Manager: Now don’t eat my head and prepare all the formalities. Transfer his file to the adjacent Hinduism office and now when he will die, their afterlife version will be applicable. Whatever he pray will not reach us and Hinduism methods will be applicable. Prepare documents and I will get them duly signed by Allah. Also, give me his feeback form.

Feedback form: Well it was nice to be in your religion for some time. It’s just that the brotherhood concept suffocated me. I start seeing non muslims as inferiors, primitives whose life value was less when compared with Muslims. I wondered who’s actually primitive? The ones who believe that the creator created the whole Universe and divided his own creation on the basis of they & us or the ones who believe that this world is one family?

Manager: Don’t worry, the policemen will throw his body in some dustbin for scavenger’s dinner. Damn, caste is such a tragic and cavemen mindset. As an upper caste guy, I condemn it.

Marketing guy: Exactly sir but I am happy that even after being from a lower caste, I am working here with you.

Manager: Weird, why so many atheists are coming out of Christianity?

Marketing guy: Told ya, when the modern science doesn’t take the concept of God seriously, aren’t we some sort of genuises to propagate the concept of son of a God? Also, 7 days to create this world which is filled with hatred, extremism, war, discrimination, crimes, etc.? Dude you could have taken 8 or 9 or 10 days but atleast created a better product.

Manager: Stop spitting logic. Logic is an enemy of all the religions in this world. Now the issue is, where do we have to tranfer her files and documents? To whom do atheists believe or worship?

Marketing guy: Well any belief which is blind, rigid and doesn’t keeps the concept of freethinking/open mindedness in it or doesn’t accepts humor/criticism, comes under the purview of religion. No need to attach any supernatural being or divinity with it. So I guess atheism is a new religion and their God must be attending some personality and confidence development classes/lectures.

Now, let’s start.

You know what, problem starts with birth. I mean when you know that this planet is radically patriarchal and misogynist, why to even take birth? First you deliberately take birth and then keep crying ‘misogyny’ ‘patriarchy’. Isn’t it hypocrisy?

Then specifically talking about India. You want to get reservations/separate coaches in metros, trains and buses. What is the problem with standing/sitting around perverted males? The poor guy can’t even stare and make you uncomfortable? You should respect him for his diversity. Female in Burqa or salwar-kameez or saree or jeans, he spares none. That middle aged uncle who has a daughter as old as you can’t even deliberately create chances to touch you? Why should males suffer always?

Then you want full right in education as well. Special seats and privilege for you. So what that your gender was deliberately kept away from getting basic education for hundreds of year? You could have learned through some free YouTube channels of that era like Harappan Live or Mauryan Empire Videos or Delhi Sultanate Education. You know what? All these are just excuses.

In the offices, they want a separate cell for sexual harassment. Now an innocent male boss/employer can’t even exercise his basic authority/power for which he studied hard and got coveted degrees? What’s the point of that power/authority when you can’t take undue advantage of the weak and helpless and damage them mentally?

At home, they want laws to protect themselves from their own husband? Why did you even marry him in the first place? The innocent husband and in-laws attended drama classes to look modern and progressive but what if they couldn’t act progressive post marriage? You will punish them for that? With the pious institution of marriage, the society gave him the token to do anything with you and now you are opposing that?

While you always seek help to end the toxic marriage, that poor guy tries his best to save the marriage by beating you up and doing physical/emotional damage. That’s the difference between husband and wife. The insecure male chauvinist can’t even satisfy his ego now?

From posh educated colonies to an uneducated slum settlement, males in the family treat you alike and you should respect them for this. Staying loyal to ancestors and their beliefs. Not everyone can do that. Requires lot of guts and toxic conditioning for years. Now you want to break this culture with some cool movements? Why?

Now when somehow we males have controlled our chauvinism and ‘allowed’ women to exercise certain rights, what’s the problem with us dividing women empowerment into acceptable and non acceptable women empowerment? You are worthy of respect as long as you get medals for country and family. But if you drink or party or indulge in pleasure, that’s not women empowerment. If we allow this, you won’t be in our hand anymore and it’s our moral duty to guide you as we males are perfect in everything plus we are insecure of losing our authority/power over you. Please try to understand. Now we can’t expect this decency from you?

