So… What Is Alpaca Dash?

At its core, Alpaca Dash is an idle racing game. You pick an alpaca, draft a set of mid-race skills, pay an entry fee that feeds the prize pool, and then lean back while the sprint unfolds in real-time. It sounds simple until you realize every Almighty Alpaca NFT hides a double helix of numbers:

• Five surface stats: Speed, Acceleration, Handling, Endurance, Intelligence.
• Dozens of hidden genes: tiny modifiers that wake up under specific weather, track types, and obstacle layouts.

The public stats tell a newcomer who should be fast in theory; the genetics turn that theory into nail-biting uncertainty. A sprinter bred for desert heat may slip on fresh snow; a modest endurance runner might discover a secret turbo when the aurora shimmers overhead. Strategy lives in decoding those secrets, breeding lines that amplify them, and drafting skills that fire at the perfect moment.

We learned more from three months of public chaos than from a year of closed builds. The full release folds that feedback into four headline changes.

Re-engineered Physics

Early heats tipped their hand too soon. We rebuilt the speed curve, narrowed collision boxes, and wrote a new momentum algorithm that rewards perfect skill selection. Lead swaps, photo finishes, and last-second slingshots are now the norm.

Frostbite Fields

Our first winter arena swaps sun-baked dirt for black ice, drifting snow, and bitter crosswinds. Weather shifts every lap, ice patches drain Speed, and hidden cold-weather genes finally strut their stuff beneath the northern lights. Expect viewing parties: the aurora at the finish line is chef’s-kiss gorgeous.

After our testing phases, we realized that majority of our players were keen to understand how everything works. They didn’t just want to watch the race unfold and see the fastest alpaca win, but they wanted to know every single detail about racing, obstacles, weather, genes and all the math behind this cute and thrilling game. The 15-Point Skill Draft

Random skill offers are history. You now enter every lobby with fifteen glowing points and an open buffet of unlocked abilities. Every skill “costs” its tier in points — Tier 1 = 1 pt, Tier 5 = 5 pts — so you can field three high-tier nukes or weave a clever 2 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 4 blend. The lobby feels less like a slot machine, more like a lightning-round deck builder that you have to come up with right before every single race.

Weekly Tournaments, Livestreamed

We are super excited for this one. Tournaments are going to be the core feature for uniting racers and gathering everyone around the same time. Registration opens each Monday — no fee, but DFL prizes and bragging rights on the line. The racing starts on Saturday in an Olympic ladder. Our team will try to cast major races with slo-mo replays, sideline interviews, and giveaway prizes that flash on-screen faster than a Discord mod can copy-paste. Winners pocket exclusive skins, triumph banners, and a slice of the $DFL pot; everyone else gets front-row seats to the carnage.

We know that you all are interested in how our prize pool works and what you have to do to earn the share of it. You open play.almightyalpacas.com and connect a wallet — or skip it entirely to play a tutorial or just watch some races. The lobby carousel shows live and scheduled races: map, weather forecast, obstacle mix, entry fee, and total purse. You pick Frostbite Fields at dusk, slip in your best cold-gene alpaca, and stare at the skill-draft panel. Fifteen points hang in the balance. Do you triple down on Tier 5 sprints, or hedge with mid-tier agility buffs and a cheeky Tier 1 joker skill? You decide, tap Ready, and the countdown begins.

Thirty seconds later the camera pans across six smug alpacas in knit beanies. The bell rings, snow blasts sideways, and your chat feed erupts as a Tier 4 Icebreaker shatters a frozen hurdle in lane three. Two turns later your Tier 5 Turbo triggers, cutting a full second off the back-stretch. The finish-line flash blinds you long enough that you need the instant replay to confirm victory and the sweet sound of coins clinking into your balance.

