Devin Doyle of Newport Beach, California established Response Fire Supply in 2013. Under Devin Doyle’s leadership as president, Response Fire Supply operates four branches: one in Nevada and three in California. Response Fire Supply provides high-quality fire protection products used in fire sprinkler systems.

Fire sprinkler systems are an integral part of any commercial or residential structure. During a fire outbreak, they prevent fires from spreading and damaging a significant area of the building. There are four different types of fire sprinkler systems.

The most common type of fire sprinkler system is the wet type sprinkler. The pipes contain water, so the building must maintain a temperature of 40 degrees, making the wet type sprinkler ideal for residential buildings and other structures with common hazards. When the predetermined temperature within the building is reached, the wet type sprinkler releases cold water stored in the pipes through the sprinkler heads.

The dry-type sprinkler is more commonly used in commercial buildings like factories, parking garages, and attics where pipe freezing and bursts are commonplace. The pipes in this system are filled with pressurized air or nitrogen. The pipe valve is kept closed by air pressure that shuts off water from the system. However, when an increase in temperature is detected, the air pressure drops, causing the opening of the valve and the release of water into the dry pipe system.

The pre-action fire sprinkler system combines the effects of wet and dry type sprinklers. The pre-action system is activated through a two-step process. First, as the smoke detector detect fire, a signal is sent to the valve to open and sends water into the system. Second, when the sprinkler head detects an increase in temperature, the sprinkler releases water onto the fire.

The deluge fire sprinkler system is commonly used in places where rapid-fire damage is imminent. The system uses fire sprinkler heads that are always open. Once an increase in temperature is detected, water is immediately released to all sprinkler heads.

Active in his professional community, Devin Doyle maintains membership with the National Fire Sprinkler Association.

In May 2021, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) teamed up through the Fire Sprinkler Initiative to host Home Fire Sprinkler Week. The event highlighted the height of injuries and deaths associated with residential fires, as well as property destruction.

With today’s homes containing numerous synthetic furnishings that tend to burn faster and more heat than natural materials, unprotected homes are particularly vulnerable. In addition to flames that can become uncontrollable within two minutes, synthetic materials generate toxic fumes.

Well-designed and professionally installed home fire sprinklers help overcome this serious issue, as they automatically turn on when fire flares up. This saves the lives of residents and firefighters and prevents structural collapse and loss of cherished possessions. Unfortunately, these systems are underutilized, with public awareness deficiencies coupled with legislative barriers, resulting in only a small percentage of homes being fitted with sprinkler systems.

An avid golfer, Devin Doyle enjoys a day out on the links when he has the opportunity.

When it comes to golf shots, two terms of critical importance are loft and lie. The latter is a static angle that runs from the center of the shaft to the clubhead’s sole. This measurement is taken at a normal playing position when the sole’s center touches the ground line. The proper lie angle is where the iron’s grooves are parallel with the turf as the club strikes the ball. The lie, and whether the club impacts the ball at heel or toe, helps determine the ball’s direction. A proper lie enables more consistent and straighter shots.

The loft is different in being the angle of the clubface relative to the shaft’s center. This affects both spin rate and trajectory when the ball is hit, which defines the shot’s distance. As the loft increases, the trajectory is higher and spins greater. This adds distance up to a point, but excess spin can lead to a ball lofted high in the air and of relatively short distance. On the other hand, putting too little spin on the ball can result in a ball that fails to stop when it hits the green.

Devin Doyle is the owner of Response Fire Supply and possesses years of expertise in the fire safety industry.

Fire hydrants are an essential part of an emergency fire response system and are used for extinguishing fires. The following are three types of fire hydrants:

1. Public

According to their flow rate, public hydrants, most commonly yellow in color, obtain water from a public water supply and are classified as either an A, B, or C hydrant. Public hydrants typically provide water at a rate of 1000 GPM at 20 psi. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, they should be flushed every year and have their flow tested every five years.

2. Private

Often red in color, private hydrants draw water from private or public water sources but operate using privately owned mains. Private hydrants must provide water at a rate of at least 500 GPM and 20 psi. Like public hydrants, the NFPA requires these hydrants to undergo yearly flushing.

3. Yard

Not designed to be used for fire operations, yard hydrants operate on private mains that draw water from private sources. These hydrants don’t need to meet any requirements regarding water flow, color, or testing criteria.

These branches are located predominantly in California, and include such cities as Newport Beach. Devin Doyle also handles sales at the fire protection supplier.

When it comes to fire protection, many people conflate the idea of fire protection with fire prevention. Though the two are related, they are also quite different from one another.

Fire prevention refers to a series of proactive steps that are taken to reduce the chances of a fire getting started in the first place. These include cleaning a fireplace, properly storing flammable materials, and maintaining electrical systems. Effective fire prevention also requires regular inspection and testing of different systems to ensure there are no mechanical deficiencies and that the systems are functioning correctly to reduce the risk of a fire occurring.

Meanwhile, fire protection is focused more on minimizing the effects of a fire after it has already started. Fire suppression sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and fire alarms all help building occupants detect and respond to fires more efficiently. The goal with fire protection is to ensure that building occupants are kept safe and have the best tools for fighting a blaze in the event a fire breaks out.

One of these branches is in Las Vegas, Nevada, while the other three are in different locations around California, such as Newport Beach. Prior to founding Response Fire Supply, Devin Doyle spent over two decades leading Reaction Supply as owner and vice president. While many people dream of owning their own companies, not everyone is cut out for entrepreneurship. Here are several signs that you are ready to run your own company:

You can succinctly explain your idea.
Good business ideas don’t take pages or theories and complex notions to understand. Rather, they are simple ideas that you can confidently explain to others. In doing so, your audience easily knows what your intentions are with your business and can easily get behind you.

You’re prepared for setbacks.
Starting a business is a difficult process, often full of setbacks and obstacles. If you want to become an entrepreneur, prepare for these setbacks by creating a plan ahead of time for dealing with them. Also, don’t let such obstacles get you down, and continue moving forward toward your business idea.

You are confident.
The world is a cruel place, but people cannot make you feel inferior unless you let them. Instead of letting others hinder your progress, stay confident and be sure about where you’re headed and what you are doing.

You have experience.
Every once in a while, business owners can grow from nothing with very little experience, but this is a rare occurrence. Ideally, you want experience leading and growing companies before you become an entrepreneur. This experience grants you knowledge of the ins and outs of the business world.