So yes, females are responsible for whatever that happens with them in the society. Men are pious and innocent and should be worshiped. Stop this unnecessary male bashing for God’s sake. Have some fear. We all have to go from this planet one day and are answerable to that almighty. Remember, he is a male as well so we homies chill, while you take dreams that we will eventually kill.

God: *excitedly* Come in, come in!

Auditors: Wow, you have this huge fucking structure in the middle of the Universe. What’s it all about?

God: Ah, that’s my home. It has all my demigods and messengers who keep checking how their message is being perceived by Earthlings. Although I have this huge ass universe, I tried to adopt specialization and focused on the growth of this one planet among billion others, who are further part of billion Galaxies.

Auditors: Damn, in all these billion years, all you have created is this one planet with life? Look at other Universes, they are booming with existence.

God: No matter how much they grow, they will never be able to beat Indians in this.

Auditors: What? Anyways, this huge structure where you have brought us, isn’t it visible to your Earthlings?

God: Na. They have declared that only 5% universe is what they can observe and I planned the construction in the 95% universe which they can’t observe. Ha ha ha, I am so smart.

Auditors: (-_-) Let’s start the work. As you have focused on this one planet only, we expect it’s one of the best in terms of quality. Otherwise, you know the rule of the game. If we find anything wrong, we will book a permanent holiday package for you and your family.

God: *being unaware of what is going on Earth* Sure Auditors, you can do your audit.

Auditors: What is that huge dustbin at the corner?

God: Ah, that’s the prayer bin. Humans on Earth believe a lot in prayers and expect it to reach me as if I don’t have any other work. I sell these prayers weekly to scrap dealers and make enough money to fund my Goa trips.

Auditors: *to God* So you keep cracking jokes here and there, but can’t take a joke on yourself?

Auditors: Your followers on Earth. They call themselves Human Beings. You have written multiple books for them, they have multiple names for you and talk about your dislike towards jokes and criticism.

God: Multiple books? I can’t even write a leave application form. How will I write books? Come on, give me a break.

Auditors: The way your audit is going, we guess you will soon require a break. Your so called demigods and messengers have created a very strict image of you. That you obstruct Humans from doing certain things and consume certain stuffs. They kill their fellow human if he/she speaks anything against you or even crack a harmless joke featuring you. Recently a famous writer was attacked because he had written something about you in a fictional book (other than religious books). They even feel a book’s life is greater than a human’s life. Some pedophiles are abusing young children in your name after declaring themselves to be the highest authority of a certain religion. Some start boycotting anything if they feel it offended them. They keep forcing others to shout your name and have divided and oppressed people on the basis of caste for centuries. Overall, all leading towards a hateful existence. We feel even the writer of this answer is in danger for making a comical sketch of you here.

Demigods and messengers: Sir, sir, we can expla —

God: WHAT WILL YOU EXPLAIN? Why will I create something like sense of humor in Human Beings and then myself abhor it and get offended from my own creation when they do that on me? Same with criticism. Without criticism, there can be no progress. Why didn’t you teach them that they all are same and equally dear to me? If a person says something about me, I will handle it myself. Who has told them to kill/attack their own people because they feel it has offended me? Bruh. I don’t need security guards or public relation team. I have conceptualized this huge universe which they can’t comprehend ever in their whole lifetime.

Demigods and messengers: We swear boss, we just went there to spread the message of peace, love and brotherhood. Whatever we said or wrote was manipulated by those who wanted authority as Human beings love power, they love to oppress. Even in the most oppressed part of world, there is oppression and authority. Eg.- A man from an oppressed community oppressing his wife. Also, humans oppress non-human animals and use them for selfish purposes. And each of us who visited them, they made religions out of us- attached books, verses, rules, rituals and authority/power. They still control the gullible who are in billions. Now, they have their own Gods multiverse and they keep propagating their own religion’s god (one of us) and say, mine is better than yours and fight/kill with each other over that. They believe there are different departments above and each God operates within a particular geography/nationality/community or collective beings.

Auditors: All this is cool but why there are no female demigods and messengers? Your batch looks like batch of a random engineering college in India.

