Once upon a time, when spirits walked the land, a humble farmer was tending to his crops on Harvest Eve’s night, when he was approached by the Pumpkin King. With a golden grin and twinkling eyes, the Pumpkin King congratulated the farmer for the bounty of his land. The farmer, though a little afraid of the entity, remained proud of his hard work and told the King of Autumn about his wish for the harvest to never end. To this, the Pumpkin King replied, “Harvest your best pumpkin, carve it into my likeness, and I will grant you this wish,” his smile wide and his eyes bright.

The farmer, too humble to pass up such a gift, gathered the largest pumpkin in the field and began carving it right there. When he was finished, he presented his benefactor with a masterfully carved likeness, a pumpkin so well-rendered it reflected the Pumpkin King’s own visage. At first, the King was full of awe, for he was vain and delighted by his image. But as he examined the carving more closely, his delight turned to fury. The reflection was too true, too perfect, and in it, he saw all the small imperfections of his own face mirrored back at him.

Without another word, the Pumpkin King smashed the carved likeness with his mighty hand. Then, with a sweep of his cloak, he soared into the sky, whispering sweet lies into the moon’s ear, tricking it to stay in place forever so that the seasons could not pass. And so, it happened that autumn stretched on, endless streams of falling leaves blanketing the golden fields.

At first, the farmer thought this was a blessing, collecting sack after sack of bountiful produce. But as days turned to weeks, then months, and the season never changed, the land grew weary. The yellow leaves kept falling, and the crops began to stall. The farmer, once thrilled with the endless harvest, now found himself overwhelmed, unable to keep up with the relentless pace. His prized fields began to rot, bloated with maggots, vermin, and disease. That was when the farmer realized his folly.

In desperation, he pleaded to the trickster’s kin — the courts of the Lumenir and Umbralim, of summer breeze and winter wind. “Please!” he cried. “It was my wish that caused this. Now I see how it must be!” He fell to his knees. “There is a time for harvest, and a time for rest! Undo the trickster’s curse and let the seasons turn once more!”

The spirits took pity on the farmer and decided to put an end to their brother’s scheme. They broke the endless autumn and restored the natural cycle of the seasons, binding the Pumpkin King to the shadows where he could no longer meddle with the world. But his vanity could not be fully tamed. On the night of Harvest Eve, he is free to roam again, searching for tributes made in his image. To keep his tricks at bay, the people carve pumpkins in his likeness, careful not to make them too perfect. For if the Pumpkin King is offended by a face too true to his own, his rage may return — and with it, another endless autumn.

Spooky season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a special in-game event in RavenQuest?! 👻🧟

As the nights grow longer and the air gets chillier, we’re thrilled to introduce the Harvest Eve Event, a limited-time celebration filled with treats, Player Titles, Early Access Exclusive House Cosmetics (NFTs) and Halloween-themed fun for all Adventurers!

Don your spookiest gear, and let’s dive into the details of the event! 💀

Harvest Eve Supplybag: Trick or Treat!

From October 25th (9:00am Pacific Time) to October 28th (9:00am Pacific Time), RavenQuest will be Online giving you a chance to collect the special Harvest Eve Supplybag, which can be obtained alongside regular Supplybags.

There’s always a chance you could receive one of these bags as a spooky bonus, since it’s possible to get both a regular Supplybag and a Harvest Eve Supplybag at the same time!

👉 If you’re not already on board, create an account now!

What’s inside the Harvest Eve Supplybag?

🎃 Harvest Coins
When opening a Supplybag, you might find Harvest Coins inside!

Rumor has it that during Halloween, a mysterious lady can be found in Ravencrest, eager to trade these coins for special rewards. In this new zone, you and your guild will compete to capture and defend territory by taking control of four towers spread out around the battlefield and securing a flag located in the center, where the fighting is thickest.

These high-stakes battles will decide which guilds earn Gold, Warforged Shards, and most importantly, the glory and prestige that comes with triumphing over your rivals!

Guild Wars take place once a week and the first one will happen on September 28th, 12:00pm Pacific Time, giving your team some time during the Early Access to strategize!

The Bidding Phase will be enabled on Monday, and you will be able to check more information about the Wars in the Guild Panel in-game.

