My experience on Annular Solar Eclipse at 26 Dec 2019

annular solar eclipse

It's wonderful to observe such astronomical events like solar eclipse, lunar eclipse. This time its annular solar eclipse viewed from the southern part of India.

It’s a bright sunny day. I went to the office around 8.30 am (earlier than usual). I usually commute via bus. I was very much excited to see the eclipse. This time, I have solar filter glasses with me.

Once I reached the destination, I was looking for perfect spot because event has to be seen without any interruptions. Just looking high and low.

Then I found spot atlast, it was top of the building with 5 floors. Just wore my solar glass and looking at sky. The place actually comes under the umbra region (under this region, you can get full solar eclipse), others outside this region will only get partial eclipse.

Umbra is the innermost and darkest part of a shadow, where the light source is completely blocked by the occluding body. An observer in the umbra experiences a total eclipse. Penumbra is is the region in which only a portion of the light source is obscured by the occluding body. An observer in the penumbra experiences a partial eclipse.

Eclipse starts

Then the moon slowly starts hiding the sun from the top edge and moves towards the center. Its roughly moving around 10000 mph. We will be able to see the event in a 3 minute period (Max eclipse stage).

image of eclipse taken from my phone :)

People who don’t have solar glasses can view the eclipse through a pinhole camera or nearby planetarium. You can also DIY pinhole camera by following this link. Else nature provides you an alternative solution for you. Go nearby a tree with dense leaves. Then you can able to see the eclipse as a projection on land. Holes in trees act as pinholes that project the impression on the earth.

impressions from leaves of tree

Whooh!! I have seen it. You can actually feel the change in the environment for moments. Just enjoy the event. There may be a slight decrease in temperature during the eclipse.

Hope you will join this glorious event next time. Next solar eclipse will be on June 21, 2020.

Thanks for reading!!

Recently the Tamilnadu Government conducted an interview for 549 vacant places for Cleaning Staffs for Coimbatore city. The below picture says that “Engineers Gathered for Cleaning Staff Job Openings”.

Source from “News7” Regional news channel

Over 7000 members applied for that post. People should have age between 21 and 56 (inclusive) to apply for this job. Having 10th standard schooling (sslc) is the primary qualification.

In those applicants, most of them were degree holders including B.E (Engineering), B.com, other degrees, even Dual Degree Holders!

While hearing this news, I m shocked and think of this hard situation happened to the people.

What might be the root cause of this?

I accept the fact that "every job is a good thing to do". But when people didn't get what they deserve, there comes the crisis. Their prior to education is literally unused.

Life will be chaos, even people will be forced to pick a job that is available. It is a choice made between a preferred job and selected job.

Being employed in any job is far better than unemployed. Below shows the statistics of the unemployed rates in India.

Source from businesstoday.in

Whom can we blame?

Do you even believe the fact that “unemployment is the root cause of the major crimes”? Still, there can be many other reasons for that too, but the primary cause would be this. Everyone needs a job to engage themselves in.

The education system needs to be transformed in a way that it feels like discover skills of every student and concentrate over it. Its really need for developing countries like India.

Engineering is a good field, but the system needs have to be changed. Admission Rates of Many engineering colleges has drastically reduced. people started taking up other courses apart from engineering. it has to be more practical and interesting system as easy to grab the concepts and applied in everyday life. The one primary thing needs to be solved:

“Students Should Know Where These Subjects Will Help Them in Reality”.

There’s a person openly giving an interview to a local news channel. He told," he was working in private concern, he was ready to switch government job that is secure and permanent".

Which sector is better? Public vs Private job?

This is the current situation (that has to be dealt) of unemployment candidates. Still, the reality is harsher than we think! This happens to people around the cities of India.

Firstly, I tried to make it a LinkedIn post, but it exceeds the maximum character limit. So as I writing this article about a serious situation. We are living in modern society, that is our primary responsibility to make sure that a healthy environment and a caring society.

Your feelings and visions are welcoming. Feel free to share your thoughts. Don't take this personal!

Thanks for your time!

A cup of coffee and day begins...

Commute to work (8.00 am)

My home is a bit far from the office. It takes 1hr 30 minutes to reach the office (65 km away from home). I commute via motorcycle and bus. Motorcycle (20 min drive) to reach the bus station and bus to reach the office(70 min). But we can also have a flexible time which means we can start work early or late at the office, I can choose the time that fits for me.