Alpaca Dash combines luck and strategy through unique lobbies, hidden NFT genetics, and unlockable skills. DeFi Landers who uncover all these details will be able to achieve strategic victories with their army of Alpacas. We will reveal tons of details today, but first here’s a very quick guide to getting started:

• To participate, you must hold an Almighty Alpaca NFT and $DFL tokens to wager. Races will have variable entrance fees, from fun 1000 $DFL buy-ins to rare jackpot (100K $DFL buy-in) races. 90% of the entrance fees will be redistributed to the top three racers. Whether you win or lose, the XP rewards will also scale with the entrance fees. In other words, higher entrance fees = higher $DFL earnings for the winners and higher XP rewards for everyone.
• When you log in for the first time, we will walk you through an interactive tutorial on the basics of navigating the website, registering your alpaca, choosing skills, and preparing for the race. This is highly encouraged for first-time players!
• Click the (+) by your $DFL in the top-right corner of the page to transfer your $DFL from your digital wallet to your in-game wallet. This is essential to keep the game running smoothly, even at peak network congestion.

• Races begin every 5 minutes. Browse up to 12 hours of races to find the best racing environment and ruleset for your alpacas. You can submit an alpaca to one race at a time, and you are welcome to submit multiple alpacas to a single race if there is room. Withdrawal from a race incurs a 10% fee.
• After submitting your alpaca, select up to 5 unique skills that will be activated during the race. Every alpaca begins with 10 skill points, so make sure you begin your skill tree before your first race! Skills maximize the fun and can give you the strategic edge to win.
• Once the race begins, sit back and enjoy the best racing experience on the blockchain. Scroll through different camera views, jam our in-house soundtrack, and brace yourself for the suspense.
• It’s called an idle racing game for a reason. You don’t have to activate any skills, smash keyboard or try to aim. Almighty Alpacas will race, cast skills and go over obstacles by themselves. Your job is to analyze the race in every detail and use the experience for the next time.
• You do not need to watch the race to participate and win the prizes. If you miss the excitement of a race, all of your recent races are recorded and available in the History tab.
• Keep notes on your alpaca’s performance with different skills, environments, and obstacles. We provide comprehensive statistics to help you discover your alpaca’s hidden advantages and select races in the future that will solidify your chances at victory.

Continuous Races and Endless Fun

Let’s start in the racing lobby. Each race has a unique set of environments, rules, and rewards. Every detail in the lobby is a key to your success.

The race track: From the golden glades to the red rock cliffs, the race tracks are more than a spectacle of beauty. Each race track has its own set of variables that can boost or slow down your alpacas depending on their hidden genetics.

• Stat limitations: These balance the races by giving different alpacas the chances to excel. Look for the green check on a race to signify that there is a stat limitation. Stat limitations can limit individual stats (like maximum speed of 60) or total (sum of stats less than 300). Races with stat limitations are where you can strategically pick your best alpaca for a given race, even if it’s not the rarest or highest level.
• Weather: Race in the sun, wind, rain, and cold. Rain slows your alpacas down and the heat taxes their endurance. The wind is physically engineered to boost or subdue your alpaca depending on the direction it’s blowing.
• Obstacles: You can preview the expected obstacles to survey the rugged terrain. Obstacles like ice, rocks, mud, and sand, will be randomly generated in each lane, adding a subtle RNG element to each game. Understanding the obstacles are also essential to selecting your skills.
• Number of laps and length: The longer the track, the more taxing the race will be on your alpaca’s endurance. Choose your most durable alpacas for the longest races.

In the right conditions and with the right strategy, an Almighty Alpaca can defeat a Mythic Alpaca or even a 1/1. Or you can just ape into each and every race. We’re cool with that, too.

Stats and Hidden Genetics

How can you uncover your alpaca’s strengths and weaknesses? Raising your alpaca is a journey. DeFi Landers who take the time to learn their alpaca’s personalities have the greatest chances of victory. This is because your alpaca’s strengths and weaknesses are tied to the metadata of your NFT in the form of its stats and hidden genetics.

• Stats: you can view your alpaca’s Top Speed, Acceleration, Handling, Endurance, and Intelligence. Each of these has a direct impact on how your alpaca performs in each race. However, there is a secret influence on these skills that can be determined only through studying your alpaca in different racing environments.
• Hidden Genetics: The attributes of your alpacas are just the surface of their personalities. Genetics are essentially secret multipliers on stats that take effect in certain environments. Take note when your alpaca performs better than expected, and you’ll be able to secure an advantage when selecting future races.

