GALAXY AI IS COMING!

Samsung has announced its brand new “Galaxy AI” and they are hyping it up through statements like“A new era of mobile AI.”

It will be first seen on Galaxy S24 series smartphones and they are promising “an all-new mobile experience powered by AI.”

Now they are not the first ones to enter the AI market, you must have already heard names like ChatGPT and Bard. So what can we expect from Galaxy AI?

To be honest we don’t have a clear idea yet but we have seen Google with their Pixel phones using in-build AI features like speech-to-text in recorders, erasing unwanted objects from images, and many more. We can expect these features from Galaxy AI too but will they perform better than Google’s?

But we already have many third-party websites and apps through which we can already use all of these features and more so why are they doing this? Well, one of the main advantages of in-build AI will be not depending on the internet to use these features and with higher speed and accuracy, and it is safer in every aspect compared to third-party apps and websites.

These are not specific to Galaxy AI, it’s true for every other in-build AI phone (Google Pixel). How capable Galaxy AI is would be an interesting discussion after it is released in the next Samsung event, We are going to compare Galaxy AI with its other competitors in the market like Google and Microsoft. However, it takes more than this to fully believe in AI. I mean you remember what Elon Musk said right?

But in the end, it is very important to keep this thing in mind that humans have created AI so we must use it responsibly.

Recently I covered a topic about cloud storage and named that article “Never Ending Storage” Well, now it’s coming to an end at least in the case of WhatsApp.

“Google has announced that WhatsApp backups on Android will start counting towards users' Google account cloud storage limit, with the change rolling out to WhatsApp Beta users in December 2023 and all Android users in early 2024.”

So, YES! Whatsapp is ending its free Google Drive storage. We have been storing so many texts, documents, and pictures for years that it almost feels unreal.

Now, everything will count and will take place in your free 15 GB of cloud storage that Google gives everyone by default, some might think 15 GB is more than enough for us, so let me remind you that this 15 GB storage you will be also using for your Gmail and Google photos. So, Not Enough Right?

WhatsApp Beta app has already started showing the message, “Backups will start using your Google storage in the next few months.”

Maybe Beta users are regretting being Beta users as they are the first ones to know and experience this.

So, is it over? Now we can’t ever back up our chats from our older mobiles to newer mobiles? Most of us just back up all our data in our primary Gmail account and when we log in to our new mobile with that account WhatsApp automatically backs everything up.

Now, what should we do to transfer our older texts and data from our older phone to a new phone?

WhatsApp is still allowing its customers to transfer these files between Android devices. So, if you don’t want to store your chats into your Google account then you can simply use the WhatsApp chat transfer feature when moving to a new Android.

Upgrading to “Google One” has always been an option if you want more than 15 GB of cloud storage.

How many times have you thought of going back in time and trying to re-live those moments that you love or maybe try to change those memories by altering your actions more favorably according to the situation In short, we all dream of having a time machine. Countless Sci-fi movies and series have used the concept of time travel to mess with our minds and we just can't help but watch them because they all are so damn interesting.

Now, let’s discuss this concept of time travel and time machine realistically. I mean to what extent can we believe it?

The one who popularized the concept of a time machine was H.G. Wells through his novel "The Time Machine" which was published in 1895. The idea of a device that could transport a person through time has been a popular plot for science fiction ever since. While there is no known time machine, numerous ideas have been proposed for how it might work, such as using black holes or manipulating the curvature of spacetime.

Too complicated? Well, that is exactly what Time travel is.

Wormholes are a theoretical physics concept that could allow for time travel. They are hypothetical tunnels through spacetime that connect distant points in the universe, and traveling through a wormhole could allow a person to travel through time and space.

So, it's simple, right? Let's all just dive into these wormholes and BOOM “TIME TRAVEL” Um maybe you missed the word “theoretical” in the above para and anyhow it's too early for us to search them as we barely explored all our galaxy yet.

According to the theory of relativity, time dilation occurs as an object approaches the speed of light. This means that time appears to slow down for objects traveling at high speeds relative to those at rest. While this does not allow for traditional time travel, it could allow for traveling into the future. Theoretically, time dilation would make it possible for passengers in a fast-moving vehicle to advance further into the future in a short period of their own time. For sufficiently high speeds, the effect is dramatic. For example, one year of travel might correspond to ten years on Earth. Indeed, a constant 1 g acceleration would permit humans to travel through the entire known Universe in one human lifetime.

And that’s how we can Time Travel (according to my research).

The concept of time travel is quite fascinating and very ambitious, I am not sure if our generation will be able to turn this concept into reality but I hope one day in the future they will make it real.

The smartphone industry is changing so fast that it is scary now.

