Hi there, and welcome.

This is the first official episode of Purfle Podcast this year, but more than that, it’s a foundation. Everything we’ll be talking about in the coming weeks and months will build on this one truth.

But before we even get into that, I feel strongly to pause and say this to someone reading:

If life has felt heavy lately…
If things that used to be easy now feel overwhelming…
If it seems like everything is tightening around you…

Don’t lose heart.

God is still your Father. And if He cares for the lilies, clothing them in beauty and splendor, how much more will He care for you?

Hold on. Trust Him. He will come through for you in ways you do not expect.

This Year Requires Intentionality

It’s easy to let a new year just happen to you. Days roll into weeks, weeks into months, and before you know it, you’ve drifted.

But this year is different.

This is a year to pause and pay attention to your priorities.

And at the very top of that list is your relationship with God.

Because the truth is simple:
Your relationship with God is the engine that powers everything else in your life.

When that is weak, everything else struggles.
When that is strong, everything else finds alignment.

So this is a call to:

Be intentional

Be fervent

Be devoted

No more coasting.

A Personal Instruction That Might Help You

One of the instructions I received for this year is simple but powerful:

Pray in the Spirit a lot.

If you already pray in tongues, lean into it more this year.
Create moments for it. Even structure it if you need to.

Because something happens when you do:

You gain clarity

You access wisdom

You’re strengthened spiritually

It may not always feel dramatic, but it is deeply effective.

Now, let’s talk about the theme for this season of Purfle Podcast — Intimacy.

What Is Intimacy, Really?

A simple way to understand it is this:
“Into-me-see.”

Intimacy is about being fully seen beyond the surface, beyond the noise, beyond the facade.

And one of the clearest pictures of intimacy is this:

Imagine God inviting you into His house.

You walk in.
He welcomes you.
You sit in the living room.

But then… He says,
“Come further.”

He takes you into His inner chamber.

That’s where intimacy happens.

It’s the place where:

God reveals Himself to you

You begin to truly see Him

And in seeing Him… you begin to understand yourself

Because there’s a powerful truth here:

When you see God clearly, you find yourself more clearly.

You Can’t Stay at the Surface

This is not the year to remain casual in your walk with God.

This is the year to:

Grow deeper roots

Bear visible fruit

Stay consistent

Stay intentional

No more leaving things to chance.

God is inviting you into something deeper, but you have to respond.

The Foundation Scripture for This Season

Everything in this season will revolve around one scripture:

“Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” — Matthew 6:33

This is a principle we all should live our lives by.

When God becomes your priority:

Direction becomes clearer

Needs are met

Peace becomes steady

We’ll explore this more deeply in the coming episodes, touching various areas of life through this lens.

A Quick Reminder: You’re Already Invited

Here’s something important:

You don’t pursue intimacy to earn access.

You’re already invited.

But deeper intimacy requires willingness.

Just like a mentor inviting you into their home.
You may start in the sitting room…

But being invited further is a sign of trust, closeness, and depth.

If You Haven’t Said Yes Yet…

Maybe you’re reading this, and you haven’t fully accepted God’s love.

Here’s the truth:

God already did the hard part.

Jesus paid the price so you could come into a relationship with Him.

And stepping into that relationship is simple:

Believe

Receive

Respond

You don’t need perfection.
You just need willingness.

If you would like to accept the Lord Jesus into your life and surrender all to him, say these words with me:

Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God, I believe that you died and you resurrected on the third day for my justification.

Thank you for loving me, thank you for choosing me and because you have loved me, I respond in love because you have chosen me, I choose you as well and I ask that from today onwards you be the Lord of my life and everything that I do will be to your glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

This year isn’t just about goals, plans, or achievements.

It’s about depth.

Depth in your walk.
Depth in your faith.
Depth in your relationship with God.

So as you move forward, remember:

You’re being called into something deeper.

And it’s worth everything.

I’d love to hear from you, especially if you just made a decision to follow Christ while reading this.

You can reach me at purflepodcast@gmail.com, and I’d be glad to walk this journey of faith with you.

See you soon.

Fisola.

Share Purfle Journal

Quick question: what is the first thing that crosses your mind when life gets overwhelming?

From my personal experience and from observing others, I’ve noticed a pattern. When things get really bad, people tend to withdraw. They pull away from others and keep to themselves.

There’s always that feeling of “I just want to be alone. Nobody should talk to me.” Something inside you keeps telling you to disappear, to go somewhere no one can see you.