God: Ah, I can explain that. This was done because —

God: Damn, who told you I am a male? My initials are they/them, for ‘myself’ sake. Wait, my name isn’t even God. I am Chi-Chi-Fiu-Fiu. Anyways, getting back to your question. As you know when I was sending these messengers and demigods, the society was radically patriarchal so my female messengers and demigods couldn’t rise to the occasion as when they would raise their voice, they were either silenced temporarily or permanent. But now, when the society is slowly evolving, I have placed my female messengers/demigods in large numbers on Earth carefully. They seek equality, fight for it and even get it. Earthlings call them feminists. Wise ones give them support, insecure ones give them hate.

Auditors: Your last paragraph made us change our mind and we wish to give you another chance to make things better. What do you plan next?

God: Umm…I feel the whole basic structure of Earth and it’s earthlings, their evolution into societies, cultures, traditions, their understanding of life, etc. is a bit flawed. I am planning to send another asteroid and get rid of this —

Spoil alert-

The film starts with a simple premise. There is a room where 12–13 women are sitting. Some on sofa, some are comfortable on floor. There is a mix of urban and rural women. A stereotypical presentation of each is shown which makes it easier for you to differentiate.

Three middle aged women are playing cards, a burqa clad lady is waxing her legs, a women in modern attire is having a cigarette and other women are busy with their own stuff.

Also, there is a girl in the background who is sitting on a dining table. It seems that she is preparing for some medical exam.

As we are introduced with the characters, we see a mute girl struggling to mend the cable TV of the room in which everyone is sitting. She is trying her best to get the TV remote work. After some initial struggle, she successfully tunes into a news channel.

News is about a rape case. The anchor is questioning as to why India is still so unsafe for women, why politicians protect rapists, why after so many years there are no proper measures taken.

Just then, there is loud thunder and the TV shows ‘No signal’. As the women try to understand what’s going on, someone rings the doorbell.

All the ladies start looking at each other in dismay. Suddenly an argument starts as to who would leave the house in order to make space for the one who is ringing the bell.

The ladies argue that they are in that house from the start and they won't leave and the one who is outside shall be ignored.

Jyoti (character played by Kajol) seems to be the owner of that house and usually her decision is taken as final. She argues that as the news of rape would continue, they would always have a new occupant at the home.

Soon, the girl on the dining table suggests that those ladies whose perpetrator were either their husband or brother or relative shall stay, while the other can leave. After hearing this, the rural ladies rejoice. Then they try to decide by keeping those only whose perpetrators were below 25. Again an argument starts and Jyoti tries to calm everyone down.

The victim at the door is still ringing the bell.

As the story progresses and the women in the room argue, there comes a twist.

All the women in the room are actually dead. Raped and killed. Their afterlife is being shown. That girl on the dining table is preparing for an exam which she won't give ever. That burqa clad woman who is waxing her legs, was actually burned to death by her husband.

As you digest this depressing twist, the ladies make a decision to keep the 'new' victim with them without making anyone leave the house.

Jyoti goes to bring the new victim while other ladies wait in the room.

After some time, Jyoti comes with the new victim. The victim, a 5 year old girl waves at everyone while the ladies look at her with utter shock and pain. The little girl goes towards one of the middle aged lady in the room and hugs her. The ladies try their best to hold back tears. Then, the story ends.

As the story ends, you're blown away by the plot and message of the 13 minute movie.

At the same time, you understand how serious the issue of “Women Safety” in India is. Through this film, you understand the plight of women, both in the rural and urban areas. There is a sense of shame inside you.

I don’t know if this move would bring any big change, but even if it brings a positive change in mindset of one person, then I would consider it a successful work.

Namit Bathla, a part-time dog pleaser and a graduate in Bachelor's of Nothing (Honours) passed away after coming under a kid's tri-cycle. First of all, what is Ex? It’s a term we use for someone with whom we were related to earlier and now you have separated. So, what’s ‘ex’? It’s just a term. They left you, that’s why you use that term before the relation you associated that particular person with, so that it becomes easy for you to make others understand your relationship with them. But inside you, there is this deep scar, which doesn’t understand words. It only understands emotions. That emotion takes you back to the memories you created, and the promises you made, which now seem meaningless and cringe. And not just this, we go back to them because they showed us a comfortable and easy world which now seems evil and corny.

Why do we go back to people who hurt us?

