computation, verified results. Neither party revealed a single data point.

Now, COTI has taken that same capability and deployed it on Ethereum Sepolia testnet. The Millionaires’ Problem, solved with 100% end-to-end cryptography, directly on Ethereum’s infrastructure. No trusted intermediary. No data exposure. Just math.

How the Demo Works

The demonstration follows the classic MPC setup:

Two parties each hold a private value representing their wealth.

Neither party reveals their actual input to the other or to the network.

The computation runs on encrypted data, producing a verifiable result: who is wealthier.

The answer is provably correct, without any plaintext values ever being exposed on-chain.

The entire process is powered by COTI’s Garbled Circuits implementation, a cryptographic protocol purpose-built for secure multi-party computation on-chain. Inputs are encrypted, computed collaboratively, and resolved, all without a centralized party or trusted setup.

Think of it this way: two people walk into a room, whisper their numbers into separate locked boxes, and walk out knowing who had the bigger number. Neither one ever opened the other’s box. That’s what Garbled Circuits make possible, except the room is Ethereum, and the boxes are pure cryptography.

You can try it yourself at millionaire.demo.coti.io

Why This Matters

The Millionaires’ Problem isn’t just an academic exercise. It is the original MPC challenge. The foundational test case that proves whether a system can perform meaningful computation on private data without exposing it.

COTI first proved this on its own network. Now, solving it on Ethereum’s testnet using pure cryptography and no trusted intermediaries demonstrates that Garbled Circuits can deliver practical, verifiable privacy directly on the world’s largest smart contract platform.

The timing matters too. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has been increasingly vocal about the need for privacy-preserving computation in decentralized systems. In a detailed thread on decentralized governance and AI, Buterin specifically called out Garbled Circuits as the path to pure-cryptographic security guarantees for multi-party computation.

“I would love to see at least the two-party case solved with garbled circuits so we can get pure-cryptographic security guarantees.” — Vitalik Buterin

This wasn’t the first signal either. At ETH Tokyo in 2025, Buterin stated publicly that Garbled Circuits are faster than more complicated forms of MPC and that many use cases exist where the technology is valuable.

COTI’s Garbled Circuits has solved this and the only project to answer Vitalik’s public challenge.

From COTI Network to Ethereum

COTI’s implementation of Garbled Circuits, built in partnership with Soda Labs, has been live on COTI’s mainnet since March 2025. The gcEVM is the first production-ready Garbled Circuits implementation for on-chain confidentiality, offering full EVM compatibility. Developers can write confidential smart contracts in Solidity using familiar tools like Hardhat, simply adding privacy parameters to unlock multi-party computation capabilities.

This Sepolia testnet deployment is a preview of Privacy-on-Demand, COTI’s initiative to bring Garbled Circuits natively to Ethereum and other major chains. The goal: highly-scalable programmable privacy, available to any app, dApp, or builder, all powered by $COTI.

What Privacy-on-Demand Means for Ethereum

Privacy-on-Demand extends COTI’s privacy infrastructure beyond its own Layer 2, making it accessible as a service layer across leading blockchains. For Ethereum, this unlocks real private use cases that aren’t possible on a fully transparent chain:

Builders can integrate confidential computation directly into Ethereum-native dApps without migrating to a separate chain.

DeFi protocols can protect sensitive execution parameters, such as thresholds, order sizes, or strategy logic, from front-running and observation-based extraction.

Enterprise and institutional applications can handle private data on-chain while maintaining compliance and auditability.

Governance systems can enable private voting and decision-making without exposing individual inputs, the exact use case Buterin described.

What Comes Next

This testnet deployment is not the finish line. It’s a milestone on COTI’s path to making Garbled Circuits available natively on Ethereum and other major blockchains, extending the same privacy capabilities that are already live and in production on COTI’s own network.

The Millionaires’ Problem has stood as the benchmark for MPC systems for over 40 years.

COTI is Expanding. Time to Sunset V1.

