First of all, what is Scholarz Candidates? Scholarz Candidates is the second collection in our ecosystem after Scholarz Genesis. Remember when we had Aliens and Humanoids in Scholarz Genesis? Scholarz Candidates now will have Human and Pongo as your new options for your PFP. What else is the difference between the Scholarz Genesis and Scholarz Candidates? Scholarz Genesis is the key to activate our ecosystem where you will need Genesis to activate your land and earn $EXP in a more passive way such as spending 1 min every weekday in doing homework, check-in/Skoolvote, and earning endowment fund from your upgraded house.

Now what about Scholarz Candidates?

Scholarz Candidates will be the key to our active earning from play and earn and learn and earn ecosystem.

• Play and earn. As we have discussed in our whitepaper about our vision (yes some info there need to be updated to reflect some changes we made during 2022, but most of it is still true), we are building mini games for our play and earn ecosystem which will be the first mini game, and it is almost ready to launch (we are in testing and final debugging process). More details of the mini game and the play and earn will be released once we are closer to the release of the mini game.
• Learn and earn. Besides our mini games, we are also building our learn and earn ecosystem which we have prepared 3 modules consisting of 30 chapters each for our first learn and earn. These modules will cover topics such as Cryptocurrency, NFTs and Technical analysis which we hope these first 3 modules will be relevant to our holders and helping new people understand about these 3 topics.

Now let’s dig deeper about it. What is the role of Candidates in each of our ecosystems?

When we release our mini game, initially, only Candidates can play the game and earn from it. The game will be free for all to play but you can only earn $EXP if you hold Candidates.

Okay I did say “initially”? Why? Because we’re planning to have Mini Scholarz. Let’s dig a bit more about Mini Scholarz too.

The Mini Scholarz will be a way for you to give scholarship to non-holder to earn in our ecosystem via learn and earn or play and earn. Mini Scholarz can only be produced by Scholarz Candidates using $EXP and have limited lifetime. You can set the percentage of earning you want to share to your scholarship. This percentage you’ll need to decide before giving out the scholarship and cannot be changed until the end of the Mini Scholarz lifetime.

In the long run, these Scholarz Candidates could give more yield than the Scholarz Genesis, from active involvement in the ecosystem, both from playing and learning by yourself or by providing Mini Scholarz to others but Scholarz Genesis will still always be the key to unlocking our ecosystem.

Similar to the play and earn, you’ll need either Scholarz Candidates or Mini Scholarz to earn in our learn and earn ecosystem.

To mint your Scholarz Candidates, first you need to burn $EXP to roll each body part. Each part will have a different cost:
1. Body 500 $EXP
2. Eyes 170 $EXP
3. Mouth 170 $EXP
4. Headgear 250 $EXP
5. Suits 250 $EXP
6. Background is free, and randomly assigned when minting .

To mint a Scholarz Candidates, you will need at least a body, eyes and mouth. Suits and headgears are optional and background will be randomly assigned when minting the Scholarz Candidates. So the minimum you would spend for mandatory parts would be 840 $EXP. But hey, the good news is, the first roll for each part in your new lab would be FREE!

And there would be an option to burn the parts too if you don’t like it to get a 50% $EXP refund. There is a limit on how many parts you can hold in one Lab, so building more Lab will help you to store more parts. You will also be able to sell the unwanted or maybe a rare part in our marketplace for $EXP, later on. (read our Laboratory medium post for more details on this).

After selecting your preferred combinations of Scholarz Candidates, you will be able to mint them during the early weeks of February 2023. The mint will be opened to holders and also to the public. The public will incur a slightly higher $EXP cost and random parts will be assigned for the public mint of Scholarz Candidates.

For now, you can only roll the body parts, as the minting into candidates will come a few weeks later. Body parts are offchain, and will be onchain when you mint it to Scholarz Candidates. When the minting is open, it will be first come first serve, so when a combination is minted, you cannot mint using the exact same combination (we have a tool to check this), so there won’t be 2 exact same Scholarz Candidates. Scholarz Candidates will be limited to 7,500 total supply, so it won’t be an instant mint out. But the early bird will get a chance to mint the combination they want. Now you know about the importance of Scholarz Candidates, go to Lab and create your own Scholarz Candidates!