In this limited period that we get on this planet, we meet different kind of people, each having their own life story. Sometimes, you get attached to those stories, and this gives birth to a relationship. Now, you are them and they are you. But soon, as the life starts getting throwing its tantrums, you get sick of everything happening around you. You just want to leave everything and everyone because you don’t find them compatible with you anymore. In this fast life, your decision also becomes fast and when everything ends, you realise that you took the wrong medicine. Attachment is what is binding us Humans since the dawn. This 10 letters word is so powerful that we fail to realise it’s power. This can make us, destroy us, or keep us in confusion, all depending upon your perspective towards life. The one who ‘hurt’ you were once you because of the attachment and it’s not easy for you to digest that you actually hurt yourself. You react earlier but understand later. That is mainly why you go back to people who hurt you.

Why do I want my ‘ex’ back?

Once, they were your life. Now, they have left and have taken the ‘L’ and ‘e’ of Life with them. Now, all you have is ‘IF?’. You don’t realise, but you’re too ‘less’ dynamic to change. If you are comfortable with change, then I believe, that relationship was never a relationship. You want your ex back because they created a world for you, which was different from the real world. You want your ex back because you never wanted to leave them but took a quick decision. You want your ex back because you are too tired to start everything from scratch. You want your ex back because you want to revive back your faith in ‘relationships’.

Why they left me?

We Human Beings are social creatures who have varied interest. Sometimes, we take decisions which we never wanted to, and suffer later. Sometimes, we don’t value what we are getting. Sometimes, we don’t care about emotions. In short, we are ‘selfish’ beings. No one can answer why someone left you, because then one who left you might be pondering the same question.

Most of the breakup happens because of misunderstanding. We are too burdened by our insecurities that we judge and create opinion with the speed of light. We are too much aware of the world that it starts getting irritating.

What to do now?

No, no, no! Never take the risk of pondering such questions because they are meaningless. Keep doing what you have been doing since birth and i.e. moving forward. Religions may seem senseless, but the one point which I like about them is their take on ‘attachment’. For them, Attachment is the negative character of this movie called ‘Life’. The world keeps changing. People come, people go. Attaching yourself to someone is like applying a powerful gum between your fingers. The fingers get attached very easily, but when it comes to detaching them, it’s a painful task. But, all this is not easy. Also, we can’t do anything about it because we are conditioned like this only. Sometimes, break ups make people psychic because they get tired of being normal. Their mental system remains in shock because all this wasn’t a game for them. I have seen many hurting themselves because of the failed relationship. They find pleasure in doing so, because they think it’s their mistake. For them, they were the crazy girlfriend/crazy boyfriend who was not mature enough to handle such relationship. This is the power of ‘attachment’. It delusions you and help you in making you a culprit in your eyes. You try all therapies and the only feasible therapy you find is ‘going back to ex’.

What if we never allow such situation like ‘going back to ex’ to arise?

Think over it. Must of the failed relations have petty reasons which are created out of unnecessary ego issues. A relationship involves 2 people. To be concise, it involves 2 humans. And Humans are flawed, which is a proven fact. Relationships are like the tides: they ebb and flow. And when that tide is high, it’s utter bliss – every moment is filled with smiles and laughter and tenderness. But if that tide starts to flow back out? You need to sit back, relax and think of solving the issue instead of spreading it more. See, there is never anyone’s mistake. Sometimes, you don’t have any control over the things happening around so you just drop everything. No, don’t do that.

See, you don’t need to understand everything. Love is the most impactful phenomena in our life. Without life, nothing makes sense. A relationship generates out of love, and it’s only and only through the emotions of love that we nurture. But most of the times, we fail to understand it and create problems over problems. We realise that love is the only tool required in relationship, but then, it’s too late to realise it.

For ages women have been a victim of the patriarchal society. Their existence has been exploited for centuries. Although, the current world has recognized the importance of upliftment of women in the society, but still, in some places, women are denied basic rights just because they are women. Mostly, these things exist in places which have lower literacy rate. The religious texts available to us gave us the sneak. peek into the viewpoint of people of earlier times and the majority of their texts showed women as a delicate gender which needed to be protected, which was of course, not true. But still, the religious and social stigma took over the thinking power of Humans, and thus, ‘female is weak gender’ mindset spread like a fire. It pains to see that at some places; women are not allowed to enter temple premises just because of their natural body function. They are termed as impure by the so-called elders and wise people of the society.