Speaking of strategy, no war is won with empty pockets, so let’s jump straight into the topic of Guild Banks!

Contribute to your Guild’s Financial Growth!

To encourage the growth of guilds, we introduced the Guild Bank System. This opens new avenues to support your guild and bring value to the group besides having the best build or most experience. By depositing silver to the Guild Bank, you can play a key role in spearheading bold ventures to increase your guild’s influence and power.

The Guild Bank lets all members deposit silver into a shared account, managed only by Leaders and Vice-Leaders, without the option to withdraw. The silver balance and deposit activity will be visible at all times so those who best embody the spirit of camaraderie and generosity will get the recognition they deserve.

Funds in the vault are reserved for guild activities, including Guild Wars. Plus, with this system, your guild will earn a 2% silver bonus from certain activities, like monster hunting, which will be automatically added to the Guild Bank.

Get Ready for The War!

Guild Wars start with a Bidding Phase. Contribute enough silver to place your guild among the top 20 bidders for a chance to fight for Gold and Warforging Currency. The Guild will receive a bonus based on their placement compared to the total amount of bidders (Guilds), for a max. of 30 bidding Guilds.

After the Bidding Phase ends, participants can enter the Guild War. They will begin in a designated camp, available 30 minutes before the war starts. This setup allows time to rally the team and finalize your strategy before the battle begins.

Once the preparation period is over, the main gates will open, granting access to the battlefield, which includes Shrines, Towers, and a central area where the Golden Flag awaits.

From that point onwards, it will be up to your team to decide which objectives must be held at all costs and which battles should be contested to ensure the ultimate victory over the war itself!

The War

The Guild Wars map features four towers, one in each corner of the battlefield. These neutral structures generate points for the team that controls them. The war ends when one side reaches 2,500 Victory Points.

Each tower contains a Gray Banner, symbolizing neutrality. Capturing the tower involves seizing the banner, which will then turn blue to represent your team’s control. However, if the enemy takes over, the banner will switch to red.

Control of the banners can shift repeatedly, but the key is holding the tower as long as possible. Every tower controlled by your Guild generates 5 points every 15 seconds. The status of each tower’s control will be displayed via a UI element in the top center of the screen.

Additionally, at the center of the map lies the Golden Flag, a key objective for both guilds in the Guild War. Players can pick up the flag, but it will be dropped if they die or use certain escape skills. Delivering the flag to a tower grants 50 points to the capturing guild!

In Guild Wars, players will respawn at one of the two shrines on their side of the battlefield, without the usual death penalty.

Additionally, at the center of the map lies the Golden Flag, a key objective for both guilds in the Guild War. This effect cannot be removed by any means, however it can be mitigated by killing Abominations. Each time a player kills an Aether Abomination, 4 stacks of “Severed Link” are removed. In Duo Rifts, this applies to both players.

Removed Aether Echo Scrolls as a reward from Aether Rifts.

Reduced the overall amount of obtained Dawn Essence, Experience, Infusions and Treasure rewards from the Aether Boss Chest.

Reduced the overall chance to obtain Trophies from Aether Rifts to account for more openings being made.

Aether Echoes

Added Aether Echo Scrolls to Luxury Supplybags. This means that Aether Echo Scrolls can now be obtained from both Luxury and Legendary Bags.

Patrons who complete 3 Adventurer’s Board tasks in a single day will now receive 1 random Aether Echo Scroll. This reward can only be earned once per account each day, by the first character to complete all the tasks. This resets daily.

Players who enter Aether Echoes will now fall into two distinct reward categories:

Scroll Bearers ー These are the players who sacrifice their scroll to summon an Aether Echo. As the only player required to give up an item to initiate this content, they will receive significantly greater rewards.

Aidees ー These players join the Scroll Bearer in battling the Aether Echo. To ensure fair compensation, we’ve revised their rewards, offering adequate returns, though not as substantial as those awarded to the Scroll Bearer.

In light of these two categories, most reward values and percentages have been overhauled. Key changes include:

Supplybag drops have been removed from Aether Echoes.

Cosmetic Material rewards are now exclusive to Scroll Bearers.

Guaranteed Binding Aether is now only awarded to Scroll Bearers.

Aidees can only receive a Trophy when participating in Hard or Madness difficulty Aether Echo fights.