Skill Trees and Strategy

Your alpaca starts with a default of 10 skill points. This means you get to select your starting skills before your very first race. Every race will earn your alpaca XP toward leveling up. Each level earns skill points, which can be used to embark on your journey through your alpaca’s skill tree. Higher-level skills will be costlier, and we are expecting that it will take 1–2 months of regular gameplay to unlock the full skill tree. Skills are divided into three categories (with more to come):

• Intelligence Skills invoke your alpaca’s natural curiosity and cunning, with power-ups like Knowledge, Cleansing Blow-Out, and Chant of the Sun. These skills allow your alpaca to withstand obstacles and inflict psychological sabotage on your nearest opponents.
• Agility Skills boost your alpaca’s speed and maneuvering abilities, even in the face of the wind and the rain. Improve your alpaca’s handling with Sky Jump, accelerate with Launch Thrust, and zip through the course with Light Speed.
• Strength Skills sharpen your alpaca’s mental and physical fortitude to secure a dominant performance. Enhance your alpaca’s endurance with Buddha Breathing, crush obstacles with Rock Hoppera, and seal your victory with Hoof of Destiny.

Skills are one of the most important parts of the game, allowing you to not only be rewarded for gaining XP, but also to add deep elements of strategy and even teamwork.

• Strategy: From your unlocked skills, you will be getting a set of random skills in each race. The reason we implemented this is to make sure that you can’t utilize OP/Meta skills all the time and brings additional fun and RNG element to the game strategy. Selecting 5 different skills in a single race will require you to think about your own alpaca’s strengths, the racing environment, and the obstacles. There are Passive and Active skills, buffs, debuffs and shields, so make sure you take your time reading all the skills descriptions. This gives you more control over the fate of the thrilling race.
• Teamwork: If you’ve ever watched the Tour De France, you know that no racer gets the golden jersey without the help of his team. In Alpaca Dash, you can use multiple alpacas in a single race to boost your chances at victory. For example: you can boost one alpaca with skills that slow down nearby racers, and one alpaca to surge its way to victory in a distant lane.

Tip: strategically navigate the skill tree to ensure that you are maximizing your chances at victory, even when you haven’t unlocked all the finest skills. If you own multiple alpacas, consider unlocking different skills to use team work during each race.

DeFi Land Lore

The Lore of DeFi Land is an enchanting and adventurous legend of the challenges we overcame to reach where we are today. Beginning in the eye of a great storm, our protagonist has one mission: save his crew and pray that salvation will await on the shores of a distant land. Immersed in this story are metaphors of the blockchain, decentralization, and a pursuit of a world in harmony. Our in-house artist and creative team built this story into scrolls of comics, soon to be released exclusive to Drip Subscribers. We’re going to have quite a bit of fun with this, and here are a few hints to what is coming:

• DRiP will release weekly excerpts from the lore with unique rarity tiers. Each drop will be a small part of the story.
• Work as a community to piece the lore together and reveal the legend of DeFi Land.
• Because each drop is an NFT, serious connoisseurs can collect every panel of the lore.

The lore represents a special dimension of DeFi Land. While we are building fun and family-friendly games, like Alpaca Dash and DeFi Land Mobile, we are also on a mission. The Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker (CLMM)

Concentrated Liquidity Market Making was pioneered by Uniswap V3 as a novel DeFi strategy that combines Automatic Market Making with the ability to choose price ranges to significantly increase fees earned by liquidity providers. The way this works can be broken down as follows:

• Liquidity providers speculate on a price range of the tokens in the pool before sending their tokens.
• Liquidity providers only earn fees when the token prices are within this predefined range.
• In a conventional liquidity pool, you share the fee revenue with all liquidity providers. In a concentrated liquidity pool, you share the fee revenue with only the liquidity providers whose positions are currently in range.
• The risk is that if you fall out of your defined range, you end up with 100% of the “lower-valued” token and you stop earning fees. This means you experience more impact from impermanent loss within a smaller price-range, and you will have to rebalance your position to continue earning rewards.
• In other words, CLMM positions offer higher real yield from trading fees at the cost of a greater impermanent loss risk. However, they can be managed strategically to maximize the benefits and reduce these limitations.

