It is very interesting taking up a challenge in a field seemingly different from what you do, with a skill you are not so used to.

Some days were so cool to write, while others were very daring. Especially with the fact that I was busy with work all through. Thankful for two things though.

1. I had already put myself out there so giving up was not an option.
2. I made batch content when I could, so that covered up for most days when I could not write.

But these past 100 days have taught me some lessons I will share below

Summarily;

1. I can do anything I put my mind to do, the cheat is just to focus and to consistently show up for whatever it is.
2. I did not realise how much I knew till I documented it, I used to underestimate my knowledge and experiences, but reading all I have written, shows there is a deep well to tap into within.
3. A personal challenge is not necessarily for the applause, it is to challenge yourself. Stick to that no matter how much attention you are getting or not.

Appreciation to friends who supported me all the way, from reading to sharing the articles, and encouraging words, I couldn’t have done this without you guys.

So what next now? Let’s see. I do know for certain that I will keep challenging myself in whatever interests me and writing is definitely one if it.

The experiences ranged from personal happenings, to acquaintances having such, and also discussions around such.

The thing is, if you do good work, it would definitely speak for you in the right places. Now, this is not to remove the fact of you speaking about what you do, selling yourself, it is more of you making sure you do the best you can at any opportunity at all you have.

Even if the returns at that time are small, do your best and put it out there, that best will yield something more and more and you would be grateful you did that one thing well.

This is your work speaking.

Do not give in to fear or self doubt, apply yourself to learning, to implementing, to building relationships, to solving real world problems.

Let there be a constant reminder in your mind that you are the only one who can make this work hence, you do all you should into making it work.

Applying yourself entails doing the work.

It is very important to be able to see things for what they would result in in the future and make decisions based on that, not based on the present pain or pleasure they give.

This enables you to put a lot of important things in perspective when making present decisions, it makes you think things through as to making a choice on issues.

Do not just do things for now, do them with the mind that they would benefit you in the future.

But those little details end up meaning a whole lot in the long run.

As a creative, being super meticulous is a skill which can be intentionally honed.

Take time to cross check your work, take time to read through things, contract, briefs etc

There really is no gain in being untidy, you earn more respect and feel good as a person when you are able to pay attention to detail.

Setting up systems is a way of making sure you have an external controlling structure outside you which you set up to always ensure you do what you ought to do when you ought to.

A routine is a system for growth.

An accountability partner/program is a system

A simple reminder is a system.

Putting your money in line if you fail to do a task is a form of a system

And many more, depending on what exactly you want to do.

For growth, setting up systems helps a lot, you should try it.

There are patterns to economic boom, career relevance/decline, people’s behaviours to things. There is a pattern to how you do things and all.

You really would always want to look closely at them and use them to make future decisions.

Some jobs went into oblivions on the advent of the internet and tech in general. Some more jobs will still follow suit as technology advances. Studying what made those other jobs disappear, will help make informed choices on skills to learn to be relevant in the future.

That is the good thing, we can know how to make informed decisions just by being informed.

Foresight and Hindsight are twins, and we have the latter as a gift already.

We are often so bothered about every little detail that we want every single thing spot on.

But the truth is, no matter how detailed you get, it will still not be perfect, because growth happens over time, you would see better ways of fine tuning the idea over time.

This should give a boost to starting imperfect. Start with what you have, then grow.

Register the business, start the course, apply for the job, just do what you have in mind to do, and you would see growth happen over time.

This is a place which gives you all you need for the present time and not much for the future.

This is a place which will hold you back from seeing there is always a better zone than the comfortable one.

The interesting thing is, the flip side of the comfort zone, just as the name suggests, is not so comfortable, it is the sacrifice zone, hustle zone, sleepless nights zone etc.

The comfort zone can rob you of being passionate, you do not want to be here for too long. Once you see that you are already too comfortable in a place without the zeal or enthusiasm for more, then you know it is time to leave.

It is very important to always take a self evaluation exercise, this would help you clearly see where you are, and possibly where you are going.

It would make you have a sane estimate of yourself and your skills. You would know what you can take, and what you need to work on.

You really would not want to live a life based on mere feelings or assumption of who you are.

And self evaluation helps you see yourself clearly.