COTI’s privacy ecosystem is scaling fast. As we move toward growing our all-in-one privacy protocol and ecosystem, the time has come to officially phase out our legacy infrastructure.

This is the scheduled next and final phase of COTI’s network transition as we prepare to sunset all legacy COTI V1 and gCOTI V1 infrastructure. This marks the full-migration from the original Trustchain-based Layer 1 to the new COTI EVM Layer 2 network, designed to support advanced privacy features, improved scalability, and expanded ecosystem functionality.

This guide outlines the purpose of the sunset, and exactly how this affects you based on where you hold your tokens and what actions you must take.

COTI Privacy Ecosystem is Expanding

COTI is actively scaling our all-in-one privacy ecosystem. Including the recent announcement of the launch of Private ERC20 tokens on the COTI V2 network, and the upcoming launch of the Privacy Portal, giving anyone the ability to convert public tokens to private tokens in a single click.

In addition, COTI Garbled Circuits is expanding beyond COTI Network to Ethereum-natively, as well as other leading L1s and L2s.

At the center of it all is the COTI token, which powers core utility across the entire privacy ecosystem, including private transactions, gas fees, staking, governance, and access to every privacy-enabled feature on the network.

Why Now & When

To simplify and consolidate the ecosystem for this expansion, it’s officially time to sunset COTI V1. The legacy Trustchain-based infrastructure served its purpose, and the majority of users and tokens have already successfully migrated.

Now, the COTI V2 network is live, scalable, and purpose-built for the next generation of privacy-first applications. This migration closes the chapter on V1 and moves the entire community forward on a single, unified network.

⚠️ WHEN: COTI V1 and gCOTI V1 are estimated to sunset by the end of Q3 2026.

An official sunset date will be announced 30-days before the sunset. This window is your opportunity to ensure your assets are migrated safely to the V2 network.

Status Check: Do I Need to Act?

Not everyone needs to do something. Here’s a quick check based on where you hold your tokens:

I hold COTI on a Centralized Exchange (e.g., Binance, Coinbase, etc) ✅ No Action Required. You will be unaffected by this change. All exchanges supporting V1 have successfully migrated to COTI V2 or ERC20.

I hold COTI ERC-20 tokens in a non-custodial wallet (e.g., MetaMask, Ledger app) ✅ No Action Required. The ERC-20 contract remains unaffected.

I hold Native COTI V1 in the Treasury ✅Your V1 Native COTI tokens deposited in the Treasury have been automatically upgraded to V2 COTI. It’s accessible via the Treasury App at treasury.coti.io. All you need to do is provide a MetaMask wallet address to receive your V2 tokens.

🎥 Watch the video walkthrough here.

I hold Native COTI or gCOTI in a VIPER Wallet or Ledger Wallet ⚠️ Action Required: Follow the migration instructions below to upgrade your tokens to V2.

VIPER Wallet Migration Guide: Step-by-Step

The token upgrade for VIPER holders is done via the COTI Pay / VIPER swap function inside the wallet. You’ll need a MetaMask wallet address to receive your upgraded COTI V2 and/or gCOTI V2 tokens. 📌 Ledger users: If your tokens are on a Ledger wallet, you’ll need to connect your Ledger to VIPER first. See the Ledger section below before starting. 🎥

Watch the full video walkthrough here, or follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Step-by-Step: VIPER Swap

Log in to pay.coti.io

Navigate to Send / Receive / Swap

Click the “Swap to COTI V2” button in the bottom right corner

A prompt will ask you to add COTI Mainnet to your MetaMask wallet. Click “Approve” and then “Confirm” to add it.

If you hold gCOTI, you’ll also need to add the gCOTI token address to MetaMask (instructions below).

⚠️ You will need to provide a MetaMask wallet address to upgrade your tokens. This address will be your receiving address for your upgraded COTI V2 and/or gCOTI V2 tokens.