How about an ELI5 summary? In a CLMM, you earn fees from DEX activity (just like a classic Liquidity Pool) but more of your capital is actively being because you chose a specific price range. This makes a CLMM more capital efficient when you are within the specified price range. In other words, you have leverage in the pool. However, any time you are working with leverage both your up-side and down-sides are amplified. In particular, the impacts of Impermanent Loss are quicker to take effect in a CLMM position. You experience impermanent loss when the prices fluctuate and your position can stop earning yield entirely if your position falls out of range, and it will need to be rebalanced to earn rewards.

Kamino Finance Automates your CLMM Position

The two greatest challenges with the CLMM strategy are creating efficient price ranges and managing your position to stay within range. This dilemma is solved by Kamino Finance’s automated strategies. Concentrated liquidity vaults are monitored to stay in range, and each position is initiated with an efficiently established price range based on historical price fluctuations. That means the hardest parts of the CLMM strategy are automated for you in Kamino Finance. Ranges are optimized to be wide enough to not have to rebalance too often and tight enough to capture enough fees.

Kamino creates efficient price ranges based on historical price fluctuations of the underlying tokens, and then algorithmically adjusts your positions to stay in range and continue earning yield.

Liquidity as a Utility

Liquidity is essential for the health of a token in decentralized markets. Having strong liquidity gives a reason for project supporters to hold and gives “whales” the possibility and a reason to trade.

• A reason to hold: Offering incentives to liquidity providers is a form of token utility. If you are planning on holding a token for a long time, you can increase your exposure by earning additional rewards over time by participating in liquidity provision initiatives.
• A reason to trade: Price slippage is the impact a single trade can have on the price of a token, and it correlates inversely with liquidity. A greater liquidity pool means the price is protected from sudden changes in price caused by large trades. This makes it impossible for large traders, or “whales”, to efficiently enter and exit trades. Deeper liquidity with active trading pairs help create an accessible trading ecosystem for the $DFL token.

Of course, providing liquidity must come with incentives. This is why, in addition to the real yield earned from trading fees, we are providing 5 million $DFL rewards exclusive to the Kamino DFL-SOL concentrated liquidity vault. Raffles were introduced to DeFi Land as the icing on the cake of our Play & Earn ecosystem. Raffles are a use-case for our ecosystem tokens ($GOLDY and $DFL) and a way to increase the rewards of our mini-games. The Golden Raffle system will raise the stakes even further. The raffle is a tier-based system:

• Tier 1 (200+ tickets) qualifies you for all prizes. You must reach Tier 1 to win the Mad Lad.
• Tier 2 (100–199 tickets) qualifies you for the mythic and baby alpacas.
• Tier 3 (0–99 tickets) qualifies you only for baby alpacas.

November 22nd, 2023 was a date many DeFi Landers had on their calendars. It was not because of a new release or upgrade to the game, but because this was the final VC unlock of the $DFL token. Now that we are free from the quarterly selling pressure of “bad actor” VCs, we see this as a new opportunity for our token to discover a fair price. Apparently, the market feels the same way:

• Entertainment: The island of DeFi Land is steeped in a deep lore that tells the tale of decentralization, virtue, and changing the world. This story is told through a manga that we have kept under wraps for a while, and are planning to release in early 2024. On the other hand, the IP of Almighty Alpacas can be used for animations catered to a broad audience. These silly creatures are already becoming popular on YouTube shorts and we are exploring a range of products like plushies and toys.
• Hyper-casual Gaming: We are set to be at the forefront of hyper-casual gaming when crypto breaks into mobile. DeFi Land mobile will be our premier mobile game, but we are planning a collection of hyper-casual games that are available on iOS, android, and (especially!) xNFT. Alpaca Run (available now on xNFT) is a great example of our ability to hack together games for casual fun.
• Community and Partnerships: We are building the tools of the future and will continue to use our progress to support our partners in the community. You can expect loads of partnerships in the near future, including Kamino Finance, Mad Lads, and Dr!p, We will also do everything we can to support you, our family of supporters who keep us motivated every day.
• Education: DeFi Land serves as one of the most frictionless on-ramps to learning the value of DeFi and blockchain applications. What is Alpaca Dash?

Alpaca Dash is the flagship racing game of DeFi Land. With incredible animations, realistic physics, heart-pumping soundtracks, and endless opportunities for competitive fun, Alpaca Dash is so much more than an idle racing game. We combined the thrill of photo-finish racing games with strategic elements that are certain to appeal to crypto-degens and statisticians, alike.