- 2. Xiaomi tried to take a scoop in the folding phones market.

Now, the ability to fold and unfold into different form factors is incredible on its own so you got the appeal of it but are we sacrificing function over form?

Now that’s a real question. I think the answer is Yes (for now) because the concept of folding phones is still new so even companies don’t have a clear idea yet as to what to do with so much extra screen area. Samsung released its 5th generation of folding phones. Yet, the outer screen has a weird aspect ratio and the crease on the inner screen is quite annoying (though other brands like Oppo and Tecno almost fixed that problem in their 1st generation). The concept being new, the software for foldables still needs work to put in. Very few folding phones like Samsung and Oneplus have good software apart from that well there is nothing to say much others are just bad. Xiaomi has the best hardware they are trying everything to make their folding phones good but the lack of good software caught up to them.

The Hinge is a very big issue too, A solid hinge is very much needed in a foldable phone or it won’t take long to fall apart.

After all of this Pricing is the biggest problem, Folding phones are just too damn expensive for what they are offering. Yes, the companies are asking a premium for the form and software and a fresh smartphone experience (if you got bored with slab phones) which is justified but with foldables, you are getting a weaker battery, weaker cameras, fragile display, the crease and maybe a phone which is more prone to damage by water and if you dropped it by mistake just hope that you have built a house with pillows.

So in my opinion, if you are filthy rich and you want to experience a smartphone that is different from the rest then yes go and buy a foldable phone but if you prioritize function over form then I will ask you to wait a few more years, let the companies fix those problems I mentioned and hopefully reduce the price too.

Electric vehicles are on the boom and Tesla is leading the pack with its electric cars now the rumors are that they are coming to India.

Now that’s too sudden and too big to digest so what exactly is going on?

In the year 2024, Tesla is poised to establish its car manufacturing plant in Gujarat though nothing is officially confirmed yet, there is a chance that they are going to officially announce it in the presence of Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the vibrant Gujarat summit in January.

Why in Gujarat?

Well, for years Gujarat has been a strategic location for the business environment and we can’t forget that even Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing unit is placed in this state only. Due to Tesla’s export-oriented approach, they are on the constant path to satisfy both domestic and international demands, and what better place other than Gujarat aligns with their vision?

Tesla has been in rigorous negotiations with the Union Government, seeking concessions that would allow it to enter the Indian market more smoothly.

Elon Musk also revealed that he was keen to make significant investments in India.

Tesla coming to India would be beneficial for everyone as it is predicted that India’s EV market has the potential to achieve over 40 percent penetration with $100 billion in revenue by 2030.

In the past few years, Nanotechnology has helped improve various fields of science and technology but if I have to spot that one industry where it helped the most then that would be the electronic industry. I mean just the ability to alter and control tiny matters at that micro-scale is impressive on its own and that has led us to countless new possibilities for designing and manufacturing electronic devices. Nanotechnology has enabled the industry to manufacture more powerful and efficient transistors while shrinking their form at the same time. You already know about Bard if you don’t then you are surely living under a rock (Bard is basically Google’s reply for Microsoft’s Chat GPT).

Gemini AI acts as a brain for Bard as every AI tool needs an AI model to work so here Bard is the AI tool and Gemini AI is the AI model, It is coming to Android as a new AI core app and it will work without internet or any cloud. Now you can see the reason behind my excitement.

For starters it will be integrated into Gboard and Google’s recorder app so through this new integrated AI your keyboard can provide you with personalized suggestions during your texting by adapting to your texting app and even to whom you are texting with. Yes, it is scary and it’s simple actually on the first look but it’s just the beginning and I think it has immense potential. Google’s Recorder, with the help of Gemini AI this app can now summarize your recordings into bullet points but it’s only Pixel exclusive for now (Thank you Google (¬_¬ )).

The Repair mode is coming to Android.

Well, Samsung mobiles already have this feature named Maintenance mode but now we can access this too. Repair mode comes in handy when you are giving your phone to a service center and it will basically remove all your Google accounts and your data from your mobile which will protect your privacy and you can restore your data once your mobile is back in your hands. It’s pretty cool and safe.

We can use our Smartphones as webcams now.

Well, we have been doing this for a long time because um let’s face it Laptop’s inbuilt cameras suck. It’s just bad. At first, we had to use third-party apps to use our smartphone cameras as webcams but now with the new update, we can directly achieve this just by plugging your smartphone with a USB cable. Simple fast and efficient.

Apart from these minor updates like removing stains from scanned documents and the ability to see the battery manufacture date and cycle count are also being added.

Now these are some of the features that made me raise my eyebrows. Obviously, there is still some time before the release of Android 15 and apart from this many other exciting features are also coming but it’s good to be updated.