So that young man who used to be the “people’s person” suddenly doesn’t want to talk to anyone anymore. He would rather sit in a dark corner of his room, staring into space, depressed… or endlessly doom-scrolling through social media.

Hmm.

We must be wise and quick to recognize the enemy of our souls and his tactics. Because if you think about it, it doesn’t make sense. Someone who has fallen or is falling into a ditch should be screaming for help at the top of their voice, right?

So if something is wrong with you and the next thing you feel like doing is isolating yourself, that is not the right response.

Don’t stop being you because of a challenge.
Don’t quit on yourself because things are not going as planned.
And most importantly, do not stop believing in God.

Ask yourself:

What would I lose if I believed in God?

What would I lose if I remained faithful to serving God despite my situation?

You can take a moment to think through those questions and even write down your answers. But the truth remains: we only lose when we don’t believe in God. Or is it more profitable to believe in the devil?

I’m sure your answer is no.

Come rain or shine, our only option for seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is holding on to God. His promise to us is clear:

“…I will never leave you alone, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!” — Hebrews 13:5b (TPT)

God is holding on to you. Don’t quit.
God is real, and so are His promises. In fact, mankind’s very existence is proof of Him.

We must hold on to this hope in Christ and remain unwavering until the end.

In Luke 9:62, Jesus said:

“No one who puts a hand to the plough and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

In that moment, the issue wasn’t family or relationships because God Himself gave us those. The concern was that the man who claimed he wanted to follow Jesus was beginning to have second thoughts.

And that’s where doubt comes in.

Doubt is an enemy of our walk with God. It cannot coexist with faith. But faith is exactly what we need to remain in God’s will. That’s why we must be intentional about feeding our faith daily through prayer, studying God’s Word, fellowshipping with other believers, engaging in faith-building activities, and practising obedience.

Even the things you desire require faith. Believing God is how manifestation comes. Often, it is the devil who tries to blindfold you and push you out of faith so you can become his prey.

Don’t allow him.

Don’t stop fellowshipping with God.
Don’t stop fellowshipping with other believers.
Don’t stop doing good.

Don’t stop being joyful.
Don’t stop being hopeful.
Don’t stop reading the Bible.
Don’t stop showing love to others

Don’t stop showing up and putting in the work.
Don’t stop expecting a miracle.

…because your breakthrough is closer than you think.

This piece is inspired by my book Get Up and Fly!, where I share more reflections on faith, hope, overcoming dark seasons, and living a purposeful life in God.

If this article spoke to you, I believe the book will bless you even more.

👉 Click here to download Get Up and Fly! for free

You are not alone.
And you never have been. 🤍💜

He leads you in the way to go

I’ve been lost maaaany times.

I used to be that girl who could visit a place ten times and still get lost the eleventh time.

Let me share one experience with you.

I had just been admitted to the university, and on this day, my dad and I travelled to school to get my admin stuff done.

We got to the health centre, and not only was I looking “fresh” in my skirt, top and sandals, but I was the only one there with her parent.

Everything about me was screaming “daddy’s girl.”

So I said, “Daddy, this thing is supposed to take about 30 minutes. Can you go and wait for me at my hostel?” He got the memo, but was concerned about whether I could find my way back.

“Yes, I can,” I said confidently. Plus, it was less than 20 minutes away. So he left.

In no time, I was done, and the ultimate search began. Lol.

I promise you, I had a picture of the road in my head, but if only I could find it.

I kept trekking for over 2 hours and found myself on an endless path.

At this point, I admitted, “Fisola, you’re lost!”

So I walked up to a calm-looking guy and said, “Please, how do I get to Adenike area?” You needed to see the shock on his face!

“You’re going to Adenike, and you’re here?! Follow me,” he said.

Apparently, I was so far away that a description would have confused me further, so he led me instead.

The interesting thing is, some people are like that young me today:

Trying to blend in because everyone/nobody is doing it

Foolishly convinced that they know their way

Walking endlessly instead of asking for help

Wasting time and energy

But

Why try different things when you can simply know what to do by being guided?

Why guesswork and gamble when divinity can be on your side?

Why toil all night without a single catch when the creator of the universe can draw all the fish in the ocean to your boat by just being in it?