The Racing Interface — Choosing a Lobby

Almighty Alpacas have tons of diversity — some are fast, some are cunning, some have stamina, and those 1/1s are all-around awesome. Scroll through endless lobbies and pick the best one for your Alpaca. Each lobby has a unique ruleset defines stat limitations and the racing environment. These simple (but strategic!) rulesets give an opportunity to all Alpacas.

Preparing for the Race

Once you enter the lobby, you will be able to choose the best Alpaca for the particular ruleset, weather, obstacles, and environment. This is your time to prep, check out the competition, and select the specific skills (coming soon!) that will help your Alpaca win the race. You are allowed to enter multiple Alpacas, as long as there is space in the lobby.

Next Level NFTs: Rarity, Genetics, and Skill Trees

A special quality about our sold-out Gen-0 Utility NFT mint was the price discovery of the various NFTs and attribute rarities. Players accumulated pets and reward attributes, meaning you truly had to be “in the know” to snipe great deals on NFT marketplaces.

The Almighty Alpacas are designed to achieve the same connection between player and NFT while also giving everyone a chance of victory in the game. This means there will be a better balance among NFTs, while still featuring extremely rare and coveted items. Their core attributes will be visual instead of providing game advantages, so we put an extra emphasis on the art (and cuteness) in each one. Majority of Baby Almighty Alpacas will maintain the same skin when they grow, however there is a small (but same) chance for everyone that their Almighty Alpaca becomes mythic. These body/skin types are very rare.

On the other side, Almighty Alpacas will have stats to show overall information, however there are lots of numbers that won’t be shown to the users. Secretly, each alpaca will have a unique genetic profile that can only be discovered by playing to learn their strengths and weaknesses. Yes, before you can Play to Earn you will have to Play to Learn the best strategy for your alpaca. With every race, you can use your experience points in-game to guide your alpaca along its Skill Tree. Choose between progressing its strength, agility, or intelligence path to unlock different skills. Let’s break this down one more time:

• Attributes: Purely visual aspect of Almighty Alpacas. You will be able to easily spot your Alpaca on the track and be proud to cheer him/her on.
• Stats: Numbers to show the general information about Alpaca’s abilities and on-track performance.
• Genetics: Hidden advantages tied to each alpaca. You will have to Play to Learn to discover your alpaca’s unique advantages and develop a strategy around them. Some Alpacas will be faster, stronger, more intelligent and so on.
• Skills and Skill Tree: As you play with your Alpaca, you will earn experience that can be used to advance along your alpaca’s skill tree. Use the experience from the racing to progress the skill tree in your desired direction to unlock different skills and static advantages. To put it simply, skills will be like League of Legends summoner spells and Skill Tree like WoW or Assassin's Creed skill development.

Alpaca Dash First Look

As we spent countless hours developing the vast array of unique features for our Alpaca NFTs, we continued to upgrade our ambitions for the flagship racing game: Alpaca Dash. The Alpaca Dash experience will look like this:

• Select, join a lobby and put the entry fee. You will be able to compete against the game and/or other players. There will be multiple races going on at any given time, allowing you to pick the best ruleset and environment for you. Lobbies will show you information like the start time, number of competitors, cost of entry, obstacles, map type, etc.
• You will have several minutes to prepare for the race. During this time, you can select which skills you want to use for this race. Skills are abilities earned through your skill tree (discussed later on in this article), and can provide specific advantages for different environments and rulesets. There is a fee to drop out of the race, after you lock in your alpaca.
• The game is idle, but designed to be absolutely thrilling. There are always chances for epic comebacks and unexpected takeovers. Keep an eye on the prize!
• Rewards will be allocated to the winners, depending on the lobby rules. All alpacas will receive XP that can be used to advance on their skill trees. There will be a small percent of each game that goes back to the DeFi Land ecosystem (used for burns and game rewards).

Alpaca Dash will be our first expansion into our new Player-vs-Player (PvP) model. This is huge because it allows us to reward players and burn tokens without unlocking or minting new tokens. True to our Play & Earn philosophy, our core focus was on the game itself. So, what will make Alpaca Dash the leader in idle racing games?

