July 2013

I went on a camping trip with my friends in southern Utah!! It rained quite a bit the day before we got there and so there was a lot of mud. I may or may not have started a mud fight and gotten punished for it. But it was totally worth it!!!

My friend took me shooting for my 22nd birthday! It was really fun! We got to shoot fully automatic weapons!!! Pretty sweet!!!

I bought my first car!!!! I got a freaking steal on it and I love it!! 2012 Ford Fusion!!! The guys at the dealerships thought I was crazy when I said I wanted a car with enough room in the back for car seats! Just because I'm single now doesn't mean I will be forever!!! Jerks..... ; )

Tracy left for his mission!!!!!!!! : (  I really miss this kid some days. But he is doing so so well!! He's breaking out of his shy shell and working super hard! He just got made District Leader!! He's only been out 6 months!!! Crazy!!!!

We got chickens! They were all cute and small and now they're big and mean. I don't like big chickens unless they're in chicken enchiladas! Katrina LOVES them though! She takes care of them most of the time and the highlight of her day is gathering eggs.

Singing in General Conference!!!!!!!! SO AMAZING!!!! Seriously I will remember that experience for the rest of my life!!! The Church is true guys!!! So cool. I can't even begin to describe it!! The conference center is so big from the view of the choir seats!! The brethren sitting just feet away from you and the amazing power that the music brings to the meeting!! Incredible!!! Those 4 months of rehearsals made paid off!! We sounded awesome!! In my opinion at least.... : )

July 2014

Angie and company came down and Katrina and I accompanied them to Lagoon! Loved spending time with the kids and walking around the park looking like sister wives! (Me, Angie, Brett, and 8 kids? Yeah we know what all the people were thinking....)

As for right now, I'm working full time for my dad and taking an institute class. I made it into the institute choir at UVU called LDC! (Latter Day Celebration Choir) We get to do all sorts of fun things like sing for Elder Holland next week, (seriously!!!) perform for the MTC directors (And more of the brethren!) and also make a trip to temple square and sing there!!! It's going to be awesome! I almost have my car paid off!! Which is great because in January I'm planning on moving to Salt Lake to start doing hair again!!! It's been way too long and I decided that I need to make it happen no matter what it takes! Lots of prayer is going into this decision and I hope that it will all work out!

I promise I'll be better!! Sorry for the long post!!

Look at What We've Been Up To!

These are some pictures of what we've been up to at the Furr household.

Okay so we still have a lot more work to do before it is finished but it looks pretty amazing behind that big pile of unstacked wood! We built the shed thing a few weeks ago and then poured cement last week to make a pad on the right side. This week we've been moving wood and yesterday we used a log splitter and my amazing wood chopping skills..(okay other people might have helped..) and chopped up all the wood that would have been too big to fit in the wood burning stove. Now we have enough wood to get us through just about anything!! And we're all pretty tired and sore after doing it.

Change of Pace

I've been wanting to do this for a while but I was always scared to do it! Then I decided, what the heck! It's not a big deal and if you don't like it you can always change it again!! So...drumroll please..... ;)

I changed my hair!!!!

I've been various shades of red for about 2 years now and I was tired of it! Mostly I was tired of how bald I looked when I had regrowth. :) So I changed it!!!

I think it turned out rather well! Don't you?

Visits and fun!

So, we're gonna go with the long story. :) Have fun reading!

Back in January, I was at church one day and a guy came up to me while I was playing the piano. I've known this guy for about a year and a half now. We met when I first moved into the ward. He'd seemed interested in me when we first met but I was dating someone else at the time so I promptly put him in the "friend zone". We sort of kept in contact but I hadn't seen him around much because he'd been deployed shortly after we met (He's a marine) and then he started going to a friends ward when he  came back. We were chatting and such and he asked if I'd like to go skiing sometime. Since I have a new found love for skiing, I said that'd be awesome!! He told me we'd figure out a time to go, and then I didn't hear from him.... Then it was Super Bowl Sunday. He rushed over to chat with me after Sacrament so I wouldn't leave and told me he was leaving for Georgia to go work on Friday! I couldn't believe it! So we planned right then to hang out on Tuesday. Later he texted me and said it was a date and there was nothing I could do about it! Which was fine with me!

