We are coming up on Sadie's 9 month birthday, and I cannot believe how she has changed. It feels like just yesterday they placed her in my arms, this small helpless baby. We are celebrating by writing a few of our favorite things about her at this age, and another small list of her favorite things.
Our favorite things:
1. Sadie sleeps unlike anyone I have ever seen. She never ceases to amaze me with the ways she can twist and bend her body and stay asleep.
2. Sadie looks up at us with this super cheesy smile when we haven't looked at each other in a while. I love how happy she is to see me.
3. The way her little bum wiggles when she crawls around.
4. Her curiosity and willingness to discover and explore the world around her.
5. The way she bounces on her bum when she gets really excited.
Her favorite things:
1. Popsicles-Lucky for her mommy, Sadie has inherited her love for popsicles.
2. Putting things close to her face-Sadie puts everything on her face, then rubs it up over her head. It is hilarious to watch.
3. The weekly ads-Sadie can play for hours with just the ads that come every week. She loves banging them together and crinkling them.
4. Crawling-Sadie learned to crawl about 2 weeks ago, and has been on the go ever since. She rarely sits still anymore.
5. Snuggling-Again, much to her mother's delight, Sadie has recently enjoyed snuggling with me before naptime everyday. It's probably because she is teething, but I love it anyway.
This list, added with her lists past makes for one happy, healthy baby girl who her parents love and adore. She brings amazing happiness into our lives, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
Until next time.

6 months and growing
Yup, she's beautiful. Makes my heart melt every time I look at her.
My baby girl hit a milestone the other day. She is now 6 months old! Here is another list of her new favorite things:
1. Babbling-She will babble your ear off, and tells some very compelling stories these days
2. Listening to Mommy sing-Sadie loves to watch me as I sing "Old McDonald", "Periwinkle Store" and just about any other song on the planet.
3. Claire-Sadie loves Claire, one of the little girls I nanny. Claire always introduces Sadie as her little sister.
4. Her farm animal toys-They are the perfect size to grab and chew
5. Apples and peas-Not together, but these are Sadie's two favorite foods so far. She has tried: Green Beans, Peas, Carrots, Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Apples, Spinach, and Pears. She actually really loves them all, but she particularly loves her apple oatmeal in the morning time.
6. Standing-Sadie would rather stand up with someone holding her than do just about anything else.
7. Any screen-Sadie will grab at, and potentially eat, any screen-type device.
Here are a few more pictures from Sadie's 6 month pictures. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Long Days, Short Years
I laid on the floor tonight and simply watched Sadie. She were trying desperately to crawl;, kicking her chubby little legs and burying her face in the carpet. She would look over at me every so often as if to say, "Watch me, Mom, watch me!" and to make sure that I was still there. With each glance, my heart melted a little more and a little more.
A woman told me yesterday that the days are long and the years are short. Truer words have never been spoken. There are days that are hard, and these days, for whatever reason, I am just exhausted all day long. There are days I cannot wait to fall into bed, but I know that each time I do my Sadie Bug will grow a little more and need me a little less. And sometimes, that makes me want to stay up later so tomorrow doesn't come as fast. But, regardless, tomorrow always comes, then another tomorrow, and another, until Sadie is not so little anymore. She is already almost 6 months old, and I cannot believe how the time has flown.
My beautiful, beautiful girl.
Little Miracles
I just have to share with you all some of the little miracles and blessings we've experienced these last few days. I traveled alone with Sadie to Georgia and back again. She was super fussy the whole time we were there, and was waking up at 4:00am (which is 3:00am cst). I was packing to leave, and was at my wits end. Sadie was screaming again (like she was being cut in half) and I was exhausted. I fell to my knees and prayed to my Heavenly Father to please help me get through the flight and be able to handle Sadie. I was so very blessed by airline personnel and by the couple I sat by on the plane. People offered to hold her while I got all my stuff together, checked in my stroller/carseat for me so I didn't have to move all my crap and Sadie too. We were able to make it back, and I was able to keep my sanity.
On another note, I have been crazy exhausted lately and can't barely get myself out of bed. I was driving to work with the girls in the car, and I bumped the car in front of me. I was terrified and beyond tired so I didn't know how it happened. I got out of the car, and the woman in front of me got out of hers. We made sure each other were okay, and then I apologized and told her that I wasn't paying as good of attention as I should have been, and that my baby was screaming in the backseat. She told me that her baby was also screaming in the backseat, and I'm sure she could tell I was exhausted, so she told me not to worry about anything (there was no damage to either car, which is a blessing in and of itself). Then she gave me a hug (which I needed, but she could never have known), and sent me on my way.
I am so grateful for kind and generous people. It helped me remember that despite all the horrible things that are going on in the world today, there is still goodness and kindness out there. I hope I can teach my darling Sadie to be the same type of person to those who might need her.
Hanging out with Aunt Bub and the Bean
She totally looks like my monkey baby here :)

5 months!
This last week, Sadie reached her 5 month birthday. I cannot believe how big she is, and how much she is growing. It seems like yesterday, they placed this beautiful bundle in my arms, and I realized that she was mine forever. Here is a little list of her favorite things:
- Oatmeal cereal-She attacks the spoon for every bite
- Sleeping in a fluffy blanket-she loves the feel of a soft blanket underneath her while she naps.
- Blowing raspberries-Sadie's new trick is blowing raspberries. She still thinks she can do it and suck on her binkie at the same time. :)
- Kicking her legs-we are completely convinced that she will either be a swimmer or a soccer player (something her Grampa Mike would delight in).
- Bathtime-Sadie gets really excited at bathtime, and loves playing with her duckie in the tub.
- Being nakie-if Sadie could be nakie all the time, she would.
- Her toes-Sadie is always grabbing her toes and trying to eat them. It was hysterical to watch her realize they were hers.
- Her sheepie-Sadie has a sheep pillow that she talks to, laughs at, and tries to eat whenever she plays with him.
We love our little love bug more than we can say. She's the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on, and I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for bringing her into my life. She's the happiness in my days, and makes me laugh and smile all the time. Our family is so much more complete with her in it. Happy 5 months, my darling little girl!

Longer Update
So, here is a little more info about our adventures in life. Sadie fell off the growth chart at around 2 months, and didn't make it back on until she was around 3 months old. Here is a comparison of her size:
She grew so much, I was so proud of her. She is now back at the 50% where she should be for her age. We had to stop nursing, which was hard for me, but as long as my darling girl is happy, I'll do whatever it takes. We have been having so much fun lately, although we don't have many new things that we do. We go to work each day, and the girls I nanny just LOVE Sadie. She loves them too, it is fun to see them together. Here are some pictures of her recently:

Rollin Rollin Rollin
So, my darling little girl started rolling yesterday, and I can't believe how big she's getting. Here is a little video of her rolling.
I will hopefully get up some more videos and pictures later tonight. I'll try to write about our latest exploits later tonight.