• The Almighty Alpacas, themselves: Okay, so we’ve already covered the attributes, genetics, and skill trees of the Almighty Alpacas. But it’s worth saying it one more time. The Almighty Alpacas will be the key to why we are not just some horse racing game. Their unique visuals, secret advantages, and strategic skill trees will be the driving force of Alpaca Dash. It’s not just another utility NFT, you will be able to rep your alpacas as PFP on social media, with the high quality renders, gifs, cover pictures and more.

• Racing Environments: Race in the desert, tundra, forest, mountains, and more! Alpaca Dash will feature a multitude of beautiful race tracks, each in a unique biome. You will learn which environment your alpaca loves the most, and then you can use that to your advantage. Each race track will have a spectrum of variables, including wind, temperature, and rain, along with obstacles like ice, mud, rocks, and sand.
• Rulesets and Lobbies: Suppose you think you really have your alpaca figured out. You know exactly the environment he needs and the competition he craves. Lobbies are sorted based on environment, reward pool, and rulesets so you can find the perfect race for you. Rulesets are perhaps the most interesting piece here. Different lobbies will have themes that allow every alpaca to have a chance. There will be “losers lobbies” for the weaker alpacas trying to get their first win, lobbies that restrict alpacas to a certain overall level, and total free-for-alls for the top performers. These lobbies will be updated over time.
• Race for the Crown: Throughout each day, certain races will be randomly selected to earn your Alpaca the crown. When a king is named, that alpaca carries the crown with them to future races. King races will have larger prize pools for the challengers. Both King and other racers will be incentivized to race actively.
• Race for Revenge: Another goal for added fun in Alpaca Dash is Revenge modes. If you lose consecutively to the same opponents, you have a chance to get revenge bonuses. This makes your alpaca slightly more competitive and incentivizes you to keep trying to make it to the podium.
• Grand Tournaments: Every month, we will host several day long tournaments which will include racing on all type of track with various rules. The prizes will be massive and will also be livestreamed to the community.
• Betting: Maybe you have an Alpaca but want to put some more coins? Maybe you want to cheer another Alpaca in a different race? Maybe you just want to compete without racing? Well, that’s why betting on Alpaca races, even if you don’t own any is coming.
• Cross Collection Ambitions: Alpaca Dash is designed to accommodate cross-collectible races. We will be open to future partnerships, allowing your favorite collections to race alongside our alpacas.

• A lot more features coming: We don’t want to spoil everything, so will keep some other exciting game components secret. However, there will be lots of exciting and hidden components that you will be unlocking by racing more.

Why Should you Mint a Baby Almighty Alpaca?

Our priority in this mint is to introduce an extremely scarce supply of Almighty Alpacas to our loyal community. We are releasing just 1/8th of NFTs compared to our previous sold-out mint. You can only play Alpaca Dash if you are an Almighty Alpaca holder. This first generation of Alpacas will never have to retire, but they can be bred to produce future generations. These future generations will age and lose their ability to race over time. By minting now, you will be among the few who wield immortal Alpacas. But there’s more…way more. Mint 2 Earn and Hold 2 Earn offer two completely new innovations to our ecosystem that give you a big reason to mint and hold your NFTs.

• Mint 2 Earn: OG farmers who mint baby alpacas will earn 20% of royalties on that alpaca in perpetuity. There will be a standard 5% royalty enforced on our marketplace on each transaction. In perpetuity = FOR LIFE. Every sale of your alpaca will earn you 20% of royalties for eternity.
• Hold 2 Earn: Once Hold 2 Earn benefits kick in, you will earn 1% bonus royalties for each week you hold after the Almighty Alpaca reveal until you are earning 100% of the royalties. When an alpaca reaches 100% royalties distributed back to the players, the newest holder will begin taking royalty share from the oldest holder.
• Example 1: Bob mints a Baby Almighty Alpaca. If he sells right away, he will earn 20% of the royalties. If he sells after 20 weeks, he will earn 40% of royalties. If he sells after 80 or more weeks, he will earn 100% of royalties.
• Example 2: Alice purchases an Almighty Alpaca that was minted and has been held by John for 50 weeks. John makes 70% of royalties from that sale. If Alice holds for 30 weeks and then sells, she will earn 30% of royalties and John will earn 70% of royalties. However, if Alice holds for more than 30 weeks, she will begin taking away from John’s royalties. Because John minted, he will always earn 20% of the royalties. Alice purchased on the secondary market, meaning she can earn up to 80% of the royalties by holding.