Tuesday rolls around and we went out. It was an awesome date! We went out to eat and then went ice skating. It was fun to chat and get to know each other and I found myself flirting way more than normal! (lets be honest right now, I'm very flirtatious) I kinda liked this guy! Why does he have to be leaving?!?!?!? He took me home and I couldn't stop myself from feeling like I wanted to see this guy again before he leaves!! So I did! Thursday, and Friday, and Saturday, and Sunday, and Monday!! Their trip got delayed over and over again for which I was grateful! But then he left.... He set up a Skype account so we could keep in touch. He had a friend bring me flowers and a card and chocolate covered strawberries on Valentines day!


Over the next couple of months, we called and Skyped a lot! Like every day! I was still going on dates with other people because he didn't want me to cut everyone out of my life for him when he was so far away. So March rolled around and B. had about a 12 day break from work. He drove up to Indiana for those few days because his friend's family lives there. We'd talked about me flying out there because he "didn't want to spend the money" to fly out. But then he told me not to because I needed to stay and work. So I was kinda bummed that I wouldn't get to see him but I resigned myself to the fact that I probably wouldn't get to see him for a long while. So on Monday, I got home from work and was really tired. B. kept telling me to take a nap so I decided that I would. I woke up, showered, and was getting ready for FHE when he called me. We were talking and then he said "Come outside." I went running out the door and there he was, standing in front of my house with flowers!

We had an amazing week together! This was one of our activities.

It's crayon art!!! We used a heat gun to melt the crayons to make the big splotches and a hair dryer to do the small little spatters. We had a lot of fun making it and we even signed it! It makes a wonderful addition to the art work on my wall!

So handsome right?! I mean the the art work looks great right? ;)

But, alas, our time together had to come to an end. He left and went back to work. We still talked and Skyped and communicated but I missed him a lot. After a few more months, B. had a whole month off. He went to stay with his sister in Florida. Since he wouldn't have any income for a while he really didn't want to spend money and come out and see me. But we found a really cheap ticket for me to go out there! So I went!! It was awesome!! 

These are all pictures we took when we went to Disney World! B.'s brother-in-law's sister works there are got us in for free! We had a lot of fun!! It was also really fun to get to know his sister and and brother in law better! Then we went to the beach a few days later at St. Augustine.

It was my first time swimming in the ocean!! We had so much fun!! But I got way way way super sunburned!!! After the beach we went and explored the little town. There was a cute little colonial marching band so we took a picture.

All in all, the trip was amazing!! But after I came home, things got difficult. We had a long talk and decided that, because we have no idea when he's coming home and that having a long distance relationship is too hard, we broke up. It wasn't easy to break up. But we're still good friends and, when he gets home, we'll see what happens. That's what I've been up to for the last little while! Hope you appreciate the update!!! ;)

I'm terrible.....

I promise all the time that I will keep up on posting on my blog and I always forget!!! Its been forever since I've updated!!! So here is a rough run down of what's been happening.
~I turned 21! Kind of a weird feeling but I had a great birthday! I spent it at my sister's in Bosie and had a blast!
~I was in a choir and we had toe awesome opportunity to sing and the Salt Lake tabernacle!!! It was awesome!! But I have no idea how the Motab does it because you can't hear anyone else sing! But it was awesome and we sang for 5 apostles! Sweet!!!
~I got fired from Fantastic Sam's right after new years.......enough said......

I feel like that is most of the major things that happened. Right now I'm working for my dad and having a blast! I stay pretty busy with 3 church callings, being choir secretary and work. But I do try to fit in some friend time and date time.....if anyone asks......which they don't......sigh..... ;) I feel like things are going really well for me and I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store for me!!!!

