With the creation of headphones in the early 20th century and the advent of the Walkman in 1979, music listening gradually became an individual experience. However, music was not originally intended for this purpose. The earliest melodies were meant to convey basic feelings and emotions. Musical expression could serve as a ritual, as encouragement for war, to elevate religious sentiments, or even as a form of incantation to influence phenomena that humans couldn’t explain.

Through the messages it carried, music was meant to be shared. Over time, its practice transitioned from tribal settings to the courts of the powerful, closed salons of the elite, and finally to concert halls.

So, why are we telling you all of this?

Because our era of extreme individualism and isolation is coming to an end, and the technology that was supposed to bring us closer together has, in reality, confined us to practices that go against human nature, which is inherently social.

And what better justification is there than music to create opportunities to meet, to share moments with friends and fellow enthusiasts, where minds align in a form of communion around common desires or attachments?

In June 2022, when CryptoDeejayz hosted its hybrid launch event on the rooftop of the Williamsburg Hotel in New York and simultaneously in Decentraland, some people scoffed. A select few enjoyed the event in person, but all those who couldn’t attend physically experienced it simultaneously in the metaverse. Equipped with specially created wearables to celebrate the occasion, they shared the joy of the evening, connected with each other, and with the on-site audience.

This is how we envision hybrid events: the subtle blend of real and virtual experiences to bring fans closer together and foster connections across borders.

Similarly, at the end of August, CryptoDeejayz made an appearance at a live event in the South of France. During the “Du Son Au Balcon” evening in Salon de Provence, CryptoDeejayz offered the 20,000 fans present the opportunity to receive a free NFT through a QR code repeatedly displayed on large screens. This commemorative NFT, featuring Vladimir Cauchemar (the headliner of the 2022 edition), was only available during the event and served both as a POAP and as educational material to introduce the audience to Web3 and NFTs.

This commitment to educating the public is part of the DNA and mission of CryptoDeejayz and Playaverse. In parallel, all holders of CryptoDeejayz Ordinals were automatically eligible to attend the event from backstage and had the opportunity to physically meet their favorite DJ.

Lastly, exclusive video recordings of Hugel and Tony Romera’s sets will be broadcast with their consent during an online event by the end of the year.

We already have more events in the works that we will either organize or join to offer new experiences with CryptoDeejayz.

These are just a few examples of the bridges between the real and virtual worlds that we will continue to build. Likewise, the CryptoDeejayz collection was designed with real-world utilities because, once again, we need to come together.

The future of the metaverse is not high-tech wizardry. It is a return to the primitive and psychedelic ways of early human life. The Playaverse HQ highlights this: it’s a twisting, gnarled, embedded fortress of positivity, primality, and beats jutting out of the landscape and blasting out tunes for the world to hear deep in the metaverse.

In addition introducing our HQ, we have prepared other surprises for you in New York City. The CDJZ Launch Party Event on the rooftop of the Williamsburg Hotel in Brooklyn will be on Monday, June 20th from 8pm to 1am and open to the public.