The overall amount of rewards from Aether Echoes has been reduced to increase the replayability of this content.

Aidees have a small chance to receive an Aether Rift Charge or a random Aether Echo Scroll upon successful completion of an Aether Echo, encouraging players to assist others and form scroll rotation parties. The chances for Scroll Holders to obtain these rewards are greatly reduced.

These changes aim to significantly enhance the value of using your Scroll and prevent the exploitation of new players, while improving accessibility and replayability. Additionally, these adjustments better balance the cost-reward ratio, addressing the previous issue where all players received equal rewards despite one player making the greater sacrifice to summon an Aether Echo.

To truly earn glory, one must face challenges worthy of greatness. With this update, we’ve made significant changes to how Glory Shards are acquired during creature hunts, better reflecting the valor required to earn them.

The drop rates for Glory Shards are now more dynamic, scaling with the strength of the creatures you hunt:

Hunting large swarms of weaker creatures, like Fox Cubs, will now generally yield fewer Glory Shards.

In contrast, taking on more formidable creatures that appear in smaller numbers, such as Drakes, Demons, or Gazers, will now significantly increase your chances of receiving Glory Shards.

These changes aim to enhance the sense of accomplishment from taking on greater risks and seeking out more dangerous foes. Remember: no guts, no glory!

We’ve been actively gathering feedback and closely monitoring how everyone is engaging with the new Aggro System. Effective threat management is a crucial skill for any team, and based on our observations, we’ve made some necessary additions and adjustments to enhance the system as a whole. The key changes are as follows:

Initial Threat Generation ー Introduced passive Flat Threat Generation for creatures, which determines the initial amount of Threat and their target when a player first engages in combat.

Flat Threat Generation ー Introduced Flat Threat Generation for creatures, which determines the initial amount of Threat when a player first engages in combat. As you progress your character, explore the world and engage in various activities within the Ravendawn Universe, you will obtain and collect some of them. However, you won’t use them as equipment or trinkets; instead, these items act as prerequisites for unlocking specific rewards that will enhance your gaming experience.

Each region of Ravendawn has its own set of Artifacts, and you can easily check how to obtain them and what their rewards are, as well as track your progress in each of the following regions by opening the new window Journals:

In-Game Screenshot: Journals

But there’s more to discover! Therefore, we’re constantly on the lookout for ways to improve interface design and make your gaming experience even better! 💖

The BattleList is here! Now, choosing your target during battles is a breeze. With the BattleList, you can effortlessly select your primary focus and even keep a close eye on your foe’s health.

But that’s not all — you have the power to customize your battle experience further with handy filters. Tailor the display order on the BattleList to your liking and decide exactly what information you want at your fingertips:

As part of this ongoing effort, we are also excited to introduce a significant addition to the Interface: the Party HUD!

This new interface will make it easier than ever to identify members of your party group, allowing you to quickly track their health and status.

Now, you’ll be able to support your team members more effectively, whether by providing strategic buffs or delivering heals when needed. The Party HUD is a feature designed to enhance coordination and group gameplay, making your adventures in RavenQuest even more exciting and immersive! 🤝

But that’s not all! We also made several improvements to the Infusion tab to make it easier for you to infuse your equipment. With the new Infusion Interface, you can view and select all the equipment and items that you have available to infuse all in one window:

In-Game Screenshot: Infusion Interface

🪄 Quality Crystals

We understand the importance of crafting to ensure that equipment holds significant value in the game. That’s why we’ve been hard at work implementing changes to make Crafting a more engaging experience.

Therefore, we are introducing Quality Crystals, which will add extra Attributes and sub-stats to your items. Let’s dive into the details of these exciting changes?! 🧙

Quality Crystals are added to a piece of equipment through Crafting, and they provide extra Attributes and/or Sub Stats to it. When you craft equipment, instead of the quality bar impacting the Grade of the equipment, it will now give it a Quality Crystal.