I won’t say anymore than to leave you with these words:

Life is too life to do it all on your own or seek help from amateurs

Surrender your boat to God and allow him to lead you in the way to go

Seeking God’s will is not idleness — it is fellowship, studying and following the promptings and cues he brings your way

Following God is not hard; it is safe

Follow him like a child, with inquisitiveness, asking, “Daddy, why are we going this way?” with trust, because, as my pastor would say, “it is okay to ask how shall these things be?”

Oh yes! Thanks to that guy (who I think was an angel by the way), I met my daddy at our agreed meeting point with a bottle of drink in his hand because, according to him, everywhere first blur when he didn’t see his only daughter for over 2 hours. So the drink was for strength.

Men and brethren, it pays to be led by God!

Grace and Peace,

Fisola.

Hi there, welcome to another edition of Purfle Journal. I’m Fisola, and I’m excited to share some thoughts that have been on my heart for a long time.

If you’ve ever followed me online or know me personally, you’ve probably heard me say: “The safest place is in the will of God.” That’s exactly what I want to talk about today.

The Pressure to Keep Up

Lately, my work has had me spending a lot of time on LinkedIn checking out people, prospecting, and seeing what others are achieving. And I realized: every day, someone is celebrating something. Organizations announce milestones, employees share achievements, and on other platforms like Instagram, X, and TikTok, the noise never stops.

It’s easy to feel the pressure to also want to achieve something, and “keep up.” And before you know it, you may be chasing a degree, certification, promotion, or even a side hustle just because everyone else seems to be progressing.

And while ambition is not evil, after all, God is a God of excellence, it’s important to pause and ask:

Why am I pursuing this? What’s my priority?

Ambition vs. Alignment

The Bible warns us that our desires can lead us astray. The story of Adam and Eve reminds us that temptation doesn’t always come as obvious sin. Sometimes, it’s subtle; the promise of greatness, the desire to be the first or the best.

Imagine God has called you to be a top fashion designer. It’s right to pursue education, mentorship, and opportunities to grow in your craft. But problems arise when ambition overshadows alignment with God’s purpose.

“Don’t let becoming what God has told you distract you from being who He has called you to be.”

You may achieve your goal, but if you forget God along the way, the essence of your calling gets lost. Excellence without God is empty.

The Green Zone: Your Safest Place

I’ll borrow a term from the military: the Green Zone. In war-torn cities, it’s the secure, heavily protected area where diplomats and soldiers can operate safely. Spiritually, your Green Zone is being in God’s will.

To enter it, you need a ticket: accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. To stay in it, you need consistent fellowship, discipline, and awareness of God’s guidance.

“The safest place anyone can be is in the will of God.”

Being in the Green Zone doesn’t mean you stop working hard or chasing goals. It means pursuing excellence with patience, wisdom, and alignment with God’s will. It means letting God guide your steps as you navigate life’s challenges.

Life Beyond Possessions

Luke 12:15–20 (TPT) reminds us:

“Be alert and guard your heart from greed, and always wishing for what you don’t have, for your life can never be measured by the amount of things you possess.”

A wealthy man stored up his abundance, thinking it would secure his future, but that night, he lost his life. The lesson? Life isn’t about titles, wealth, or possessions; It’s about fulfilling God’s purpose and living according to His will.

“As much as we have ambitions and desires, life does not consist of the natural things we have. It’s about what we do for God and the impact we make in alignment with His will.”

Excellence with God’s Anointing

Excellence is a mix of skill, discipline, and God’s anointing. David was talented, but God also anointed him. Likewise, your gifts must be paired with divine guidance to truly honor God in your field.

A Final Reflection

Whether you are a medical doctor, a fashion designer, a carpenter, an interior decorator, or anything in between, remember this: you have a higher calling. Your identity as a child of God takes precedence over your career, achievements, or accolades.

Ask yourself: Are you in the Green Zone? Are you living in God’s will, doing things His way? Are your ambitions aligned with your calling?

If your answer is yes, continue pursuing your goals with excellence and faith. If not, it’s never too late to reset and refocus.

“Your life’s value is not measured by what you have but by who you are in God and how you fulfill His purpose.”

Thank you for joining me in this episode of Purfle Journal. I hope it has encouraged you to pause, reflect, and prioritize your calling above all else.

Connect with Purfle Podcast on Instagram and X, or reach out via email: purflepodcast@gmail.com.

We live in a world where it’s easy to get carried away chasing the next “big break” or trying to “make ends meet.” In the process, we often miss out on the beauty of now.