Arrive at work (9.30am)

I have a glass of water and switch on the Air Conditioner. It would provide enough cooling to ensure that the system works well.

As soon as I get my desk, I switch on my pc and log in and then check if there any urgent emails to deal with. I connect to my team manager to report the progress of the past day. While my teammates start work at different times. They will join me in a while. We discuss the project workflow and state of it.

Start work for the day (10.00 am)

I work for a service based software company. We work as a team to complete the project. I work on modules of the project that are allotted for me. I can also my fellow teammates in their work (mutual learning).

The product manager has a list of tasks to be done for the day. If there’s any issue or delay in the project, we need to report immediately to him. He schedules the whole the project and prioritises the tasks(modules) so the critical tasks are done first.

Lunch (1.00 pm)

Sometimes we get together and go outside to have lunch called team lunch. It’s nice to go walk around to the restaurant and have lunch. Its good to get away from the computer and quite often if I m struggling with programming issue, I will go out and have some air and water, watch people outside and come back to my desk nice and refreshed.

Back to work (2pm)

Back to desk more of the same — have a cup of water and writing my tasks on the notebook (pen and paper is the best method). I would like to hear music while coding my project. It helps me settle on the zone and concentrate on the work (a bit relaxed feel). Time goes really quickly when you’re writing software as you’re so engrossed in what you are doing.
https://medium.com/media/af0d196a0488672b09f2c961ef90541c/href
Tea Time (4.30 pm)

We will have a cup of tea outside the office, tea is sponsored by the founder of the company (CEO). We will give work for our legs to walk on and find the right shop to have tea/coffee.we will have unofficial talks here. Then once done we will return back to our desks and continue our work.

Back to desk (5.00 pm)

After heading back to the desk, we will continue the work where we left off. In some cases, there is an invite to be Technical HR to interview the candidates (if any). Me and my teammate will give an interview session for candidates. In the session, we will be asking them questions related to their work and from their resumes. After some time we will dig deep into the technical part (looking for coding & logical skills). Once the interview is done, we will give a review of candidates performance to the CEO (higher authority). He will handle the rest. We have a checklist to be ticked on what we did. A little review session for tomorrow’s work.

Home time (6.30 pm)

Say goodbye to my colleagues. Walk to the nearby bus stop to get my hometown. And catch the bus (it’s frequent). Or head to the technical event (meetups) happening around. It’s really good to get involved and inspired by creative, intellectual, experienced people.

Commute back to home

After catching my bus, it will be again 1hr 30min to reach my home. Half the way by bus to the hometown bus station, from there again motorcycle to get back home. If i am more hungry, I will grab a snack nearby. And head home.

Dusk of the day

Then the moon comes out, time to have dinner at home. Home-cooked food is always been good. I did spend some time with my family. The discussion will be going around far away. I set up a smart home in the bedroom. It will play some music and set alarm for next day, changes the colour of led bulb (Google home mini and smart led). Then goodnight, its time to hit the hay!! Sleep is the best relief method. Have proper sleep.
https://medium.com/media/0d9706cee532e445dcedff96b12b45b7/href
That’s all, we wrap up here

If you like to appreciate me, you can do it by claps. Alternatively, you can connect to your Pi via SSH to save the clutter of extra wires. We will cover how to control LEDs whichever method you choose.

Once you are sure the Raspberry Pi is booting up correctly, turn it off again while you build your circuit, to avoid damaging your Pi.

Along with your Raspberry Pi, you will need:

A breadboard

1 x LED

Jumper wires

here’s keylogger.py file:
https://medium.com/media/f34dde53522a661338b33a0277db4431/href
Follow the steps below:

Home menu > Programming > Thonny IDE

save file as “Keylogger.py”

connect the LED in breadboard with jumper cable to the 5V pin and other jumper wire to GPIO pin 8 (you can choose any pin, but remember the pin)

Type/copy the code in keylogger.py file from above.

click Run symbol in IDE or go to file location > right-click > start terminal >type ‘Python Keylogger.py’ > Click enter

Now your keylogger is running, you can play with your keyboard. go to any window and type something. all contents will be saved with log to key_log.txt file.

when you each time hit the key in keyboard, your led will Blink!

close Terminal or stop in IDE to end the program. now you can view file saved in same location.

https://medium.com/media/f5c42436718b3112ba89098c984e07f2/href
Github

Source code available:

iamprakash13/Keylogger-Raspi

Final Thoughts

Its always fun playing with rasperrypi.