Remember Skoolverse? Have you upgraded your lands and built your houses? It is time for another structure: Laboratory.

This medium post will tell you all about it: what is laboratory, what it does, and how to build one.

What is laboratory?

Laboratory is the 2nd structure in Skoolverse. Just like any other laboratory, you can build stuff and run experiments. But, what kind of stuff you can build here?

What does it do?

Remember Scholarz Candidates? This is the 2nd collection of Scholarz, after Genesis. We are going to launch this collection in a few weeks, but it is not going to be a direct mint.

In order to mint a Candidate, you need to gather all necessary parts. There will be 6 traits, 3 of them are mandatory to create a Candidate, 2 is optional, and 1 is randomly assigned.

Laboratory allows you to choose a trait and create a random part of that trait using some $EXP. It also acts as a storage to keep the parts you have created. You can burn these parts or sell them to other users for some $EXP in our marketplace, especially if you get unwanted or duplicate parts.

If your laboratory is full, you cannot create another part. You need to upgrade your laboratory or build additional laboratory on another land.

Parts are tied to laboratory. If you sell a land with laboratory, you will lose all parts stored inside the laboratory.

You can only create parts in active laboratories, just like active houses with endowment funds. Similarly, only parts in active laboratories are usable (e.g. can be used to craft a candidate).

How to build one?

Building any structure requires a space on your land. To increase the space of your land, you need to increase its level.

• Level 0 land has 0 space, you can’t build any structure
• Level 1 land has 1 space, you can build either a house or a laboratory
• Level 2 land has 2 spaces, allows you to build both house and laboratory

You can only build one of each structure on each land.

But why do we need a Candidate? What can it be used for?

Having a Scholarz Candidate gives you access to our upcoming learning and gaming platform. There is also the concept of scholarship which requires Candidates at its core. More details about this will be revealed later.

There will be some time for you to accumulate $EXP to build laboratory before this update goes live, so it would be wise to start saving up from now. You can start building laboratory after our land UI revamp goes live, which should be ready in a few days.

Introducing our newest homework, Skoolvote. This will replace the old attendance homework. Do you want to hear about others’ opinion about a topic in particular? Ask away!

How does it work?

There are 3 menu: Daily, My List, and Create

Daily shows the list of today’s Skoolvotes you can do to obtain $EXP. The amount of $EXP you get is the same as attendance.

You can create your own Skoolvote by clicking the green Submit button or going to the Create tab.

Input your question and options here:

You can choose when to submit your Skoolvote. You can choose only weekdays. The amount of required EXP will vary based on the number of Skoolvotes on that day, starting from 10 $EXP. If there are less than 6 Skoolvotes on that day, it will cost 10 $EXP. After that, it will cost 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 $EXP. There can be at most 10 Skoolvotes in a day.

After you submit, you can see your submitted Skoolvotes on My List tab (or edit them). You can also view your past Skoolvotes on the history tab.

You can start doing Skoolvote starting Monday, August 22nd.

We also have a new dashboard design, about time we stop using the old plain design. We have only done the Profile section so far, more will come on the next update. We hope you like it!

Hello Scholarz!

It’s been a while since our last update, and we think this would be a good time to release our marketplace. Please read this medium post before you purchase anything on our marketplace.

So, what is this marketplace all about?

• It sells items (NFTs/whitelist spots) and takes payment in $EXP
• It operates off-chain, so no gas at all — except when you need to claim an NFT
• It allows 5 types of payment: normal, raffle tickets, auction, dutch auction, and blind bidding
• It has the capacity to onboard other projects and their native tokens to be used as payment
• Supports multi-currency payment if necessary

Let’s take a quick tour!