Every time the player fills the quality bar up, 1 Quality Crystal will be added to the item. This bar can be filled as many times as you are able throughout a craft. The more times, the more Quality Crystals the item will get. A piece of equipment, however, can only have Quality Crystals up to a certain amount based on its Tier:

Tier 1: 1 Quality Crystal

Tier 2: 2 Quality Crystals

Tier 3: 3 Quality Crystals

Tier 4: 5 Quality Crystals

Tier 5: 7 Quality Crystals

Tier 6: 10 Quality Crystals

Quality Crystal can roll any of the 5 Attributes (Vitality, Might, Dexterity, Intelligence & Wisdom) and any of the Sub-Stats (Weapon Power, Weapon Defense, Spell Power, Spell Defense, Haste, Healing Power, Max Mana, Max Health, Health Regeneration, Mana Regeneration, Precision, Impact).

The quality of the materials used will no longer provide the recipe bonus quality when the craft starts. Instead, it will increase the crit chance on Quality Abilities by up to 25% based on the proportion of quality materials used.

🧙‍♂️ Aether Stones

Venture into a world brimming with magic and mystery, where Aether Stones await discovery and challenge!

These mysterious stones, obtained from the most formidable foes, now play a crucial role in our game. When you defeat creatures, there’s a chance they’ll drop Aether Stones. By interacting with these stones, you unleash an incredible force that floods the battlefield with waves of creatures, and facing these waves is a challenging yet rewarding experience. As you defeat each wave, the stone progressively charges. When the last wave is conquered, the Aether Stone is fully charged and ready to be collected.

However, here’s the intriguing twist: other players may also be interested in the Aether Stones you’ve left behind. They may attempt to steal them from you, adding an element of competition and strategy to the game. This new Aether Stone system adds depth to your journey and offers exciting opportunities for combat and reward. Be prepared to protect your precious stones while also strategically planning when and how to use them to gain the upper hand in your adventure!
https://medium.com/media/1ee4d1d2de72f5020c2b3ad7f8eca94c/href
General Additions & Changes

Below, you will find a concise changelog that outlines several noteworthy additions!

Developer Updates — Closed Beta

Greetings, Adventurers! As we embark on an epic journey towards the Closed Beta, we are thrilled to share a Developer Updates. In this article, let’s dive into the major new features, additions and changes that our team have worked on since the Alpha!

As always, our ultimate goal is to enrich your journey through RavenQuest. Ravencards, Test Token Generation, Production Tiles, Tradepack Priming and Land Claiming are some of these new features you will be able to explore, but we also have several other additions and changes to share.

Time to check what this new chapter of RavenQuest’s development will bring to us!

🎴 Ravencards

We are excited to announce we will now have 192 new fully illustrated Ravencards for RavenQuest! We strongly encourage you to check our Whitepaper or our Medium Articles to know more about what the Ravencards are and how they impact the gameplay!

While Ravencards will be NFTs obtainable through Ravenpacks (which will be available in the Marketplace in the future), during development phases such as the Closed Beta you will be able to receive Ravenpacks and test Ravencards (testing purposes) by following the newly added Quest line named North Star Quests!

If you played during the Alpha, you will need to level up to be able to interact with them.

Each Ravenpack will give you 5 random Ravencards, and each card has 7 possible rarities (Common, Uncommon, Grand, Rare, Arcane, Mythic and Legendary) that you can equip into your skills to further customize your build!

Become a Landowner and start your journey as a Ravencard Collector!

🪙 Test Token Generation

Nearly all activities in the world of RavenQuest will reward you with Gold, a coin to measure your and the community’s impact in the game’s economy.

This Gold will be converted into $SBT every 24 hours! To better illustrate, here’s a quick example of how it will work during the Closed Beta:

The total amount of Gold generated in the gameworld in 24 hours was 10.
The total amount of Gold you generated during that period was 1.

You were responsible for 10% of the total Gold generated in that period.
You will receive 10% of the pool of $SBT designated to that period.

We have just released a new page in the Account Panel that will allow you to check your progress through the Beta:

👉 RavenQuest Account Panel — Wallet

On the Wallet Page (Beta), you will be able to check your $SBT balance, your Vested Tokens, as well as the amount of Gold converted in the latest swap. As you play RavenQuest and actively participate in the game’s economy, you will witness firsthand how it is truly player-driven!

During the Beta, we will display information regarding the Test Sunbreak Token, a test Token that is in place primarily for testing purposes. Test SBTs obtained during the Beta will be reset for the Official Release.

🌾 Production Tiles & Tradepack Priming

YES! You will be able to test the Production Tiles and Tradepack Priming during the Closed Beta. It’s time for you to discover the true impact of your land in the game’s economy!