The male mindset always considered female gender, a weak gender and someone whose sole aim of existence was to give birth and manage the family needs. In their mind, a man should always be the sole bread winner of a family and a woman should stay within the four walls of the house, so that they can take a care of the family while letting go their dream and aspirations. A girl child was viewed as a liability, and it took centuries for the people to realize that it’s actually an asset.

But now, there has been a great improvement, when we look at the present scenario in view of women empowerment. With the start of many pro-women movements, the world is realizing the mistake of it’s past. Now, in many fields, like economics or politics, women are empowered to take part in the functioning of the country and the world, so that they can be at par with the male gender and thus giving birth to an equal society, which is very much needed for the world to prosper. When women are given opportunities to showcase their skills, they are at par with male gender. But, the problem is, the society doesn’t provide them equal opportunities.

Many have a problem that why privileges are given to women if you want a equal society? My dear friend, to let an equal society to prosper, we must first let the unequal to reach our level, and this can only be done with the help of privileges.

For eg., if A and B are running a race, and A is ahead because of many privileges given to it, A can’t say that now let’s make an equal race, where I would run a meter in a second, and same for B, so that it can get EQUAL. If this is applied, it’s total injustice for B, so first it’s needed for B to reach that level of A, so that equality can prosper.

Freedom is birth right of every Human being and empowering someone is like giving them freedom to live life, the way they want, without any interference from the society and it’s mindset. We shouldn’t view this concept of women empowerment as a gift that we are giving to women, but, we should look at this concept as a basic right and we are. not. giving them anything from our side. They are getting what they deserve.

All this concept of ‘Women empowerment’ and ‘Feminism’ would not have been there if our ancestors would have focused on education for every gender. Had they not given women the certificate of handling house and children, today’s world would have been better.

Today, in many fields, women are holding high positions and are giving new value to the term, ‘GROWTH’. Be it sports, business, politics, service, etc., in every field, women are at par with men. Now, women are actually doing multi-tasking, and are successfully running both family and profession. This type of multi-tasking is an alien concept for the patriarchy torch bearers, and thus, they still try to devolve the concept of women empowerment, finding ways to satisfy their ‘unnecessary’ high ego.

Our society, our planet and our existence, each of these requires empowered women, in order to function properly. The term ‘Women Empowerment’ would be laid to rest only when every female in this world wouldn’t be stopped/questioned for. getting basic education or running for a presidential election. If we all work together towards this, while burying our ego and old-age mindset, then we can give birth to a better world which equal in all aspects.

But, you can’t assure us that the flyover on which we are driving our vehicle would not collapse. You can’t assure us that the foot over bridge we are using would never collapse. All of them were coming back from work, and I am sure most of them were tax paying citizens, contributing towards their nation’s development in every little way they could. In return, they thought that their government would take care of them.

But Namit, at the end of the day, it’s a bridge, i.e., a man made structure.

You are right, but no man made structure can be destroyed if regular audit is done and quality material is used for it’s construction, except in the case of nature’s fury.

Slowly and slowly, you understand that your life value in front of these power hungry politicians is nothing, except those 5 – 6 lakhs which is transferred to deceased’s family’s bank a/c that reaches them after years.

If you start digging up the ‘who is responsible’ ground, you would find only two words. i.e., WHOLE SYSTEM.

From contractor to bureaucrats to politicians, it’s a huge web of corrupted individuals.

Terrorist use weapon and harm innocents. The system use low quality material, unauthorized structures, non-serious audits, false reports, etc. and harm innocents. Doesn’t this makes the system unofficial terrorist?

Our army men lay down their life for us, by fighting the outside enemies. But, how can we save ourselves from this inside threat? Which is with us, everyday, every second while commuting from one place to another?

And when such an unfortunate incident takes place, they do tweets.

It’s like a kid gets failed in his exam, and when he goes home, he tweets:

“Deeply anguished by my result. My thoughts and prayers with those who had expectations from me. I have talked to my brain and have asked it provide as much relief it can, at this difficult situation. Don’t scold me mom dad, and lets stay united at this hour of grief.”

(This isn’t a diss track mainly for the present government. It’s for every government which has been in power in the past or would be, in the future.)
