• On the ‘My Profile’ page, locate and click the ‘CrossChain’ button right beside your domain.

Step 2: Ensure Sufficient Gas Funds & Approve Transaction

• After clicking the ‘CrossChain’ button, you will be prompted to approve the transaction.
• Ensure that you have enough funds for gas fees to execute the cross-chain transaction and click the ‘Approve’ button to proceed.

Step 3: Confirm Transaction

• Click the ‘Confirm’ button to finalize the process.

Step 4: Wait for Confirmation

• If the message ‘Crosschain transaction sent successfully’ is displayed, please wait about 30 minutes.
• Tips: You can check the status of crosschain transactions by clicking the Axelar logo in the ‘Details’ page of your domain in its explorer.

Step 5: Status checking

• In Process: If you see the animation as shown in the following image, it indicates that the cross-chain transaction is in progress.

• Success: You will notice an ‘OP’ logo appearing next to your domain name, indicating that the crosschain transaction is successful.

• Fail: There is neither animation nor ‘OP’ logo shown beside your domain.

🚀 Time for OMNICHAIN! Star has seamlessly integrated the cross-chain messaging protocol LayerZero after several weeks of development and testing. This allows users to use the same domain name across 25 blockchain networks, eliminating the need to purchase additional domain names on different blockchain networks.

In this tutorial, we will make an example to guide you through the step-by-step process of using this feature to cross a .base domain from Base Mainnet to Linea Mainnet!

Step1: Connecting to Your Wallet

• Please enter https://basens.domains/ and proceed by clicking “Launch App”
• Ensure your network is connected to the Base Mainnet. (You could check this documentation to add Base Mainnet to your wallet: http://docs.base.org/using-base/)
• Then, connect to the wallet that you already have a .base domain and want to utilize the cross-chain feature (If you don’t have .base domain name, please check this tutorial for the registration: https://star-protocol.medium.com/instruction-for-registering-base-name-service-on-the-mainnet-a3f84b6a0af8)

Step2: Managing Your Domain Name

• Click “My Profile” to view all .base domain names you have.

Step3: Cross-chain the Domain

• Select & click on the .base domain name that you want to cross its chain.
• Switch to the “Details” page of this domain name, click on the “CrossChain” button.

Step4: Transfer Your Domain From Base to Linea

• Choose the network you want to bridge to (like Linea).
• Click the “Approve” button to confirm it. (Please notice that you must have sufficient funds in your wallet’s balance on Base Network).

After confirmation, please click the “Crosschain” button to transfer your domain. (Tips: the fees for cross-chain transactions vary on different networks. You must make sure that your wallet balance on each network is sufficient; otherwise, the transaction cannot be initiated).

Step6: Check Your Domain Name’s Status

• After covering the gas fee, ensure that your .base domain name shows the status “Currently on Linea Mainnet blockchain” . Please be aware that the final waiting time may vary based on the traffic of the target cross-chain network.
• If you want to check out more details, please click on the “Linea” icon. You’ll be redirected to the Linea Explorer to check the cross-chain status of your domain name.

🗒 Here are some important tips for you when you want to use the Crosschain function, please read carefully:

• The gas fees for cross-chain vary from time to time. Please be aware of it.
• If the domain name cannot be cross-chained directly, you can first cross-chain to the Arbitrum Network and then cross-chain to the target Network.
