Introducing IntersectHLTH-Exploring Intersectional Health Disparities

In a world where access to quality healthcare should be a fundamental right, health disparities persist, disproportionately affecting marginalized communities. IntersectHLTH, a powerful platform for discourse and advocacy, strives to shed light on critical intersectional issues within black, queer, and young adult communities and amplify the voices of those working tirelessly to bridge the gap.

Meet the Author:

The driving force behind IntersectHLTH is an advocate for health equity and social justice, Erika Neal, Oakland-based public health consultant. With a background in student focused civic engagement and black community health, Erika possesses a unique blend of expertise and lived experience that fuels her dedication to addressing intersectional health disparities.

Her journey into the world of public health accelerated during COVID-19 — learning that health disparities, particularly those affecting multi-intersectional communities, are widening because of lack of information. This project seeks to bring diverse and intersectional perspectives into conversations historically ignored through writing and awareness.

Exploring IntersectHLTH

IntersectHLTH serves as a virtual forum for the exploration of pressing public health issues, particularly those that disproportionately impact Black, Queer, and Young Adult communities.