On the home page, you can find recently added items, along with the mini details about the item. You can connect your discord to your wallet by clicking on the discord icon at the bottom left. (Twitter integration is not working yet)

The marketplace is currently hosting 1 project which is Scholarz. The items in Public section can be purchased by both holders and non-holders, but the items on Scholarz section can only be purchased by holders.

There are 3 tabs:

• Active: Items that are up and running
• Upcoming: Items that are about to come soon
• Past: Items that have expired or sold out

You can click on the item to find out more details about the item, and who purchased/won the item:

On the account tab, you can check your balances, claim your items, and check your purchase logs. You can see your account info here.

The inventory tab shows all the items you have purchased so far, they are separated into 2 categories: unclaimed and claimed. Please make a habit to always claim your item after you purchased them (or after a raffle has finished) so you can be sure about the wallet address & Discord ID you want to receive the item, although if you don’t, your wallet address and connected Discord will be assigned by default. You can assign other wallet address when you’re claiming the item.

The log tab shows your purchase logs.

That’s all about the marketplace, we think it will solve most problems that are currently happening on discord such as wallets not having EXP, people having the wrong roles, and eliminates manual work such as having to include winner addresses.

(Also please be noted, if you need to deposit $EXP from on-chain to off-chain through our dashboard it would have 15 minutes delay, so time your deposit right if you want to bid or join the raffle on last minute)

Introduction

EXP Shop is a gacha system where you can spend some EXP for a chance to win an NFT from our partner projects. These NFTs were bought using the sell tax of our token $EXP. You can view the list of NFTs here.

Getting started

• Head over to Scholarz Dashboard and click on `EXP Shop`
• On the top bar, there will be 3 icons: Cube, EXP and Roll a Rubick

• Cube: This is what you get if you fail to land on any NFTs. You can get either 10, 5, 3, 2, or 1 cube. You can get a free roll for 27 cubes.
• $EXP: You need 10 $EXP to start a roll. If you have enough cubes and $EXP, the cubes will be taken first.
• Roll: Clicking on this button will show you a modal with 3 options, 1, 5, and 10 rolls.
• Inventory: This is a tab to see the NFTs you have won. You can claim them anytime after you won.
• Tiers: See below.

• In this collection we will also introduce 13 new unique traits, full body suit with theme of Cat, Ape, Kingkong, Kaiju, Godzilla, Bear, Bean Farmer, Doodling Boy, Duck, Mice, Unicorn, Kumo and even Kevin, which will be replacing your head accessories and outfit traits, only if you are willing to add 100 $EXP more to test your luck on a chance for a new trait to your Scholarz. By total you will need $EXP 750 if you want to mint one Pixel Scholarz plus a chance to roll the new traits. Same as Land, you will be able to check whether a pixel has been claimed or not by each token ID.
• Pixel Scholarz collection will be limited to 1,033 collection not only because it was the first minted numbers when we launched Scholarz Genesis but also to give a freedom for you, Scholarz Genesis holders to choose your favorite Scholarz to fulfill the 2D metaverse experience. You may have only one or even more of the pixelated version you need by your choice.
• The integration to metaverse would be available at minimum couple weeks after the Pixel Scholarz are fully minted out. We will share more detail about this.

For the last 3 weeks we have been working on expanding the Scholarz ecosystem. This medium post will tell you a summary about our scheduled update today:

1. Activation
2. Upgrade
3. $EXP ERC20 Contract
4. Bridge
5. Endowment fund

Previously, we have mentioned that Skoolverse is going to be the center of our ecosystem. You can assign your Scholarz to work on your land. But, what comes next? After 2 weeks, it is time to reap the results. You can activate your lands.

What does an active land do? Active land is one of the requirements to access our endowment fund. We will talk more about it later.

When you first receive your land, it is empty. Now, you can upgrade them. Upgrading land allows you to unlock new structures and utilities.

How does the upgrade system work?
You start with level 0 land. You have to spend some $EXP to start upgrading. This process will take time. Once finished, you can click on the Finish button to gain a new level.
When you gain a new level on your land, you unlock a new level 0 structure. You have to upgrade the structure to level 1 for it to start working.
These properties will appear as traits on your Skoolverse NFT.