Instead of having giant plots of land in a gameworld filled with empty spaces just to accommodate all these plots (as many games do), we decided to keep the world of RavenQuest much more dynamic, alive and dense — and this is where Production Tiles come into play!

While each size of land have their own and set amount of tiles, the Production Tiles is what defines the capability of each tile producing fruits, vegetables, livestock, lumber & more.

Tiles on Medium Estates, Large Estates, Strongholds and Forts produce higher yield crops and livestock than the predecessors, for example.

More than that, all Lands will now allow for a set amount of Tradepack Priming per week! Understanding how it works is very simple: Priming a Tradepack doubles its Gold yield, so you can earn more $SBT for a lower amount of resources by selling it!

In-Game: Priming a Tradepack adds a Legendary border (red) to it.

Check all the Land Perks (Production Tiles & Tradepack Priming) here.

🏡 Land Claiming

Yes, it’s time to claim your own plot of land in-game 🤗

We just enabled Land Claiming on the website! If you are a Landowner, you can now go to your Panel and choose the position of your land in-game, whether in Rohna Woods, Sajecho Island, Glaceforde & more!

Check the Step by Step video below to understand how it works and claim your own plot of land for your new adventure within RavenQuest!
https://medium.com/media/d952ab836cd040166cbfd8593e31c395/href
This time, claiming a land is a Beta Test for everyone to understand how it works. All the plots will be reset for the Official Release, at which point we will also have land claiming divided into rounds according to Land Sales.

Due to the Land Claiming process, all lands from Alpha will be reset.

Now that you have seen all the news regarding the NFT & Blockchain features, how about checking out the major game additions and changes since the Alpha?

🆕 Additions

Added Voice Acting to the Tutorial NPCs
Added a tax for Crafting ー The tax will be equivalent to 6% of the crafted item’s experience
Added creature drops on T4 and T5 recipes ー Weaving, Carpentry and Blacksmithing
Added a Massive Map Expansion ー Crowhollow Bog, Zephyr Vale & Hadarak Desert
Added the Rangers Company System ー Check the Article here
Added the Effort System ー Check the Article here
Added the New Reputation System — Check the Article here
Added a New Attribute (Vitality) — Provides Maximum Health, Health Regeneration, Spell Defense & Weapon Defense
Added North Star Quests ー A new set/type of Quests that provide players with straightforward objectives within the game.

After extensive playtesting and considering valuable feedback from players, we made the decision to revamp the current Attributes hardcap system with the main goal to make it much easier to balance and, most importantly, simpler to understand. Let’s check out how the new system looks like?

Simplifying Complexity, Embracing Intuitiveness

The old Attributes hardcap, while functional, was definitely counterintuitive. Players often found themselves confused when designing their builds because, at certain points of character progression, item-derived stats could actually weaken a character instead of making them stronger. This took away the sense of progression and the feeling of increased power, which we consider essential to our design philosophy. Thus, we made the important decision to create a brand new and entirely intuitive system.

In short, we will no longer have a hardcap. Instead, we will be implementing a softcap system to manage character power progression. This means that attributes and even stats redistribution will no longer have a limit. The previous limitation mechanic is being replaced by a new multiplicative formula that ensures diminishing returns during the player’s experience in the smoothest way possible.

For those of you who are more mathematically inclined (or just really hardcore adventurers), here’s the new formula:

SOFTCAP = EFFECTIVE LEVEL * MULTIPLIER
MULTIPLIER = 6 (note that the multiplier’s value may change in the future)

Even a Limit Needs Limits

Another crucial aspect of this change is that the softcap will be applied individually to each of the Secondary Attributes. Let’s use physical prowess as an example for those who enjoy overcoming enemies in the world of Ravendawn: the softcap will not directly influence your AP or Might, but instead, it will be applied to Weapon Power. This aspect distinguishes our new approach from the old hardcap, which affected all Attributes collectively during the process.

In-Game Screenshot: Highlighted columns will always display the total amount.

Now, you may be wondering how diminishing returns will affect character progression. For every 1 Attribute/Stat above the softcap, the extra point’s relevance will be reduced. This reduction will be applied for every additional point exceeding the softcap and will stack based on the number of points added above the cap. It’s important to note that there will also be a limit for the diminishing returns themselves, so you won’t experience 100% hardcaps anymore.