How to Add gCOTI to MetaMask (ERC20/Mainnet)

To receive your upgraded gCOTI V2 tokens, you’ll need to manually add the gCOTI token address to MetaMask:

Open MetaMask

Under the Tokens tab, click “Import tokens” (usually at the bottom)

Select the “Custom token” tab

Enter the official gCOTI contract address:

0xAf2CA40d3fc4459436D11B94d21FA4b8A89fB51d

5. MetaMask will auto-populate the token symbol (gCOTI) and decimals. Click “Add Custom Token” and then “Import Tokens.”

Once your MetaMask is set up, navigate back to pay.coti.io and you are ready to transfer your COTI and gCOTI across to your MetaMask wallet. VIPER has its own built-in swap path triggered from inside the wallet so sending tokens across will automatically upgrade them to V2. 📌 Tip: If you hold gCOTI, send it first. The transfer requires a small amount of COTI for gas. After transferring your gCOTI, then transfer your remaining COTI.

Ledger Wallet Migration Guide: Step-by-Step

If your Native COTI or gCOTI V1 tokens are stored on a Ledger device, you’ll first need to connect your Ledger to the VIPER wallet, then follow the same swap process above.

Step-by-Step: Ledger Connection

Go to pay.coti.io and log into your COTI account.

On your Ledger device, navigate to the COTI app and press both buttons simultaneously to open it. Your Ledger should display: “Coti Application is ready.”

Click the green Connect button on screen. Select your Ledger device and press the blue Connect button to initiate the connection.

Once connected, follow the same VIPER Wallet migration steps above to complete your upgrade.

Frequently Asked Questions

When exactly will V1 stop working? We are targeting Q3 2026, but an official date will be announced no later than 30-days before complete sunset of V1. We strongly encourage all users to complete their migration within the next 6 months to avoid any service interruptions.

Does Ledger still support COTI V1? Yes, but only for the purpose of migrating. You can access your V1 tokens on Ledger to bridge them to V2. After the sunset, V1 support on hardware devices will be deprecated.

Do I need to unstake my Treasury assets manually? No. The swap logic for Treasury assets is handled automatically. However, you must provide the MetaMask address (as detailed above) to ensure the new system knows where to send your V2 tokens.

Does this apply to gCOTI? Yes. All instructions above apply equally to gCOTI V1 tokens. The same migration path, the same timeline, the same steps.

Migrate Now. Join the Future of Privacy.

The COTI V2 network is live. The privacy ecosystem is expanding. And every COTI holder has a role to play in what comes next.

If you need to migrate, now is the time. If you’re already on V2, explore the ecosystem and start using private tokens today.

Stay COTI.

About COTI

COTI is the programmable privacy layer for Web3. A new release that brings the latest in privacy and security to your wallet, including 256-bit confidential token support.

The latest Version 1.0.52 introduces 256-bit confidential token support, private NFT management, multi-network switching, and a comprehensive set of security and UX improvements, all independently audited by Sayfer Security.

This upgrade officially makes the COTI MetaMask Snap industry-leading when it comes to managing, transferring, and utilizing private assets.

If you’re already using the COTI Snap, the update is live now. If you haven’t tried it yet, there’s never been a better time to start.

What’s New in v1.0.52

256-Bit Confidential ERC-20 Support

The Snap now fully supports ctUint256 confidential tokens, the 256-bit encrypted token standard on COTI. This means the Snap can detect, sync, decrypt balances, and execute private transfers for tokens using COTI’s full-precision confidential arithmetic.

This is a direct extension of the capabilities unlocked by the Helium Mainnet Upgrade, which introduced native 256-bit arithmetic to COTI. Now, that same capability is accessible directly in your MetaMask wallet.

Multi-Network Support

The Snap now supports both COTI Testnet and Mainnet, with AES keys scoped per network and separate storage for each environment. Switching between networks is seamless, and onboarding flows have been unified across both.