The first structure is called “house”. You need to have a level 1 house built on an active land to access endowment fund.

We have also deployed our ERC20 EXP contract along with the bridge to transfer your EXP tokens both ways. You can convert your EXP to ERC20 tokens and vice versa, also called claim and deposit.
You can claim once every 2 days, and there will be a small fee of 10 $EXP to perform this transaction.

We will create a liquidity pool for $EXP starting at around $0.1 per EXP that allows swaps between EXP and ETH. Liquidity pool will be targeted to be opened around 5 March 2022 at 3:00 PM UTC. Do not miss it.

For every buy transaction, 10% of the $EXP will be burn and returned to stakers via Endowment Fund distribution.
For every other transactions (sell and transfer), there is a 10% ETH tax that goes to 3 wallets: 5% goes to buyback wallet, 4% goes to EXP shop, and 1% goes to team. More details about EXP shop will be announced at a later date.

What is endowment fund?

Endowment fund is a pool of buy tax that will be distributed pro rata based on the weight of each active lands.

Let’s look at each terminology:

• Global Fund
  This is all the buy tax that goes in and all the manual purchase we will make. This amount updates every hour.
• Daily Distribution
  We take 5% of our current global fund and divide this amount by 24 to distribute hourly. We will increase this percentage periodically.
• Total Weight
  This is the amount of lands with level 1 house. Level 2 house will count as 2 weight, but is not currently available yet.
• Amount to claim
  This amount starts accumulating once you have a level 1 house built on an active land.

As stated in our previous Medium article here (please read if you have not and re-read it to understand the importance), land is the key to unlock your Scholarz potential in our ecosystem. This post will touch on a few technical details about land release.

Claiming your land will work the same way as minting Scholarz. You will have 30 minutes to sign the transaction, otherwise, you will have to wait until the backend resets your request.

Once you have a land, you can stake by dragging your Scholarz to any of the land you have. Your Scholarz will be locked inside your land, but the land can still be traded.

If the land ownership changes, your Scholarz will no longer receive the benefits of staking. Technically, it is still stacked, so you will have to unstake first in order to stake your Scholarz on another land.

While staking, Scholarz can still do homework for the same amount of $EXP.

You can view your land status on the ‘Status’ tab. This consists of a summary about which land is available or occupied.

This update covers land claim and staking. Next, we will release land activation and upgrades. Currently, the metadata for land is not available. It will be released along with land upgrades.

So we have been promising juicy updates and today, we would like to share in details what the team has been cooking in the last 2 weeks.

SKOOLVERSE LAND

Land will be the latest addition to Scholarz growing ecosystem, in order to sustain the future Play-and-earn & Learn-and-earn concept. Land will also be an important element in building greater ownership by our community toward our project, let alone being part of $EXP tokenomics.

Our commitment to always bring value to Scholarz community, especially holders, will stay true even for the release for Skoolverse Land. We will release up to 2,500 lands as free claims that are tied to every Scholarz Genesis. In other words, if you have a Scholarz, you can claim a Skoolverse Land, which is a standalone NFT collection created by Scholarz team, at no additional cost other than gas.

What can you do with your land, you ask? What we mean by “building greater ownership by our community toward our project” is literal. So, by owning a land, you can own a portion of Scholarz ecosystem:

1. Endowment fund → Read further to understand
2. Classroom tax → A portion of tax taken from whoever earns $EXP from learning via Scholarz Classroom
3. Playground tax → A portion of tax taken from whoever earns $EXP from playing mini games in Scholarz Playground
4. Battleground tax→ A portion of tax taken from whoever earns $EXP from [Redacted] in Scholarz Battleground

There will be some steps involved though and this will show how Scholarz Genesis will play the most important part in the ecosystem:

1. Each Genesis Scholarz is eligible to claim a land.
2. Each land will be able to host 1 of any Scholarz you have via staking mechanism
3. For a land to start working, it must be active. That means, a Scholarz must be there doing work for at least 2 weeks.
4. Each land will have level upgrades. The more developed a land is, the more structures can be built, resulting in more utilities. This goes without saying, but upgrades only work on active lands.
5. Land can be listed and sold, whether it has a tenant or empty. Technically, only the tenant is locked.
6. Whenever an owner of active land changes due to transfer or sale, the land must be reactivated again per point number 3. However, all upgrades remain intact.
7. Structures can be upgraded too. The higher level the structure, the better utility it gives. First structure that will be launched is Level 1 House (where your piggybank will be) which will cost you some $EXP to build

Over time, we will release new structures with new functions and upgrades for you to play around with your land.

$EXP Token & Tokenomics

A lot of you might have been wondering about what is next for $EXP. Experience token ($EXP) is Scholarz utility token that we have been collecting by doing homeworks and discord activities in order to mint remaining Scholarz Genesis until full collection of 2,500 is minted out.

So far, we have been distributing up to 250,000 EXP per day during weekdays (Mon-Fri) for Scholarz holders who do their homework (read about homework here). At the moment, $EXP only utility is to mint Scholarz Genesis for 6,000 cost per mint + gas fees. EXP that we have been distributing so far is also in form of backend token and not tradable anywhere. Soon enough, we will release smart contract for $EXP and liquidity for $EXP/$ETH pair will be provided by team members (also will be supported by our whales) so you can buy / sell your hardly earned token via DEX(s).

On this occasion, we would also like to share more details about $EXP:

1. A maximum of 250,000 $EXP will be minted every weekdays, distributed across homeworks in the beginning, but will be further spread across Classroom/Playground/Battleground in the future.
2. There will be no cap for the supply, but expect 90–95% burn target for the token.
3. Liquidity will be started at $0.1
4. There will be 10% buy tax for every purchase that will be burned. Example: when you buy 1000 EXP, you will receive 900 EXP and 100 will be burned.
5. There will be 10% sell tax for every sale that will be going to treasury, where 50% will go to Endowment Fund, 40% will go to EXP Shop Fund that aims to further reward our holders, and 10% will go to team development budget.
   Example: when you sell EXP and get 1 ETH, 0.1 will go to treasury where 0.05 will be directed for Endowment Fund, 0.04 for EXP Shop Fund, and 0.01 for team development budget.
6. The first structure available in your Skoolverse Land would be Level 1 House. Your L1 House will provide you proportional ownership to Scholarz Endowment Fund which will be filled by burn recovery reward and $EXP sell tax.
   Example: Say 100 people have staked L1 House and Endowment Fund has 10,000 $EXP and 10 $ETH. By distribution time, each house will receive 100 $EXP and 0.1 $ETH. Details about burn recovery, distribution method, and other related mechanics will be shared in the next update close to the release.

In the future, more $EXP burn mechanism will be introduced which includes but not limited to new structures and structure upgrades, microtransaction fees, Scholarz Candidates crafting, and etc. We constantly tinker with our roadmap and adapt with what is needed and wanted by the community, so nothing will ever be set in stones until released.

When will we launch land and $EXP?

Land is targeted to be released by end of this month and must predate $EXP launch.

$EXP smart contract is targeted to be released mid February.

We have launched an update to our dashboard. Tired of doing trivia? Questions are not good / challenging enough? Now you can submit your own trivia as part of the homework. You need to have at least 1 Genesis Scholarz to do this.

Couple of things we look for in your submissions:
1. Context — general knowledge, non-trivial stuff, things that might be worth knowing about

2. Correctness — we try to fact check all the submissions, but if we miss, please remind us and we will correct them manually

3. Spell check — less important, but please be aware that we have to fix typos manually and this requires significant amount of work.

You have 24 hours to submit your trivia. Then, we will verify your submissions manually for the next 24 hours. At the end of the day, accepted submissions will receive 500 EXP.

Please keep in mind that this homework will not be necessarily available every week, in case we need to pause this for a while.