Mission Accomplished

So I went out with Alex on Thursday. He is such a great guy! I'm really glad I took a chance and gave him my number! Alex wants to be a zoo keeper and is studying wildlife preservation at BYU. He's going to take me to the zoo and teach me about all the animals because he worked there last summer! Awesome!

Taking Chances

So a couple of weeks ago I was out to dinner with my best friend Kirk (Kirk is a guy and no we don't like each other that way, we're just really good friends) We went to Outback Steakhouse. We got seated and then our waiter came over. He was really cute and wasn't wearing any ring so I was cursing myself for being there with Kirk! The waiter probably thought we were dating or something! Stupid!!! We ate our meal and had lots of fun talking to Alex. (The waiter) Then I noticed one of the bus boys was a guy I went to high school with and he was also in my ward. I chatted with him for a second and then the check came. I payed for dinner and left Alex a tip. I like to leave pretty decent tips because I always appreciate it when people tip me well. After Kirk and I left, I was cursing myself for not being brave and leaving my number for the waiter. But it was too late. Then Saturday rolled around, (Kirk and I had gone to Outback on Wednesday) and I had the day off! So a few friends went bowling and had a blast! Then I asked Kirk if he wanted to go get something to eat. He looked at me and asked if I wanted to go to Outback again. I said sure as long as he was buying! So we headed over there again but this time we didn't have the same waiter. Half way through the meal though, he walked past. He didn't see me but he saw Kirk and thought he recognized him. But he didn't come by or say anything. Then on Sunday, (I know this is getting long but I'm almost to the point!) we had a dessert/game night at my mom and dad's house. Tim the bus boy, was there. He told me that my tip had totally made Alex's day! I felt so good about that! See you never know what a little bit of kindness can do. I thought, "Why not just take a chance and give Tim your number to give to Alex? What's the worst that could happen? It won't kill you to try." So I wrote down my name and number on a piece of paper and handed it to Tim I asked him to give it to Alex and he said the next time they worked together he would. So I waited. And waited. And waited. Nothing. But oh well its not the end of the world! Then last night, I got home and my phone started to ring and I didn't recognize the number. I answered and it was Alex! He asked me to go out with him tonight! So we're going to dinner! I don't know what is going to happen but I am really glad I took a chance and gave him my number. If nothing else, I'll have become stronger and more willing to put myself out there.

Update!

Okay so I may have disappeared for a while but I'm back! Life has gotten super crazy so here are some of the highlights, and not so highlights of the past month or so!

~ I got to spend some time with all of my family! (-1 brother-in-law but that's still pretty close!)
~ Unfortunately, because we all spent time together, we all got sick....
~ I've been asked on a lot of dates! And when I say a lot, I mean like 2 a week! Boys are sure weird sometimes.
~ On one of these said dates, I got to go indoor sky diving!! How cool is that?!?!?
~ I went to 7 peaks with some friends from my ward and my little sister! Thank you pass of all passes!
~ I almost got fired....... Not a good day......
~ Because I almost got fired, I started being more careful about my hair cuts and now I have quite a few repeat customers!
~ I'm moving home in October! As much as I've loved being moved out and having that freedom and responsibility, I miss being home. Actually I just miss my closet! Haha!
~ I'm saving up to buy a car! (which will happen much faster when I'm not paying rent...)

4th of July

This morning we went on a family bike ride up the canyon to have breakfast! It is a family tradition but we haven't done it in years. Let me just tell ya, my butt and legs are really REALLY unhappy about the trip! But it was fun to spend time as a family! Now I'm gonna go die till the next fun thing comes up! Haha

I LOVE MY SISTER!!!!!!

My dear sister A. is an absolute photography wizard!!! She came down a couple of weeks ago and I asked her if she could take some pictures of me while she was here because the most recent pictures I had were my senior pictures. Needless to say it was time for an update.