In-Game Screenshot: Highlighted column will always display the softcap, considering diminishing returns.

To illustrate, here’s a quick example:

Level = X
Softcap = Y
Reduction per Point = Z

While increasing your stats from 0 to “Y”, its multipliers will act with 100% efficiency. After reaching “Y”, multipliers will start to give diminishing returns, so:

Assuming that “Z” = 0.2

1 Point Above Y: this point’s multipliers will have their efficiency reduced by 0.2.
2 Points Above Y: this point’s multipliers will have their efficiency reduced by 0.4.
3 Points Above Y: this point’s multipliers will have their efficiency reduced by 0.6.

So, these three points will be worth (0.8 + 0.6 + 0.4) = 1.8 when considering their multipliers.

Sources of Power

Lastly, this new approach will consider every single source of Attributes/Stats towards the softcap. This means that buffs, rings, trinkets, enchantments, and any other sources of power available in the world of Ravendawn will contribute to the softcap. This ensures balance and provides a smooth progression experience with individualized capping of character parameters.

Despite the technical nature of this DevBlog, we firmly believe that absolute transparency regarding the changes we make to the game is crucial for the success and longevity of Ravendawn. We sincerely hope that you enjoy the recent changes and that they enhance your overall experience in the upcoming phases.

We look forward to sharing more updates in the next articles!

Welcome, Adventurer!

Some of you have already ventured into RavenQuest during the Alpha, and have certainly interacted with NPCs around the world, gaining Reputation based on your answers!

As we are getting closer and closer to the Closed Beta, we are happy to share the new Reputation System that is coming to RavenQuest! Starting from the Closed Beta on June 27th, you will be able to venture out with a much more dynamic Reputation System! Let’s check out the reasons that led us to make changes to this system and how it turned out after the revamp?

The Reasons Behind the Reformulation

The decision to make an overhaul of the old Reputation System came from two fundamental sources: player feedback and the nature of our core game design beliefs. Setting aside the rigidity of following a specific Reputation path, players felt misguided or frustrated when frequently faced with two significant and sometimes conflicting choices: selecting an advantage for the sake of the lore or for pure character progression.

Through internal tests and community feedback, we realized that the system was designed in a way that often conflicted with the freedom we always want to promote in the gameplay, whether in terms of narrative or in terms of character customization. In order to maintain both aspects within the Reputation System, we felt that a rework was necessary.

As you all know, the old design had three different and predetermined paths to be followed (Order, Mercenary and Criminal), where the points gained from interactions throughout the world were divided and had to be spent into the same path to reach higher tiers with progressively better perks.

The new Reputation system will have a more horizontal perks tree instead of completely dividing the paths, and you will now be able to choose the perks that best suit you while also selecting dialogue options that align with your roleplay style. This is possible due to a new cumulative score that combines points from the three existing Reputation paths that are obtained through dialogues and interactions. In short, you will never be prevented from choosing a specific perk just because you didn’t want to follow a specific Reputation path, which fulfills the goal of the reformulation. Let’s check out more details of the new Reputation System?

The New Reputation System

In-Game Screenshot: New Reputation Tree

The core of the new Reputation System is structured around your total Reputation points, which means that the total amount of Reputation points (be it Order, Mercenary or Criminal) obtained during your adventure is what matters at the end of the day. These points will be used not only to purchase the desired perks but also to enable interactions with several NPCs scattered throughout the world that grant various benefits, such as the acquisition of land deeds to claim your plot of land in the world of Ravendawn and powerful enchantments to boast your combat prowess.

Yes, Reputation NPCs will not be locked into specific Reputation paths anymore: the interactions will be available as soon as the player reaches a certain total amount of Reputation points obtained through their journey.

To improve the overall gaming experience in different areas of the game, such as combat, economy, movement, crafting and more, perks will now be divided into 7 different tiers. You will be able to spend your Reputation points on the first level, and in order to choose a higher-level perk, you will need to proportionally have at least one perk at the previous tier.