We postpone our joy, tying happiness to something we must first achieve or acquire. But the truth is this: life is not measured by the things we own, but by the LIFE we have in Christ.

I like to put it this way: Jesus is my all-in-one package from God.

In Him, we have eternal life, and with that comes all things that pertain to life and godliness. This is an invitation not to center your life on what feels lacking but on the abundance already yours through Jesus’s death and resurrection.

And no, I’m not talking about abundance as material possessions. That view is still too narrow. True abundance is deeper. It is the ability to say:

“Lord, even if You slay me, I will never let go.”

Because Christ Himself is your life. He is your portion. And just as He feeds the birds of the air, He will also feed you.

He will teach you.

He will guide you.

He will show you what to do.

This is what it means to live abundantly: not scarcity, not striving, but resting in Christ, who is your supply.

So yes, I’m talking about all things, both the spiritual and the everyday, because nothing is left out in Christ.

Welcome to the abundant life!

Dear Reader,

Often, we become victims of life because we forget who we are, where we come from, and, more importantly, who is at work in us.

As believers in Christ, let me remind you: you are supernatural.
Yes, you eat, sleep, and walk through this world like everyone else, but you are not just natural. You are first and foremost of God.

This mindset, this God-consciousness, empowers us to live victoriously.

One of the best ways to live above sin, fear, and anxiety is to constantly be aware of who you are in Christ and where you are from.

God-Consciousness and Our Daily Lives

For instance, the reminder that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. When you truly become conscious of that, you begin to treat your body and your decisions differently.

Or think of how the Bible says: “Be anxious for nothing.”
That’s not a suggestion; it’s an invitation. An invitation to shift your focus back to God our Father and to rest in His sufficiency.

I like to say, “The Holy Ghost is our advantage.”
It’s a truth I’ve experienced personally.

A Personal Story of Divine Leading

In my final year at university, I was serving in student fellowship leadership, working, and constantly travelling, barely having time to study. I remember being so worried about an upcoming exam.

But as I walked away from a meeting, stressed and unsure, I heard in my spirit:
“You will hear a voice in your ear saying, ‘This is the way…’”

I didn’t even realise it was a scripture at the time (Isaiah 30:21). But after that day, whenever I picked up my curriculum, I’d hear specific guidance like:
“Read here. Study this section.”
And whenever I obeyed that nudge, the exact topics I studied were the ones that appeared in my exams.

That experience remains a powerful reminder: you are never stranded when you’re led by the Spirit.

Living Above Sin and Struggle

God-consciousness also helps in our battle with sin. Many believers feel stuck in cycles of temptation and defeat. But the truth is, you have the Spirit of God, the very one who empowers you to say no when it counts.

Sin doesn’t usually just happen. It often follows a series of decisions. But when you’re filled with God’s Word, when you’re aware of His presence, it’s easier to pause and choose differently.

Living in God-consciousness tames our desires through the Word and prayer, building stamina to live in alignment with God’s will.

Fear, Protection, and the Word

After being in a car accident with my family years ago, I struggled with fear while riding in vehicles again. But whenever fear rose up, a scripture would come out of my mouth almost involuntarily:
“No evil shall befall me, neither shall any plague come near my dwelling.” (Psalm 91:10)

It was like fire in my mouth. The fear would vanish.
This taught me that the Word of God is truly alive, and it responds to whatever confronts us.

Abundance Is Our Portion

In 2023, I learned more about the abundance mindset through a program called Design Your Life by Uncle JD. It helped me see that abundance isn’t just about finances, it’s about how we think, see, and live.

As believers, lack should not define us. Jesus said,
“I came that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

We are called to operate from a place of fullness in wisdom, provision, joy, peace, and purpose.

You Are Not Alone

We have angels, we have the Spirit of God, and we have the Word.
In every situation, be it exams, career decisions, relationships, health, or spiritual growth, a Word from God is available to guide and anchor us.

We are not left to figure life out alone.
And we don’t have to live like everyone else.

Living in the Will of God

The safest place to be is in the will of God.
One of the most powerful ways to stay aligned with that will is through God consciousness; a steady awareness of His presence, His truth, and His voice.

This life is war.
We are soldiers.
But God has not left us without weapons. He has given us His Word, His Spirit, and His presence.

A Prayer for You

My prayer is that you will see as God sees. That you will see situations, people, and even yourself through the lens of His truth.

May you stay anchored in His will.

May you walk daily in the awareness that you are not alone.

Can I get an amen?