Here in DeFi Land, the power of the Solana blockchain fuels our ability to mint, earn, farm, and forge. Our master craftsman, Roger, has been working tirelessly in his workshop to harness this power for an emerging technology. At first, he experimented with NFT attributes lying around after forging. He discovered that he could combine two NFT attributes in his Solana furnace and craft a stronger, rarer item. However, this wasn’t a perfect process. Sometimes he would combine two NFTs and they would simply burn to dust. Then he combined three, four, five, and even seven attributes! The more attributes he threw into the furnace, the higher his chances were to form an upgraded item. His obsession grew and grew. He began to collect attributes, sweeping floors from Magic Eden to the local DeFi Land Marketplace, and continued to reign in his craft. Finally today, Roger is ready to share the technology of our brand new NFT mechanic: Fusion.

What is Fusion?

DeFi Land is one of the most actively played blockchain games in the world. Our Gen-0 NFT collection unlocks our Play & Earn mode, which rewards you with $GOLDY tokens, raffle tickets, and leaderboard prizes. Rarer and more powerful NFTs help you earn more, play more, and achieve higher scores.

The fusion mechanic allows you to burn multiple Gen-0 NFT attributes for a chance to improve their rarity (you will have to disassemble your Gen-0 NFT before fusing). You will be guided through the process in the NFT Forging building, where Roger will show you the probabilities of earning specific rarities and attributes. Let’s go over some ground rules:

• Fusion has a low cost of just 1000 $GOLDY.
• You can fuse 2 to 7 attributes of the same NFT type and rarity. You will earn one attribute from each fusion event.
• Any rarity from common to epic can be fused, meaning you can chain fusions from common all the way to legendary.
• The number of attributes fused correlates with the probability of upgrading your rarity by up to three tiers (full details shown below).
• The attribute type you earn depends on the attribute types you fuse. For example, if you fuse 3 hooks and 1 float, you will have a 75% chance of earning a hook and a 25% chance of earning a float. You cannot fuse attributes from different NFT types.
• Fully upgraded attributes will not lose their upgrade status. The attribute you earn from fusion will have a level between the current level and the level cap of its new rarity. For example, if you burn 3 level 30 commons and receive an uncommon, its starting level will be between 30 and 50.
• If the attributes you are going to use for Fusion are not maxxed out, then the level of the new NFT attribute will be in the range of (average of levels/2; average of levels*new rarity level cap/current level cap). For example, if you fuse 30, 15, 30 level attributes and got uncommon NFT, then the new level will be in the range of (25/2; 25*50/30) -> (12.5; 41.5)
• Don’t forget to review the costs of Forging, which will be necessary to reassemble your NFTs. All attributes are tradeable.

Impact of Fusion on our NFT Ecosystem

We always knew the day would come when we would need to burn off some Gen-0 NFTs. Our watering event in early 2022 was an innovative mechanism that rewarded our early players with extra NFTs. However, this elevated supply now needs to meet its end. The fusion mechanic is our avenue toward providing bonus utilities for low-rank NFT attributes, while also shrinking the total supply. The numbers we derived for fusion follow a few goals:

• First and foremost, we want to reward the players. Reducing the supply, raising the floor, and upgrading attributes will help our current players earn more powerful items during the bear market.
• Our goal is to burn all the low rarity attributes. We carefully considered the consequences to ensure that we are not overly inflating the supplies of rare, epic, and legendary attributes. We expect that the number of these attributes will increase slightly, but the impact of the burns will overcome this.
• Fusion is a risk, and not every fusion will be successful. In order to have a sustainable approach to this gamified NFT mechanic, we need winners and losers based on a probability distribution.
• Fusion is fun. With amazing visuals, sound effects, and the chance to get super lucky with a triple upgrade, fusion is just another exciting gamification feature.
• We are hoping to equip our most ambitious players with the best NFTs possible. The next phase of earning in DeFi Land will be PvP-centric (think regular team challenges and opt-in competitions), meaning there will be higher rewards for more competitive players.