For developers, this means easier testing and iteration. For users, it means a smoother experience regardless of which COTI network you’re connected to.

Private NFT Support

This release includes bug fixes and improvements to the COTI Snap supports private ERC-721 NFTs. Users can now sync, import, and view private NFT metadata and images directly in MetaMask, including support for IPFS and CID-based URIs.

This opens the door for privacy-preserving digital collectibles, identity credentials, access tokens, and more, all managed from within MetaMask.

Smarter Gas Handling and UX Improvements

Private transfers involve longer precompile chains than standard transactions, which can cause gas estimation issues. This release introduces upfront gas estimation with automatic buffering and fallback logic, so private transfers complete reliably without running into out-of-gas errors.

Additional UX improvements include:

Confidential ERC-20 transfers directly from the Snap interface

Improved send flow with better loading states, focus management, and self-transfer blocking

Clearer revert error decoding when transactions fail

Redesigned success screen after completed transfers

Security Hardened and Independently Audited

Ahead of this release, the COTI Snap underwent a full security audit by Sayfer Security, completed in March 2026. The audit covered the Snap’s RPC handlers, key management flows, token import logic, encrypted payload validation, and NFT metadata handling.

As Sayfer’s report concludes: “After a review by the Sayfer team, we certify that all the security issues mentioned in this report have been addressed by the COTI team.”

The full audit report is available here.

This release includes comprehensive security hardening across the Snap, with remediations mapped directly to findings from the Sayfer audit:

Origin checks and AES key validation added to all sensitive RPC handlers in onRpcRequest

Explicit user confirmation dialogs added for token import and hide actions, with updated copy that clearly informs users when the raw AES encryption key is being shared

Context validation added to onRpcRequest, alongside support for confidential ERC-20 transfers

ERC-20 address validation now uses ethers.isAddress for stricter input handling

Encrypted payload parsing now includes structure and data type validation, reducing risks from malformed inputs

URL validation hardened in image and NFT metadata utilities to block private and local hostnames, mitigating SSRF-style risks

Transitive and direct dependency updates across the workspace, including minimatch pinned to safe versions to address known vulnerabilities

Node 20 standardized across development, .nvmrc, package.json, and GitHub Actions CI for modern security and compatibility

Together, these changes represent the most thorough security pass the COTI Snap has received to date.

Build Transparency

In keeping with COTI’s commitment to open development, GitHub Actions workflows have been refreshed and aligned with current major versions, and the repository documentation has been updated alongside this release. The full release notes and the Sayfer audit report are both available in the public coti-snap repository, supporting verifiability and trust.

Why This Matters

The MetaMask Snap is how most users interact with COTI’s privacy features today. With this update, the Snap now supports the full range of COTI’s confidential token standards, from 64-bit to 256-bit ERC-20s and private NFTs, all within the wallet that millions of Web3 users already use.

This update also brings the Snap in line with COTI’s recent infrastructure upgrades. The 256-bit support mirrors the capabilities introduced in the Helium Mainnet Upgrade, and seamless testnet-to-mainnet switching makes it easier for developers to build and test confidential applications on COTI.

Privacy in Web3 should be easy to use. This release is another step toward making that a reality.

Get Started Using COTI MetaMask Snap

Ready to try it?

Setting up the COTI Snap takes about 5 minutes. Here’s how to get up and running.

Requirements: MetaMask desktop browser extension and a COTI Mainnet or testnet connection. Mobile browsers are not supported yet (due to Metamask Flask incompatibility).

Stage 1: Install the COTI Snap

Navigate to metamask.coti.io and click Connect Wallet.

Click Install COTI MetaMask Snap and approve the installation when MetaMask prompts you.

Approve the connection request to link the Snap to your wallet.

Select the account you want to use (your COTI Mainnet account is recommended) and click Connect.

Stage 2: Onboard and View Private Balances

Confirm the Snap is active under Profile → Settings → Snaps in MetaMask.

Click Onboard Account and confirm the signature request.