In-Game Screenshot: New Reputation Tree with Active Perks

For example: In order to choose 1 perk at Tier 5 (Reputation Tree), you must have at least 1 Tier 4 perk. To choose 3 Tier 5 perks, you must have at least 3 Tier 4 perks. To choose 3 Tier 4 perks, you must have at least 3 Tier 3 perks, and so on.

Now… We know you must be wondering what the difference will be between choosing different dialogue options and whether the different Reputation paths will still have any impact within the game. And of course that we’ll make sure that you will still be able to become an orderly knight, a known mercenary or a ruthless criminal in the world of RavenQuest. We are preparing some cool features for the near future to keep the roleplay alive and to give a new and meaningful purpose to your alignment choices without taking the freedom of character building that our team strives so much to sustain from the very beginning!

Reputation will still be rewarded upon completing Story Quests and engaging in dialogues with NPCs around the world. However, we will also have a completely new source of Reputation points for those who are natural explorers, but we will have that as a surprise for the upcoming articles…

We are feeling very confident with these last game design choices that we made, mainly because they were taken having player feedback as one of its solid bases. We look forward to the upcoming Closed Beta to see how many new ways of building a character our community will come up with!

If you played the Alpha and you are wondering if your Reputation level will be reset, don’t worry: no progress has been lost or reset.

With the revamp, the Achievements and the progression in-game were adapted and recalculated based on how much Reputation you had at the end of Alpha.

👑 Become a Landowner and start exploring the new Reputation System and its new perks on June 27th!

Building a strong and large community is essential to a great MMORPG to thrive, and having a completely F2P model is one of our cornerstones to achieving that.

Landowners have a multitude of exclusive benefits with their own land, but it’s important that anyone feels part of the game’s ecosystem, including non-Landowners — and this where the Community Land come into play! While some Adventurers already had contact with it during the Alpha, let’s take a look at what it is and how the new Effort System (being added for the Closed Beta) interacts with it?!

🌾 Community Land

The Community Land is an instanced plot of land located in Ravencrest that allows for all non-Landowners to enjoy part of the benefits of land ownership.

In the Community Land, you will be able to engage in activities related to Farming, allowing you to plant your own crop, grow your own animals and collect resources from it. This also makes it possible for non-Landowners to contribute with RavenQuest’s economy cycles.

The Community Land starts with 16 tiles and can be upgraded up to 49 tiles as the player progresses in the game. Differently from individual land, Community Land doesn’t allow for house construction, nor does it have benefits like Rooms, Production Tiles, Tradepack Priming and Workers.

In-Game Screenshot: Community Land

To maintain a land of prosperity with a fair, well balanced and enjoyable gameplay experience, we are excited to introduce the Effort System for RavenQuest, a new feature that will allow for non-Landowners to progress and continue to use the Community Land as they gain experience, without imposing other limitations to the gameplay.

💪 Hard Work Always Pay Off

Effort is an in-game resource that will be required alongside the usual ones when undertaking any activity on Community Land. Acquiring Effort is simple: you will be rewarded Effort Points for activities you would normally engage in, such as defeating creatures, completing Quests, Open-World Gathering, Fishing, among others. every activity undertaken while exploring the world of RavenQuest will award you with Effort Points, making it a relatively effortless process!

The rule for how much Effort you earn while adventuring is quite simple: for every 100 Experience Points gained from the many possible activities available throughout the game, you’ll be awarded 1 Effort Point.

The amount of Effort required to take Community Land activities is also meant to be fair, varying from 1 (Potatoes) to 900 (Medium Cow Pen) Points. This means that if you are a dedicated player engaged in partaking in activities to evolve your character, your Community Land will always keep up with this growth! In the image below, you can see where the Effort Points required (symbolized with 💪) are displayed in the interface!

In-Game Screenshot: House Editor @ Community Land

There will also be a limit as to how much Effort a single character can have at any given time. Starting with 400 Points, the Effort cap will grow by an additional 400 points each time players unlock more space in their Community Land (Level 15, 25, and 35), to a total limit of 1600 Points!

Effort costs that will be charged alongside the usual Silver fees will always be displayed to players and, at least for the time being, Effort will be charged only on Community Land actions. Individual house Lands and their activities will not be involved.

Gear up, Adventurer… The Closed Beta is coming!

👑 Become a Landowner and play on June 27th!

🧙 Join our Discord to stay always up to date about news!
